Nawazuddin Siddiqui Tried Being Al Pacino In Wasseypur, Got Called Out By Anurag Kashyap

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s intense portrayal of Faisal Khan in Gangs of Wasseypur is one of his most iconic performances. But in a recent chat, the actor shared a funny and revealing behind-the-scenes moment from his first day on set, he was channelling legendary Hollywood actor Al Pacino, and director Anurag Kashyap was not impressed.

‘I Went on the First Day Acting Like Al Pacino’

Speaking about his early days on the Wasseypur set, Nawazuddin said, “I went on the first day acting like Al Pacino. I had thought about emulating him beforehand. Thoda bhootchaaya hua tha. I used to have phases, Robert De Niro for three months, Al Pacino for three months, and Brando.”

He confessed that he tried to bring Pacino’s style into his performance, believing it would make his character look more powerful. However, director Anurag Kashyap immediately sensed the forced effort. “He said, ‘Bewakuf hai kya tu? Don’t do that, you will become stiff and stuck at one place,’” Nawaz recalled.

‘Don’t Do Anything, Be Normal’

The actor said Anurag Kashyap visited him that night and gave him direct feedback. “Anurag came to my room at night and asked what am I up to. He said you are being very stiff, Al Pacino type. I told him that I wanted to show my power,” said Nawazuddin.
Anurag, known for his grounded storytelling, reminded the actor that power doesn’t need to be forced. “Anurag said that vo mera kaam hai, main tere peeche 6 foot ke log khadekardunga, apne aap powerful lagega. Don’t do anything, be normal. I couldn’t sleep the whole night. I felt that he was right,” the actor said honestly.

The next day, Nawazuddin let go of the mimicry and chose to act as himself. “The very next day, I went and forgot everything. Bhaad mein jaaye, main Nawaz hu, main jaisa dikhta hu vaisa hi jaakar karunga.”

In a recent interview, Nawazuddin said that big films are bringing the industry down because they lack good direction, story-telling, and performances. Further, he added that he wonders that most of these big films have five songs designed by a choreographer while the action is done by an action designer so what has the director done in that? What’s the actor doing in that?

Touted as a romantic comedy with a twist, the movie stars Neha Sharma opposite Siddiqui.

The “Gangs of Wasseypur” actor said the movie, written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali and directed by Kushan Nandy, has an “original and refreshing” subject.

“While my fans love to see me playing dark characters, I enjoy being in the light. And I am confident that this time even they will enjoy the laughs with this oddball couple who are determined to not lose their hearts to each other come what may,” Siddiqui said in a statement.

The film has been shot in places like Lucknow, Barabanki, Rahimabad, Varanasi, and Mumbai. It features Zarina Wahab, Sanjay Mishra, and Mahakshay Chakraborty in supporting roles.

Nandy called “Jogira Sara Ra Ra” a special film and said he enjoyed working on it.
“The film has turned out to be a fun ride, with a quirky Nawaz aka Jogi Pratap in the driving seat. His comic timing is amazing and Neha’s innate goofiness makes her a great co-passenger,” he added.

Neha said the film was a “memorable experience” for her.

“We were all sad when the film wrapped up because I was having so much fun. Now, I can’t wait for you all to see it and enjoy it. It’s good clean entertainment that you can enjoy with the whole family. Hop on board, you won’t be disappointed,” she said.

“Jogira Sara Ra Ra” is produced by Naeem A Siddiqui with Kiran Shyam Shroff as the creative producer.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui ready to settle legal matters with ex-wife Aaliya?

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented actors in the film industry. The actor has been making it to the headlines for many days now ever since the legal battle with his ex-wife Aaliya has been going on. A couple of days ago, Aaliya shared a video claiming that their kids had been thrown out of her mother-in-law’s house. Nawazuddin Siddiqui even broke his silence on the same. But according to the latest reports, the Motichoor Chaknachoor actor has told the Bombay High Court that he will withdraw his habeas corpus petition if he is allowed to meet his two children.

A report in India Today revealed that the actor’s lawyer Pradeep Thorat said that his children were missing their school in Dubai, and this was the sole reason behind the actor filing the petition. Further, Pradeep Thorat added that the actor has not seen his children physically, and after he gets to meet his kids, he will withdraw his petition. On the other hand, Aaliya’s lawyer Shikhar Khandelwal said that the petition was unnecessary since his client and the two children were living in a bungalow owned by the actor’s mother. Shikhar Khandelwal also said that the actor is free to meet his children but it is Nawaz who is not meeting them.

Aaliya only wants money, says Nawazuddin Siddiqui on ex-wife’s claims

Famous Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has finally broken his silence after ex-wife, Aaliya Siddiqui made several allegations against him. Nawaz took to his Instagram on Monday, 6 March and shared a statement.

Gangs Of Wasseypur fame actor wrote, “This is not an allegation but expressing my emotions,” as he said that a section of people is enjoying his “character assassination on the basis of one-sided and manipulated videos.

Nawaz claimed about his ex-wife Aaliya that “only wants more money,” before adding that “it’s her routine.” In his post, Nawaz wrote, “I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is because all this tamasha (show) will somewhere be read by my small children.

“Social Media Platforms, Press and a bunch of people are really enjoying my character assassination on the basis of one sided and manipulated videos. There are few points, I would like to express–1. First of all me and Aaliya do not stay together since several years, we are already divorced but we definitely had an understanding only for our kids.”

He furthermore added that, “2. Does anyone know, why my kids are in India and not attending school for 45 days, wherein the school is sending me letters everyday that it’s been too long an absence. My kids have been made hostage for past 45 days & are missing their schooling in Dubai.

“3. She had abandoned the kids in Dubai for last 4 months before calling them here on pretext of demanding money. On an average, she is been paid approx 10 Lakhs per month for past 2 years and 5-7 lakhs per month before moving to Dubai with my children, excluding the school fees, medical, travel and other leisure activities.”

The actor concluded his post as, “Last but the not the least – Any parent on this planet will never want their kids to miss out on their studies or hamper their future, they will always try to give their best of the best possible things.

“Whatever I am earning today is all for both my kids and no person can change this. I love Shora & Yani and I will go to any extent to secure their well-being and their future. I have won all the cases so far and will continue to place my faith in the judiciary. Love is not to hold one back, but to let one fly in the right direction. Thank You.”

NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI WINS THE BEST ACTOR AWARD
