OUCH! Bloody Blunder: Peter Dutton Accidentally Injures Cameraman With Footy Kick | WATCH

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s visit to Darwin took an unexpected turn when a casual footy kick at a media event struck a Channel 10 cameraman in the head, leaving him with a scratched and bloodied forehead.

The incident occurred during a photo opportunity at the Palmerstone sports ground, where Dutton was announcing a $5 million investment in the Cazalys Arena sports precinct. Ghaith Nadir, the cameraman injured, was filming the event when Dutton’s ball hit his camera, which then slammed into his forehead.

“Oh got him,” Dutton said after the ball struck Nadir, before quickly realising the extent of the accident. “Oh it split him open too. Oh no,” he added.

Dutton promptly went over to check on the injured cameraman, who, despite the bleeding, was not seriously harmed. He also shook Nadir’s hand afterward in a gesture of apology.

While addressing the media later, Dutton emphasized the purpose of his visit: “We know that sport is a powerful tool in bringing communities together. That’s why the Coalition is investing in Cazalys Arena,” he said. “This iconic arena will get the upgrade it needs and deserves. This will give thousands of young people and their families a safe and modern sporting environment and ensure this great arena is fit for purpose for decades to come.”

Dutton’s unfortunate drop kick comes just days after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made headlines for taking a tumble on stage during another event.

Earlier that morning, Dutton had also unveiled a new Coalition policy aiming to buy back the Port of Darwin, which had previously been leased to a Chinese-linked private company for 99 years—a deal approved under then-Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

‘Struggle will definitely bear fruit’: Siddaramaiah credits Congress workers for predicted victory

On Thrusday, Congress veteran leader Siddaramaiah expressed gratitude to the party workers for working relentlessly during the poll campaign and hoped that their struggle will ‘definitely bear fruit’, as the exit polls gave an edge to the grand old party.

“I have a special appeal to our party workers: You have left home and family to work for the election. Now take some time off and spend time with your parents, wife and children. Our honest struggle will definitely bear fruit. Thanks again and best wishes to you all,” Siddaramaiah tweeted.

“Proud workers and fans of Congress Party. Congratulations and my thanks to all of you who continuously worked day and night, forgetting meals and rest, on behalf of the Congress party candidates.

In the Varuna constituency where I am contesting, not only from all corners of the state but also from other states have come and campaigned for me out of love and respect for me. I have not even been able to meet them and thank them. This love and admiration is the strength of me and the Congress party. My heartfelt thanks to all of them,” he tweeted in Kannada.

Common uniform for Indian Army’s top brass from 1 August

The Indian Army is set to introduce a uniform policy for Brigadier-ranked officers and above, which will apply regardless of their parent cadre or appointment. This initiative is aimed at fostering a unified identity and approach towards service matters among senior leadership, transcending regimental affiliations, according to defence sources on Tuesday.

The move is aimed at bringing a common identity and approach to service matters amongst senior leadership, which goes beyond the boundaries of regimentation. “This will also reinforce the Indian Army’s character as a fair and equitable organisation.” The decision was taken after detailed deliberations during the recently concluded Army Commanders Conference and extensive consultations with all stakeholders,” they said.

“The changes will be implemented on 1 August. There is no change to the uniform worn by colonels and below-rank officers of the Indian Army,” they added.

“The headgear, shoulder rank badges, gorget patches, belts, and shoes of senior officers of flag rank (Brigadier and above) will now be standardised and common. The flag-rank officers will now not wear any lanyards,” they said.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia vows to fight for India’s pride

As farmers from several states marched into the national capital to show solidarity with protesting wrestlers there, star wrestler and Olympian Bjarang Punia said there was a fight for “country dignity.”

Speaking to the media persons at the protest site near the Jantar Mantar, Punia said, “We will protest as long as we don’t get justice. This is the fight for the respect and dignity of our country’s daughters and mothers, and also for the dignity of the country.”

“We are thankful to people who are coming here to extend their support. To those who are coming here to express solidarity with us, I would say, please ensure peace,” Punia said.

The Olympic bronze medalist also urged the police administration not to trouble or harass those who were visiting the site to stand with the protesting wrestlers.

“We are receiving support from the whole country.” “People from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Indore are arriving here to stand with us,” he said.

BJP 2nd list out: Will win at least 125 seats out of 189 announced, says Yediyurappa

BS Yediyurappa, a senior in the Bharatiya Janata Party and a former chief minister of Karnataka, stated on Wednesday that the party has named candidates for 189 seats on Tuesday, of which it will win at least 125 in the state assembly elections. He also stated that the second list would be made public by tonight.

Yediyurappa stated in a media that 52 of the 189 seats declared yesterday are new. Out of the 189 seats that were announced yesterday, we will win at least 125 to 130. We are pleased with the news. We’ll take over Karnataka’s government. The second list of candidates, in my opinion, will be made public by evening. When questioned about KS Eshwarappa’s decision to leave electoral politics, the former chief minister claimed that he had freely written to JP Nadda, the party’s national president, expressing his decision not to run in the elections.

“Eshwarappa voluntarily wrote a letter to the party president saying that he will work for the party and does not want to contest,” he said.

Speaking about Jagadish Shettar, a former Karnataka Chief Minister and six-time BJP MLA whose name was missing from the first list of the list released by the party yesterday, Yediyurappa said that there is a maximum chance of his name appearing in the second list.
“99 percent of Jagadish Shettar (the former Karnataka CM) will be given an election ticket,” he said.

When asked about Congress moving the Election Commission regarding the issues in the voter list, the BJP leader said that the party is doing so because it is aware of its defeat in the polls. “That means they know they are going to lose the elections. They have given such statements previously also,” he said.

Eshwarappa and other top officials wants to bring new blood in politics: BJP

On Tuesday, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader KS Eshwarappa announced his decision to quilt electoral politics weeks ahead of the assembly elections in Karnataka.

BJP leader Chalavadi T. Narayanswamy reacted to the development by stating that it was a commendable choice made by a top leader. He (Narayanswamy) has served the party for 40–45 years, he claimed when speaking to the media. He must now make a choice. Youth, in his opinion, need to step up and assume responsibilities. They desire fresh faces in politics.

In addition, Narayanswamy claimed that Halady Srinivas Shetty, another BJP leader, had decided not to contest in the upcoming elections.
Not only him, but Halady Srinivas Shetty has withdrawn from the race because he wants to win every election.Halady Srinivas Shetty has instructed the party to select whatever candidate they like. Senior leaders make these choices for the benefit of the party and the nation, he continued.
When asked if his son, KE Kantesh, would receive the ticket from that seat, Narayanswamy responded that only the high leadership had the authority to decide such matters.
“We are unaware of that. The choice of whether to accept his son (Eshwarappa’s) request or not will be made by the party high leadership alone, he claimed.

As per the sources, some more senior party leaders may quit electoral politics ahead of the ticket announcement.
Earlier in the day, BJP MLA from Shivamogga, KS Eshwarappa, said that he would not contest the Karnataka Assembly Elections scheduled for next month.
In a letter to BJP President JP Nadda, Eshwarappa said, “I am withdrawing from electoral politics.”
“The party gave me a lot of responsibilities in the last 40 years, from a booth in charge to the state party chief. I also had the honour of becoming Deputy Chief Minister. Thank you so much.” He added it to the letter.

Arvind kejriwal alleged that some ‘Anti-National Forces’ are against AAP

Amaravati, Andhra : CM Jagan Mohan Reddy reviews work at School Education Dept

According to an official release, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy observed activities at the School Education Department in the state capital on Monday.

On April 7, YSR Congress Party MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy released posters and a video documentary of ‘Jagananne Maa Bhavishyathu,’ as part of the party’s public outreach campaign, which began last Friday with the goal of explaining to people the government’s welfare and development efforts.
Addressing the media at the party’s central office, he stated that the slogan “Ma Nammakam Nuvve Jagan” was chosen by the people after they benefited from the government’s social programmes.

During the 14-day period, a door-to-door campaign will be carried out, reaching out to 1.60 crore households in the state, representing the full five crore people.
Reddy stated that the Chief Minister’s objective is to make a noticeable difference in people’s lives, and that political parties should be held accountable.

In a review of the GGMP, the Chief Minister also stated that approximately 92% of people out of 1.6 crore families in rural areas and 84% in urban areas benefited from Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) or non-DBT schemes implemented by the government, implying that 87 percent of people on average in the state benefited from DBT or non-DBT schemes implemented by the government.

Majority of the drugs are shipped in Pakistan: Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the security in the ocean needs to be strengthened because most of the drugs are shipped from Pakistan and all the drugs supplied in Pakistan go via Iran to Sri Lanka and Africa.

Shah also added that the fight against drug control is not just the responsibility of the Centre but also of the states, societies and citizens.

In his speech to the southern States and Union Territories in a regional meeting on ‘Drug Trafficking and National Security’ he claimed that at least 60 to 70 percent of drug smuggling occurs through the sea route.

The Minister said, “We need a top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top approach, sparing no one who is involved in drug trafficking.”

Further he added, “When we catch a big fry, we need to investigate the entire chain of networks down below. When we catch a drug addict, we need to investigate those who supplied them”.

Five students in Delhi stabbed after fight between 2 groups

At least five students in Delhi were stabbed after a brawl broke out between two groups of students from the Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Karawal Nagar and the Government Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Khajoori Khas, as per the police. An attempted murder case has been filed in this connection, and further investigation is going on.
