A massive fire broke out on Wednesday, in RRTS station that was still under-construction, under Pallavpuram Police Station limits in Meerut.

Visuals taken from the location showed flames engulfing the RRTS project’s under-construction area.

To put out the fire, the fire tenders could be seen arranging to go to the top of the platform.

The construction of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) aims to enable seamless transportation between the two cities.

The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) was introduced in the nation last October when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the RapidX train that connected Sahibabad to Duhai Depot and opened the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor at Sahibabad RapidX Station in Uttar Pradesh.

Meerut man held for killing wife, attempting to conceal body

A man in Meerut was taken into custody after he allegedly killed his wife, whom he thought was unfaithful. When the accused, Vishal, found out that his wife Gunjan was having an affair with a young man from their neighborhood, he allegedly became so enraged that he strangled her to death. Ayush Vikram Singh, the superintendent of police in Meerut, claims that the accused allegedly strangled his wife and then hid her body in a forest some 20 kilometres away. According to the Meerut SP, the accused used an e-rickshaw to move the body.

The police initially got entangled in an anonymous murder mystery but after discovering the woman’s body, the accused’s elaborate plot started to crumble.
The accused has been apprehended by police who are holding several others for questioning in connection with the case.

Uttar Pradesh: Headless body of man found in Meerut drain

According to authorities, a headless and severely decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in a drain in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

“The body has been sent for a post-mortem. Efforts are on to identify the dead body. However, till now, no important clue has been found,” said Superintendent of Police City Meerut Piyush Singh.
The body was found in a drain behind the Agriculture University of Daurala police station area of Meerut, they said.

After receiving the information, the police arrived on the scene right away and sent out search teams to look for the missing head, according to an official. According to the police, they are also looking through the CCTV footage from the area to find the person who threw the body down the drain. The matter is currently the subject of more investigation.

5 Kanwariyas electrocuted to death, 5 others injured in UP’s Meerut village

Five Kanwariya were electrocuted to death and five others were injured after their car collided with an 11kv power line near a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district on Saturday evening, according to officials. According to officials, the incident took place in Bhawanpur’s Rali Chauhan village in Meerut district when the vehicle of Kanwariyas came in contact with a low-hanging high-tension power line. Following the incident, locals of the area reached the spot and rushed the Kanwariyas to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared five Kanwariyas dead. The condition of two of the five others who suffered the electric shock in the incident was said to be critical.
Following the incident, a group of locals gathered in the area and held a demonstration demanding action into the incident.
Meerut DM Deepak Meena said, “Five Kanwariya pilgrims were electrocuted to death and five others were admitted to a hospital after their DJ vehicle brushed against an 11KV power line.”
