A shocking case of an illicit love affair has emerged from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman abandoned societal norms and chose to live with her elder sister’s husband. The incident has led to intense family drama and police intervention.

Love Affair Unfolds in Mathura

The story began when a young woman from Karnal married a man from Nauhjheel village 12 years ago. The couple had two children and were leading a seemingly normal life. Five years later, her younger sister also got married and had two children of her own.

However, over time, an affair developed between the younger sister and her elder sister’s husband. Their secret relationship soon turned into an open defiance of societal expectations. Four months ago, they eloped, leaving the family searching for answers.

Shocking Discovery at a Brick Kiln

After months of searching, the family finally traced the couple to a brick kiln on Raipur Road, where they were working as laborers. When the younger sister’s brother tried to bring her back, she refused and declared her intention to stay with her brother-in-law.

“You are no longer my sister’s husband, but mine,” she reportedly told her brother. “We will live together regardless of what anyone says.”

This revelation enraged the brother, who confronted the brother-in-law, reminding him of his responsibilities toward his wife and children. A heated argument ensued, prompting the brick kiln accountant to alert the police.

Police Intervention and Family Fallout

Upon arriving at the police station, officers were taken aback by the unusual situation. Despite attempts to reason with the woman, she remained firm in her decision to stay with her brother-in-law. Meanwhile, her elder sister was left heartbroken by the betrayal.

Inspector Shailendra Singh confirmed that the woman was adamant about her choice, and authorities are now handling the altercation between the two brothers. The incident has sparked widespread debate on moral values and the consequences of forbidden love affairs.

Medha Yadav, a reporter reporting on the Holi festival in Mathura on March 14, had colours applied to her face against her will while explaining the significance of consent to people celebrating the festival. The episode occurred at Nand Bhavan temple in Nandgaon, a place famous for its Lathmar Holi practice, where women beat men with sticks playfully.

Yadav was talking to individuals at the festival when a man came suddenly and applied colour to her face. She got surrounded by a gulaal cloud, and as more people joined in, another man moved towards her to do the same. Yadav stopped him and questioned how he thought about consent, but a third individual stepped forward, brushing her aside and going on with the act. When she complained about women’s safety, she received a dismissive reaction.

When she wrote an article later trying to highlight the importance of celebrating in a safe, respectful manner, another group of colour was hurled into her face. On X, she spoke on the issue: “To those who are wondering why do I need to go in the first place if I have an issue: so you are saying that such a mindset should still thrive and we keep searching for safe spaces? Meaning that such individuals should live long and we can’t even do our job, can’t even be part of any celebration of our own volition.”

She also went on to say, “No festival is bad, the individuals who celebrate it make its experience good or bad. This is not concerned with the condemnation of any religion or festival but has been derived based on the traits of a civilized and better society. And just like every other festival, Holi is also my favorite festival. Solutions are not found by changing the topic.”

Hema Malini Seeks Third Consecutive Term as MP from Mathura

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Hema Malini, who transitioned from acting to politics, for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive term.

With approximately 35 percent of voters belonging to the Jat community in Mathura, Hema Malini is viewed as the preferred candidate. Additionally, the BJP is gaining support from Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Jayant Chaudhary for the elections. The Mathura Lok Sabha seat holds significant importance for the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the party aims to maintain its stronghold in this constituency.

In Mathura, located along the Yamuna river, where approximately 35 percent of the voters are from the Jat community, Hema Malini, the wife of actor Dharmendra Deol, is regarded as the daughter-in-law of the Jats.

The Mathura seat has witnessed elections 17 times, with candidates from the Jat community emerging victorious 12 times. From 1991 to 1999, the BJP secured victory in Mathura four times, establishing it as their stronghold. However, in 2004, Mathura was won by the Congress party. Subsequently, in 2009, RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary became the Member of Parliament from Mathura.

In 2014, the BJP nominated Hema Malini, who emerged victorious. In the 2019 elections, actor Dharmendra, Hema’s husband, campaigned for her and garnered significant support from the public. With the implementation of public welfare schemes by the double-engine government, the lotus once again blossomed in Mathura in 2019, securing Hema Malini’s position as an MP.

Throughout her tenures, Hema Malini has remained actively engaged in her political duties. Political analysts speculate that with the potential inclusion of RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary in the NDA, the BJP will not only gain support from Jat voters in Mathura and parts of western Uttar Pradesh but also stand to benefit in Haryana and other regions. Interestingly, in the 2014 Mathura election, Hema defeated Jayant by over 3 lakh votes.

Uttar Pradesh, which contributes the highest number of MPs, 80, to Parliament, will undergo voting across all seven phases. The voting for phases one and two is scheduled for April 19 and April 26. Subsequently, the state will conduct polling once more in phases three and four on May 7 and May 13. The Uttar Pradesh electorate will also participate in phases five, six, and seven on May 20, May 23, and June 1, respectively.

Mathura is slated to go to the polls in the second phase of the general elections on April 26. The general elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats will take place in seven phases, commencing on April 19. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.

Phulera Dooj celebration falls on March 12; Puja timings & its significance

This year, Phulera Dooj falls on March 12. The Dwitiya Tithi begins at 10:44 AM on March 11 and concludes at 7:13 AM on March 12, marking the most opportune time for Phulera Dooj puja.

Phulera Dooj, a prominent festival in Mathura and Vrindavan associated with Lord Krishna, is celebrated on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Phalgun. Devotees flock to Krishna temples in Mathura and Vrindavan to seek blessings from Lord Krishna on this auspicious day. The festival is considered highly propitious, and some astrologers suggest that no specific muhurta is required for conducting auspicious activities like marriages during Phulera Dooj. The entire day is deemed favorable for undertaking auspicious duties.

As part of the rituals, people decorate temples and homes with flowers a few days before Holi. Devotees wake up early, place the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha, and perform puja rituals together. In various places, Phulera Dooj is celebrated with grandeur, and instead of colors or gulaal, people engage in playful activities with flowers.

SC stays Allahabad High Court’s directive for appointing Commission for Shahi Eidgah Mosque in Mathura

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the Allhabadad High Court order for appointment of a Commission for the Shahi Eidgah Mosque in connection with Mathura’s Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid dispute. On a plea filed by the Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah challenging the Allahabad High Court order for the appointment of a Commission for the Shahi Eidgah Mosque, a bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta also issued notice to concerned respondents.

The court listed the matter for January 23 for further hearing.
The court said that proceedings before the trial court can be continued but the commission cannot be executed till the next date of hearings.
The court observed that HC has acted on a vague application seeking omnibus directions.
The court noted that the application has to be specific.
“This is wrong, you have to be very clear about what you want… It is an omnibus application,” the court said.
The Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order for the appointment of a Commission for the Shahi Eidgah Mosque.

CM Yogi inaugurates first Intra District Chopper service

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the first Intra District Chopper Service of the state from Bateshwar in Agra to Govardhan in Mathura on Monday.
The helicopter will fly from Bateshwar in Agra to Goverdhan in Mathura. A helipad has been prepared in Bateshwar village, 65 km from Agra city.

Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that Atal ji was the ‘Ajat Shatru’ of politics.
He possessed remarkable abilities to work in both favourable and challenging situations.
Addressing the Atal Geet Ganga Program, organised on the eve of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary, Yogi said that he laid the foundation for schemes benefiting the poor, significant infrastructure projects, and got global recognition and honour for India.

The Chief Minister said the magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Ram, embodying the values and ideals Atal Bihari lived for, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024.
“It is also a wonderful coincidence that this year marks the centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth. He was born on December 25, 1924. UP: Security ramped up in Mathura on Babri Masjid demolition anniversary

After Hindu organizations declared their intention to hold religious events at Shahi Eidgah on December 6, security at the Mathura mosque was stepped up. Speaking about the security measures, Martand Prakash Singh, SP City Mathura, stated: “Police personnel have been assigned duties after the entire city of Mathura has been divided into two zones and seven sectors.” Additional SP (ASP) is in charge of the zones, and Deputy SP is in charge of the sectors. Additionally, two PACs (Provincial Armed Constabulary) and one company paramilitary force have been given to us.”

He said that more than 500 police officials from the civil police have been depolyed at important checkpoints.
Intensive checking of hotels, parking, and public places is being done near Shri Krishna’s birthplace and Shahi Idga, while the dog squad, LIU, and bomb disposal squad are also involved in checking.
As per reports, there will be a ban on vehicles on the roads leading to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Shahi Eidgah starting tomorrow morning. Aadhaar cards of people going towards Shahi Eidgah are also being checked.

10 nursing students in Mathura hospitalised after chlorine gas leak

Following an incident of chlorine gas leakage from a cylinder stored at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office campus in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, at least ten nursing students were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Once the gas began to spread throughout the complex, confusion and mayhem ensued. The problem started on Thursday night, when they were notified about the incident, according to the Fire Department personnel who raced to the scene.

“…The issue started last evening and the team had controlled it. However, it has again taken place today. The team has been here for an hour now. It has made breathing difficult and people are unable to work…,” a Fire Department official said.

CM Adityanath condoles loss of life in Auraiya accident, orders best treatment for injured

On Tuesday, a road accident in the Auraiya district claimed the life of a woman and injured numerous others. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the incident. The district administration’s officials have been ordered by the chief minister to make sure that the injured are taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a bus carrying pilgrims toward Mathura overturned near Auraiya, according to sources. CM Adityanath further instructed officials to provide the injured with the best care possible while wishing them a quick recovery. More information is awaited.

Supreme Court urges Railways to maintain status quo in Mathura

On 16 August, the Supreme Court of India directed to maintain the status quo till any further orders on the demolition drive of reported advances on railway land near the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura.

A bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose, Sanjay Kumar, and SVN Bhatti issued the order granting interim relief to the petitioner till further order. The court also passed notice to the respondents in the matter.

Senior Advocate Prashanto Chandra Sen, who appeared for the petitioner, said that the authorities started demolition on 9 August, and people have been residing there since the 1800s. Petitioners were represented by advocates Radha Tarkar and Aaron Shaw.

One petitioner filed a civil suit before the Civil Court Senior Division, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, asking for a permanent injunction against the railway authority, but meanwhile, the demolition work continued on 9 August.

According to the petitioner, they have approached the Civil Court as well as the High Court, but all the courts are closed and they could not put forward their issue. Taking advantage of this situation, the Railway Authority has started the process of demolishing the house of the petitioners in the most arbitrary manner, the petitioner claimed.

The petitioner has tried their best to stop the demolition but everything went in vain and now they are compelled to approach the top court and urge the apex court to issue a direction to stop the demolition where they have been staying since 1880.

4 dead, 1 injured in road accident in Mathura

On Wednesday, at least 4 people were killed while another was seriously injured after a car they were travelling in rammed into a roadside tree in Mathura, as per the police information.

According to the police, the victims were travelling in a car which reportedly collided with a tree at Baldeo Road area in Mathura. There were 5 people on board when the incident took place, they said. They were identified as Ankit, Yogesh – both residents of Rida Mohalla of Baldeo, Achal and Akash from Anghai village, and Bharat alias Rocky.

“Prima facie it appeared that the vehicle driver tried to avoid an oncoming motorist and ended up colliding with the tree near Pilkhuni village,” officials said, while adding that four of them died on the spot. Officials were however not sure about who was driving the vehicle. The injured person was taken to district hospital, while the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, as per the police information.

UP: Illegal arms factory busted in Mathura, 3 arrested

On Sunday, an illegal arms factory was busted and authorities nabbed three people after an encounter in Mathura, sources revealed.

An Superintendent of Police, Martand Prakash Singh stated that, they acted on a tip-off related to the manufacturing of illegal weapons. Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute; next hearing on 25 January

In the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid dispute matter, while hearing the Hindu Sena Amin survey case on Friday the Mathura court said they will hear the case on 25 January.

Meanwhile, the case the of Hindu Sena Amin survey was heard by the court of Additional Civil Judge Senior Division III.

The argument was presented by both the parties in the court and the next day of the hearing is 25 January that has court fixed.

Earlier on the petition of Vishnu Gupta of Hindu Sena the court gave the notice and to the survey report of Shahi Idgah by Hindu Sena Amin Muslim party had objected.

Moreover, on the objection of the Muslim party, the court stayed the Amin survey in the last hearing. To all the parties the court issued notices.

However, on 8 December Hindu Sena National President Vishnu Gupta and Vice President Surjit Singh Yadav said that the land of Lord Krishna’s birthplace was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb by demolishing the temple.

Minor girl raped; 1 held in Mathura

Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested one person for raping a minor girl in Mathura’s Gausana. Meanwhile, the arrested accused has been identified as Satish who hails from Gausana village of Mathura. Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Pandey ordered his arrest and within 24 hours the accused has been arrested. “A case has been registered against the accused under section 452/376AB of the Indian Penal Code (Punishment for rape on woman under twelve years of age) and 5M/6 POCSO Act at Jamunapar police station,” City SP Martand Prakash Singh said.

Mathura on high alert, ABHM call to recite the Hanuman Chalisa

Amid the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha’s (ABHM) call to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi complex-Shahi Idgah Masjid maidan security has been beefed in Mathura.

Meanwhile, at various places in Mathura police barricading has been placed and all the vehicles are being checked. Police forces and security personnel has been asked to remain on high alert by the Mathura district administration.

The ABHM sought permission from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday to perform Laddu Gopal’s ‘Jalabhishek’ on 6 December.

Earlier on 1 December the district administration imposed restrictions in the wake of the Babri Masjid demolition 30 anniversary and will remain in effect till 28 January.

Moreover, the prohibitory order has been also imposed by the District Magistrate Pulkit Khare in which political, social, or religious organizations or any other gathering has been restricted.

National treasurer of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Dinesh Sharma on Friday claimed that he wrote the letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with his blood.

“If you cannot grant permission to recite the Hanuman Chalisa, then grant us permission for euthanasia because we do not want to live if we are not allowed to worship our idol,” Sharma said.

However, the ‘karsewaks’ demolished the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December 1992. In 2019 the Supreme Court directed the Centre to give Sunni Waqf Board five acres of suitable land.

Furthermore, a constitution bench of five-judge presided over by Chief Justice Gogoi and comprising Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan, and S Abdul Nazeer passed the order.

Uttar Pradesh: 29 cows found dead in Mathura

In a closed container stranded near the national highway in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, 29 cows were found dead.

Meanwhile, 29 cows were found dead and one cow was found alive by the police in the stranded container.

Moreover, the driver is absconding said Mathura Circle Officer (CO), Refinery, Harshita Singh.

“We received info that a closed container is standing near the national highway in Mathura district. 29 cows were found dead while one cow was found alive in the container. The driver has been absconding. The case has been filed,” said Singh.

Delhi woman’s body found in suitcase in Mathura, shot dead by father

In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, a woman’s body was discovered inside a suitcase. According to sources, her father shot her dead over her marriage and lifestyle.

On the Yamuna Expressway last week, Aayushi Yadav’s body was discovered inside a suitcase and wrapped in plastic. She was recognised as a Badarpur, Delhi, inhabitant, aged 21.

When Yadav’s father went to identify the deceased, the police detained and questioned him. In response to his daughter’s engagement to a man from a different caste and her late-night outings, Nitish Yadav is said to have shot her dead.

Police sources claim that Aayushi secretly wed Chhatrapal, a member of a different caste, without alerting her family. Her parents were upset with her for what they saw as rebellion and a “stubborn” attitude.

Nitesh Yadav allegedly killed Aayushi with his legally owned gun, put her body in a suitcase, and dumped it in Mathura. Police teams have been sent out to look for the murder weapon.

The fatal tragedy occurs just a few days after the murder trial for Shraddha Walkar.

Aftab Amin Poonawalla, Shraddha’s live-in partner, is accused of strangling her and dismembering her body into 35 parts. After Delhi police began looking into a missing person report submitted by Shraddha’s father, Vikas Walker, he was taken into custody on Saturday. Police are currently holding Poonawalla.
