Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 112th episode of his monthly radio program, ‘Mann ki Baat,’ on Sunday, where he announced the launch of a national narcotics helpline, ‘Manas,’ aiming to “make India drugs-free.”

He stated, “I have often discussed with you the challenge of the drug menace. Every family is worried that their child might get caught in the grip of drugs. Now to help such people, the government has opened a special centre named Manas.”

Celebrating the inclusion of Assam’s Moidams, the burial mounds of Ahom royalty, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list, he encouraged people to add the site to their travel itineraries, saying “a country can only progress by taking pride in its own culture.”

“I remember that on March 9 this year, I had the privilege of unveiling the tallest statue of the great Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan, a symbol of indomitable courage and bravery,” he added.

PM Modi also invited participants of the 64th International Mathematics Olympiad, who secured fourth place for India in the competition, to speak on the program and share their experiences. The PM connected with them over a phone call.

Against the backdrop of the Paris Olympics, Modi urged people to cheer for Indian athletes as they compete on the international stage.

Earlier this week, PM Modi announced the return of the monthly radio broadcast on X, stating, “Delighted to share that after a gap of some months due to the elections, #MannKiBaat is back.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that over 60,000 Amrit Sarovars constructed during the “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” have already emerged as shining landmarks and that 50,000 more are being built, underscoring the Center’s efforts and commitment to water conservation.

“Now I have come to know that the tribal brothers and sisters of Pakaria village have already started working on this (implementing ideas to conserve water). With the help of the local administration, people have converted about a hundred wells into water recharge systems,” he said, adding that rainwater now flows into these wells and from there, percolates beneath the surface.
“This will gradually boost the groundwater level in the area. Now, all the villagers have set a target of using about 800 such wells in the entire area for recharging water,” PM Modi added.

At 11 am, the Prime Minister’s monthly radio show will go on the air. The 100th edition of PM Modi’s monthly radio show, which was broadcast live on April 26 across the nation, was recently concluded. The 100th edition of the ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme made its global broadcast on April 30. The programme was also broadcasted live at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The programme, which started on October 3, 2014, has become a key pillar of the government’s citizen-outreach programme addressing multiple social groups such as women, youth, and farmers and has spurred community action.
The Prime Minister found such personalities of the world through the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, who made special contributions in their field, but their contributions were not known. Today people know such people in society and only know them. Not only this, but people are also moving forward with their inspiration.
Apart from this, PM Modi included all the topics of climate change, agriculture, art, culture, and health in Mann Ki Baat and presented something new to society every time in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program so that society could get information about that subject. The aim is to unite the country in one thread and develop by taking everyone along.
Apart from 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is broadcast in 11 foreign languages including French, Chinese, Indonesian, Tibetan, Burmese, Baluchi, Arabic, Pashtu, Persian, Dari and Swahili. Mann Ki Baat was broadcast by more than 500 broadcast centres of All India Radio.
A study was conducted regarding the impact of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on the lives of the people.
The study showed that over 100 crore people have connected to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at least once, it speaks directly to people, celebrates grassroots-level changemakers and achievements of people and has influenced people towards positive actions.
The programme was telecast live by Doordarshan in Raj Bhavans across the country.
The Prime Minister also dedicated the new Parliament building to the nation on the same day. The prime minister presented traditional shawls and mementos to the construction workers in advance of the ceremony. At the new Parliament building, “Sarv-dharma” prayers were held. Priests of all faiths recited the traditional verses.
After doing puja, PM Modi placed the revered “Sengol” next to the Speaker’s chair in the new Lok Sabha chamber.

During the 101st episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the ‘Yuva Sangam’ initiative, saying that India’s strength lies in its diversity and that there is much to see in our country.

PM Modi express during the 101st episode of Mann Ki Baat, “India’s strength lies in its diversity. There is a lot to see in our country. Keeping this in view, the Ministry of Education has taken an excellent initiative named ‘Yuvasangam’.

“The objective of this initiative is to increase People to People Connect as well as to give an opportunity to the youth of the country to mingle with each other. Higher educational institutions in various states have been linked to it.”

According to PM Modi, approximately 1,200 youths visited 22 states during the first round of Yuva Sangam. Everyone who was a part of it is returning with memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

He said, “We have seen that CEOs, Business leaders of many big companies have spent time in India as Back-Packers. When I meet leaders of other countries, many a time they also tell me that they had gone to visit India in their youth.”

He further added, “There is so much to know and see in India that your curiosity will only increase every time. I hope that after coming to know of these exciting experiences, you too will definitely be inspired to travel to different parts of the country.”
