</excerpt>

Operation Sindoor launched by India, initiated on May 7, 2025, successfully eliminated two Lashkar-e-Taiba high-value targets (HVTs)—Abdul Malik and Mudassir. The operation, aimed at striking important terror bases in Pakistan and PoK, was specifically in retaliation for the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.

The Indian Armed Forces, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, worked in tandem to target nine terror centers, effectively taking down the terrorist infrastructure without provoking escalation by Pakistani military units.

Key Targets Eliminated

The operation targeted Muridke, the residence of the Masjid wa Markaz Taiba, Lashkar-e-Taiba’s ideological center. Abdul Malik and Mudassir were among the fatalities in this targeted strike. Other key targets in Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, and Kotli were also struck, dismantling Lashkar-e-Taiba’s terror network in the region.

Operation Sindoor was unprecedented in its strategic accuracy. The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force collaborated on the attack, targeting nine terror camps with precision strikes. Notably, Indian forces refrained from attacking Pakistani military bases, highlighting India’s targeted strategy to kill terrorism without unnecessarily raising tensions.

Global Reactions to the Strike

The international community has been following these events closely. Although there have been some expressions of concern from some nations regarding possible escalation, the majority have recognized India’s action as a proportionate response to cross-border terrorism. The operation asserted India’s resolve to its anti-terror campaign and safeguarding its national security.

Killing Abdul Malik and Mudassir is a major success in India’s war on terror. Operation Sindoor shows India’s firm determination to act decisively against those who pose a threat to its security. It is a strong message to cross-border terrorist organizations that India will act decisively and promptly to secure its citizens.

</excerpt>

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has confirmed a fatal alliance of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and the Pakistan Army in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which terrorists murdered 26 individuals, the majority of whom were tourists.

The NIA’s initial report states that overground workers (OGWs) within Jammu & Kashmir were the largest facilitators to allow the attack. The handlers of the attack were based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and India has officially blamed Pakistan, which prompted robust diplomatic and military warnings of reprisal.

Coordinated Cross-Border Conspiracy

According to NIA sources, the Pahalgam massacre planning wasn’t in isolation. It was orchestrated attack by LeT, ISI, and the Pakistan Army together. The group that had taken responsibility — The Resistance Front (TRF) — is LeT’s proxy, employed to project an image of local militancy.

But the evidence of the NIA connects the terror module with Pakistan’s official and unofficial arms directly.

The report highlights the central role of overground workers, who supplied logistics, shelter, finance, and ground-level advice to the attackers. These civilian-attired enablers did not bear arms, but they facilitated the attack.

The NIA has already identified known OGWs in Jammu and Kashmir and is making preparations for administrative and judicial action against them.

India’s Strategic and Diplomatic Response

India has responded vigorously to the Pahalgam attack. The government has put the Indus Waters Treaty on abeyance, has expelled all Pakistani nationals, and closed Indian airspace to Pakistan-based flights.

PM Narendra Modi also made a stern statement, stating, “India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers.” Spoken in English in a public speech in Bihar, Modi’s statement was a clear message to the world — India will strike back.

A looming military revenge?

With Pakistan on notice and global eyes watching, a cross-border military response now looks more and more likely. India has taken statements from 150 people and carried out 3-D mapping of the attack area. The case is the most serious since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, both in terms of size and geopolitical consequences.

A fresh layer of worry arises as the NIA reconstructs the Pahalgam attack using 3-D mapping. This technology-based probe indicates a hybrid warfare strategy — where asymmetric terrorism is combined with high-tech reconnaissance. The assailants operated with high situational awareness, indicating advanced pre-attack planning beyond OGW support.

This attack may prove to be a tipping point in India-Pakistan relations. By officially connecting LeT, ISI, and Pakistan Army, the NIA has made state-sponsored terrorism and proxy war indistinguishable. India’s reaction may redefine deterrence norms in South Asia.

</excerpt>

On April 22, 2025, a brutal terrorist crime disrupted the peace in Pahalgam, a town that was once famous for its serenity. What was a peaceful night for tourists soon turned into chaos. The brutal attack took 26 innocent lives—25 Indians and one Nepali tourist—leaving the country in shock. This was no act of random violence.

Hashim Musa, a Pakistani-trained man from the elite Special Services Group (SSG), pulled the trigger. Musa wasn’t a ordinary terrorist, he had been an army soldier of Pakistan’s forces prior to taking up membership of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

This raid was terrorism—and then some, a harsh reminder that Pakistan’s military establishments tolerate terrorism not passively but quite actively.

Scenic Evening Turns to Horror

Evening at Pahalgam started as usual. Travelers enjoyed the magnificence of snow-capped mountains and valleys full of flowers. There were honeymooners, devotees, and families, all in search of peace and calm. But that peace was short-lived. Terror outfit Resistance Front (TRF), which has close connections with Pakistan-based outfits, took responsibility for the attack.

In the wake, Indian intelligence discovered a chilling fact: Hashim Musa, the main attacker, was a former member of Pakistan’s top SSG. This clandestine unit is known for its stealthy and high-risk operations. This was not an impulsive act of violence. This was a military-grade operation, carried out with chilling precision.

Hand Behind the Trigger: Pakistan’s Elite War Machines

The Special Services Group (SSG) is not an ordinary fighting unit. It is Pakistan’s military pride. These agents—saboteurs, high-altitude fighters, and stealth masters—are meant to guard Pakistan’s borders. But they consistently cross those borders, entering India, training proxy terrorists, and conducting terror raids masquerading as local insurgencies.

This network is not in isolation. At its core is Pakistan’s infamous intelligence organization, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). For decades, ISI has funded, equipped, and harbored outfits such as LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and the Haqqani Network.

Rather than fighting extremism, ISI has militarized it, employing terrorism as an instrument of statecraft to advance Pakistan’s national interests at the cost of international stability.

Pattern of Terror: Not an Isolated Incident

The Pahalgam attack is not singular. India has witnessed a harrowing pattern of attacks traced back to Pakistan’s military and intelligence outfits. SSG commandos infiltrated the Line of Control during the 1999 Kargil War, posing as militants. The 2008 Mumbai attacks, orchestrated by LeT with the backing of ISI, resulted in more than 160 fatalities.

The Uri attack of 2016, perpetrated by Pakistani terrorists, also attested to a grim reality: these attacks are not ad hoc. They are carefully planned and funded by Pakistan’s military and intelligence establishment.

In both instances, one incontrovertible factor is present: the direct action of Pakistan’s military or intelligence agencies. These are not “non-state actors” or so-called rogue elements. These are agents of mayhem operating with the active support or silent connivance of foreign policy-makers in Pakistan.

Global Implications of Pakistan’s Terror Nexus

The global community has closed its eyes for years to Pakistan’s perilous double game. One day it says it fights terror; the next, it gives shelter to well-known radicals. This is its duplicity that hurts India, destabilizes Afghanistan, and imperils Europe and even the US.

Why then does this hypocrisy persist? Pakistan knows how to use its geopolitical leverage. By acting as a go-between between China and the West, it walks a high-wire act on the international front while exporting terror at the same time. Until the international community wakes up, innocent blood will keep flowing.

Justice Demands More Than Words

The Pahalgam massacre has to be an alarm call. An SSG-trained militant leaving no ambiguity of complicity whatsoever cannot be and the world can no longer entertain any denials on the part of Pakistan, not to mention devious deflection: the terrorist surrogates of Pakistan and its military forces are synonymous.

It is time for global institutions—like the UN, FATF, and regional alliances—to have real consequences. Uniformed perpetrators who enable terrorism need to be brought before international courts, barred from travel, and subject to financial penalties.

Breaking the Cycle of Terror

The Pahalgam tragedy is not only an Indian problem; it’s a world issue. If a state employs terrorism as a means to achieve an end, anyone can be unsafe anywhere. Anything that has happened in Kashmir today can spread to Kabul, Paris, or New York tomorrow.

Accountability starts with the truth. The truth is unequivocal and irrefutable: Pakistan’s SSG and ISI are complicit not only in terrorism—they are behind the construction of a transnational network of terror. The network becomes bolder day by day.

Pakistan X Corps and the Continued Threat to Terrorism in Kashmir

<excerpt>The Pahalgam attack has reignited concerns over Pakistan’s military links to terrorism in Kashmir, spotlighting X Corps’ role.
</excerpt>

The Pahalgam, Kashmir, terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, resulted in the deaths of 26 and injured several others, jolting Kashmir’s tenuous peace. The violence, perpetrated by the Resistance Front (TRF)—a front for Pakistan-sponsored Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)—demonstrates Pakistan’s continued role in Kashmir’s bloodshed.

The attack took place close to the LoC, a region long dominated by Pakistan’s military intelligence. Despite India’s attempts to stabilize the region, Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism continues to be a significant hurdle to peace.

Role of Pakistan’s X Corps in Kashmir’s Turmoil

Pahalgam attack highlights Pakistan’s strong ties with terror groups in Kashmir. Pakistan’s 12th Infantry Division, being a part of Pakistan’s X Corps, serves as an instrument for training and assisting infiltrators across the LoC. Logistic support is also provided by bases in northern parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir for terrorists to get into India. Intelligence intercepts indicate that Pakistan’s military is also engaged in planning attacks, not as wayward elements but as a larger strategy to destabilize the area.

While the international community tends to overlook this military engagement, the facts are undeniable. Terror organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed act with tacit support from Pakistan’s military, employing Kashmir as a strategic weapon. Pakistan’s employment of proxy forces to further its territorial ambitions has turned it into a center for terrorism in the region. This support feeds violence and ensnares Kashmir in a cycle of conflict, keeping it from achieving lasting peace.

Pakistan’s Strategic Support for Terrorism

For decades, Pakistan has used terrorism as an instrument in Kashmir. The support of groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed by the military is at the heart of this policy. It is through this “proxy war” strategy that Pakistan can intimidate India without directly fighting it. By arming these entities, training them, and providing them with sanctuaries, Pakistan maintains Kashmir in chaos and prevents India from stabilizing the region.

Despite increased international acknowledgment of Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism, Islamabad still refuses to acknowledge its involvement in such operations. The attack on Pahalgam serves as another reminder of the human cost this policy exacts on India, and regional stability at large.

International Community’s Complicity

Although the international community has strong evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism, it is in most cases quite silent. Pakistan is usually spoken of as being a victim of terrorism, whereas it is a major perpetrator. This silence has enabled Pakistan to keep supporting terrorists with impunity. The world not condemning Pakistan is motivating the sustenance of such harmful policies.

International pressure on Pakistan to end its support for terrorism has been feeble. With no severe consequences, Pakistan’s deep state continues to employ terrorism as an instrument of statecraft. In the meantime, India pays the price for defending itself against these attacks. The Pahalgam tragedy emphasizes the imperative for stronger international denunciation of Pakistan’s role in encouraging terrorism.

</excerpt>

Pakistan is grappling with a severe terrorism crisis following a recent attack on the Bannu Cantonment, which resulted in the deaths of eight military personnel and numerous injuries. The assault was attributed to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, based in Afghanistan, and comes amid rising violence from the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In response, Pakistan has demanded “immediate, robust, and effective action” from the interim Afghan government against these terror groups, summoning the deputy head of mission of the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad for a formal protest.

Islamabad’s stance highlights the deepening concerns over the presence of terrorist groups within Afghanistan, which Pakistan claims pose a significant threat to its national security. This latest incident has reignited fears over regional peace and security, with Pakistan reiterating its calls for Kabul to curb terrorist activities on its soil.

Ironically, Pakistan’s reaction mirrors its longstanding approach to similar situations involving India. Historically, Pakistan has consistently denied or downplayed allegations of terrorism and security concerns raised by India. For years, India has issued numerous demarches and provided dossiers to Pakistan, detailing evidence of terrorist activities linked to Pakistani-based groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). These documents have often included evidence from major attacks, such as the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the 2016 Pathankot Air Base attack, and the 2019 Pulwama attack.

Despite these repeated efforts, Pakistan has frequently disputed or rejected the evidence presented by India, leading to ongoing diplomatic friction and unresolved issues regarding terrorism and ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

As Pakistan faces its own terrorism challenges, the parallel with India’s experience underscores a cycle of denial and diplomatic contention over the issue of terrorism. While Pakistan now seeks urgent action from Afghanistan, it remains to be seen if this will lead to a broader change in its approach towards international terrorism and the complex dynamics of regional security.

In a major operation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched simultaneous searches at 19 locations in South India, successfully dismantling a highly radicalized jihadi terror group, according to official sources.

The anti-terror agency, in collaboration with state police forces, initiated the raids early this morning, targeting sites predominantly associated with suspects linked to the uncovered jihadi group. Operational secrecy was maintained, and specific details about the locations and the group were not disclosed due to ongoing operational considerations.

Sources reveal that the targeted terror group has been actively involved in anti-India activities, focusing on planning attacks and recruiting youths. The NIA’s intervention follows recent raids in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where the agency probed the radicalization of prisoners by a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist.

On December 13, the NIA conducted extensive searches at six locations, including the residences of four accused individuals and premises connected to two other suspects. Notably, one of the accused remains at large. The raids, conducted as part of the ongoing investigation (RC-28/2023/NIA/DLI), yielded substantial evidence, including digital devices, incriminating documents, and a cash amount of Rs 7.3 lakhs.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Faisal Rabbani, Tanveer Ahmed, and Mohammed Farooq, along with absconder Junaid Ahmed, are implicated in a case registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Explosive Substances Act, 1884. Presently, three individuals involved in the case remain fugitives.
