Indian Student Tragically Shot Dead in Chicago

Sai Teja Nukarapu, a 22-year-old student from Telangana in India, was shot and killed at a petrol pump in Chicago on Friday. He had been working part-time while studying in the US.

Incident Details

Sai Teja was not on duty when the shooting occurred. Instead, he was helping a friend who had asked him to stay on. Armed men attacked him at the pump, leading to his death. Sai Teja had moved to the US to pursue an MBA after completing his graduation in India.

Response from the Indian Consulate

The Consulate General of India in Chicago quickly condemned the murder and called for immediate action against the perpetrators. They also pledged to assist the victim’s family. The consulate posted on X, “We are shocked and deeply sad at the murder of Indian student Nukarapu Sai Teja. We demand immediate action against the culprits. The Consulate will extend all possible help to the family and friends of the victim.”

Indian Army Dog Phantom Killed In J&K’s Akhnoor During Anti-Terror Op

In an eight-hour gunbattle on Monday between terrorists and security forces along the Line of Control in Jammu’s Akhnoor sector, an Indian Army dog named Phantom lost his life. The firefight commenced around 7 am when terrorists attacked an ambulance in an army convoy traveling through the Battal area of Akhnoor’s Khour, about 85 km from Jammu city.

Phantom, a male Belgian Malinois trained as an assault dog, was stationed in the area since August 12, 2022, and had been issued from the RVC Centre in Meerut, according to officials.

Army dogs like Phantom are equipped with specialized gadgets, enabling them to gather intelligence on enemy positions from close range. Three terrorists are believed to have engaged security forces in this encounter. The lone terrorist killed was reportedly dressed in clothing resembling the army’s combat fatigues.

Officials suggest that the terrorist belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammad group. The confrontation occurred amid a recent surge in terror attacks across Jammu and Kashmir, with over eight incidents in the past two weeks resulting in more than a dozen casualties.

On October 24, terrorists targeted a convoy of Rashtriya Rifles personnel and civilian porters en route to the Nagin post in the Afrawat range, ambushing two army trucks near Botapathri, 6 km from Gulmarg. This attack led to the deaths of two soldiers and two civilian porters.

Just days earlier, on October 20, terrorists killed seven individuals at a construction site in Sonamarg, Ganderbal district, including a doctor and six migrant workers. Another migrant worker from Bihar was attacked two days prior to this incident.

Man, 23, Found Dead In Bihar’s Belawan Over Suspected Love Affair

A distressing event unfolded in Belawan village, located in Bihar’s Kaimur district, where a 23-year-old man was brutally killed on Friday night reportedly due to a suspected romantic relationship. His lifeless body was discovered with a slit throat at a temple in Sonara village near Belawan the following Saturday morning, as verified by law enforcement authorities.

Identified as Pankaj Kumar, the victim was said to have been romantically involved with a girl from their village, who had recently married in Maharashtra. His family stumbled upon his lifeless body on Saturday morning after he did not return home the previous Friday evening.

Upon being informed about the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and gathered statements from the deceased’s relatives. The relatives demanded the apprehension of those accountable and resisted the removal of the body.

Following the intervention of senior officials, the body was transported to the Bhabua Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, with assurances of taking action against the perpetrators.
The victim’s family was informed about the incident by locals around 6 am on Saturday and accused the girl’s family of involvement in the murder.

“He left around 4 pm, bought vegetables, and sent them home with a child. When he didn’t return, we searched for him until midnight, assuming he was with friends,” said his paternal aunt.

Bhabua SDPO Shiv Shankar Kumar stated that the young man was purportedly murdered over a romantic involvement, and authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with the crime.

“As per information received by us, the youth was murdered in the temple premises on Friday night. Two suspected individuals have been arrested by us. Further probe is underway,” said the SDOP.

Israeli airstrike kills Hamas financier

Tragedy Strikes in China : Gas blast at Chinese restaurant kills 31, injures 7

At least 31 people tragically perished in a gas explosion at a BBQ restaurant in Yinchuan City, China’s Ningxia province, according to CNN. Seven additional people were hurt in the event. The explosion, which happened on Wednesday at around 8:40 p.m., was reportedly brought on by a leak in a liquid petrol tank within the restaurant, according to state broadcaster CCTV. One victim is still in serious condition, but the other injured people are being treated for minor wounds, burns, and cuts brought on by shattered glass.

Local fire authorities promptly responded to the incident, dispatching 20 vehicles and over 100 personnel to the scene. Rescue and search operations continued until 4 am local time, as reported by state media.

Pakistan :Heavy downpour lashes 4 districts ,7 killed & 72 injured

According to Dawn, torrential rain that hit three districts of the Bannu division near the provincial capital on Sunday evening resulted in at least seven fatalities and 72 injuries. Two individuals were killed and five others were hurt in the province capital, while five people were killed and 67 others were hurt in the Bannu division. Pervaiz Sabatkhel, Commissioner of Bannu told Dawn that heavy rains coupled with strong winds lashed out at the districts of Bannu, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan. According to him, the Bannu district saw three fatalities and 51 injuries, while the Lakki Marwat district saw one fatality and 16 injuries. One person died in the district of North Waziristan.Dawn is an English-language Pakistan-based newspaper.

He said that teams were dispatched to the affected areas to estimate losses and that the district administrations had been put on alert. He claimed that all available resources were being employed to provide prompt help to the disaster-stricken population.

France: Multiple injured, including children, in Annecy knife attack

PM Modi offers Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to families of deceased in Jammu Road accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the road accident in Jammu and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand for people who sustained injuries.
At least 10 people were killed and around 55 injured when a bus fell into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Tuesday morning. “Expressing grief on the bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir, PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000,” PMO tweeted.
According to officials, the bus was on its way to Katra from Amritsar when the incident took place near Jhajjar Kotli – about 15 km from Katra in Jammu district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Chandan Kohli on Tuesday said that all the injured were shifted to the hospital and are undergoing treatment.

Teenager killed in Noida while attempting to break up a fight.

Tavis Yadav was the deceased’s name, according to Noida Police. According to the police, Tavis was shot while attempting to break up a fight between the accused and his maternal uncle. He was rushed to the hospital, where his injuries caused him to pass away.

Odisha: Three Naxalites killed in encounter with police

Three Naxalites were killed, while another was arrested during an encounter with police personnel in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, the police said on Tuesday.

As per initial reports, a fierce encounter broke out between police personnel and the ultras at the Taperenga-Lubengad forest area under Madanpur-Rampur police limits. According to Superintendent of Police (SP), Kalahandi, Abilash G, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) also sustained injuries in the encounter.

“The DSP has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Hospital in Bolangir,” SP, Kalahandi said, adding that an AK 47 Rifle also sized from the spot.

55-year-old man killed in Delhi

Security personnel killed two naxals in encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Security forces on Monday killed two naxals, including a Local Operation Squad (LOS) commander carrying a cash bounty of Rs 8 lakh on his head, in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district. It has been considered a major success for the security personnel against the naxals.

The encounter occurred at a forest area of Danteshpuram under Bhejji police station this morning, said Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Sharma.

A joint team of DRG, COBRA 202 battalion (an elite unit of CRPF), 219 battalion of CRPF, and other forces were placed at the location during the morning hours after getting a tip-off about the presence of the Golapalli LOS commander and other naxals in the forest of Danteshpuram, the officer said.

However, the forces were returning after conducting a search operation in the forest area, the naxals attacked Sukma DRG at around 5:30 am, the officer said, and then the security personnel launched a retaliatory action.

After the encounter, security personnel conducted a search operation and recovered the bodies of two slain naxals, including a woman, SP Sharma said.

Weapons, arms, ammunition, and other daily consumable articles were recovered from the encounter site, the officer said.

Earlier on 1 May naxals torched two tipper trucks engaged in construction work in the Ittapara area of Sukma district, said SP Sukma, Sunil Sharma.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Phulbagdi police station.

As per SP Sharma, three labourers were rescued safely and brought to Phulbagdi police station.

Tragedy in Rajasthan: Indian Air Force MiG-21 crash kills 3 civilians

A total of three civilians were killed after the wreckage of the Indian Air Force MiG-21 aircraft fell on a house in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district on Monday morning, the IAF said today.

The aircraft had taken off from the Suratgarh airbase for a routine exercise when it crashed near Bahlol Nagar in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh due to an “onboard emergency.” The mishap took place at around 9.25 am.

“Soon after the take-off, the pilot experienced an onboard emergency, following which he attempted to recover the aircraft as per existing procedures. Having failed to do so, he initiated an ejection, sustaining minor injuries in the process. The pilot was recovered from about 25 kilometres North East of Suratgarh’s base,” IAF said in the statement.

“The aircraft wreckage fell on a house in Bahlol Nagar in Hanumangarh District, unfortunately leading to the loss of three lives. The IAF regrets the loss of lives and offers its deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” it added.
The Indian Air Force has ordered a court of inquiry to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The MiG-21 fleet is on its last leg and all the remaining three aircraft from the fleet are planned to be poached out by 2025.Earlier in January, one pilot lost his life after two IAF fighter jets – a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000 – crashed during a training exercise.
While one aircraft crashed in Morena in Madhya Pradesh, the other crashed and landed in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur.

UP gangster Anil Dujana killed in encounter in Meerut

The special task force of Uttar Pradesh’s police shot dead another gangster in an encounter.

Anil Dujana was famous for terrorising people in several cities in Uttar Pradesh, like Noida, Ghaziabad, and some of the Delhi-NCR regions. The gangster was killed in an encounter with the police in Meerut.

10 policemen, 1 person killed in Maoist attack at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Maoist Attack: According to officials, the officers were returning from an anti-Maoist operation that had been started as a result of intelligence inputs.

As per the officials in Chhattisgarh, on Thursday, 10 cops and their driver were killed when their van was exploded by an improvised explosive device (IED) by Naxals in the Baster district of Chhattisgarh. On that vehicle, the policemen belong to the District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel, a special force of the Chhattisgarh police that comprises mostly local tribals who have been trained to combat Maoists.

According to officials, the officers were returning from an anti-Maoist operation that had been started as a result of intelligence inputs.

In several successful operations against the rebels in Bastar, the DRG has played a key role, a hotbed of left-wing extremism.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and took stoke of the incident and HM also assured the Chhattisgarh CM that the centre would give all possible help.

Andhra Pradesh’s student Eluru killed at fuel station firing in US

Vijayawada: Shootings in the United States once again created a stir. In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old Telugu youth named Saiesha Veera, hailing from Eluru in Andhra Pradesh, was shot dead at a fuel station on West Broad Street at Franklinton in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday.

The Telugu student went to the United States to pursue his master’s degree, and along with his studies, he was engaged at the Shell fuel station as a clerk.

After the shooting incident, he was taken to Grant Medical Centre, but medical staff declared him dead around 1.27 am. The CCTV footage was recovered.

Saiesh landed in the US after the death of his father and was survived by his mother and a brother in India.

One of his close friends, Punith Ragubadhi, in the United States told the local media that he was on the brink of quitting his current job but this tragedy occurred.

The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has been working on a war footing to airlift the body of Eluru within two days and bring it to the deceased’s native place.

The incident recalled the shooting of three Indian students while they were walking to Walmart in Chicago, when two armed assailants came in a car and intercepted them. They robbed everything they had in their possession, and when the trio tried to flee from the spot, they started firing arbitrarily, killing one named Devansh and wounding his other friend Sai Charan, while the third, Lakshman, managed to escape.

Six policemen killed in road accident in Pakistan

As many as six policemen were killed after a car and a truck collided with each other on the Quetta-Karachi national highway in the Wadh area, as per the news report.
On Saturday night, according to Khuzdar SSP Fahad Khoso, the personnel on night, were on their way to Quetta. A truck coming from the opposite side hit the car, killing all six men on the spot and some persons sustained injuries.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed concern on Sunday at the callous killing of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf while in police custody on Saturday night, saying such incidents occur where there is no law.

Such incidents can happen with anyone if there is no rule of law,” Rajasthan CM Gehlot said on the killings of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed on Saturday. “To kill a person in full public glare is very easy but maintaining law and order in the state is difficult,” he added.

Gehlot, however, warned mafia and gangsters active in his state that their fates could also be the same as the slain UP ganglord.Days after Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad was killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, the mafia-turned-politician and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were killed on Saturday while being taken for a medical examination in Prayagraj.

Avalanche hit Sikkim as seven killed and 80 people trapped

An avalanche at 15th Mile in Jawaharlal Nehru road connecting Gangtok with Nathula killed seven tourists while over 80 are feared trapped under the snow, said police officials.
The avalanche occurred on Tuesday around 12.20 pm.
The seven people succumbed to injuries in a nearby Army Hospital include 4 males, one woman and a child. According to the police, over 150 tourists are still stranded beyond the 15th mile. Meanwhile, 30 tourists who got trapped under the snow have been rescued and admitted to STNM Hospital and Central Referral Hospital in Gangtok.

Currently rescue operations are being carried out by Sikkim Police, Travel Agents Association of Sikkim, Tourism department officials, and vehicle drivers.

7 students killed, 4 injured in auto-truck collision in Chhattisgarh

Seven school children were killed and four severely wounded after the auto-rickshaw they were in collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district. According to Inspector General,Bastar, P Sundarraj, “The accident took place near Korar village in Kanker district”. The injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital in Korar. Condoling the loss of lives in the incident, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel tweeted, “The news of the death of 5 school children in a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a truck at Korar Chilhati Chowk in Kanker district is heartbreaking. Four children were seriously injured in the incident and all possible help is being extended by the health department to them. May God give courage to the families of the dead. Instructions have been given to the administration to provide all possible help.”

Helicopter crashes near Ukraine; 18 killed among Ukraine internal minister

In the helicopter crash, 18 people, including Ukraine’s interior affairs minister, were killed on Wednesday. The crash occurred beside a nursery in an eastern suburb of the capital, Kyiv.

Meanwhile, the regional governor said 29 people were also hurt, including 15 children.
Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi died along with Yevheniy Yenin and the ministry’s state secretary. Under President Volodymyr Zelensky in 2021 Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi was appointed.

“As a result of the crash in Brovary, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was killed. They were in the helicopter of the State Emergency Service,” police chief Ihor Klymenko said.

However, on social media, a video was shared in which a building was burning and people could be heard screaming.

“There were children and … staff in the nursery at the time of this tragedy,” Kyiv region governor Oleksiy Kuleba said.

“Unfortunately this happened with a state emergency service helicopter which was fulfilling its task,” Air force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat

However, after the incident there was no immediate comment from Russia and Ukrainian officials have also not made any reference to any Russian attack in the area at the time.

Panipat: Six family members killed in LPG blast

A man, his wife, and their four children were killed in the massive blast.

UP boy killed after being hit and dragged by car

In an incident bearing an imprint of the hit-and-drag horror in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri on New Year’s night, a delivery boy was killed after being hit by an unidentified car and dragged away on the night of January 1, the victim’s family alleged on Wednesday.
An FIR filed by the Uttar Pradesh Police stated that the incident took place at 1am near Noida’s 14 A flyover.

The family alleged that the driver of the car dragged the delivery boy after hitting him.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
In the earlier incident in Delhi’s Khanjawala, a 20-year-old woman, riding a scooter, was killed after being hit and dragged for several kilometres by a car driven by five youths.
All five youths were arrested.

1 student killed, 40 others injured in bus accident in Kerala

In Kerala’s Idukki, a tourist bus plunged down a gorge, killing one engineering student and injuring 40 others. Students from an engineering college in Tirur were returning from a study tour when the disaster happened early on Sunday.
