Bangladesh’s ‘Ocean Guardian’ Remark Sparks Tension

In Beijing, Muhammad Yunus had termed Bangladesh as the “sole guardian of the ocean” for India’s Seven Sister landlocked states. He challenged China to turn Bangladesh into an economic hub that could feed into Chinese production and international exports. The going-viral statement roused political vitriol in India.

Scindia didn’t mince words. “Some nations might not be landlocked, but they don’t possess the muscle of India’s Ashtalakshmi,” he told, referring to the eight states in the northeast. He emphasized that the states are all increasing at almost 12%—way above national averages. This speed, he asserted, is what makes the region the fulcrum of India’s economic boom.

Northeast as India’s Global Gateway

Growth figures only, Scindia highlighted the way Northeast India is intricately linked to international trade. He took examples—Tripura pineapples soaring to Germany and Nagaland chillies reaching Dubai—to make the case that the region is already influencing international markets. “Our ability to influence the Global North as well as South is phenomenal,” he added.

He also reminded the audience that the Northeast has more than 6,000 km of international borders. “Its connectivity with the Global South is unparalleled,” he stated. “We need to look outward—not only at the Global North, but at the South too.”

BJP to Send Notices to Gadkari, Scindia and Other MPs Absent During Key Bill Introduction

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will soon issue notices to its Lok Sabha members who were absent during the introduction of the ‘One Nation, One Election‘ bills on Tuesday. Notably, prominent leaders like Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Giriraj Singh were among those missing.

Earlier, the BJP had issued a three-line whip, directing all MPs to attend the session. Consequently, the party is now questioning the absent members. According to sources quoted by ANI, it remains unclear if the MPs had informed the party of their absence in advance or missed the session due to other commitments.

Bills Introduced in Lok Sabha

On Tuesday, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced two significant bills:

The Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024
The Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024

These bills aim to implement simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. However, opposition members protested the move and demanded a division of votes. During the voting process, 269 MPs supported the introduction, while 196 opposed it.

Bills Referred to Joint Parliamentary Committee

Following the voting, the bills were referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for further deliberations. Explaining the decision, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recommended sending the bills to the JPC for detailed discussions.

BJP MPs Missing During the Vote

Interestingly, around 20 BJP MPs, including senior leaders and ministers, were absent during the crucial session. These included Nitin Gadkari, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Giriraj Singh, and CR Patil. In addition, other members like Shantanu Thakur, Jagdambika Pal, BY Raghavendra, Vijay Baghel, Udayraje Bhonsale, and Chintamani Maharaj also missed the division of votes.

Although their absence did not affect the introduction of the bills, it gave the opposition an opportunity to criticize the BJP. For instance, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor claimed that while the government had enough votes for the introduction, it lacked the numbers required to pass the bills. He urged the government to reconsider its persistence on the matter.

Challenges Ahead

Moving forward, the government faces significant challenges. While only a simple majority was required to introduce the bills, a two-thirds majority will be necessary to pass the constitutional amendments. Therefore, the BJP must address internal coordination issues and build consensus to ensure the bills’ success. Tech billionaire Elon Musk expressed his gratitude to India’s Telecom Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, for opposing the auction of satellite spectrum, which would have favored Indian business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Sunil Bharti Mittal. In a post on the social media platform X, Musk stated, “Much appreciated! We will do our best to serve the people of India with Starlink,” indicating his commitment to expanding Starlink’s services in the country.

Standoff Over Satellite Spectrum

Musk’s comments come amid ongoing tensions between him and Indian billionaires over the allocation of satellite spectrum. Recently, Reliance Jio, led by Ambani, requested a revision of a consultation paper that outlines the terms for assigning spectrum for satellite-based communication services.

Trai Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti addressed the media regarding the consultation process initiated by the Telecom Department. He noted, “We have received a reference from the Telecom Department…the consultation process is on, we will consider all inputs and views that are received during the consultation process and we will come out with our considered recommendations.”

Reliance Jio’s Perspective

Ambani’s Reliance Jio has been advocating for the auction of satellite spectrum to create a level playing field for traditional telecom operators who invest in infrastructure like towers. Meanwhile, Mittal has also supported the idea that satellite companies should be able to acquire spectrum as telecom operators do.

Musk’s Push for Administrative Allotment

In contrast, Musk’s Starlink is seeking an administrative allotment of licenses, a trend observed globally, as it aims to enter one of the fastest-growing mobile telephony and internet markets. Telecom Minister Scindia has backed this administrative approach, confirming that satellite spectrum will be allocated without an auction process.

Scindia explained that the recent Telecom Act of 2023 has classified the matter in ‘Schedule 1’, indicating that spectrum for satellite communications will be allocated administratively. However, he clarified, “That does not mean that spectrum does not come without a cost…it will be decided by Trai.”

Speaking at the India News event organised by The Sunday Guardian Foundation, he underscored India’s remarkable economic ascent, pointing out that the country has advanced from the 11th to the 5th position among the world’s largest economies.
Scindia highlighted the ongoing efforts of his ministry. He expressed optimism about India’s advancements in the telecom sector, noting the country’s significant progress from being a follower in 4G to becoming a leader in 6G. “India is transitioning from being a follower in 4G, keeping pace with 5G, to leading in 6G. This growth is evident across all sectors,” he remarked.
Addressing the price hikes by telecom giants like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone, Scindia noted that India offers the most affordable internet globally. The cost of 1 GB has decreased significantly from Rs 270 in 2014 to just Rs 9 in 2024. Similarly, voice call costs have dropped from 51 paise per minute in 2014 to just 3 paise per minute this year. The capital expenditure for 5G is set at Rs. 4,26 crore, and the recent tariff increases are minimal compared to global standards. Regarding 5G, Scindia revealed that 17 crore customers have adopted the new technology, with 4.5 lakh transmission systems installed across the country.
The deployment of 19 lakh base transceiver stations (BTS) for 4G highlights the extensive infrastructure in place. Quality of service remains a top priority, and Scindia emphasised the importance of India achieving self-reliance in telecommunications, citing the Tejas network as a successful example. Additionally, the number of BSNL towers is set to expand to 80,000 by October.
He added that the BSNL 4G network will be installed only when we produce our 4G stack in our country and make the whole world aware that India has become a leader in the telecom sector. Lok Sabha Election Results Update 2024: Jyotiraditya Scindia Leads In MP’s Guna Constituency

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia is leading in the Guna seat, with a huge margin of 5,20,000 votes, challenging Congress candidate Rao Yadvendra Singh.

This is Scindia’s fourth bid from this constituency.

Earlier in 2019, Scindia, aged 53, contested Guna constituency on a Congress ticket, but was defeated by BJP’s Krishna Pal Singh with a margin of 10.65%., despite being a scindia stronghold.

His grandmother Vijay Raje Scindia, also known as the Rajmata of Gwalior, represented the seat for four consecutive terms from 1989 to 1998 as a BJP member.

Later, his father held the seat for four terms from 1971 to 1980 as a Congress member, winning last election in 1999 until his death on September 30, 2001.

Following his father’s death and the vacancy of the seat, Jyotiraditya Scindia officially joined the Congress party and contested by-election from this seat in February 2002, thus, winning the constituency by defeating BJP’s Desh Singh Yadav.

Later, he continued to win the seat consecutively in 2004, 2009, and 2014.

During his tenure, he held significant government positions, including Union minister of state for telecommunications, commerce and industry, and power with independent charge.

But, in 2020, he defected from the Congress to join BJP, along with 22 of his loyalist MLAs in Madhya Pradesh, leading to BJP forming the government in the state, despite t Congress coming to power in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections with Kamal Nath as chief minister.

Following his switch to the BJP, Scindia was later nominated to Rajya Sabha and was given the position of civil aviation minister, a position once held by his father.

Madhavi Raje Scindia, the mother of Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi on Wednesday morning. Known for her philanthropic endeavors in education and healthcare, her mortal remains will be transported to Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, for the final rites.

Madhavi Raje Scindia had been receiving medical treatment in a Delhi hospital for the past few months, and her condition had deteriorated significantly. Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is contesting for the BJP in the Guna parliamentary constituency, along with his wife Priyadarshini Raje and son Mahaaryaman Scindia, had to suspend their election campaign midway to be by her side.

Speaking in Guna, Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized his familial connection with the public, stating, “I am not a minister or merely a leader; I am a member of your family.” Addressing a gathering in Bamori, Guna district, Scindia stressed the historical sacrifices of the Scindia family for the region’s development.

Scindia stressed the need for widespread voter participation, expressing worry over previous stages’ low voter turnout. Campaigning alongside Scindia, former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attributed crucial roles to him, citing the Ladli Bahna Yojana as one that impacted state assembly elections.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, targeted Jyotiraditya Scindia, and said that the Union Minister will lose the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the same manner that he lost the 2019 general elections.

ANi reported that the Congress leader passed the remark in Guna district on Monday after arriving in the state as part of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

When asked if a Congress candidate from the Guna constituency would be able to unseat Scindia, Ramesh responded, “The way Jyotiraditya Scindia lost elections in 2019, he will lose the same way in 2024 as well.”

Notably, Union Minister Scindia from the Guna constituency was included on the initial list of 195 candidates the BJP issued on Saturday for the Lok Sabha elections.
In 2020, Scindia left the Congress to become a member of the BJP.

Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia responded to the recent chaos at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport, where dense fog led to severe flight delays, assuring passengers of measures to mitigate future disruptions.

In a statement posted on X, Minister Scindia acknowledged the previous day’s exceptional fog conditions, with visibility varying and, at times, dipping to zero between 5 and 9 a.m. He highlighted that the decision to temporarily stop down operations, including on CAT III runways, was made with passenger safety in mind.

Operationalization of the CAT III-enabled 4th runway: Delhi Airport has been directed to expedite the operationalization of the CAT III-enabled 4th runway, complementing the existing CAT III runway. The aim is to meet the approval standards set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Issuance of SOP for Airlines: The DGCA will soon release a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) aimed at improving communication and passenger facilitation for airlines. This measure aims to minimize passenger discomfort caused by flight cancellations and delays attributed to adverse weather conditions.

Minister Scindia made an earnest request to travelers, urging them to bear with the authorities during this challenging period. He emphasized that all stakeholders are working tirelessly to minimize passenger inconvenience. Addressing incidents of unruly behavior, he warned that such actions would be dealt with strongly in line with existing legal provisions.

AAI chairman: New Rajahmundry Airport terminal to be operational by the end of 2025

At Rajahmundry Airport, the new terminal building is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, following the laying of the foundation stone on Sunday.

“We expect it to be completed by the next two years. So let’s say by December 2025,” Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman Airports Authority of India, said minutes after the foundation stone was laid by Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The new terminal building would be spread over 17,000 square meters. The current terminal is spread over 4000 square meters.

The new terminal will be able to cater eight to ten flights per hour, AAI Chairman told said. “It will have the capacity of 2,000 passengers in the peak hour.”
The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport is estimated to cost about Rs 350 crore.
Giving details about the terminal, the AAI Chairman said it will have 30 check-in encounters, eight security lanes with express machines, and three aerobridges.

“So the modern terminal which we see in our metropolitan city would also be developed in Rajahmundry Airport,” he said.
“As of now, it is connected to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. We hope that with bigger planes coming in, it will get connected to North India and Western India also. And also eastern India. And will improve the connectivity of Rajahmundry. With this air connectivity, I am sure this new terminal building when ready would prove to be a boon to the economy of Rajahmundry and neighbouring towns,” he added.

He stated that AAI spent roughly Rs 5,200 crore on capital expenditures in the previous year. “In fact, we have completed more than Rs 5,200 crore in capital expenditures in the last year or so, which set a record for AAI. We intend to invest more than Rs 5,000 crore this year as well,” he continued.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia: Bullet Train to be operational within three years, Ayodhya airport by December end

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated at a press conference on Friday that the first phase of the Bullet Train project will be operational in three years and that the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya will conclude construction by the end of this month. The first bullet train terminal in India was constructed at the Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub in Ahmedabad, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had previously shared an amazing video of the structure on Thursday.

“The first section of the Bullet Train will start within three years,” said Scindia.
The Aviation Minister also committed that the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya would be ready by the end of December, in time to welcome visitors for the consecration of the Holy Temple in January.

“I recently inspected the Ayodhya airport project along with UP CM Yogi Adityanath. By the end of this month, the Ayodhya airport will be fully ready. I am monitoring the project on a daily basis. PM Modi will inaugurate the airport along with flight operations,” he added.

Notably, work is underway to build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, which PM Modi is expected to dedicate on January 22. He went on to discuss the government and Vande Bharat trains, saying, “As of right now, 23 of these trains are operating throughout the nation. By 2047, we want to operate 4,500 Vande Bharat trains. In the upcoming years, the Indian government will also be working to guarantee that train carbon emissions are reduced to net zero.”

Aviation Minister Scindia Addresses Airfare Hike Issue in Lok Sabha, Citing COVID’s Impact on Airlines

During a Lok Sabha session, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia responded to concerns about airfare hikes amidst the aviation sector’s significant losses due to the COVID-19 impact, emphasizing the airlines’ sustainable operations in such challenging circumstances.

Scindia emphasized the cyclical nature of civil aviation in response to IUML MP ET Mohammed Basheer’s question about airfare increases and government control. He described the industry’s high and low seasons, noting the high season from October to mid-January and the subsequent low season from May to June before the holiday season resumes.

Acknowledging the global nature of this pattern, Scindia underscored the government’s monitoring efforts through a tariff monitoring unit, which randomly observes 60 routes. He revealed that airlines have collectively suffered substantial losses, ranging from Rs 55,000 crores to Rs 1,32,000 crores annually, severely impacting their financial viability due to the pandemic.

Despite these adversities, Scindia commended airlines for sustaining operations on a very sustainable basis. He presented data indicating a decline in fares across most routes between January and October in both 2022 and 2023, except for the seasonally adjusted high season in January, when fares naturally rise.

Moreover, Scindia addressed concerns about the disproportionate hike in airfares compared to the surge in air turbine fuel (ATF) prices, which account for about 40% of airlines’ operating costs. Despite ATF prices rising significantly from Rs 55,000 to Rs 1,50,000 per kilolitre, airfares did not see a commensurate increase.

Responding to the authority for regulatory mechanisms, Scindia noted that civil aviation has operated within a deregulated framework since 1993. However, a Tariff Monitoring Unit monitors excessive pricing on specific routes and conveys concerns to airlines.

The ongoing winter session of Parliament, which commenced on December 4 and is set to conclude on December 22, remains a platform for discussing and addressing critical concerns impacting various sectors, including civil aviation, amidst the pandemic-induced challenges.

Hisar, Ambala airports developed under UDAN scheme in Haryana

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, on Monday (December 4, 2023) informed Parliament that Haryana government owned Hisar airport was identified for development and operation of flights under Centre’s Regional Connectivity Scheme.

The city was connected by air with Chandigarh 4 January 2021 by Air Taxi which had a three-seater aircraft while the second and third routes connecting Dharamshala and Dehradun respectively started on 8 February the same year. A total of 182 RCS flights were operated connecting Hisar airport from February 2021 to August 2021.

While giving the reply, Scindia also pointed out that Hisar airport was identified for development in the second round of bidding under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. However, a few months later Air Taxi discontinued the flights from 1 August 2021 due to operational reasons.

The information was given in reply to a question asked by Haryana Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma. He had asked the minister details about the number of airports under UDAN scheme opened in Haryana; the amount of Viability Gap Funding provided to these airports till date; the new airports proposed under the scheme for Haryana; the proposed date of operationalising Ambala airport along with details of scheduled/unscheduled flights planned and cities proposed to be connected initially with Ambala Airport; and the domestic air traffic from Haryana during the last three years including 2023, year-wise and airport-wise.

The minister also revealed that an amount of Rs 66,21,669 towards Viability Gap Funding (VGF) was disbursed to the selected airline operator for operation of the RCS flights. An amount of Rs 37.81 crore has already been spent on the development of Hisar airport under the Revival/Upgradation of Airports/heliports/water aerodromes.

In response to another question, Scindia stated that during the third round of bidding, Ambala airport owned by the Indian Air Force (IAF) was identified to operate RCS flights. Under UDAN 4.2 round of bidding, RCS routes Ambala-Srinagar-Ambala was awarded to FlyBig for operation of RCS flights with 19-seater aircraft. An amount of Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for development work of Civil Enclave at Ambala Airport, which is being undertaken by the Haryana government.

Country set to script history today, says Scindia ahead of lunar landing

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Wednesday that the country was on track to make history with the attempted landing of the Chandrayaan-3 lander on the unknown south pole of the Moon.

The Chandrayaan-3 lander is slated to touchdown on the Moon’s south face at roughly 18:04 hours IST, according to an official notification from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

“History will be created today. The whole country is eagerly waiting for the tricolour to go up on the lunar surface. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and through the relentless efforts of our scientists, our country is set to script history today,” Scindia told reporters on Wednesday.

“It is largely down to the hard work and excellence of our scientists and the efforts that our government has put in over nine years that our country is progressing and scripting success stories across fields. The people believe that the country will write new chapters of success in the coming days,” the Civil Aviation Minister added.

Earlier, wishing success to India’s third lunar mission, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told the media that, “The whole country is proud of our space programme. My heart is filled with joy and happiness. I want to thank all the scientists from the bottom of my heart as it is because of their excellence and hard work that we are on the cusp of history today.”

“I salute the determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership the country is breaking new grounds across spheres. Today is a day for every Indian to take pride in, to immerse in unbridled joy,” the CM added.

Meanwhile, special services and prayers were held around the state in celebration of the successful moon landing. On Wednesday morning, a special ‘Bhasma Aarti’ was performed at the Mahakaleshwar temple in the Ujjain district.

Special worship and ‘Rudrabhishek’ were held at Bhopal’s Maa Vaishno Dham Adarsh Nava Durga Temple. A vast crowd gathered at Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district to pray for the success of India’s third lunar mission.

“Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi said that for the Prime Minister, Manipur is not a part of India. This Prime Minister has connected the Northeast with the world, he has a close relationship with the Northeast. The ideology of seeing India divided is yours, not ours,” said Mr Scindia, a former Congress leader known to be close to Mr Gandhi.

“I have spent 20 years in Parliament, but I have never seen something like this. The man on country’s highest post, the Prime Minister who resides in the hearts of 140 crore Indians, the words used for him by the Opposition. I believe they will have to apologise before the people of the country, if not before Parliament,” he said in Lok Sabha during the debate on the no-confidence motion against Narendra Modi government.

“This no-confidence motion is not about Manipur, it is a pretext under which they are tying to bake their political cakes. The Prime Minister made a sensitive statement on the Manipur situation outside Parliament, but they are stubborn that he must speak inside the House,” the Civil Aviation Minister said.

He furthermore questioned why former Prime Ministers PV Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh “took a vow of silence” during earlier incidents of violence in Manipur in 1993 and 2011, respectively. “If this is not two-faced politics, politics of convenience, what is?”

He also slammed the AAP, which arose from the anti-corruption campaign during the UPA rule, for collaborating with the Congress. He claimed that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a Congress Lok Sabha member, accused the Trinamool Congress of political violence and corruption in West Bengal. “Today, the Congress, the Trinamool, and the Left have joined forces.” “This is their world,” he explained.

The statement came following the I.N.D.I.A. alliance’s protest in the parliament on Thursday. Opposition MPs of the alliance arrived at the Parliament wearing black clothes as a mark of protest against the Manipur violence. They have been insisting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a statement on Manipur violence.
However, the Government has accused the Opposition of disrupting the proceedings of both houses of the Parliament and reiterated that it is ready to hold a discussion on the issue.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “disrespecting” the Parliament with his absence from the House and instead making political speeches in poll-bound Rajasthan.
Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, Kharge said, “The House is functioning. We are demanding that the Prime Minister come there (Parliament) and make a statement. But he is giving political speeches and campaigning in Rajasthan. When he can go there, can’t he come to the House for half an hour and make a statement?”.
Notably, PM Modi on Thursday inaugurated various development projects worth crores in poll-bound Rajasthan.

Priyanka Gandhi to address rally on the home turf of Jyotiraditya Scindia

To bolster the Congress campaign in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address a public gathering on Friday in the key Gwalior-Chambal region, home turf of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Priyanka Gandhi launched the Congress campaign in Madhya Pradesh in June with a rally in Jabalpur, where she revealed the party’s five promises, including a monthly stipend of Rs 1500 for women in the state.

Priyanka Gandhi’s campaign and five pledges made by Congress are said to have played a significant influence in the party’s triumph in Karnataka elections earlier this year.

Her rally in Gwalior comes just two days after the Congress announced the introduction of the Gruhalakshmi plan in Karnataka, which provides a monthly direct transfer of Rs 2000 to the woman head of the family.

According to party sources, Priyanka Gandhi was instrumental in bringing this scheme to Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a new initiative from Jabalpur two days before Priyanka Gandhi’s rally last month, under which qualified women in the state will receive Rs 1000. Chouhan had stated that the money available under the Ladli Bahna Yojana would be raised in the future.

Jabalpur is important in terms of tribal votes, and Priyanka Gandhi’s rally was seen as an effort to focus on a constituency that the BJP is also actively courting.

On Sunday, an aircraft carrying 68 passengers and four crew members crashed in Nepal’s Pokhara. According to the spokesperson of the Nepal Army, a total of 16 bodies have been recovered from the site of the crash of a passenger aircraft. Of the 68 passengers on board, 5 were Indians.

Taking to Twitter, the office of the Prime Minister of Nepal tweeted, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident of Yeti Airlines ANC ATR 72, which was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara with passengers. I sincerely appeal to the security personnel, all agencies of the Nepal government and the general public to start an effective rescue.” Following the crash PM Pushpa reached the site to take updates on the situation.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also condoled the loss saying, “The loss of lives in a tragic plane crash in Nepal is extremely unfortunate. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the bereaved. Om Shanti.”

Kathmandu Post quoted a spokesperson of Yeti Airlines Sudarshan Bartaula as saying that the ATR 72 Yeti airlines aircraft crashed between the old airport and the Pokhara International Airport.
Images and videos of the crash posted on social media platforms showed plumes of smoke billowing out of the crash site.
