Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh are expected to see new state presidents soon, paving the way for the national president’s election by mid-April.
</excerpt>

New Delhi: One of the most anticipated announcements in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the schedule for the election of the party’s National President, expected to be revealed this month. The BJP is gearing up for significant leadership changes, with elections at both the state and national levels set to shape the party’s future direction.

Sources indicate that the election process may begin around the time of the Hindu New Year, with the entire process set to conclude by mid-April. The candidate for the position of president will also be announced soon. Additionally, the election of state presidents in several states is picking up momentum. The process is expected to be completed in more than half of the states after Holi. In key states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, discussions are already underway to build consensus on the selection of new state presidents. This phase of elections is crucial as it sets the stage for leadership changes and organizational strengthening within the BJP at both the national and state levels. Overall

The BJP’s decision on the new state president for Uttar Pradesh is expected to surprise many. After Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Delhi last week, where he met with several top party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it appears that a consensus has been reached on the new state president. This time, the party may choose a Brahmin leader rather than Bhupendra Chaudhary. Although there were discussions about selecting a Dalit leader due to the opposition’s focus on backward caste politics in the upcoming general elections, the BJP seems to be leaning towards an upper caste leader in Uttar Pradesh, considering the current political environment. Leaders such as Harish Dwivedi and MP Dinesh Sharma are among the names being considered.

Similarly, in Uttarakhand, the party is likely to pick a state president from the upper caste, with a strong possibility that the leader will be from the Garhwal division. Names like Vinod Chamoli, Aditya Kothari, and Brijbhushan Gairola are being discussed as potential replacements for the current state president, Ajay Bhatt.

In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is considering Narottam Mishra as a candidate for state president to replace BD Sharma. Given the current caste dynamics in the state, the party is likely to choose a Brahmin leader, making Mishra a strong contender for the role.

Once the state presidents are chosen in these three states, the election process will be nearly completed in more than half of the states. This will position the party to hold the national president’s election soon after Holi, as by that time, elections will have been completed in more than 20 states. According to the party’s constitution, the election of the national president can only take place after at least 18 states have held their elections, so the BJP will be ready to announce the national president’s election program later this month.

The party is expected to announce the candidate for the national president position by consensus. It is speculated that the name of the new national president will be revealed during the upcoming Navratri festival, which starts on March 30. The Hindu New Year will also begin around this time, and the national president’s election could be completed by mid-April. The new president could be announced at the BJP’s National Council meeting scheduled for April 18.

Several prominent leaders are in the race for the national president position, including Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, CR Patil, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, G Kishan Reddy, and B Srinivasan. Bhupendra Yadav is considered a potential candidate who could garner consensus between the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and Prime Minister Modi. His selection could also help balance caste equations in key states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

</excerpt>

Union Health Minister JP Nadda informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that a study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has definitively concluded that Covid-19 vaccinations do not increase the risk of unexplained sudden deaths among young adults in India. In fact, the study indicates that vaccination actually reduces the likelihood of such deaths.

The study aimed to address concerns over premature deaths among some young adults being linked to Covid vaccines. It was conducted by the ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology and focused on healthy individuals aged 18–45 with no known co-morbidities, who died suddenly from unexplained causes between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2023.

The research, carried out across 47 tertiary care hospitals in 19 states and Union Territories, included 729 sudden death cases and 2,916 controls. The findings showed that receiving at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, particularly two doses, significantly decreased the likelihood of unexplained sudden death.

The study also identified various factors that increased the risk of sudden death, such as a history of Covid-19 hospitalisation, a family history of sudden death, binge drinking within 48 hours of death, use of recreational drugs, and vigorous physical activity shortly before death.

Nadda clarified that the study found no connection between Covid-19 vaccination and unexplained sudden deaths among young adults. Instead, factors like past Covid-19 hospitalisations, family history, and certain lifestyle behaviors were found to elevate the risk of such deaths.

The Union Health Minister assured the public that a comprehensive adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) surveillance system is in place to monitor vaccine-related side effects. He emphasized that measures for timely medical intervention, such as mandatory observation of vaccine recipients for 30 minutes after vaccination and the availability of anaphylaxis kits, are being implemented.

To further raise awareness of AEFI, Nadda highlighted guidelines issued to states to improve reporting of vaccine-related adverse events and noted that information is being disseminated in multiple languages. The government is also using social media and collaborating with immunisation partners to spread awareness.

This study, Nadda concluded, offers critical clarity on the safety of Covid-19 vaccinations and counters the misconceptions associating them with unexplained sudden deaths.

</excerpt>

Union Health Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Speaking at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce and Bowling Competition at Thyagaraj Sports Complex on Wednesday, Nadda emphasized the need for systemic changes to ensure better medical care for individuals with IDD.

Training Healthcare Professionals for Specialized Care

Nadda highlighted the unique healthcare challenges faced by individuals with IDD, often leading to inadequate health outcomes. “People with IDD face difficulties in accessing appropriate healthcare and support. To address this, we need to upgrade the skills of healthcare professionals,” he said.

He stressed the importance of equipping medical professionals with training to address the specific needs of IDD individuals. “Healthcare providers must learn to recognize unique health concerns, communicate effectively using simplified language or assistive devices, and show empathy towards the special needs of IDD patients,” Nadda added.

The minister also acknowledged the significant role played by caregivers, families, and support organizations. “Their dedication drives change, and their partnership is essential in building a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable healthcare system,” he stated, while lauding the contributions of the Special Olympics and the Golisano Foundation.

Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce and Bowling Competition

The Thyagaraj Sports Complex became the stage for history as India hosted the inaugural Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce and Bowling Competition. The event celebrates the abilities and resilience of 81 athletes with IDD from 12 nations, running until November 22.

This marks a milestone in the Special Olympics movement, as Bowling makes its competitive debut in India. Athletes showcased their talents and inspired spectators with their determination and skill.

Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal, present at the event, expressed admiration for the participants. “Today, we celebrate the dedication and perseverance of these young athletes,” Jindal remarked, quoting Swami Vivekananda: “‘Believe in yourself, and the world will be at your feet.’ These remarkable individuals remind us that true strength lies in overcoming challenges with grace.”

The Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce and Bowling Competition has emerged as a symbol of empowerment and inclusion, celebrating the extraordinary potential of athletes with IDD.

Nadda urged people to support the movement by purchasing at least one Khadi product.

</excerpt>

Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of aligning with disintegrative forces and becoming a spokesperson for urban naxalism. Speaking at a BJP membership campaign program in Odisha’s Khordha district, Nadda also hailed the BJP as India’s only nationalist and democratic party.

Nadda Slams Congress for Alliance with National Conference in J&K

Nadda criticized the Congress for allying with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, a party that has voiced support for restoring Article 370. He accused the Congress of supporting those who seek to divide the nation.

“Congress has become the spokesperson of urban naxalism,” said Nadda. “Where is nationalism? They are allying with the party that talks about bringing back Article 370. But this is BJP, which since 1952 as Bharatiya Jana Sangha, opposed the idea of two constitutions in one country.”

Article 370 Abrogation: BJP’s Historic Achievement

Nadda highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Home Minister Amit Shah’s efforts. He emphasized that the move unified Jammu and Kashmir constitutionally with India.

“J-K became part of India constitutionally after this move,” said Nadda, adding that prominent figures like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had sacrificed their lives for this cause. He also pointed out that refugees from Pakistan living in Jammu and Kashmir had previously been denied the right to vote, a situation rectified after the abrogation.

Describing the BJP as India’s only national and democratic party, Nadda praised its membership drive and transparent internal processes, contrasting it with Congress, which he claimed has never prioritized such initiatives.

“BJP is the only party with a cadre base and maximum mass following,” said Nadda. “Have you ever seen such membership events of Congress? It tells volumes about the seriousness of the BJP’s membership and democratic structure.”

Nadda also took aim at the Congress for lacking a clear ideology, referencing Mahatma Gandhi’s suggestion to disband the party after India’s independence. He criticized the Congress for failing to evolve, while positioning the BJP as a party that stays true to its ideology.

“When I say it is an ideological party, I mean the BJP runs on principles. Mahatma Gandhi had said to disband Congress, but Nehru Ji didn’t agree,” Nadda stated.

BJP’s 2024 Membership Drive Launched by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi renewed his membership with the BJP on September 2, officially launching the party’s 2024 membership drive. Nadda concluded his remarks by highlighting the importance of the BJP’s continued growth and ideological consistency heading into the 2024 elections.

</excerpt>

Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Sunday criticised the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance for their stance on Article 370 and questioned whether they ‘Pakistan’s agents.’

Nadda’s remarks follow Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif’s statement that Pakistan and the NC-Congress alliance were on the same page on the restoration of Article 370.
Nadda also urged people to vote, saying that the assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir is crucial for the stability and strengthening of the region and the country.
At an event in Jammu, ahead of the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Nadda said, “In Kashmir’s first phase of voting, there was 60 per cent voter turnout… unlike earlier when polling was only 8 per cent and the army had to conduct it. Pakistan’s Defence Minister says Congress-NC’s stance aligns with theirs. Does that mean you’re Pakistan’s agent? This election is about Jammu and Kashmir’s stability and strengthening the country.”

Nadda further criticised the Congress-NC party, stating that while the BJP is talking about development, the NC-Congress is saying they’ll start negotiations with Pakistan.
“On one hand, we (BJP) are talking about development, while on the other hand, the NC-Congress is saying they’ll start negotiations with Pakistan… Today, no declared terrorist can survive on Jammu and Kashmir’s soil for more than a week. The moment they’re declared terrorists, they’re eliminated within a week,” he said.
He also said that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has surged ahead of Pakistan, and now India is no longer mentioned alongside Pakistan.

“When we talk about international politics and language, no one mentions India alongside Pakistan anymore. India is India, and Pakistan is left behind where it was earlier. Earlier, when Manmohan Singh used to travel to the US, he used to talk about terrorism and Pakistan. Today, when Modi ji travels to the US and other countries, he talks about trade, technical know-how, semiconductors and the space sector,” Nadda said.
Later, Nadda also held a roadshow in Jammu as the last two phases of voting in Assembly elections remain.

The first phase of voting was completed in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18 with a voter turnout of 61.13 per cent registered across 24 constituencies in seven districts, as per the Election Commission.

The second and third phases will be held on September 25 and October 5, respectively. Vote counting will be conducted on October 8 along with the counting of votes in Haryana.
Campaigning for BJP candidate Sham Lal Sharma in Jammu North, Nadda criticized the Congress, NC, and PDP, accusing them of widespread corruption and stalling progress in the region. “The Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi families have wreaked havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. They were responsible for corruption and the state’s deterioration,” he said.
Nadda also attacked these parties for pushing for the resumption of cross-LoC trade, claiming that this trade facilitated terrorism in the past. “They want to bring back the days of the 1990s when terror was rampant under the guise of trade,” Nadda added.
He emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir has seen a decline in terrorist activities. “The lifespan of a terrorist is just a few days under Modi’s government,” he remarked, underscoring the BJP’s commitment to peace, progress, and development in the Union Territory.

Nadda also highlighted the significant change in J&K since the abrogation of Article 370, celebrating the fact that Assembly elections are being held under the principle of “One Nation, One Constitution, One Prime Minister” for the first time.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda highlighted that under his leadership, Bihar is progressing on the development path.

Nadda stated, “To truly transform Bihar, it’s crucial to support the existing government. Under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance and the current administration’s efforts, Bihar is making significant strides in development.” He further noted, “Previously considered ‘bimaru rajya’ or backward states, Bihar, along with Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and others, are now evolving into developing regions under the leadership of PM Modi and the respective Chief Ministers.”

Earlier in the day, Nadda inaugurated the new eye care building at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science (IGIMS) hospital in Patna, alongside other medical facilities in Bihar. Reflecting on the event, he remarked, “In 2019, the last foundation stone I laid was for the ophthalmology department here, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar present. Now, as a minister again, my first inauguration is also at IGIMS.”

Nadda also highlighted the achievements of the Modi government in the health sector over the past decade, mentioning the expansion from 6 to 22 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) institutions. He expressed gratitude to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for facilitating the land for an AIIMS in Darbhanga.

Addressing the impact of the Ayushman Bharat health coverage scheme, Nadda pointed out that India now boasts the world’s largest health coverage program, supporting 55 crore individuals with up to 5 lakh rupees each. He concluded by emphasizing that India leads globally in universal health coverage.

Nadda’s visit was part of the BJP’s ongoing membership drive aimed at expanding the party’s base ahead of crucial upcoming elections.

After the visit, Nadda shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Gave a copy of membership renewal under ‘Bharatiya Janata Party – National Membership Campaign’ to senior leader and our ideal, respected Shri Lal Krishna Advani ji at his residence in New Delhi. Your unwavering dedication to the organization is admirable and always inspires us.”

Later in the day, Nadda is scheduled to visit senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi to renew his membership as part of the campaign.

The BJP launched its national membership drive on September 2, with a focus on attracting new members, particularly among women, youth, and in regions where the party has traditionally been weaker. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged party members to make special efforts to strengthen the BJP’s organizational reach.

As part of the drive, BJP National General Secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal renewed the membership of former Union Minister Vijay Kumar Malhotra at his residence on Thursday morning. Northwest Delhi MP Yogendra Chandolia was also present at the event. Malhotra expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to renew his association with the BJP.

According to Article 9 of the BJP’s constitution, party membership must be renewed every six years. The current drive, overseen by General Secretary Vinod Tawde, aims to add 10 crore members to the BJP. The membership campaign will run in two phases, from September 2-25 and October 1-15, with members able to sign up via missed calls, the NaMo app, QR codes, and traditional forms.

In Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak reported that over 27,000 individuals had signed up for BJP membership online, reflecting the party’s strong public support.

The BJP’s membership drive is seen as a strategic move to strengthen its grassroots presence ahead of the upcoming national and state elections.

</excerpt>

The National Medical Commission (NMC), acting on the directives of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, issued an advisory on August 13 mandating safe working environments in all medical colleges and institutions.

This directive follows the horrific rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, which sparked nationwide protests demanding improved safety for medical professionals.

The NMC notice highlighted the recent surge in violence against doctors in medical colleges. It directed institutions to establish comprehensive policies ensuring the safety of all staff, including faculty, students, and resident doctors, across the entire campus and hospital premises.

The guidelines emphasize the need for robust security measures in outpatient departments (OPDs), wards, casualty areas, hostels, open spaces, and residential quarters. Adequate lighting in corridors and campus areas is essential for safe movement, while CCTV surveillance should cover sensitive areas.

To bolster security, medical institutions must deploy sufficient male and female security personnel in OPDs, wards, casualty areas, labor rooms, hostels, residential quarters, and open spaces.

The NMC has mandated prompt investigations into any incidents of violence against medical professionals, with mandatory FIR filing and a detailed action report to be submitted within 48 hours.

</excerpt>

Union Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday dismissed Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge’s claims about the removal of the Preamble from NCERT textbooks, stating there is “no question” of altering the Preamble. Nadda emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to safeguarding the Constitution, despite not having personally reviewed the textbooks.

In the Rajya Sabha, Kharge accused the BJP government of removing the Preamble from NCERT textbooks. He stated, “It has been reported that the Preamble of the Constitution was removed from the NCERT books. The preamble has been removed from NCERT textbooks; it was printed in the books earlier. The Preamble is the soul and spirit of the Constitution.”

Referring to a speech from the Constituent Assembly on November 25, 1949, Kharge underscored the importance of social democracy, which he described as a way of life that recognizes liberty, equality, and fraternity as intertwined principles. He criticized the government for allegedly erasing statues of Dr. BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi and tampering with the Constitution. “BJP since its election removed statues of Mahatma Gandhi, and Dr BR Ambedkar and then is editing the Constitution. Warns that people will not accept it. The RSS and BJP are forcing their communal ways of thinking on the citizens of India. The step taken by the NCERT is not right,” he added.

Kharge’s accusations prompted loud protests from the Treasury benches, leading Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to intervene. Dhankhar instructed that “Nothing will go on record. The last four minutes will be deleted. Please, everyone, take your seats. The leader of the house will speak after that.”

Responding to Kharge, BJP’s leader of House JP Nadda said Kharge had raised the issue based on reports without verifying from the original source, which in this case is the textbook. “They should have credible sources and should not base their speeches on hearsay; newspaper clippings are not sources; sources are textbooks. I have not seen NCERT books or seen the changes, but with full responsibility, I want to say that the Modi government has full respect for the Constitution and there is no question of tinkering with the Preamble. I can give my guarantee that the government is committed to the Constitution and Preamble; we started celebrating Constitution Day,” Nadda said.

Nadda also referred to the imposition of an Emergency and the repeated dismissal of opposition state governments by the Congress, stating, “The worst day for the constitution was in fact June 25, 1975.” He defended the RSS, describing it as a patriotic organization connected to the grassroots. “You tried to prohibit RSS twice, but RSS came out even stronger, it is a nationalist organisation, that works to serve the country. Bharatiya Janata Party poori takat ke sath Maa Bharti ke seva mai Modi ji ke leadership mai lagi hai. The Preamble has been protected, will be protected,” Nadda said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan firmly refuted allegations that the Preamble of the Indian Constitution has been removed from NCERT textbooks. In a tweet, Pradhan stated that these claims have no basis and emphasized that, under the National Education Policy (NEP), the NCERT has given due importance to various aspects of the Indian Constitution, including the Preamble, Fundamental Duties, Fundamental Rights, and the National Anthem.

</excerpt>

The BJP President, JP Nadda, on Friday appointed State In-charge and Co-In-charge for various states across the country. The party has appointed General Secretary Vinod Tawde as in-charge of Bihar and MP Deepak Prakash as co-in-charge. Nitin Nabin has been appointed in charge of Chhattisgarh, Ashish Sood of Goa and Ajeet Gopchade of Manipur.
Interestingly, those appointed as in-charges for the Lok Sabha elections have also been made in-charges of the same states. Seven from UP are in Nadda’s team of in-charges.
Mahendra Singh and Shrikant’s stature increased

BJP has elevated former ministers Dr. Mahendra Singh and Shrikant Sharma. Dr. Mahendra Singh, who was the Jal Shakti Minister in the Yogi 1.0 government, was made the election in-charge of an important state like Madhya Pradesh, where he helped the party achieve good results. BJP achieved a clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh, winning all 29 seats.

Shrikant Sharma, who was the Energy Minister in the Yogi 1.0 government, has been given the responsibility of in-charge of Himachal Pradesh. Previously, he was made in-charge of Himachal, where BJP won all four seats. After being removed from the ministerial position in the previous government, he was not given any responsibility.

Dr. Mahendra has previously been in-charge of Assam and Tripura. In the last Rajasthan assembly elections, he was given the responsibility of 29 districts.

Additionally, Rajya Sabha MP and former national president of the Kisan Morcha, Vijaypal Singh Tomar has been made the in-charge of Odisha. He was also given the responsibility of election in-charge of Odisha during the Lok Sabha elections. In Odisha, BJP won 20 out of 21 seats. Tomar, a resident of Meerut, had been working in Odisha for quite some time. BJP also managed to form the state government in Odisha.

Radhamohan-Lakshmikant’s influence remains intact

Former state president of BJP and in-charge of Jharkhand, Dr. Lakshmikant Bajpai, was given the responsibility of election in-charge in Jharkhand itself. His stature remains intact. In 2014, Lakshmikant was the president of UP BJP when the party, along with allies, won 73 seats for the first time.

After being removed from the state president position, he lost the assembly election in 2017. Since then, this Brahmin leader was considered sidelined. However, before the 2022 assembly elections, on the initiative of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he was made the head of the joining committee for incoming leaders. After the elections, his stature was increased by sending him to the Rajya Sabha.

After being made the chief whip in the Rajya Sabha, he was given the responsibility of Jharkhand. Subsequently, he was made the election in-charge of Jharkhand itself, where BJP won 8 out of 14 seats. His position has been maintained.

Meanwhile, former MLA of Gorakhpur Sadar and now Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Radha Mohan Agarwal has been made in-charge of Karnataka. Previously, he was made co-in-charge of Kerala and then in-charge of Karnataka elections, where BJP won 17 out of 28 seats.

Additionally, former MP Rekha Verma, who lost the election from Dhaurahra, has been made co-in-charge of Uttarakhand, and Rajya Sabha MP Surendra Nagar has been made co-in-charge of Haryana.

</excerpt>

BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday accused the Congress party of working on the principle of divide and rule for the last 75 years to increase their ‘vote bank’.

Speaking to ANI, Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory claiming that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will cross the mark of 400 seats.

“People are going to bless PM Modi and NDA will cross the mark of 400 seats. The entire country is discussing ‘400 paar’ but the people who have done negative politics are saying that we want 400 seats to change the Constitution,” he said.

“The people who are talking about changing the Constitution are the ones who have done politics on negativism. These people always try to mislead and divide society. They have worked on the principle of divide and rule for the last 75 years. They do the politics in such a way that people remain divided and they can increase their vote bank. PM Modi has done the work of taking India towards Viksit Bharat with his positive politics,” the BJP leader added.

Nadda said that the country is running a strong government under the leadership of PM Modi.

“The only thing that people kept in their minds is that Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilment of the guarantee. The country is in strong hands, the country is running a strong government under the leadership of PM Modi and is making India self-reliant,” he said.

Coming down heavily on the Congress for creating confusion on some issues, Nadda said that the Congress wants to give special preference to minorities to divert the attention of the people from secularism.

“Congress tried to create confusion on some issues. In their manifesto, they said that they would give special preference to minorities, which means Muslims for them, it means appeasement, and it means to divert attention from secularism. PM Modi is a real secular person because he never said that the schemes and guarantees will be given to some particular caste or religion,” the BJP leader said.

The BJP President said that the BJP had put the nation first by revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and fulfilling the promise of constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“Ram Mandir is a matter of faith for us, Ram Mandir is not a matter of votes for us, it is not a matter of politics. Article 370 is a matter of the country and it is not from the point of view of votes. But the whole country has stood with us and everyone understood that BJP has also saved the pride of India by building the Ram Mandir and by removing Article 370, the country has become stronger,” Nadda said.
Earlier in the day, Nadda cast his vote at a polling booth in Bilaspur. His wife Mallika Nadda also accompanied him.

“I was the first voter here (in his booth). I appeal to all voters to vote in large numbers for a capable and self-reliant India. I urge voters to vote and contribute towards making India a capable, self-reliant and developed India…I consider this a festival of democracy,” the BJP President said after casting his vote.

The seventh phase marks a grand finish to the world’s largest polling marathon that began on the 19th of last month and has already covered six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats.

For the final 57 parliamentary seats spread over seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, voting got underway at seven in the morning.
Over 10.06 crore electors, comprising roughly 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female, and 3574 third gender electors, are anticipated to exercise their right to vote, according to the Election Commission of India.

As the Bharatiya Janata Party prepares to enter its third term of government, Prime Minister Modi has traveled the entire nation in support of his party’s candidacy.
Election day was April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25 for the first six phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Andhra Pradesh have also had assembly elections. Polls for Lok are being held concurrently in Odisha.

</excerpt>

Launching a blistering attack on the ruling TMC in WB after Calcutta’s judgment called for the cancellation of OBC certificates issued in the states after 2010, BJP President JP Nadda declared on Thursday that the court judgment exposes the unconstitutional appeasement perpetuated by the Mamta Banerjee government.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised this issue during the election campaign.

“Calcutta High Court has canceled the OBC reservation given to the Muslims under the OBC quota subcategory. The Calcutta High Court has also canceled OBC certificates issued in West Bengal to Muslims from 2010 to 2024…Both of these judgments show how Mamata Banerjee’s government was taking forward appeasement unconstitutionally, or it can be said that the Muslim agenda was being taken forward… PM Modi had raised this issue during the election campaigns—how Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi, and other leaders of the INDI alliance are shredding the constitution,” said JP Nadda.

Later, he also targeted WB CM’s remark, saying she doesn’t agree with Calcutta HC’s decision.

He further attacked Bannerjee with these remarks:

“It is written clearly in the Constitution that reservations will not be given based on religion. Mamata Banerjee said that she does not agree with the decision of the High Court. There is no one above the law. PM Modi quoted the constitution and said that the reservation is not given based on religion.”

Moreover, he also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his silence on the Calcutta HC’s judgment.

Retorting that Rahul Gandhi goes around with the constitution’s copy, but when it comes to the Calcutta High Court’s decision on such matters, he’s silent. They remain silent when Muslim appeasement is exposed.

In the end, he declared that people would teach them a lesson.

In addition, he also said that the people of West Bengal will teach a lesson to Mamata Banerjee.

What’s the matter all about?

Earlier on Wednesday, the Calcutta HC cancelled all OBC certificates that were issued in West Bengal after 2010.

It further directed the West Bengal Backward Classes Commission to prepare a new list of OBCs according to the 1993 Act.

However, the court has clarified that those included in the list before 2010 will remain, but after 2010, these OBC nominations are canceled.

Later, reacting to the judgment, Mamta Bannerjee declared that she wouldn’t accept the court’s judgment and that OBC’s reservation would continue.

“I heard a judge passing an order who has been very famous. The Prime Minister is saying that minorities will take away the Tapasheeli reservation. Can this ever happen? Minorities can never touch the Tapasheeli or tribal reservation, but these mischievous people (BJP) get their work done through agencies; they have gotten the order through someone, but I will not accept this opinion. Those who have given the order should keep it to themselves; we will not accept the opinion of the BJP, and the OBC reservation continues and will always continue” said Mamta Bannerjee said at a poll rally in Khardah, Dumdum Lok Sabha constituency.

</excerpt>

BJP national president JP Nadda sharply criticised the former Congress-led UPA administration on Tuesday, accusing it of feeding biryani to terrorists from across the border.

Nadda praised the government’s audacious move to repeal Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and praised the BJP-led NDA’s ten years in office under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “There used to be a government at the Centre that used to host terrorists at their offices and treat them to biryani,” Nadda said during a public meeting in Pitampura. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government has the guts and the political determination to deprive Jammu and Kashmir of its constitutionally granted special rights. Because of such momentous and historic ruling, Jammu & Kashmir is now an essential component of the nation.”

Nadda also praised the economic progress made under the BJP-led government, noting that while the US and China are experiencing economic downturns, India is viewed as a beacon of hope according to global estimates. He said, “We navigated several global challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine military conflict, among others. However, under the visionary leadership of Modi-ji, we managed to come out of these challenges unscathed and outpace the UK as the fifth-largest global economy.”

Highlighting India’s shift from aid recipient to aid provider, Nadda added, “Today, we are no longer a recipient but a giver. All sections of society, including the poor and marginalised, have been empowered by the schemes launched by Modi-ji.”

Nadda also led a roadshow in the Palam area to support BJP’s South Delhi candidate, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. Speaking to ANI during the event, Nadda criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of being allied with anti-national forces. He claimed, “The Aam Aadmi Party is in cahoots with anti-national forces. There are allegations that they received funds from terrorists and pro-Khalistani elements in the Punjab (assembly) elections. Arvind Kejriwal hasn’t responded to these allegations yet. They embody the habits of urban Naxals.”

Nadda further accused AAP of undermining national security, stating, “They want to inflict damage to the country and impede its progress on the path of development. They have always indulged anti-national forces. Is it not true that they had sought proof of the surgical strikes (post the Uri terror attack), shaking the morale of our armed forces?”

</excerpt>

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has expressed serious concern over the failure to remove an “objectionable post” by BJP Karnataka on a certain platform, despite a legally valid letter from the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, and an FIR filed in the matter. The ECI has directed the microblogging website to take down the post immediately. This decision came after BJP Karnataka did not remove the post as instructed.

The contentious post, uploaded on May 4 by the state BJP unit, featured an animated video targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the reservation issue. Despite a complaint filed by the Congress party to the Election Commission on May 5, alleging an intent to incite violence, BJP Karnataka did not comply with the Chief Electoral Officer’s order to remove the post.

Subsequently, the High Grounds police in Bengaluru filed a case against BJP national president JP Nadda, IT cell head Amit Malviya, and state president BY Vijayendra under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Karnataka is conducting Lok Sabha elections for 28 seats in two phases, with the voting for the remaining 14 seats underway today. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4. In the 2019 elections, BJP secured a significant victory in the state, winning 25 out of 28 seats, while Congress and JD-S, in coalition, managed to secure only one seat each.

He questioned the electorate whether they should support such individuals. Gujarat, known as a stronghold of the BJP and the home state of Modi and Amit Shah, is set to vote for 25 out of its 26 parliamentary seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on May 7.

Nadda stated, “Our manifesto reflects what the founding fathers of the BJP had envisioned for the country.” He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s articulation of this vision as “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” which he described as a simplification for the common man to understand.

Nadda criticized the Congress party for what he called “politics for vote bank,” accusing Congress lawyers of obstructing the judicial process for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He stated, “They did vote bank politics and kept creating obstacles but under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a grand Ram temple was built.”

Regarding the achievements of the ruling government, Nadda mentioned the construction of four crore houses under the PM Awas Yojana, with 55.5% of Jan Dhan accounts opened in the name of women. He also noted the distribution of over 10 crore gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme and the construction of more than 11 crore Izzat Ghars across the country. Additionally, he highlighted infrastructure development, stating that “60,000 new villages have been connected with pucca roads.”

Nadda praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating that “25 crore people in India have risen above the poverty line” under his governance. He also mentioned the connectivity of “1.2 lakh panchayats with optical fibre,” providing internet facilities to rural areas, and cited the International Monetary Fund’s acknowledgment that “extreme poverty in India has reduced to less than 1%.”

He paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, noting his fight for social justice and affirming the BJP’s commitment to the same cause.

The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, across seven phases, with 970 million individuals eligible to vote. This gesture is a response to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s comments regarding PM Modi’s religious identity.

A day after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Yadav launched a personal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several prominent BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda, incorporated “Modi ka parivar” (Modi’s family) into their social media profiles.

Responding to the Prime Minister’s accusation of dynasty politics within Opposition parties, including RJD, Lalu Yadav, during a rally of the INDIA Opposition bloc in Patna, remarked, “What can we do if Narendra Modi does not have a family of his own?” He also criticized Modi’s mention of the Ram temple and raised questions about his adherence to Hindu traditions.

As a display of unity, key BJP figures like Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Anurag Thakur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan added “Modi ka parivar” to their social media handles. This initiative is reminiscent of the “Main bhi chowkidar” campaign before the 2019 general election, where BJP leaders appended “Main bhi chowkidar (I am a watchman too)” to their profiles in response to Rahul Gandhi’s “Chowkidaar chor hai” remark.

Lalu Yadav’s remarks elicited a strong reaction from BJP leaders in Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha criticized the comments as offensive and disrespectful, highlighting that such language reflects a mindset against Sanatan Dharma (eternal religion) and seeks to undermine longstanding traditions. Sinha labeled the RJD as political jesters and stressed the importance of countering such forces.
