Sophie Turner On Divorce, New Love: “We Had A Beautiful Relationship”

October 31, 2024, 1:23 pm

In a recent interview with ‘Harper’s Bazaar UK’, Game of Thrones actor Sophie Turner opened up about her emotional journey following her split from Joe Jonas. The couple, who married in May 2019, ended their four-year relationship this September when Turner filed for divorce. Reflecting on the breakup, Turner shared, “I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad. We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard.”

The pair held two wedding ceremonies, a private Las Vegas chapel celebration attended by close family members, including Jonas’ brothers and their spouses, and a more elaborate wedding in France in June 2019. Together, they welcomed two children. After the split, a custody dispute arose, but both parties eventually settled on a shared custody arrangement finalized last month.

Turner described her relocation to the US during the marriage, but she has since returned to London, where she feels a stronger sense of self and connection. “It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family. I was away for so long – six years – and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant,” she reflected on her time away from her roots.

Since her return, Turner has started dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, the son of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray. Pearson, a London-based property developer, and Turner recently made their relationship public with a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating his 30th birthday on October 27.

Sophie Tuner And Joe Jonas’s Second Daughter’s Name Revealed

September 27, 2023, 5:36 pm

American singer-songwriter and actor Joe Jonas and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner’s second daughter’s name has been revealed. According to custody filings obtained by Page Six, they named their 1-year-old daughter, ‘Delphine.’

The pair have disclosed few details about the child since her birth in July 2022.

Turner used the name in recent court documents in which she asked a judge to postpone her divorce from Jonas until they figured out custody of their children.

Last Monday, Sophie sued her estranged husband for the repatriation of their two girls to England. She alleged that Joe refused to hand up their passports.

Turner has asked the judge to put the divorce on hold because her children are the focus of an “international child abduction” prosecution.

On September 5, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, alleging their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

The two issued a joint statement the next day, calling their breakup “a united decision.”

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” both shared on Instagram.

Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas Agree To Temporarily Keep Kids In NYC

September 26, 2023, 10:57 am

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are in the midst of a divorce after four years of marriage. Last week, the ‘Games of Thrones’ actress sued the singer, seeking the return of their daughters to London. But an interim consent order obtained by CNN and filed in New York shows that Sophie and Jonas have reached a temporarily agreement to keep their daughters in the states.

The document states, “The parties have agreed to the entry of the attached proposed Interim Consent Order, without prejudice to either party’s claims and defenses, prohibiting the removal of the parties’ children from the jurisdictions of the United States District Courts for the Southern & Eastern Districts of New York pending further order of this Court.”

For the unversed, the two wed in 2019. The singer filed for divorce in Florida earlier this month. They wrote in a joint statement to announce their plans to part ways, “After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.” “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

However, the situation took a legal turn when the Games Of Thrones star filed a lawsuit against the singer, demanding the return of their children. Sophie alleged that Joe Jonas was wrongfully detaining the children in New York City.

Further, she alleged that the singer currently holds their children’s passports and refuses to return them. In response, Joe Jonas’s representative issued a statement to US Weekly, calling the situation an unfortunate legal dispute.

Sophie Turner And Joe Jonas Grab Lunch With Daughters

September 23, 2023, 10:39 am

American singer-songwriter and actor Joe Jonas and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner went out for lunch with their daughters just days before she sued him, TMZ reported.

Check out the viral pictures below

In photographs acquired by TMZ, the estranged couple was seen out to lunch with their two kids, D., 14 months, and Willa, three.

According to the outlet, the four sat together and ate dinner at Momofuku Noodle Bar Uptown in New York City.

According to TMZ, Sophie sued Joe in federal court on Thursday, saying he was refusing to allow her to take their girls to live in Europe, a plan she claims had been in place for a long time.

Furthermore, Sophie said Joe had hidden the children’s passports, making the situation much more difficult.

According to sources close to Joe, Sophie’s filing completely caught him off guard.

According to a statement from Joe’s team, he was only obeying the orders of a Florida judge, the children cannot be relocated during the divorce procedures. Joe believed that if things calmed down and a plan was in place, he’d do whatever it took to figure out a custody arrangement, even if the children lived in another country.

Sophie has been out on the town with her newfound bestie, Taylor Swift, since lunch with Joe, spending Tuesday and Thursday nights in New York.

Day after, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actor also went out with her children in Manhattan on Friday, pushing 3-year-old Willa and her 1-year-old younger sister in a pram.

Joe Jonas Responds To Sophie Turner’s Lawsuit

September 22, 2023, 4:48 pm

American singer-songwriter and actor Joe Jonas has filed a response to Sophie Turner’s lawsuit alleging wrongful retention of the couple’s two children.

A spokesman for the musician, 34, in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on Thursday responded to his estranged wife’s lawsuit which alleged that Jonas was refusing to let the couple’s two children, Willa, 3, and 14-month-old daughter return to England.

“After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce. The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago,” the statement obtained by PEOPLE read.

“Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup,” it read.

The statement asserted that the musician is “seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father and is, of course, also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK,” but also alleges that the children “have spent the vast majority of their lives in the U.S.”

“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted,” the statement said.

“After being in Joe’s care for the past three months at the agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother,” it said.

“Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the U.S. permanently.”

“Joe has already disavowed any and all statements purportedly made on his behalf that were disparaging of Sophie. They were made without his approval and are not consistent with his views. His wish is that Sophie reconsider her harsh legal position and move forward in a more constructive and private manner. His only concern is the well-being of his children,” the statement concluded.

The lawsuit against Jonas sought “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained,” with Turner’s legal team claiming the “wrongful retention” began on September 20.

Turner claims she and the musician agreed to name England their “forever home” after chats during Christmas 2022 as they prepared for the coming year.

After nearly three years of dating, the singer and the former Game of Thrones star married in 2019.

After four years of marriage, Jonas filed for divorce from the actress in September, according to records obtained by PEOPLE. According to the filing, “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”

The records said that the children had recently moved home with their father.

“A parenting plan should be established, which addressed all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties,” the filing continued.

“The children have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States.”

A source told People shortly after Jonas filed for divorce that the former couple’s children had more support living with the singer during their divorce. “She has been shooting which is why the kids have been with Joe. It’s just been easier because she’s been working for the kids to be with him because there’s some more support at home and on the road with his family. It’s something they both agreed was best.”
