60 Minutes, 20 Drones: How Israeli Forces Take Down Iranian UAVs in Rapid Response | Watch

June 16, 2025, 1:30 pm

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that the Israeli Air Force and Navy intercepted more than 20 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran within a single hour on Sunday, intensifying the already volatile conflict. The IDF also released video footage on its official X account showing multiple drones being shot down.

“In the past hour alone, the Air Force intercepted approximately 20 UAVs launched toward Israeli territory,” read the IDF’s statement. The footage showed precise air defense operations as Israeli forces took down Iranian drones mid-air.

Earlier in the day, Israeli forces intercepted at least seven more drones over the Mediterranean Sea and the Negev region, according to official reports.

This escalation followed a strong warning from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who stated that Iran would pay a “very heavy price” for the deaths of Israeli civilians, including women and children.

Trade Fears Loom as Conflict Reaches Day 3

The conflict, now in its third day, is creating global concerns over potential disruptions to energy trade. Analysts warn that key maritime chokepoints like Kharg Island—Iran’s main oil export terminal—and the Strait of Hormuz are vulnerable to attacks. The Strait handles 21% of the world’s LNG and sees the daily passage of around 14 million barrels of crude oil.

The situation worsened after Israel reportedly struck Iran’s South Pars gas field—the largest in the world—reducing Iran’s daily gas output by 12 million cubic meters. The attack adds pressure on Iran, which is already grappling with one of its worst energy crises in decades.

Iran’s Energy Sector Under Threat

Iran’s economy is losing an estimated $250 million daily due to gas shortages and frequent blackouts, according to the Iran Chamber of Commerce. The government has responded with austerity measures, cutting power to homes and industrial zones.

“Attacking Iran’s energy infrastructure will be a disaster because repairing it will be costly and take time,” said Abdollah Babakhani, an Iranian energy expert based in Germany.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Slams UN’s “Shameful” Decision To Blacklist Israel Defence Forces

June 9, 2024, 7:04 pm

Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, has vehemently criticized the UN Secretary-General’s decision to include the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) in a blacklist of entities accused of harming children during conflict. Katz labeled the move as “shameful” and expressed Israel’s outright rejection of it, denouncing the decision with “disgust.”

In a scathing statement, Katz accused the Secretary-General of displaying hostility towards Israel and intentionally overlooking Hamas attacks while undermining Israel’s right to self-defence. Katz highlighted the Secretary-General’s reliance on what he termed “unverified and distorted data,” including reports from organizations like the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). He alleged that these reports had inaccurately reduced casualty figures without justification and relied on data sources controlled by Hamas.

“The IDF (Israel Defence Forces) is the most moral army in the world,” Katz declared, dismissing the notion that any report could tarnish its reputation. He warned that the UN’s decision would have repercussions for Israel’s relations with the international body.

The move comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and the UN over perceived bias in reports regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel has consistently criticized what it sees as a pattern of unfair treatment by the UN.

This latest development is likely to further strain relations between Israel and the UN, raising concerns about the effectiveness of international efforts to address the conflict in the region.

The IDF carried out a raid on Hamas’ General Security Headquarters, which is located within the UN-administered refugee camp, on Tuesday morning. Soldiers, in tandem with the Air Force, fiercely engaged terror cells operating in buildings, facing mortar assaults and retaliatory gunfire. Further discoveries of weapons and rocket launchers hidden within civilian structures were reported by IDF officials.

“The Shaldag SF unit, the 7th Brigade, and additional SF units exposed Hamas’s tunneling infrastructure inside the Shifa Hospital. They also discovered a booby-trapped vehicle that was prepared for the October 7th massacre, containing a large amount of weapons and ammunition,” Israeli Air Force posted on X.

All of this was discovered in the last day or so, IDF wrote on X. Israel and Hamas Seek Resolution for Civilian Hostages in Gaza

November 11, 2023, 11:15 am

Israel-Hamas War: In a significant development, Israel and Hamas are engaged in negotiations over two separate proposals for the release of hostages, as reported by The New York Times. According to officials, one proposal involves a small number of people, while the other contemplates the release of over 100 civilians currently held in Gaza.

Israeli authorities claim that Hamas, the terror group, has more than 240 hostages in Gaza, with just under half of them being civilians. The larger deal being discussed would include the release of all these civilians. The first proposal suggests Hamas releasing 10 to 20 civilian hostages, including Israeli women, children, and foreigners, in exchange for a temporary cessation of hostilities by Israel. A subsequent release of approximately 100 civilians could follow if both parties agree.

However, Hamas has refused to release military-age Israeli men held in Gaza. In a separate demand, Hamas seeks a brief pause, increased humanitarian aid, fuel for hospitals, and the release of women and children in Israeli prisons in exchange for releasing all civilians.

While the United States supports Israel pausing attacks for a hostage release, the Israeli government remains uncertain about releasing its prisoners. Qatar, hosting Hamas’s political offices, serves as the main mediator, alongside senior U.S. officials.

Complicating matters, Hamas claims it holds only 20 or fewer civilians, asserting that other groups in Gaza, not under Hamas’s command, are responsible for the rest. The governments involved in the talks have not independently verified this claim.

Recent weeks have seen conflicting narratives, with Hamas officials stating they targeted only military outposts, while evidence suggests attacks on civilians. Despite claiming to have captured 130 to 140 Israeli military personnel, Hamas shows no intention of releasing them soon. Israeli and U.S. officials express skepticism about the accuracy of Hamas’s claims regarding civilian hostages.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office declined to comment on the ongoing negotiations at this time.

IDF kills multiple terrorists and thwarts Hamas’ attempt to infiltrate by sea

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) did not disclose the precise number of Hamas divers involved in the infiltration; however, reports from Hebrew-language media place the figure between five and eight. Alarms were raised by the infiltration attempt in the border communities of Zikim and Karmia, which were mostly evacuated after southern Israel was attacked by Hamas on October 7. The Times of Israel reported that the area has been declared a closed military zone, with the exception of essential personnel and local security teams.

The IDF responded to the situation by deploying a fighter jet, which carried out an airstrike on a compound believed to be the launching point for the terrorists.
IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that Navy forces, including naval commandos, were actively searching for any additional members of the terrorist cell in the sea. They had identified the Hamas cell entering the sea from a tunnel originating from Gaza City’s coast. Navy forces engaged the divers, resulting in their elimination.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the sea-borne attack attempt and stated that its members had clashed with Israeli forces after allegedly managing to infiltrate into Israel.

No one can deny that Hamas is more dangerous than ISIS.
