</excerpt>

The swift and decisive action of security forces averted what could have been a devastating incident in the Balsoo area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning. An improvised explosive device (IED) was uncovered during routine patrols, highlighting the ongoing threats in the region and the critical role that security forces play in maintaining safety and order.

The IED, which was expertly concealed inside a pressure cooker, was found along the Balsoo-Parigam road. This discovery underscores the vigilance and thoroughness of the security personnel, who routinely conduct patrols to ensure the safety of the local population. Their attentiveness not only prevented a potential loss of life but also demonstrated their commitment to protecting the community from the persistent threats posed by terrorists in the region.

Upon discovering the device, the security forces acted with commendable efficiency. The area was immediately secured, and traffic on the Balsoo-Parigam road was suspended to prevent any civilian casualties. The quick coordination with a specialized bomb disposal squad, which was promptly dispatched to the site, further exemplifies the high level of preparedness and professionalism of the security forces operating in Kashmir.

The bomb disposal unit, trained to handle such dangerous situations, successfully defused the IED, ensuring that no harm came to the surrounding area. Their expertise and calm under pressure prevented what could have been a catastrophic event, demonstrating the importance of their role in countering the ongoing militant threats in the region.

This incident is a stark reminder of the challenges faced by security forces in Kashmir, where the threat of IEDs and other forms of terrorist attacks remains ever-present. Despite these dangers, the forces remain resolute, conducting their duties with a level of courage and dedication that is crucial to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The successful defusal of the IED in Balsoo not only thwarted a potential attack but also sent a strong message to those who seek to disrupt the peace: the security forces are vigilant, prepared, and unwavering in their mission to protect the people of Kashmir. Their actions on this day are a testament to their enduring commitment to safeguarding the region against all forms of violence and terror.

In the aftermath of the incident, normalcy was quickly restored, with the road reopened to traffic and the local community reassured of their safety. The swift resolution of this threat is a clear indication of the effectiveness of the security apparatus in place, and it highlights the ongoing need for vigilance in the face of persistent threats.

As the investigation into the incident continues, the local population can take comfort in knowing that their security forces are not only capable but are also constantly on alert, ready to respond to any threat with the necessary force and expertise. The people of Kashmir owe much to the bravery and dedication of these men and women, who put their lives on the line daily to ensure the safety and security of the region.

</excerpt>

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended the main perpetrator involved in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram cafe bombing case following widespread raids across three states. The explosion on March 1 resulted in numerous injuries to both patrons and employees of the cafe, causing extensive damage to the popular cafe.

Muzammil Shareef, who provided logistical assistance to the two other identified suspects in the case, was apprehended by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) following extensive operations across 18 locations. These locations included 12 in Karnataka, 5 in Tamil Nadu, and one in Uttar Pradesh.

NIA, which assumed control of the case on March 3, had previously identified the primary suspect, Mussavir Shazeeb Hussain, responsible for executing the blast. Additionally, it identified another collaborator, Abdul Matheen Taha, who is wanted by the agency in connection with other cases. Both individuals remain fugitives.

Abdul Matheen Taha has been missing since 2020.

Mussavir Shazeeb Hussain purportedly abandoned a bag containing an improvised explosive device (IED).

Previously, the NIA had appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect. Additionally, the Central Crime Branch of the Bengaluru police is collaborating with the anti-terror agency in the investigation. Furthermore, they shared numerous videos and images of the primary suspect to aid in his identification.

Today, raids were carried out at the residences of all three accused individuals, as well as the homes and businesses of other suspects. These operations resulted in the confiscation of various digital devices and a sum of cash.

On March 13, the NIA detained an individual suspected to be an accomplice of the main suspect.

</excerpt>

Naxals launched the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week, causing bus services on the Narayanpur-Orchha route to be suspended and injuring two CRPF soldiers in an IED blast.

During the first day of the PLGA week, an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion injured CRPF soldiers in the Barsur police station area, Dantewada Police confirmed. The incident occurred while personnel from the 195th Battalion were attempting to defuse a concealed IED in a Maoist banner near the Saatdhaar bridge on the Barsur Palli route.

Although the injured soldiers are out of danger and currently receiving treatment, bus services on the Narayanpur-Orchha route have been temporarily halted as a preventive measure due to the ongoing PLGA week.

This recent disruption follows an earlier incident on November 27, where suspected Naxals set fire to nearly 14 vehicles and machinery engaged in construction work in Dantewada district. The attack, orchestrated around 1:30 am at Bangali camp under Bhansi police station limits, involved a group of approximately 25–30 individuals, most of whom were disguised as villagers. The swift response from the police helped contain the fire after the assailants fled the scene.

The PLGA week, which runs from December 2 to 8, commemorates the Naxal organization’s founding day and has historically resulted in increased activity and disruptions by the rebel groups, raising security concerns in affected areas.
