The group was on a mission to deliver essential supplies to civilians in Gaza.

According to videos shared by FFC, drones dropped an unidentified white chemical on the boat before Israeli forces reportedly rammed and boarded the vessel. “Moments ago, drones dropped unidentified chemicals on the Madleen… we lost all contact with them seconds later,” the group wrote on Instagram.

Footage Reveals Volunteers in Distress

CCTV footage shows volunteers seated inside the boat with life jackets on and their hands in the air. While no IDF soldiers are visible, a voice is heard instructing the passengers to throw their phones into the sea. The time stamp shows the incident occurred around 2 am local time.

Greta Thunberg Appeals for Release

In a final video before losing communication, Greta Thunberg appealed to the Swedish government, stating, “We have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces… I urge all my friends, family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.”

FFC maintained that Thunberg and the others were unarmed civilians carrying humanitarian supplies, including baby formula and medical aid, and were acting within the bounds of international law.

Israel Responds: ‘Media Provocation’

The Israeli Foreign Ministry downplayed the incident, labeling the Madleen as a “selfie yacht” and accusing the volunteers of staging a publicity stunt. “There are ways to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip – they do not involve Instagram selfies,” it said, asserting the yacht carried “less than a single truckload of aid.”

In contrast, it highlighted that over 1,200 aid trucks had entered Gaza in the last two weeks and claimed 11 million meals had been distributed through official channels.

Defence Minister’s Statement Sparks Controversy

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed he had ordered the interception. Addressing Greta Thunberg directly, he remarked, “To the antisemitic Greta and her Hamas-propaganda-spouting friends, I say clearly: You’d better turn back, because you will not reach Gaza.”

Based on a drone video uploaded on IDF’s official X handle, the tunnel supposedly has rooms for intelligence work and weapon storage. A long underground passage with several rooms packed with things such as firearms, a computer, and ventilation units is depicted in the video.

Supporting the assertion, the post continued: “Hamas continues to use hospitals in Gaza for terrorist intentions, cynically taking advantage of and putting civilians at risk.”

Thai Hostage’s Body Recovered in Gaza

Only hours after the tunnel video was released, Israel announced the recovery of the body of a Thai citizen who was taken captive during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023. The individual, whose name has been given as Nattapong Pinta, traveled to Israel to work in agriculture and was said to have been kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz. Israeli officials verified that he was murdered at the onset of the conflict.

Thailand’s foreign ministry stated that attempts are still being made to recover the bodies of two other Thai nationals who are thought to be in custody or murdered in Gaza. The Associated Press wrote that Thai citizens comprise the largest number of foreign hostages taken by Hamas in the conflict.

Terror Activities from Gaza Hospitals

In another incident, the IDF claimed killing two suspected militants who had been using their cover as journalists and working from within the compound of the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza. The suspects were said to have used the hospital courtyard area as a staging point for planning attacks on Israeli targets.

Quoting the IDF’s X post, ‘The terrorists manipulated the hospital to plot and conduct terror activities against Israeli citizens and IDF troops. Terrorists in Gaza still employ hospitals for terrorist operations while cynically manipulating the population and putting civilians’ lives at risk.

The two men, As’ad Abu Sharaiya and Mahmoud Muhammad Hamid Kuhail, were said to be associated with the Mujahideen terrorist organization. The IDF, jointly with the ISA (Israeli Security Agency), confirmed that the men were killed in a combined operation.

IDF Links Abu Sharaiya to October 7 Attack

In a statement, the IDF reported that As’ad Abu Sharaiya was one of the top perpetrators in the October 7 Kibbutz Nir Oz massacre, where both Israeli and foreign nationals were abducted and murdered.

The post said, “Terrorists penetrated Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7, 2023. Abu Sharaiya was among the chief planners of the massacre and directly participated in the kidnapping & murder of Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, Nattapong Pinta and a second foreign national still being held by the terror group and in the kidnapping of the couple Gad and Judi Haggai.”

The IDF’s operation, aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure, also resulted in the seizure of weapons and military equipment from the hospital, which is believed to have been used as a Hamas command centre.

The IDF’s international spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, confirmed the development in a response to a user on social media platform X. He stated, “At this time, we can confirm that the director of the hospital is a suspect and is currently being questioned regarding his potential involvement in terrorist activity.”

This announcement follows reports by Al Jazeera, which cited the Gaza Health Ministry, stating that detainees from the IDF’s raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital had been released, but the whereabouts of the hospital’s director, Hussam Abu Safia, remained unknown.

In a previous post, Lt. Col Shoshani shared the details on X of what happened before and during IDF’s operation in the “Hamas command center embedded in the Kamal Adwan Hospital”.

Before the operation began, the IDF evacuated 350 patients, medical staff, and caregivers from the hospital to other facilities in coordination with COGAT, Israel’s Unit for the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories. The IDF also provided humanitarian assistance, including fuel, food, and medical supplies.

COGAT is responsible for coordination and liaison with the Palestinian Authority and serves as a major source of information for the Palestinian sector as per the official website of the Government of Israel.

Lt Col Shoshani also mentioned that fuel, food and medical supplies were delivered to the hospital.

The Israel Defense Forces said on Tuesday that Israeli fighter jets targeted Hamas’ infrastructure in northern and central Gaza. This included underground tunnels and a site where Hamas militants launched an anti-tank missile toward Sderot on Monday. Thankfully, the missile was intercepted by aerial defenses. Shortly after detecting the missile launch, fighter jets attacked these targets in northern Gaza.

The IDF’s actions were a response to the ongoing threat posed by Hamas’ military infrastructure. They targeted specific locations where Hamas operates, including underground tunnels used for movement and storing weapons, as well as a site used for launching anti-tank missiles. This demonstrates Israel’s commitment to defending its territory and citizens from attacks by militant groups like Hamas.

Fighter jets have also attacked many Hamas targets in central Gaza over the course of the last day, including a terrorist squad and a weapons storage site, in the vicinity of where Israeli ground forces are stationed.
On Monday, Israeli soldiers in the center of Gaza were again targeted by rocket fire. There were no reported injuries. At the site of the launchpad, troops discovered a large number of terrorists. Fighter jets then attacked and killed the terrorists.

Two terrorists were seen moving toward the nearby forces during operations activities in central Gaza. After an Israeli plane attacked, the terrorists were destroyed. Hamas financier Nasser Yakob Jabber Nasser died in an Israeli airstrike, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on Thursday.

A large portion of Hamas’ military operations in Rafah were financed by Nasser. The IDF said that Nasser gave Hamas hundreds of thousands of dollars just in December.

Furthermore, Israeli soldiers have been conducting targeted operations in the northern Gaza town of Shejaya for the past few days. In addition to the destruction of a Hamas training facility, several terrorists were killed.

Israel: Authorities arrest six people suspected of terrorism

Israel Defense Forces (IDF), along with the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Services) and Border Police, apprehended six individuals suspected of terrorism across Judea and Samaria.

In al-Eizariya near Jerusalem, security forces detained two individuals who were wanted and seized a cache of weapons, including an M-16 rifle, a handgun, and various other arms.

Another individual wanted by authorities was apprehended in Qabalan near Nablus, while security forces confiscated numerous weapons and incendiary materials in Orif.

The IDF reported the arrest of a wanted individual in Kalandia, Benjamin, and confiscated weapons and military gear.

In Tulkarm and Bir al Basha near Jenin, security forces apprehended a wanted individual, while another wanted individual was arrested in Hebron.

IDF tragets Hezbollah terrorist military infrastructure

IDF Continues Offensive Against Hamas in Khan Yunis

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Thursday morning that they maintained their offensive against Hamas in Khan Yunis. They targeted terror infrastructure in the Al Amal and ‘Abasan al Jadida neighborhoods of the city, using tank fire to eliminate Hamas militants and seize weapons. Khan Yunis, Gaza’s second-largest city, is known as a significant stronghold of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

In central Gaza, ground forces detected an armed Hamas squad and trailed them, observing additional terrorists exiting a building and maneuvering in the vicinity. The terrorists were neutralized in an aerial attack, while a fighter jet demolished the building. Following the detection of multiple rocket launches from Gaza into Israel on Wednesday, the IDF targeted the origins of the attacks, along with additional launchers and terror infrastructure.

Rashid al-Zaro Held for Backing Hamas Terrorism

Israeli security forces apprehended Dr. Rashid al-Zaro, a senior surgeon at the Hebron hospital, on suspicion of inciting terrorism and advocating for the destruction of Israel.

The arrest took place in an operation conducted by police special forces, coordinated by the intelligence unit of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Central Command, in the city of Hebron.

Al-Zaro, employed as a senior surgeon at a hospital in Hebron, previously held a work permit in Israel, which has since been rescinded. Additionally, he has previously been involved in medical procedures at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Al-Zaro expressed support for the Hamas massacre that occurred on Oct 7, 2023, and engaged in incitement against the State of Israel on social media platforms. Furthermore, he displayed a sign stating “Doctor on duty in Ichilov” on his vehicle and misused his work permit to unlawfully enter Israeli territories.

Gaza: Israeli military increases pressure on Hamas

As forces from its 98th Paratrooper Division increase the pressure on the terrorist organization Hamas in the area of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza and eliminate numerous terrorist squads through sniper fire, tank, and airstrikes, the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) has reported on how it continues to operate in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces find weapons and inciting games for children

Israeli forces reported the discovery of weapons and games intended to incite violence in the home of a Hamas commander on the outskirts of Khan Yunis. The IDF stated that during clashes with a Hamas terror squad in a nearby school, three Hamas operatives were killed, armed with RPGs and carrying intelligence information about Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade.

Inside the commander’s home, a significant weapons cache, including grenades, magazines, and combat vests, was found. Some of these weapons were discovered in a child’s bedroom alongside various toys and games, with the IDF asserting that some of the games were inciting violence. One photo released by the IDF depicted a puzzle featuring armed Arab children attacking Israel.

In addition to this discovery, the IDF released a video showing senior officers conducting a general assessment within Khan Yunis on Friday. The IDF stated that at least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. As of now, it is believed that 129 individuals, including men, women, children, soldiers, and foreigners, are held captive in Gaza by Hamas, with others still unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.

Israeli forces discover tunnel shaft in Gaza school with photos of weapons for children

The Israel Defense Forces announced on Wednesday that Israeli soldiers in Gaza had found a tunnel shaft inside a school. The combat team of 5th Brigade found the tunnel in the Khirbet Ahza neighborhood of southern Gaza. Photos of kid-friendly weapons were also discovered by the authorities. The IDF released a picture inside the school that showed different types of mortars, grenades, and bullets. In addition, forces raided Hamas observation posts and terror squad firing positions during the military operation in Khirbet Ahza.

Meanwhile, in Khan Yunis, ground forces directed an airstrike on a terror squad that was trying to attach a bomb to a tank. Soldiers also seized weapons and a safe containing hundreds of thousands of shekels inside the home of a member of Hamas’s Nukhba unit.
Also in Khan Yunis, an Israeli fighter jet struck a munitions production complex belonging to Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
In the northern Gaza area of Tupah, soldiers eliminated a terror squad operating aerial drones to observe the Israeli forces.

The Times of Israel reported that former Hamas operatives confirmed that Hamas was using civilians as human shields and in various other ways as cover for their operations in a video that was made public by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). A video showcasing the latest interrogation of Palestinian terror suspects apprehended by the Israeli Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip was made public on Monday. Israel has maintained without fail that the terrorist organization Hamas was using civilians as human shields by, among other things, establishing bases of operations beneath hospitals, firing rockets from shelters and schools, digging tunnel shafts beneath children’s bedrooms, stockpiling weapons in and around mosques and schools, and integrating itself among civilians during the ongoing conflict.

Recently, these captured Hamas terrorists have confirmed some of the human shield claims, explaining, for example, that Hamas knows Israel will not target hospitals, medical centres and facilities.
One of the videos was of Zahdy Ali Zahdy Shahin, identified by the military as a former Hamas operative, who told interrogators of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 that he felt “we were being used as human shields.”
Shahin further described an incident, stating that he was heading from northern Gaza to the Strip’s south in the humanitarian corridor set up by Israel when apparent Hamas gunmen pulled him and other civilians aside and brought them to al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, The Times of Israel reported.
He further explained that he and other civilians were on the ground floor of the hospital, and once IDF forces reached the medical centre, Hamas operatives came out from tunnels and hid among the sheltering civilians.

IDF uncovers Hamas’ tunnels inside, around several hospitals within Gaza

Israel Defense Forces continued their campaign against Hamas on Wednesday when they discovered and demolished three of the terrorist group’s underground shafts, which were located close to the Rantisi Hospital and in the adjacent High School.
The tunnel shafts utilized by the Hamas combatants are connected by an underground network that passes beneath the hospital and into Gaza City. The tunnel shafts are several dozen meters deep.

“IDF troops are uncovering Hamas’ tunnels inside and around multiple hospitals within Gaza. The Rantisi Hospital is just another terrorist stronghold used to connect and transfer terrorists and weapons throughout Gaza to be used against Israelis,” the IDF wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), after recovering the tunnel.

In recent weeks, IDF soldiers led by the 162nd Division’s 401st Brigade, in collaboration with Flotilla 13 and the ‘Yahalom’ Unit, discovered and searched three active tunnel shafts near Rantisi Hospital.
‘Yahalom’ soldiers searched the region, as well as the shafts and tunnels, employing a variety of methods to map the topography of the tunnels and the linkages between the shafts.
Notably, Yahalom is a sayeret unit of the Israeli Combat Engineering Corps of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).

Israel Strikes Over 150 Terrorist Targets in Gaza, Discovers Significant Hamas Assets

In the past 24 hours, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out extensive operations, targeting more than 150 terrorist sites in the Gaza Strip through air, sea, and land operations. The 888 “Refaim” multi-dimensional unit, part of the 99th Infantry Division, located a house in Jabalia, northern Gaza, owned by a senior Hamas member. The operation led to the discovery of suitcases containing approximately 5 million shekels (USD 1.35 million) in terrorist funds and numerous weapons.

Simultaneously, the IDF’s 646th Paratrooper Brigade attacked a terrorist infrastructure, uncovering a cache of weapons, explosives, combat equipment, RPG rockets, mortars, and ammunition. Forces also destroyed rocket launch sites used to target Israeli territory.

In Khan Yunis, an Israel Air Force plane identified a suspicious squad entering a Hamas terrorist infrastructure. The Givati Brigade infantry forces, with the assistance of a combat helicopter, eliminated the squad.

Additionally, Israel Navy forces engaged Hamas targets on the shores of the Gaza Strip, supporting ground forces in their anti-terror activities. The operations reflect Israel’s commitment to countering terrorist threats and maintaining security in the region.

IDF: Over 100 Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza war

The Times of Israel reported on Monday that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed the deaths of three additional soldiers during combat in the southern Gaza Strip, raising the total number of soldiers lost in the ground offensive against Hamas to 104. An explosive device in the Khan Younis area killed these soldiers. Four more soldiers were hurt in the incident, one of whom was critically injured. Information released by the IDF states that since the ground invasion began on October 27, about 600 IDF members have been injured.

In parallel, the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah disclosed that, between October 7 and December 9, at least 17,700 Palestinians have died in Israeli attacks in Gaza. The ministry, citing sources from the Hamas-controlled enclave, highlighted that 70 per cent of the casualties comprised children, women, and the elderly, as reported by CNN.
Meanwhile, in a show of solidarity with Gaza, Lebanon implemented a nationwide closure of all government offices and public institutions on Monday. Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced the closure, stating it was in response to the global call for Gaza and in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and the Lebanese border villages.
The IDF on Monday said that they identified “a number of launches” from Lebanon toward Israel on Monday, with Israel’s air defences intercepting six launches. The IDF stated that it is striking the sources of the launches. This development follows the previous day’s incident where several Israeli soldiers were wounded in northern Israel due to fire from Lebanon, according to CNN.

The IDF spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, confirmed the deaths of several hostages held by the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip, as reported by The Times of Israel on Saturday. He went on to say, “We are continuing to invest in many intelligence and operational efforts to bring information on the conditions of the hostages.”
According to the Times of Israel, Hagari informed the families of Eliyahu Margalit, Mia Goren, Ronen Engel, and Aryeh Zalmanovich, “in the last few days, the IDF and police notified the families of Eliyahu Margalit, Mia Goren, Ronen Engel, and Aryeh Zalmanovich of their deaths.”

“This comes after a team of Health Ministry experts, the [Abu Kabir Forensic Institute], the chief rabbi, and the Religious Affairs Ministry declared their deaths based on findings that were collected and intelligence,” Hagari said. He added that the four deaths were declared “based on findings that were collected and intelligence.” The announcement about hostage deaths comes as the IDF resumes its offensive in Gaza following the breakdown of a week-long truce.

During the truce, 105 civilians, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thai nationals, and 1 Filipino, were released from Hamas detention in Gaza in exchange for 210 Palestinian prisoners, all of whom were women or minors. According to The Times of Israel, Israel also allowed humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Still held hostage by Gaza terror groups when the truce collapsed were 136 people—114 men, 20 women, and two children—government spokesperson Eylon Levy said. Ten of the hostages are 75 and older. Five Palestinian terrorists were gunned down during a nighttime counter-terror raid in Jenin, according to the Israel Defence Forces on Friday morning. The IDF reported that the terrorists, involved in firing on soldiers, attempted to evade capture by seeking refuge in a local hospital.

During the operation, an Israeli drone targeted a group of terrorists engaged in an exchange of fire with IDF soldiers. Simultaneously, other assailants resorted to hurling explosives at the forces. Several gunmen managed to escape in cars and an ambulance, leading authorities to the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin. One of the terrorists was apprehended at the hospital entrance, and a subsequent search of his vehicle revealed three M-16 rifles.

In a parallel move, security forces in Hebron marked the homes of three terrorists linked to Thursday’s shooting at a Jerusalem checkpoint for demolition. The attack resulted in the tragic death of Avraham Fetena, a 20-year-old military police officer, and left five others injured. Hamas claimed responsibility for the checkpoint assault.
