A four-year-old boy in Wisconsin called 911 last week to report a strange crime ‘his mother devouring his ice cream!’ The boy, from the village of Mount Pleasant, was dead set on getting justice, refusing to let officers “come and get my mommy.”

On the call, the young boy informed a Racine County dispatcher, “My mom is being bad.” The dispatcher, perplexed, inquired, “Ok, what’s going on?” The child was steadfast, encouraging the police to act.

But his mother was quick to intervene, taking the phone to clarify the situation. “This little one got the phone, and he’s 4… And so we’re trying to catch him because he said he was gonna call 911,” she informed the dispatcher. The boy then defiantly inserted, “No—I called the police, and I just told her to come and get my mommy. and I just told her to put her to jail.”. So leave me alone.” His mother laughed and explained, “I ate his ice cream, so that’s probably why he’s calling 911.”

When the officers came, the child changed his mind and did not want his mother arrested anymore. He just wanted ice cream. The officers appreciated the humor in the situation and returned later with a sweet treat, ice cream with blue sprinkles for the boy.

A few days after a Mumbai doctor was horrified to discover a human finger in an ice cream cone, police have made a significant breakthrough that may identify the finger’s owner.

Investigations revealed that an employee at the Pune factory of Yummo ice cream suffered a finger injury in an accident. Police sources indicated that the ice cream containing the finger piece was packed on the same day as the accident. Samples have been sent for DNA testing, and confirmation on whether the finger belongs to the factory staff will be available once the results are in.

The incident, which has sparked serious concerns about food safety standards, occurred when Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao, 26, found a finger in an ice cream his sister had ordered online. “After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it could be a nut or a chocolate piece and spat it out to check what it was,” said Dr. Serrao. “I am a doctor, so I know how body parts look like. When I carefully examined it, I noticed the nails and fingerprint impressions under it. It resembled a thumb. I am traumatized,” he said.

Following a police complaint, a case was filed against Yummo on charges of food adulteration and endangering human life.

The Food Safety Standards of India (FSSAI) has suspended the license of the manufacturer supplying ice cream to Yummo. “The premises of the ice cream manufacturer have been inspected by a team of FSSAI’s Western Region Office and its license has been suspended,” the food safety regulator stated.

The discovery of a body part in the food item has also raised suspicions of a more significant crime, prompting police to investigate all possible angles.

“Wonder what Amul is adding to their ice creams these days,” wrote author and columnist Dr. Nandita Iyer on X. She recounted her experience, saying, “Ordered Amul vanilla gold from Zepto and opened it instantly. An oily, frothy liquid has separated. Gross stuff.”

“Also, this Zepto store isn’t keeping its freezer powered on for sure,” she further remarked. Following the post’s popularity, Zepto responded, “Hi, We regret this unpleasant experience. Could you please DM us your registered contact details or order ID? Our team will shortly get in touch with you.”

Iyer responded to Zepto’s comment, stating she had “interacted with customer service in chat” and had “alerted them about the state of frozen food items.”

“Already wasted 5 mins interacting with customer service on chat and alerted them that your storage of frozen food is not right. Maybe a food inspector needs to pay the stores a visit,” she added in the comments section.

One individual shared, “Had ordered milk which split after boiling. Zepto wanted pics of the packet (who keeps them?!) so no refund. The next time it happened and I sent pics they said: ‘Need real-time pics or videos’. Is it standard practice to take videos of boiling milk? But thankfully got a refund.”

“Exact same experience with Amul gold vanilla ice cream ordered via Zepto. Surprisingly, the regular Amul ice cream turned out fine,” added another. Iyer responded, “Maybe this gross liquid is the ‘gold’ in Amul gold.”

“I had similar experiences with Zepto many times and stopped ordering ice creams. Prefer Zomato for food items,” said a third. In response, Iyer said, “Deleting the app and slowly all of them. Going to go back to supermarket shopping gradually.”
