Gujarat ATS Arrests Man for Spying, Sharing BSF and IAF Info with Pakistan

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained a man named Sahdev Singh Gohil on charges of leaking secret information about the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Air Force (IAF) to a Pakistan-based handler.

Gohil, a Kachchh district-based multipurpose health worker, was called in for an initial interrogation on May 1, following intelligence inputs to the ATS that he was in touch with a Pakistani operative. While being interrogated, it came to light that Gohil had been in contact with a woman named Aditi Bharadwaj through WhatsApp between June and July 2023.

Gujarat ATS SP K Siddharth said, “Gujarat ATS arrested Sahdev Singh Gohil, a multipurpose health worker of Kachchh. We received information that he had been passing details relating to BSF and IAF to a Pakistani agent.”

Modus Operandi

According to investigators, Gohil learned about Bharadwaj’s true identity shortly after they started talking. In spite of knowing that she was acting on behalf of Pakistan, he allegedly started sending pictures and videos of BSF and IAF building sites through WhatsApp, as requested by her.

“In the first week of 2025, he purchased a SIM card on his Aadhaar Card and activated WhatsApp on the number for Aditi Bharadwaj using OTP,” Siddharth stated. The number was later allegedly used by the Pakistani agent to obtain the confidential visuals.

Financial Involvement

The authorities have disclosed that Gohil had been paid ₹40,000 in hard cash by an unknown person believed to be a member of the spy ring. His phone has been dispatched to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis.

“The numbers listed under Aditi Bharadwaj on WhatsApp were being used from Pakistan,” Siddharth confirmed.

Legal Action

A complaint has been lodged with both Gohil and the Pakistani handler under Sections 61 and 148 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The arrest is part of the ATS’s broader campaign to crack down on anti-national activities and those believed to be working for hostile foreign agents, mainly in connection with Pakistan.

Airbases Targeted Throughout Pakistan

Indian aircraft attacked Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi—one of Pakistan’s most important military bases. The base is home to the PAF Air Mobility Command and is close to Pakistan’s General Headquarters and nuclear command branch. The Indian Air Force targeted Sukkur base, under the Southern Command, and Rahim Yar Khan base, which aids civilian and military operations. It destroyed the entire Rahim Yar Khan runway, halting all flight operations.

Other major bases struck are Mushaf in Sargodha, where there are F-16s, Mirages, JF-17 Thunders, and special squadrons. Shahbaz Jacobabad base, previously employed by NATO troops, also suffered destruction. It contains JF-17 Block II fighter jets, F-16s, and AW139 rescue choppers.

New and Strategic Bases Damaged

IAF aircraft also targeted Bholari airbase, Pakistan’s latest facility to be opened in 2017. It suffered damage in the attack, targeting F-16s and Saab 2000 AEW&C surveillance aircraft. Rafiqui base, dedicated to a war hero from 1965, also sustained damage. Mirage 5 jets and JF-17s are based out of it.

Murid base was hit hard. It is Pakistan’s prime drone operations centre. It hosts Shahpar, Burraq, Wing Loong II, and Bayraktar TB2 drones. India presumably wanted to curb Pakistan’s UAV capability.

Radar and Defence Installations Hit

IAF did not rest at airfields. It struck radar and air defence installations at Pasrur, Sialkot, Chunian, and Lahore. They were destroyed with air-launched precision weapons. These radar installations offer early warning and tracking assistance to PAF operations.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh called the attack “swift and calibrated.” India targeted only military targets—command centers, radar installations, and weapon stores—leaving civilians out of it. Singh further commented, “These were calibrated responses intended to degrade Pakistan’s offensive capability without expanding the scope of conflict.”

The Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out precision strikes on military targets in and around Karachi, Pakistan, during Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director-General of Operations for the IAF, confirmed in a special briefing on Sunday evening. Air Marshal Bharti stated that the strikes were part of India’s “measured and calibrated” response to Pakistani aggression.

This included drone and missile attacks, small arms fire, and artillery shelling across the Line of Control. He confirmed the IAF had targeted military installations, including a surface-to-air missile site at Malir Cantonment in Karachi. “Malir Cantt. is a military base about 35 km from the city of Karachi,” the Air Marshal explained.

Radar Installations in Lahore and Gujranwala Also Targeted

The IAF also targeted radar sites in Lahore and Gujranwala in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Air Marshal Bharti said one of the radar stations, likely equipped with the Chinese-made HQ-9, was taken down by Israeli-made HARPY drones. Another radar site near Gujranwala was also hit.

Uttrakhand Forest Fire: IAF Controls Massive Fire In Pauri Garhwal District

As Uttarakhand continues to grapple with forest fire, the Indian Air Force on the second day of its operation, has commenced efforts to contain the forest fire near Adwani village in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.

Earlier, in the Pauri Garhwal district, thick smoke from forest fires engulfed the town of Srinagar. This resulted in a delay of the aerial firefighting operations initiated by the IAF.

Till afternoon, The Mi-17 helicopter remained grounded in the morning as there was a lack of visibility.

“The IAF chopper resumed its operation to douse the forest fires near Adwani and nearby areas in the afternoon on the second day. The thick smoke in the morning didn’t allow the chopper to begin its operation. It carried out five sorties. We will continue the operation to douse the forest fires using the chopper.”- said Swapnil Anirudh Garhwal divisional forest officer (DFO).

Taking to Twitter (Now X), IAF has recently announced, as a part of Bambi Bucket operation, they have poured over 4,500 litres of water from its Mi17 V5 helicopter to douse the flames in coordination with Uttarakhand government.

Meanwhile, the Congress has launched a blistering attack on BJP over the raging forest fire.

State Congress Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana said “The situation of forest fires continues to deteriorate in the state with each passing day, but CM Dhami is busy in the election campaign for his party outside the state. It seems there is no disaster management department in the state. When the government is failing to execute its duties in such an emergency situation, I urge the governor to intervene and pass instructions to the government for required action.”

Hailing from the Nonia-Karbal village in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, Corporal Vicky Pahade was a dedicated serviceman who had recently rejoined his unit on April 18 after visiting his family for his sister’s wedding. The 33-year-old, who had joined the IAF in 2011, leaves behind his wife, five-year-old son, mother, and three sisters.

The Indian Air Force, in a solemn tribute, saluted Corporal Pahade’s supreme sacrifice during the ambush with terrorists in Poonch. Air Chief Marshal V. R. Security Forces Release Sketches Of 2 Terrorists Involved In Poonch Attack, Offer Rs 20 Lakh Bounty

As the hunt for the terrorists responsible for the assault on the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district continued into its third day on Monday, security forces disclosed sketches of two suspects linked to the attack. Offering a combined reward of Rs. 20 lakhs, the sketches were unveiled on Monday (May 6), with assurances of confidentiality for individuals providing information on the terrorists’ whereabouts.

It’s important to highlight that a meticulously coordinated joint effort involving both the army and police is currently in progress across various regions, such as Shahsitar, Gursai, Sanai, and Sheendara Top, aimed at apprehending the terrorists thought to have sought refuge in a forest post-attack. Additionally, amidst the extensive search operation, approximately 20 individuals have been taken into custody by security forces in connection with the incident. Sources indicate that these detainees are suspected of providing assistance to the attackers.

It’s worth mentioning that during the encounter with terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir near Shahsitar on May 4, a total of five personnel sustained gunshot wounds as they were advancing towards Sanai Top in the Surankote area. Reportedly, the terrorists fired close to 30 rounds during the skirmish. All the injured personnel were promptly evacuated to the nearest military hospital for urgent medical treatment. Unfortunately, one of them, Corporal Vikky Pahade, succumbed to his injuries later on.

Simultaneously, the mortal remains of Indian Air Force soldier Corporal Vikky Pahade arrived in Chhindwara for his final rites today.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also arrived in Chhindwara. Speaking to media, he said, “Guard of Honour and State honours will be given to Corporal Vikky Pahade but no one can fill the personal loss. We are very proud of Vikky Pahade.”

Terrorist Attack In J&K’s Poonch: 200 Bullets Fired On IAF Convoy

Terrorists on Saturday night attacked an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir’s Sanai Top area, reportedly four soldiers were injured and one killed in this attack. Terrorists positioned at top of the hillsides beside the road targeted this convoy, which was making its way from Jaranwalli Gali to Shahistar Top, the location of the IAF’s base.

The last car was hit by the terrorists, stopping it, according to sources, and they then opened fire on the convoy from the flanks. It is said that in a fifteen-minute period, about two hundred rounds were shot at the car. But the terrorists were forced to retreat into the surrounding woodlands by the IAF personnel’s swift reprisal.

No terrorist organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, it is speculated, based on reports, that the perpetrators are familiar with the area’s terrain and may have been involved in previous attacks on security forces since last year.

Following the attack, all injured soldiers were swiftly evacuated and transported to Udhampur Command Hospital for treatment. Tragically, one of the five Indian Air Force personnel succumbed to his injuries. Corporal Vikky Pahade, a 33-year-old soldier from Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, and a resident of Nonia-Karbal village, who joined the unit on April 18 of this year, was among those injured.

In a tribute, the IAF, through its official communication platform X (formerly Twitter), expressed its condolences to Corporal Vikky Pahade’s family and honored his sacrifice, stating, “The CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and all personnel of Indian Air Force salute the braveheart Corporal Vikky Pahade, who made the supreme sacrifice in Poonch Sector, in the service of the nation Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Security measures in the Poonch district have been heightened following the attack. Security forces have initiated searches in the vicinity and have detained six locals for interrogation. Aerial surveillance has also been initiated in the hills of Shahsitar, Lassana Top, Sanai Top, Gursai, Sheendhara Top, and surrounding areas to monitor terrorist movements, believed to number four.

Investigators suspect that the terrorists received logistical support from locals and utilized US-made M4 rifles and AK-47 assault rifles in the attack.

He criticized the BJP for what he perceived as callous disregard for human life, attributing political motives even to tragic events. One member of the Indian Air Force (IAF) lost his life and four others sustained injuries when their convoy came under attack by terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir’s Surankote area. The incident, which took place at Sanai village, resulted in the injured personnel being promptly transported to the Command Hospital in Udhampur, where unfortunately, one of them passed away due to his injuries.

Following the attack, the local Rashtriya Rifles unit initiated cordon and search operations in the vicinity, with support from the Army and police, to track down the perpetrators. The IAF confirmed the incident through a tweet, stating that the targeted convoy had been secured, and emphasising the ongoing investigation.

Amidst a confrontation with the terrorists, the IAF personnel engaged in a firefight, during which five of them sustained gunshot wounds. IAF Bolsters Arsenal with Rampage Missile

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has deployed the Rampage, a long-range supersonic air-to-ground missile, capable of hitting targets up to approximately 250 kilometers away, substantially boosting the firepower of its fighter aircraft arsenal.

In recent airstrikes against Iranian targets, the Israeli Air Force reportedly employed the High-Speed Low Drag-Mark 2 missile extensively, a weapon that is included in the inventory of the IAF.

As per defense sources cited by ANI, the IAF has incorporated the Rampage missile into its fleet of Russian-made aircraft, including the Jaguar and Su-30 MKI fighter jets.

They mentioned that the Indian Navy has also equipped the missile for use with its MiG-29K naval fighter aircraft.

According to the reports, Indian fighter pilots will possess the capability to target and eliminate radar stations or communication centers utilizing the stand-off weapon.

The acquisition was conducted under the emergency authorization provided by the Defense Ministry to the armed forces, enabling them to procure essential equipment in response to the standoff with China that began in 2020.

The missiles have a greater range compared to the Spice-2000s utilized in the 2019 airstrikes on Balakot.

The IAF has placed orders for various weapon systems, including long-range systems sourced from both domestic and international suppliers.

Recently, the IAF conducted a test of the Crystal Maze-2, also known as the ROCKS missile, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Around two weeks ago, the air-launched ballistic missile effectively hit its target during testing.

The Russian aircraft fleet has seen notable expansion with the addition of the Rampage missile and its incorporation into the Su-30. This enhancement enables the Russians to deploy various long-range air-to-ground missiles, such as the BrahMos supersonic missile, with a striking range of nearly 400 km.

The IAF is contemplating the potential production of the Rampage under the Make in India initiative, aiming to introduce it in significant numbers.

Rajnath Singh confident of ‘disengagement, de-escalation’ along India’s northern borders

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is confident that Indian armed forces stationed along the country’s northern borders with China will not allow its troops to carry out any misadventure. Accoring to Singh a peaceful resolution to all the pending and disputed issues between the two countries will be found soon.

Speaking to the Army Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi on Tuesday he stated, “Disengagement and de-escalation is the way forward to deal with the current situation along northern borders.”

The Army Commanders’ Conference, a high-level biannual gathering, took place in the nation’s capital on March 28 in virtual form and on April 1 and 2, in person.

Singh praised the Border Road Organization’s (BRO) efforts, which despite challenging circumstances have resulted in a significant improvement in road connectivity in both the Western and Northern borders.

He applauded the Indian Army’s response to cross-border terrorism, citing the situation along the Western borders; yet, the adversary’s proxy war rages on. “I commend the outstanding synergy between the CAPF/Police forces and the Army in tackling the menace of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” stated Rajnath Singh. The region’s stability has been ensured following the coordinated actions in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and this trend should continue.

He went on to praise the military for their excellent operational capabilities and readiness, which he claimed he had always seen firsthand while visiting front regions.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to all the courageous people who gave their lives to defend their country. By establishing long-lasting cooperation partnerships with foreign armies, the Army has significantly advanced our national security interests through military diplomacy, which he praised.

“Defence diplomacy, indigenization, information warfare, defense infrastructure, and force modernization should always be deliberated upon in such a forum,” he said in closing. To prepare the Armed Forces for the future, doctrine adjustments should be made when needed. The government is dedicated to helping the Army advance on the path to reforms and capabilities modernization since the nation is proud of its armed forces.

Big boost for ‘Aatmanirbharta’, MoD signs defence contracts worth over Rs 30K cr

In a significant advancement for the “Make-in-India” campaign under “Aatmanirbharta in Defence,” the Ministry of Defence (MoD) inked five large capital acquisition contracts in Delhi on Friday, valued at Rs 39,125.39 crore. Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were present when the contracts were signed.

Two contracts with Larsen and Toubro Limited for the purchase of a Close-in Weapon System and a High-Power Radar, one with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the purchase of Aero-engines for MiG-29 aircraft, and two with BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited for the purchase of BrahMos missiles and a ship-borne BrahMos system for the Indian Defense Forces were among the five total.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has inked a contract to provide RD-33 Aero Engines for MiG-29 aircraft at a cost of Rs 5,249.72 crore. The HAL Koraput Division will be responsible for producing these aeroengines.

The IAF’s requirement to maintain the MiG-29 fleet’s operational capabilities for the remainder of its service life is anticipated to be met by these aero engines. The Russian OEM has granted a Transfer of Technology licence for the manufacture of the aeroengines. The program’s main goal is to improve the percentage of indigenous materials used in upcoming RD-33 aero-engine repair and overhaul activities by indigenizing a number of high-value, key components.

At a cost of Rs 7,668.82 crore, Larsen and Toubro Limited has secured a contract for the procurement of CIWS.

IAF plans to extend life of Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet by over 20 years

The Indian Air Force commenced the induction of Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jets nearly more than two decades ago and now intends to prolong the operational lifespan of these Russian-made combat aircraft by 20 years.

Currently, the Indian Air Force has incorporated 272 Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft into its fleet, and these twin-engine planes are expected to serve as the backbone of the force for the next 15-20 years.

According to defense officials, the Indian Air Force is actively exploring options to extend the service life of these fighter jets by an additional 20 years or more. To achieve this, the Indian Air Force conducts rigorous testing on the airframe and other components of the aircraft, drawing from previous experiences in this domain.

By extending the service life, the Indian Air Force aims to maintain its fleet of powerful Su-30s until approximately 2045-2050. Furthermore, the Indian Air Force is focused on enhancing the capabilities of these aircraft by incorporating significant upgrades in terms of indigenous advanced radars, avionics, and weapon systems.

The force is currently working on upgrading its fleet of Sukhoi-30 MKI fighters with indigenous weapon systems and a radar system called Virupaaksha. Government sources have revealed that the Virupaaksha radar is being developed domestically, taking into account the specific requirements of the Indian Air Force across various sectors. It is expected to be the most advanced radar among all the Sukhoi-30 variants used worldwide.

In addition, the Indian Air Force has embarked on a mission to indigenize its inventory of equipment and plans to procure equipment worth over Rs three lakh crore from Indian firms in the near future.

The Su-30MKI is a versatile air dominance fighter capable of carrying a wide range of weapons, including the Astra Mk-1 long-range air-to-air missile, Brahmos Air Launched missile, and various types of bombs.

IAF Scrambles Rafale Jets to Investigate UFO Sighting Over Imphal Airport

The Indian Air Force (IAF) took swift action in response to reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) near Imphal airport on Sunday. The sighting occurred around 2:30 p.m., leading to a temporary disruption of commercial flights. In response, the IAF scrambled Rafale fighter jets from a nearby airbase to investigate the mysterious objects. Equipped with advanced sensors, the Rafale aircraft conducted low-level flights over the area to locate the UFOs. However, the initial search and subsequent efforts by another Rafale fighter yielded no sightings.

Videos capturing the UFOs near Imphal airport prompted authorities to launch an inquiry into the incident. While the Eastern Command of the Indian Air Force activated its air defence response mechanism, specific details of the actions taken were not disclosed. Imphal airport was eventually cleared for normal flight operations after the investigation.

Eastern Command, in a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), said, “IAF activated its Air Defence response mechanism based on visual inputs from Imphal airport. The small object was not seen thereafter.”

The Rafale fighters of the Indian Air Force are deployed at the Hashimara air base in West Bengal and keep flying from different air bases in the eastern sector along the China border. The Rafale fighters recently also took part in the mega Air Force exercise Poorvi Akash along the China border where all major assets of the force participated along with the troops of the Army.

IAF helicopters deployed at site of bus accident in Doda’ Assar

Helicopters from the Indian Air Force (IAF) were sent to the scene of a bus accident at Assar in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The critically injured survivors were airlifted to Jammu by the helicopters. At Doda in Jammu and Kashmir, a bus plunged into a gorge, killing up to 38 people and injuring 19. According to Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, the bus carrying 55 people skidded off the Batote-Kishtwar national highway near Trungal-Assar and fell 300 feet downhill. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said in a statement regarding the incident that the state government would look into what caused it.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the tragic Doda bus accident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PM’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh also said a helicopter service was being arranged to airlift the injured.

Karnataka: HAL to hand over the first LCA trainer aircraft to IAF in Bengaluru

On Wednesday in Bengaluru, the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will present the Indian Air Force (IAF) with the first Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) twin-seater trainer version aircraft. Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari and Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt arrived at the LCA Tejas division plant.

The production of the LCA Twin Seater, which is built with the strategic goal of graduating aspiring pilots from Twin Seater variants to fighter Pilots, will be marked by this historic event today as the achievement of a significant milestone. Eight twin seaters will be delivered by HAL in FY 2023–2024 out of a total order for 18 twin seaters from the IAF. Additionally, 10 twin seaters would gradually be delivered by 2026–2027. IAF is also anticipated to issue additional orders.

The LCA-Tejas, India’s largest research and development program, flew for the first time in 2001 and has since reached a number of milestones. It is expected to be produced in large quantities by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in Bengaluru and will serve as the backbone of the IAF fleet in the years to come. HAL has already received an order for 123 aircraft, of which 32 fighters have been delivered to the IAF and two squadrons are already operational at Sulur AF base. At HAL, LCA Tejas series production is currently in full swing, and a progressive delivery schedule for the remaining aircraft is 2027–2028.

Bhopal: IAF holds aerial display to mark its 91st anniversary

To commemorate its 91st anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) organized an aerial exhibition above Bhojtal Lake in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

IAF moves LCA Tejas jets to Kashmir for flying experience in valley

For the fleet to gain experience flying in the valleys of the union territory located along Pakistan’s border, the Indian Air Force has relocated its indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas to Jammu and Kashmir. “The LCA fleet has been relocated to forward bases so that they can gain experience flying in valleys and conducting other operations. There, the fleet’s pilots are doing a lot of flying, according to defense officials. There are numerous bases for the Indian Air Force in the Union Territory, which are essential for operations against China and Pakistan as well as on the other front.

In order to give its pilots the experience of flying over the region’s distinctive terrain, the Indian Air Force continues to move its aircraft throughout both the northern union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. By giving the LCA Tejas fighter aircraft program strong support, the IAF is continually enhancing its capabilities. Two of the IAF’s squadrons have already been operationalized in the initial operational clearance and final operational clearance versions, and a contract has been signed for the 83 Mark1A aircraft that will be delivered in a few years.

The LCA Mark 2 and the AMCA, both of which are under development by the Defence Research and Development Organization, are also on the Force’s radar. With additions like the HAMMER, the Indian plane would be in a much higher category than the Pakistani and Chinese joint venture JF-17 fighter jet, which is already thought to be far less capable.

An Indian Air Force’s (IAF) trainer aircraft crashed in an open field in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar on Thursday.According to IAF officials, the Kiran trainer aircraft crashed near Makali village in Chamarajanagar district during a routine training sortie. Both the pilots of the aircraft ejected safely. “Both pilots including a lady pilot are safe,” said officials.A Court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the crash.

Operation Kaveri: IAF flight with 47 passengers onboard lands in India

An Indian Air Force flight carrying 47 passengers onboard has landed in India, taking the toll of evacuees to 3862 persons under Operation Kaveri, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday.

“An Indian Air Force C130 J flight carrying 47 passengers has landed in India. With this arrival, 3862 persons have been moved out of Sudan through #OperationKaveri,” the EAM tweeted.

The EAM said that it was because of the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure the safety of all Indians in Sudan that led to this complex exercise.
Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar wrote, “Prime Minister @narendramodi’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Indians abroad was our inspiration. Moving passengers to Port Sudan from various locations across the country in precarious security circumstances was a complex exercise.”

The aircraft that brought back 47 Indian evacuees from Jeddah to Delhi took off earlier this morning.
“IAF C-130J aircraft with 47 evacuees from Sudan is on its way to Delhi from Jeddah Nearly 3800 persons have now been rescued from Sudan under #OperationKaveri,” the MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted and informed about the same.Earlier today, a group of 9 stranded Indian evacuees from Sudan landed in Mumbai from Jeddah. After returning from the crisis-hit country, evacuees expressed their happiness.
Salim, who returned to India, said, “I went to meet my relatives. I was stuck in Sudan for about 20 days. When I contacted the embassy there, they served me very well and quickly.”

Meanwhile, Mubarak, another evacuee that returned to Mumbai said that the Indian embassy in Sudan has helped him a lot. “The Indian Embassy arranged food and gave shelter in its office. The Embassy also gave the bus service to go to Port Sudan,” he added.

UK’s Director of Aviation lauds India for high proportion of female pilots

The Director of Aviation for the Department of Transport in the UK praised India on Wednesday for its high proportion of female pilots and Digi Yatra.

Rannia Leontaridi, the Director of Aviation and Director General of Civil Aviation (UK) shared her views on ‘designing a future-proof aviation & airports system’ at the CAPA India Aviation Summit 2023 in the national capital. She said that the Digi Yatra is a phenomenal step by the government.

She also said, “I am jealous of the number of female pilots in India. We are a little behind.” She emphasized that customer-centric plans, Digitisation of services like innovation technology, and Decarbonisation are the key learnings.

Indian & Korean Armies intermingle closure of multidimensional air exercise

The Korean Air Force met with the Indian Air Force (IAF) conditional as the multilateral air exercise Desert Flag came to an end on Friday, according to a tweet from the IAF’s official media coordination center.

The IAF participated with five LCA Tejas and two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, and the visitors were also given an overview of the supersonic combat aircraft, Conspicuously, the Indian Air Force provisional embracing 110 Air Warriors arrived at Al Dhafra airbase of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for participating in Exercise Desert Flag VIII, the official press release of the Ministry of Defence stated.
The air exercise which took place from 27 February to 17 March was the first occasion when the LCA Tejas would participate in an international flying exercise outside India.

Exercise Desert Flag was a multilateral air exercise in which Air Forces from UAE, France, Kuwait, Australia, the UK, Bahrain, Morocco, Spain, the Republic of Korea, and the USA participated. The aim of the exercise was to participate in diverse fighter engagements and learn from the best practices of various Air Forces.
