The Hindi Challenge

In the clip, Arora begins by introducing the challenge, saying, “Let’s check my husband’s Hindi skills,” before showing Lee, who is holding their baby, various pictures of objects and asking him to name them in Hindi.

Lee impressively identifies a spoon as “chammach,” but hilarity ensues when presented with a picture of slippers. He confidently says, “Yeh bilkul aasaan, thappad!” When Arora questions, “Thappad?” Lee humorously clarifies, “Thappad with chappal,” leaving viewers in splits.

The humor continues as Arora shows a picture of a mosquito. Lee, quick to respond, jokes, “I know, I know, She is like you na, macchar,” eliciting more laughter.

Social Media Reactions

The video has sparked a wave of reactions online. One user commented, “This is gold! The way he says ‘thappad with chappal’ is just too much.” Another wrote, “The mosquito part had me rolling on the floor. He’s got the desi humour down!”

Many applauded the couple’s chemistry, with one remarking, “Their bond is so beautiful; this video made my day.” Others noted Lee’s confident, albeit humorous, engagement with Hindi. A viewer summed it up perfectly: “I can’t stop watching this. It’s the perfect blend of K-drama charm and Indian comedy!”

Tamil Nadu’s Deputy Chief Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, called on the people of the state to give their children Tamil names to resist efforts to impose Hindi. Speaking at an event on Tuesday, he subtly criticized the BJP-led Central government, accusing them of pushing Hindi through the new education policy.

Opposition to Hindi Imposition

Udhayanidhi stressed the importance of preserving Tamil identity, stating, “Many are attempting to impose Hindi on Tamil Nadu.” He urged new parents to choose “beautiful Tamil names” for their children, as a stand against these attempts. He emphasized Tamil Nadu’s strong resistance, saying, “Tamil Nadu will never accept Hindi imposition.”

He also mentioned that there had been previous attempts to change the state’s name and remove words like “Dravidam” from the Tamil Thaai Vaazthu (State song). “Until the last cadre of DMK is alive, until the last Tamilan is alive, none can even touch Tamil, Tamil Nadu, and Dravidam,” he declared.

Comments on Lok Sabha Delimitation

Udhayanidhi’s remarks followed a recent statement by his father, Chief Minister MK Stalin, who reacted to the Centre’s Lok Sabha delimitation exercise. MK Stalin had joked that people might now have to consider raising 16 children to counter the delimitation process. “But whatever be the outcome, provide Tamil names to your children,” MK Stalin added.

Udhayanidhi on Sanatan Dharma Controversy

Udhayanidhi also addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his previous comments on Sanatan Dharma, which had sparked a nationwide uproar. He clarified that his statements were based on the teachings of leaders like Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and his grandfather, Kalaignar. Despite facing legal cases across India, he stood by his words, stating, “I am Kalaignar’s grandson, and I will not apologize for anything.”

He reiterated his earlier stance, saying Sanatan Dharma should not just be opposed but eradicated, likening it to diseases like malaria or dengue that require elimination.

</excerpt>

A recent post by an Indian-origin man working for a US-based company has stirred significant backlash on social media. The post, which suggests that candidates should “politely decline” job offers if their prospective manager mixes Hindi with English, has been viewed over 1.1 lakh times and garnered nearly 600 comments.

In his post, the man advised, “A lot of Indian friends are entering the job market, switching jobs, among other things. The biggest advice I have to avoid bad managers and companies is: pick a manager who speaks fully in English. During interviews, pay attention to how your future boss is talking. If you notice one Hindi word or Hindi sentence (frequently to other colleagues), politely decline the job after the call. It will not be worth it.”

He further elaborated, “If a manager doesn’t know English and only knows Hindi/Regional languages, that’s totally fine. But if you get a language mixer, your life will be terrible and you will regret your decision.”

Social Media Backlash

The post quickly went viral, sparking a heated debate. Many users criticized the man for his views, arguing that language proficiency should not determine the quality of a manager or a workplace.

One user commented, “This is the most terrific advice I saw on the internet, lol. Language has nothing to do with how a person behaves.” Another added, “It really shows that you’re disconnected from the bottom 90% of society. Work in Manufacturing or a Darshini for a month, and your opinion will change.”

A third user remarked, “If your manager or colleague has such opinions, then politely decline the job offer,” while a fourth pointed out, “Judging bad managers because of their language ability is like judging the taste of a fish by their ability to talk.”

Broader Implications

The post highlights a broader issue of language bias in the workplace. Many argue that multilingualism can be an asset rather than a detriment, and that the ability to speak regional languages alongside English should not be viewed negatively.

The debate also underscores the importance of focusing on a manager’s skills, competence, and behavior rather than their language preferences.

‘When Hope Dies, Akhanda Arrives’ – Get ready to experience high voltage entertainment like never before with the Hindi release of the mega-blockbuster Akhanda starring Nandamuri Balakrishna! A year after its Telugu release, producers Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios and Sajid Qureshi now bring audiences the Hindi version of the action drama film, written and directed by Boyapati Srinu.

A true feast for hard-core Balayya fans that weaves a historical story with mass moments, ‘Akhanda’ is high-voltage, whistle-worthy and a true-blue mass entertainer that grossed 120.8 crore at the box office.

Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role alongside Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu, and Srikanth, ‘Akhanda’ emerged as the second highest-grossing Telugu film of 2021 and the highest-grossing film of Balakrishna’s career. The film which marks the third collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu also premiered on OTT last year to become one of the most watched regional films on the platform.

After much anticipation, the Hindi-market audience will now get to witness and revisit the high voltage entertainer as ‘Akhanda (Hindi)’ hits theatre screens on 20th January 2023.

Says Dr. Jayantilal Gada, “If the last year has taught us anything it’s that the audience is craving mass entertainers and visual spectacles that merit a theatre viewing. We believe ‘Akhanda’ is a film that will find takers in different language markets and has Pan-India appeal considering Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fanbase and the high-octane action and entertainment that the film delivers.”

Presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) and produced by Sajid Qureshi ‘Akhanda (Hindi)’ stars Nandamuri Balakrishna. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu the film will release in cinemas on 20th January 2023.

“You would know Hindi is being used in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). As far as the use of Hindi in its headquarters is concerned, we have an MoU with them. They are using it in social media and newsletters. It will take some time to expand this. “It is not so easy that a language is introduced in the UN process,” Jaishankar said at an event in New Delhi. He also launched the logo and the website of Vishwa Hindi Diwas along with V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Permanent Secretary for the Fijian Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts, Anjeela Jokhan.

Indeed, Fiji feels blessed and privileged to be the first country in the Pacific to host this prestigious event. “

In a first-of-its-kind step in the country, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Hindi version of MBBS course books on Sunday in Bhopal.

On the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state medical education minister Vishwas Sarang were also present.

“Today Amit Shah has brought a new dawn in the lives of children of the poor, who could get admission to medical colleges but were caught in the web of English and many times could not pass exams and left their studies,” CM Chouhan said.

Meanwhile, to start the MBBS course in the Hindi language Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country. Three subjects Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry have been selected to be studied in Hindi.

Moreover, for the last 232 days, a team of 97 experts has been working on the preparation of books at the Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. The team translated the book from English to Hindi.

Earlier in the morning, Madhya Pradesh medical education minister Vishwas Sarang said, “It is a big day. For the first time in the country, medical education in Hindi will begin in Madhya Pradesh. Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the Hindi versions of textbooks of all three subjects of the first year – Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry today.”

“This is a matter of joy for me. It now becomes clear that if medical education is possible in Hindi, any course is possible in Hindi. This will bring a major change in the lives of youth, especially those from Hindi backgrounds,” Sarang stated.

To start an MBBS course in Hindi is a great achievement and it is an emotional moment, the Minister said.

“My father was also a Hindi litterateur, he also had a dream of it, today, I am starting it with his blessings. After the completion of 75 years of independence, no greater work could have been done than this. English is a symbol of slavery, Hindi was lagging behind somewhere,” Sarang added.

An expert involved in the translation said, “It was not an easy task but we prepared it in very easy language. We have prepared it so that it will be helpful in the studies of the students.”

However, the new edition of Medical Biochemistry contains the application of some new chapters which include several new line diagrams, tables, and text boxes.
