‘It Was Either Him or Us’: Goldy Brar Reveals Why He Killed Sidhu Moosewala

June 13, 2025, 11:10 am

The shocking 2022 daylight murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala continues to raise questions. A new documentary by the BBC titled ‘The Killing Call’ takes a deeper look into the events leading to his death, with gangster Goldy Brar, one of the accused, offering details through audio recordings. It reveals gang rivalries and a kabaddi dispute behind Sidhu Moosewala’s death.

Sidhu Moosewala Murder: Gang Dispute?

According to investigative journalist Ishleen Kaur, “Sidhu was in touch with Lawrence Bishnoi” during his early days in Canada. However, over time, Sidhu also became friendly with Bishnoi’s rivals—the Bambiha gang. This dual association appears to have triggered rising tensions between Sidhu and the Bishnoi group.

A music associate mentioned that the turning point came during a kabaddi match organised by gangster Mandeep Dhaliwal, a Bambiha gang member. Sidhu Moosewala was invited to perform at the event in Bhago Majra, a village linked to Bishnoi’s rivals. “The first dispute was the kabaddi game at Bhago Majra… He was promoting our rivals,” said Goldy Brar in the documentary. “That’s when Lawrence and others were upset with Sidhu. They threatened Sidhu and said they wouldn’t spare him.”

Murder of Vicky Middukhera Intensifies Rivalry

In August 2021, the murder of Vicky Middukhera, a close friend of both Lawrence and Goldy, worsened the situation. Though the Bambiha gang allegedly took credit, the incident cast suspicion on Sidhu, due to his links with the gang.

Later, when a chargesheet was filed, Shaganpreet Singh, a close associate of Sidhu, was named as someone who helped the shooters. HGS Dhaliwal of the Delhi Police said, “Shaganpreet hosted the shooters, gave them accommodation.” Shaganpreet fled the country, but rumours tied Sidhu to the murder.

Goldy Brar stated, “Everyone knew Sidhu’s role (in Vicky’s death), the police knew, even the journalists knew. He was using his political power, his money, his resources to help our rivals, those who killed our brother. We wanted him to face punishment for what he’d done. He should have been booked. He should have been jailed, but no one heard our plea. So we took it upon ourselves. When decency falls on deaf ears, it’s the gunshot that gets heard.”

He added, “We had no option but to kill him. He had to face the consequences of his actions. It was either him or us. As simple as that.”

Murder Of Sidhu Moosewala

Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Punjab’s Mansa district. He was attacked by a group of assailants while driving his SUV, just a day after the state government reduced his SUV, just a day after he was forced to reduce his security by the state government.

The attackers fired over 30 rounds at close range, leaving Moosewala dead. The killing shocked fans across the world and was later linked to gang rivalry, with gangster Goldy Brar claiming responsibility.

Sidhu is still a revered and respected figure in the hip-hop community across the world, with rappers like Burna Boy, Drake, and KSI shouting him out and paying tribute to him on multiple occasions.

5 Canada-Based Gangsters Running India’s Underworld: Beyond Arsh Dalla, The Gangland Threat

December 1, 2024, 2:24 pm

Canada is increasingly being likened to the “new Pakistan” for harbouring India’s most-wanted criminals. Over half a dozen gangsters and terrorists have found refuge in Canada, using it as a base to orchestrate anti-India activities. While Pakistan is notorious for sheltering terrorists, Canada has become a hub for gangsters who operate black-market networks, including targeted killings and other unlawful ventures, from the safety of its borders.

The Most-Wanted Gangsters Operating from Canada

Lakhbir Singh Landa: A Criminal Empire Spanning Countries

Originating from Jalandhar, Punjab, Lakhbir Singh Landa is a professional criminal with charges including murder, kidnapping, and illegal arms trafficking. Despite frequent bail releases in India, Landa fled to Canada in 2017 and joined the Khalistani terrorist group BKI. Now based in Edmonton, Alberta, Landa runs an expansive criminal network across Canada and other nations.

Goldy Brar: The Mastermind Behind Moosewala’s Murder

Goldy Brar, residing in Canada, has been declared a terrorist under India’s Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). A close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, Brar is accused of masterminding the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala. Originally from Muktsar, Punjab, Brar fled to Canada in 2021, where he continues to control a vast empire of criminal activities.

Charanjit Singh (Rinku Bihla): Gangster-Turned-Facilitator

Charanjit Singh, also known as Rinku Bihla, hails from Barnala, Punjab. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, he has a history of murder and extortion cases. Once an associate of Hardeep Nijjar, Rinku is notorious for aiding other gangsters in escaping to Canada. Punjab Police issued a lookout notice against him in 2021.

Arsh Dalla: A Key Khalistani Operative

Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla, is a significant member of the Khalistan Tiger Force. Closely linked with Hardeep Nijjar, Dalla fled to Canada in 2020 after committing a murder. From there, he is alleged to operate terror modules in India under the guidance of Pakistan’s ISI.

Ramandeep Singh (Raman Judge): A Hitman from Afar

Ramandeep Singh, also known as Raman Judge, is connected to the infamous Jaipal Bhullar gang. Based in Canada, he has orchestrated multiple targeted killings in India. He is the brother of jailed gangster Gagan Judge and a key player in India’s organised crime scene.

A Growing Threat to International Security

The activities of these individuals underscore the growing menace of organised crime and anti-India operations being managed from Canadian soil. Their actions not only threaten India’s internal security but also raise questions about Canada’s stance on harbouring such individuals. As their networks expand, the implications for international law and order become increasingly concerning.

Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara Take Responsibility

Goldy Brar Takes Responsibility

Gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the blasts via a social media post. According to their statement, the target was De’orra restaurant and Sevillee bar and lounge, both owned by rapper Badshah. The post also revealed that the gang had contacted the restaurant owners with an extortion demand, which went unanswered.

The blasts resulted in shattered window panes and minor structural damage to the targeted venues, as well as a nearby club. No casualties were reported. The Chandigarh Police have initiated an investigation to identify the suspects, with bomb detection squads and the Chandigarh Forensic Science Laboratory assisting at the scene.

Sources suggest the explosion was caused by homemade bombs, possibly intended for extortion purposes. Although the police have not confirmed whether the attack was a crude bomb attempt, the authorities are focusing on determining the cause.

Goldy Brar is a notorious gangster who previously claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed on May 29, 2022. Brar was declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in January 2024.

India demands to know why Canada quietly dropped fugitive Goldy Brar from its most-wanted list

November 7, 2024, 3:49 pm

In the midst of escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, the quiet removal of Satinderjit Singh, known as Goldy Brar, from Canada’s most-wanted list has drawn significant attention. Brar, implicated in high-profile crimes in India, including the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, was added to Canada’s BOLO (Be On the Lookout) Program‘s Top 25 list in May 2023. However, by April 2024, his name was discreetly removed.

Former Indian High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, highlighted this development in October 2024, questioning the sudden disappearance of Brar’s name from the list. Verma stated, “When we were discussing on the government channel (with Canada), we shared the name of Goldy Brar who is also on our list for extradition. In the Canadian system, the RCMP doesn’t bring out any wanted list. But there is a civic organisation ‘Bolo’ which in back-channel consultation with authorities in Canada they take out list of 10 most wanted persons. Next time we looked at the same list, it was all gone. What happened?”

In response, Canadian authorities explained that Brar’s removal was to “make room for recent cases.” The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) clarified that the BOLO Program, supported by a charitable organization, manages the list, and the RCMP collaborates with BOLO but does not control its content. BOLO added that Brar’s inclusion was an exception, as the list typically features Canadian fugitives, and his case was featured for about a year before the annual update.

Brar’s criminal activities have been a point of contention between the two nations. In January 2024, India’s Ministry of Home Affairs designated him a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), citing his association with the banned Khalistani organization Babbar Khalsa International. His connections with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi have further complicated matters, with allegations of their involvement in transnational crimes.

The removal of Brar from Canada’s most-wanted list has intensified discussions on the effectiveness of international cooperation in combating organized crime. India has expressed concerns over Canada’s handling of extradition requests and the perceived leniency towards individuals involved in serious offenses. This situation underscores the complexities of addressing cross-border criminal activities and the need for transparent and collaborative efforts between nations.

As the diplomatic dialogue continues, the case of Goldy Brar serves as a focal point in the broader discourse on international law enforcement cooperation and the challenges inherent in managing fugitives operating across borders.

Salman Khan Speaks Out On Firing At Home: Woke Up To Gunshots

June 13, 2024, 10:54 am

Actor Salman Khan disclosed that he was awakened by the sound of gunfire on April 14 when two bike-riding assailants fired shots outside his Bandra residence in Mumbai. Police have stated that the shooters, allegedly hired by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, conspired to assassinate Khan.

On June 4, a four-member team, including an officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch, visited Khan’s home to record statements from him and his brother Arbaaz. The two brothers were interrogated for a combined six hours. Khan expressed his awareness of the danger to his life and thanked the police for their assistance in the investigation.

Salman Khan recounted to the police that he had been at home and slept late after a party. The noise of a bullet striking his balcony woke him up. He went to the balcony to investigate but saw no one. Arbaaz Khan, who was at his Juhu residence during the incident, also gave his statement, acknowledging previous threats from the Bishnoi gang.

Salman Khan’s statement took three hours to record, while Arbaaz’s took two hours, with over 150 questions posed to both brothers. Their father, Salim Khan, was also present during the firing but his statement was not recorded due to his advanced age.

On April 14, two motorcyclists fired outside Khan’s Bandra home. Subsequently, police arrested four suspects: Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal in Gujarat, and Anuj Thapan along with another individual in Punjab on April 26. Anuj Thapan later passed away, while in police custody.

Authorities revealed that the Bishnoi gang had plotted to attack Khan’s car in Panvel, Maharashtra, using weapons sourced from a Pakistani arms dealer. The gang, led by Lawrence Bishnoi, his Canada-based cousin Anmol Bishnoi, and associate Goldie Brar, had reportedly acquired AK-47s, M-16s, and other high-caliber weapons. The plan involved either ambushing Khan’s vehicle or targeting his farmhouse in Panvel.

Is Goldy Brar Alive Or Dead? : US Police Refutes Gangster’s Murder Report

May 2, 2024, 11:09 am

Rumours that Goldy Brar, the alleged mastermind behind singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder, died in a recent shooting incident in California have been categorically refuted by US police. Officials report that the event happened yesterday in Fresno, California, at Fairmont and Holt Avenue. After an altercation, two people were shot. Regretfully, one of the victims died as a result of wounds received at the hospital.

In the aftermath of the incident, speculations flooded social media platforms, suggesting the deceased to be Goldy Brar, a reputed gangster based in Canada. The sources revealed that the altercation unfolded at Fairmont and Holt Avenue, resulting in injuries to Brar and another individual. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene where unidentified assailants targeted Brar and his companion before fleeing the scene. Police officer Lasley Williams confirmed the casualties, with Brar succumbing to his injuries.

Surprisingly, Arsh Dalla and Lakhbir came forward and openly said they were to blame for Brar’s purported death, blaming their long-standing animosity for the incident. Official comments from the criminal factions led by Lawrence Bishnoi or others, however, have not yet surfaced.

“If you’re asking because of the rumours on the internet that the shooting victim is ‘Goldy Brar,’ we can assure you that this is completely untrue,” said Lieutenant William J. Dooley in response to questions. He played down the accusations as “misinformation,” pointing out that the police force has had requests for information from all around the globe. Xavier Galdney, 37, has been identified as the deceased person involved in the incident, as per informed local reports.

Goldy Brar’s association with Moosewala’s murder stems from his alleged involvement in the crime, initially attributed to the Lawrence Gang before Brar’s confession. Sidhu Moosewala, a renowned Punjabi artist known for blending traditional folk music with contemporary hip-hop, tragically met his demise in May 2022, falling victim to brutal violence.

Initially, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder. However, Brar eventually confessed to the crime during a televised appearance, citing Moosewala’s alleged role in the murder of Lawrence’s associate, Vicky Midukhera, as the motive.

Furthermore, last year, Goldy Brar confessed to targeting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan next, vowing to continue their efforts against their adversaries as long as they’re alive.
