A five-year-old boy was badly injured when he was run over by a car inside the SG Grand Society in Rajendra Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad, at around 4:30 PM on February 24. The woman who was driving stopped for a second and fled the spot thereafter. The shocking footage from the CCTV has created an outrage among the residents.

Woman Escapes

The CCTV recordings show that a white Honda City entered the society premises and ran into the child who was playing with other children. The front wheel of the car ran over his body, causing him to suffer a fractured right thigh bone, and several cuts to his right hand, left leg, and back.

Despite his critical condition, the child has fortunately stopped short of dying. A woman, identified as Sandhya, stopped the vehicle, got out, and assessed the child, but after a minute, fled the scene.

Investigation by Police

Following the grievous incident, the victim’s father complained to the Nandgram police station. Authorities have filed charges against Sandhya under Sections 281 and 125B of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

The police then started an active investigation to bring the responsible party to justice for the suffering child. The child is receiving medical treatment at Atlanta Hospital in Vasundhara. As for his medical report, his condition is stable but serious.

Manoj Kumar, a 36-year-old businessman, was arrested by police on Wednesday after the incident. He has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for wrongful restraint and intentional insult, among other offenses. During police questioning, Kumar reportedly stated that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the altercation.

The teacher, identified as Mohammad Alamgir, reported that the verbal attack began when he was waiting for the elevator on the ground floor of the Panchsheel Wellington society. He claimed that Kumar approached him aggressively and insisted that he chant “Jai Shri Ram.”

Ghaziabad: Teen Falls From 6th Floor Balcony While Filming Reel

In Noida, a 16-year-old girl sustained injuries after falling from the balcony of her sixth-floor apartment in Indirapuram on Tuesday evening. The teenager, Molisha Ahluwalia, a Class 11 student, was reportedly filming a video on her mobile phone at the time of the fall.

According to ACP Swantantra Singh of Indirapuram, Molisha fell from the sixth floor of the Cloud 9 society, landing in a large flower pot on the ground floor, which ultimately saved her life. Despite this fortunate landing, she suffered head injuries and other wounds and is currently undergoing treatment.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that around 4 p.m., Molisha was on the balcony of her house when she suddenly fell. The security guard of the building heard a loud sound, and upon checking, found Molisha lying in a pool of blood,” ACP Singh stated.

While the fall caused a fracture in her leg, police confirmed that Molisha is out of danger. No complaint has been filed by the family members regarding the incident.

ACP Singh added that it is likely Molisha lost her balance while making the video, leading to the unfortunate fall.

Kanwar Yatra: Ghaziabad Schools Closed From July 29 To August 2

To ensure safety during the Kanwar Yatra, all schools in Ghaziabad will be closed from July 29 to August 2. This decision, announced by District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh, is due to the large number of Shiva devotees traveling with holy water from Haridwar to various states, including Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi.

Officials have imposed a ban on all vehicles, including small and light ones, to manage the large crowds and ensure smooth and safe travel for the Kanwariyas (devotees). The closure of schools aims to avoid traffic disruptions and ensure the safety of students and school buses during this busy period.

The Ghaziabad Police has increased security in the area following an incident where a car allegedly hit some Kanwariyas in Muradnagar. The Kanwariyas then attacked the driver and vandalized the car, leading to a traffic jam and a blockade on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. In response, two companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been stationed at key locations, including the Ganga Canal Bridge in Muradnagar, and security has been strengthened throughout the district.

Faheem, who is closely associated with gangster Hashim Baba, was identified by the police as the mastermind behind a recent operation. He had kept Moin, a 19-year-old resident of Loni, Ghaziabad, as a backup in case the original plan failed.

Three days after a man was shot dead inside a ward at GTB Hospital, the police made another arrest. Moin, one of the key conspirators, conducted surveillance of the hospital multiple times along with his associates Ayan, Aman, and Shavez. “He did this surveillance for four days in a row, gathering details about the hospital’s entry and exit points,” said Surendra Choudhary, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Shahdara district.

According to the police, Faheem specifically hired Moin to provide backup to the shooter if anything went wrong. “Moin’s role was to be on standby and also to hide the motorcycle used in the act,” explained DCP Choudhary. The police have already arrested two others, Faiz from Loni and Farhan from the Chauhan Bangar area in Delhi, for providing logistical support for the shooting. The attack is believed to have been carried out by members of the Hashim Baba gang, who mistakenly targeted Riyazuddin, a 32-year-old man, thinking he was a rival gang member admitted to the hospital.

Ghaziabad Man Arrested for Smuggling 100 Baby Turtles In Delhi

A man from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for smuggling turtles. He was caught by Delhi Police after a tip-off led them to set up a trap. The police team, led by Inspector Satyawan, kept watch in areas like Raja Ram Kohli Marg and under the Pusa Road flyover in Geeta Colony. This operation resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old man named Bheem and the recovery of 100 baby turtles from him.

Bheem, involved in smuggling turtles and other species, revealed during interrogation that a case had recently been filed against his associate, Ravi Bhatnagar, at Nandgram Police Station in Ghaziabad for a similar crime. Bheem confessed that he sourced the turtles from the Ganga river in the Garhmukteshwar area, also known as Garh Ganga, and from nearby rivers.

DCP (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary mentioned that a search was ongoing to capture Bhatnagar. On Tuesday, Bheem was spotted by the police team around 1:15 pm riding a scooter with a large bag from Shakarpur. Identified by an informant as the suspected smuggler, Bheem was stopped, and upon inspecting the bag, the police found several live turtles. Bheem couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the turtles, leading to his arrest and the seizure of his scooter and the turtles.

The Delhi Police have filed a case against Bheem at Geeta Colony Police Station under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The Wildlife Department has also been informed about the seizure.

Delhi-Meerut Highway To Remain Closed Due To Kanwar Yatra For 5 Days

The Police have decided to shut down the Delhi-Meerut highway owing to Kanwar Yatra for 5 days.

Hence, a whole of Ghaziabad stretch is closed. From July 28 night, the six lanes of expressway, which stretch from UP Gate at Delhi border to Kashi toll plaza near Meerut border will be shut.

However, the neighboring NH-9 lanes will be opened. Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra revealed that establishments are deciding on a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the upcoming period.

Meanwhile, in a previous year, the police had transferred the traffic from DME to NH-9, as a result, most vehicles were taken to DND Flyway and Noida Expressway via Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Quoting TOI, Mishra said, ‘Last year, we observed that most of the dak kanwariyas used DME. Therefore, this year, we will allow them to use DME and will divert other vehicles. A diversion plan when ready will be shared on social media platforms and other channels to avoid inconvenience to commuters.’

At Ghaziabad during Kawar yatra, the devotees from UP districts and Delhi utilize these main routes to go to Haridwar. While those who travel on foot, usually use Pipeline Road from Loni border to go to Niwari.

The Dak Kawariyas, who come barefoot and sprint along with team of relay runners, following them in trucks & bikes, utilize DME. Many of them also utilize NH-34 utilizing GT road.

Ghaziabad Fire Tragedy: Family Wiped Out By Tragic Incident

A devastating fire linked to an LPG cylinder leakage has resulted in the tragic deaths of seven family members in Ghaziabad’s Defence Colony, authorities confirmed on Monday. The incident, which occurred a week ago, initially claimed the lives of a 36-year-old woman and her two daughters. Sadly, her husband and son succumbed to their burn injuries during treatment later.

The victims were identified as Nathu Ram (55), his son-in-law Sonu Kumar (35), and his brother-in-law Mukesh Kumar (40), along with Mukesh’s wife Bhagmati Devi (36) and their three children—Ankit Kumar (17), Himani (18), and Priyanka (16).

Assistant Commissioner of Police Siddharth Gautam from Shalimar Garden described the sequence of events, stating that the fire erupted while Bhagmati Devi was preparing lunch and inadvertently ignited the gas, which had leaked and spread in the house. This led to severe burn injuries for all seven individuals present.

Despite prompt response from the fire department, which dispatched teams immediately upon receiving the distress call at 12:07 pm, and effectively controlled the fire within minutes, the injuries sustained were critical. Tragically, Bhagmati Devi and her daughters Himani and Priyanka succumbed to their injuries at GTB hospital in Delhi shortly after the incident.

The casualties continued to mount as Mukesh and his son Ankit also lost their lives during treatment at the hospital. Mukesh suffered extensive burns covering 60-70% of his body and passed away on Sunday, while Ankit, with burns ranging from 70-80%, succumbed on Monday.

Officials from the fire department conducted an inspection of the site and confirmed the cause of the fire as a leakage in the LPG cylinder, a common household hazard. They noted an increase in fire incidents in Ghaziabad during the summer season, reporting a total of 737 incidents between January and May 31 this year, compared to 504 during the same period in 2023.

The tragic incident has deeply affected the community in Defence Colony, highlighting the importance of fire safety measures and vigilance in handling gas appliances to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.

Fatal Fire in Ghaziabad: Three Dead, Four Injured Due To Gas Cylinder Leak

Three individuals lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries in a fire incident caused by a gas cylinder leakage at an under-construction building in the Defence Colony of Thana Tila Mod area in Ghaziabad district, as per police reports on Sunday.

Siddharth Gautam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shalimar Garden, stated, “We received information from locals regarding a fire outbreak at an under-construction house in the Defence Colony of Thana Tila Mod area.”

“Upon receiving the information, the fire service was alerted, and police reached the scene to extinguish the fire, rescue the injured, and transport them to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, three individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while the remaining four are undergoing treatment,” he added.

The investigation revealed that the fire erupted due to a gas cylinder leak while individuals were cooking in the room of the under-construction house.

“We are investigating all aspects that led to the accident, and appropriate legal actions are being pursued,” the official mentioned.

Ghaziabad Businessman Loses Rs 28 Lakh In Stock Trading Scam

A Ghaziabad businessman has reportedly been defrauded of Rs 28 lakh in a stock trading scam, according to the police.

The victim, Dinesh Kumar, 50, joined a WhatsApp group on April 3 that offered tips for trading on the NSE and US stock exchanges. Following advice from an investor who invited him to join the group, he opened a trading account and initially saw good returns, but soon started incurring losses, the police reported.

Kumar, a Vasundhara resident, eventually sought police assistance. “The man used to give NSE stock calls on the group, which looked very profitable. On May 5, he asked the group members people to join an international trading account, which, as per him, was registered on the SEBI website. He said he would give trading calls for NSE and US stocks for five weeks… I opened an account (using a) link on May 6, with an amount of Rs 30,000… and started trading,” Kumar alleged in the FIR.

The complainant verified the platform’s authenticity by withdrawing money. “He (the man) then (said) that he is creating another group, called ‘Investment Alliance’, for persons whose trading account had… more than Rs 10 lakh. I was (made a part of this) group. He (gave) trading calls (NSE stock calls) in the morning and US stock calls in the evening. The daily profit was more than 10 per cent,” the FIR read.

Kumar also mentioned that profits were being generated in the trading account and he deposited the earnings into various accounts in parts.

“On May 20, (the man) told the group that his firm… will give an… IPO allocation in… the trading account to those trading with him. I also got some shares; it was listed on May 28 and a profit to the tune of 100% was generated by the IPO,” Kumar stated in his complaint.

Kumar alleged that by the end of May, the man claimed he would launch another IPO for which people could apply and pay after the allotment.

“My trading account balance at that time was more than Rs 1 crore. I was an allotted IPO more than my trading balance. When I expressed my inability to deposit more funds and asked to withdraw my amount, they did not let me do so. (they) asked me to deposit more money. The total amount deposited by me till that time was Rs 27.57 lakh,” added Kumar.

The police have registered a case under Indian Penal Code Section 420 (cheating) and Section 66D of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008, at the Cyber Crime police station and are investigating.

“Such cases are increasingly rapidly. Fraudsters contact people through messages while they surf online for higher returns through trading. We have written to the banks regarding the account holders’ details where the money was deposited. Further legal action is being taken,” said an officer.

Ghaziabad Fire Tragedy: 25-Year-Old Mother Ran Back To Save Her Infant Son, Never Came Out Alive

On Wednesday evening, Shariq, 28, left his home in Ghaziabad to buy milk for his seven-month-old son Mohammad Sheesh. Upon his return, he discovered a devastating scene: a fire had broken out at his house, the only two-storey building in the crowded Behta Hajipur lane, killing his wife Farheen (25) and their child.

Farheen’s body was found holding her baby tightly. The smoke had suffocated them before the flames reached them.

Neighbor Mohammad Rashid (32) recounted that when the smoke blocked the door, the family rushed to the terrace for safety. “Farheen was halfway up the stairs when she realized her son was sleeping in the room. She ran back and never came out alive,” he told The Indian Express.

“Jab usko bahar nikala toh bachche ko seene pe rakha tha (When they took Farheen’s body out, she had held her son close to the chest),” a woman cried.

Shariq’s family also included his partially paralyzed father and his sister Uzma, 22. During the fire, his father was at a nearby mosque for prayers. Uzma is now fighting for her life at GTB hospital, with doctors reporting she has suffered 80% burns.

Shariq’s sister Nazira, 32, her husband Saif-ur-Rehman, 35, their daughter Ifra, 7, and their son Arsh, 10, were also in the house. Only Arsh survived.

Officials suspect the fire started from a short circuit in the electric meter. A spark fell on a gunny bag containing foam cups bought for Eid, which was stored on the ground floor, igniting the fire.

The ground floor served as a garage where Shariq’s Vitara Brezza car, Pulsar motorbike, and scooter were parked. All vehicles were destroyed in the fire.

Farhan, a neighbor, described seeing smoke from the garage. “As I opened the garage, the flames were all over my face,” he said. “I screamed for help.”

Shariq, struggling to hold back tears, recalled: “I had gone to fetch milk. When I returned, I saw flames everywhere.”

Nazira had come to Shariq’s house with her children for their summer vacation. Her husband had arrived earlier that day to stay the night and take them home on Thursday.

Shariq’s other two sisters were inconsolable. “Ek aakhri baar goud mein le lene do mujhe bachche ko (Let me hold the baby for one last time),” pleaded Shariq’s sister, who had come from Muradpur.

Outside the burns unit at GTB Hospital in Delhi’s Shahdara, Mohammad Faiz, 18, a relative, waited anxiously. “The doctor told us she (Uzma) is on the ventilator and is critical. Her face and body have burnt completely. Doctor told us that the ICU ward has no space and if her condition worsens, we will have to take her to Safdarjung Hospital,” Faiz said.

Another relative, Tehseen Khan, admitted he couldn’t bear to see the bodies. “They said it is all black bones, there is nothing left to see…,” he said.

Another factor contributing to the fire’s spread was that it began at 8 pm, and for the next 42 minutes, people attempted to extinguish it themselves before a neighbor, Ishtiyaq Khan, called 112.

The fire tenders arrived at 9.12 pm.

Five Including Two Children Die In A House Fire In Ghaziabad’s Loni

Five people, including a seven-month-old child, were killed in a massive fire that broke out in a house in Behta Hajipur village, located in the Loni border area of Ghaziabad district, last night, according to police reports.

Additional Police Commissioner of Ghaziabad, Dinesh Kumar P, stated that the fire was extinguished and two injured individuals, including a woman and a child, were admitted to the hospital. He said, “Late in the night (June 12), we received information that a fire has broken out in a house in the Loni area and people are trapped. On receiving the information, police and fire brigade reached the spot immediately.”

Providing more details about the incident, Dinesh Kumar P added, “A woman and a child were injured and they have been moved to the hospital. The fire spread from the ground floor to the higher storeys. The people on the first and second floors were trapped. Five people have lost their lives and they are being identified. The deceased include children, adults, as well as old people. A seven-year-old girl and a seven-month-old child also died in the incident. The ones who are injured are receiving treatment.”

The Additional Police Commissioner emphasized that the cause of the fire would be determined after an investigation. He noted, “According to some people, there were foam cubes in the house and because of that, the fire spread more aggressively. However, the real cause of the fire would be determined in the morning after inquiry.”

Breaking: Tejas Express Coaches Derails Near Ghaziabad Station

Two coaches of the Tejas Express traveling from Bhubaneswar to Delhi derailed near Ghaziabad railway station, resulting in minor injuries to some passengers. Fortunately, the train was decelerating as it approached the station, averting a potentially major accident.

The country has been experiencing an intense heatwave recently. The summer has been particularly harsh for those residing in the national capital region, with record-breaking temperatures. The sun’s relentless heat has affected not just humans but also animals and birds. In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the scorching temperatures have been distressing for all. Recently, a monkey fell from a tree due to the extreme heat. Fortunately, compassionate residents found the animal and quickly came to its aid.

In a now-viral video, several people can be seen trying to cool down the monkey with cold water. They also gave it some ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) to help it regain strength and stay hydrated.

The residents worked together to give the monkey a refreshing bath and massaged it with cooling oil for relief. They ensured the monkey drank plenty of ORS to remain hydrated. Their prompt and active care saved the monkey’s life.

Many viewers have taken to the comment section to share their thoughts and commend the residents for their efforts.

“The condition of animals is very bad in summer, and very few people pay attention to it… it was good to see it.” Another user added, “Not just humans, even animals are suffering from the heat.” “It is extremely hot, take care of yourself and your loved one,” wrote another one.

After several scorching days of heat, a massive dust storm struck Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously predicted strong winds and some light rain later in the evening. The peak temperature recorded in Delhi this summer reached 42 degrees Celsius earlier this week.

Delhi Police Bust Robbery Ring, Arrest Four

Four people were taken into custody by the Delhi police after they broke up a group of robbers who had been stealing iPads, laptops, cell phones, and other expensive items.

A few laptops, iPads, and cell phones were taken from various rooms of an apartment in Old Rajendra Nagar in New Delhi, according to five separate burglary reports that were reported to PS Rajendra Nagar on April 2.

In response to the theft accusation, a combined special staff team was established. On April 5, it was learned in confidence that one of the recipients of robbed goods was living in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

During the joint team’s operation on Solanipuram in Roorkee, they discovered one individual, Deepak. His business is laptop repair. Two iPads that had been taken during the search were found in his store.

In addition, Rahil Khan, an accused who lived in Azad Nagar, Ram Nagar, Roorkee, was also detained; from his possession, seven laptops and one additional iPad were found.

Khan admitted to stealing laptops from a teenager called Armaan during questioning. Police were also informed by the accused Rahil Khan that Armaan and his brother Aftab used to steal things together.

According to Rahil Khan’s intelligence, the police conducted multiple raids before arresting Armaan in Loni, Ghaziabad. In addition, the cops seized five stolen cell phones and two tabs from his person.

To capture the remaining culprits, the squad also conducted a raid in Gurugram. In connection with the investigation, the police arrested Raheeda at her home and took 84 cell phones out of her hands. There is currently an ongoing investigation into the matter.

According to an official on Sunday, a large-scale fire started at an ink factory located within the boundaries of the Niwari police station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. No casualties were reported, though.

“Around 1:05 p.m., we received the information that a massive fire had been broken out at an ink factory. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Upon reaching the spot, it was learned that there were chemical drums kept in a storage room, which had led to the fire. Within almost two hours, we brought the fire under control,” said Rahul Kumar, Chief Fire Officer, Ghaziabad.
“No casualties have been reported. However, there has been heavy damage to the factory”, he added.
Earlier this month, a massive fire broke out in a banquet hall in a multi-storey building in the Vasundhara area in Ghaziabad.

‘Very Poor’ Air Quality Raises Alarms in Ghaziabad, Residents Face Breathing Challenges

People in Ghaziabad district experienced respiratory issues and eye irritation as the air quality deteriorated to the ‘very poor’ category on Wednesday. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported multiple areas with poor air quality, reaching 348 in Sanjay Nagar, 373 in Vasundhara, 376 in Indirapuram, and 369 in Loni.

Concerned residents spoke of burning eyes, difficulty in breathing, and overall discomfort. A morning walker expressed, “We are facing problems due to the poor air quality. We can sense burning and irritation in the eyes due to the rising pollution levels. We are also facing difficulty in breathing. Senior citizens are affected the most.”

Simultaneously, Delhi witnessed a thick layer of smog, with air quality dropping to the ‘severe’ category in various parts. Citizens called for measures like the odd-even rule for vehicles. Suresh Kumar, a morning walker, stated, “The situation is worse. Pollution is occurring mostly because of vehicles. Odd-even should be implemented always, as it makes a difference.”

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) resumed using water sprinklers in 13 hot spots to combat pollution. Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad continued to grapple with ‘very poor’ air quality even after Diwali.

Health officials warned of the severe impact of such pollution on respiratory health, emphasizing the need for preventive measures. The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) reinstated dust mitigation measures, aiming to address the escalating pollution levels.

Increase in dog bite cases in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

According to statistics, the fear of dog bites is continuously growing in Ghaziabad because fresh incidents are being recorded every day. Government figures show that more than 150 to 180 injections are administered every day and that 70 to 80 new cases of dog attacks are reported every day.

Bhavtosh Shankhadhar, the chief medical officer in Ghaziabad, remarked, “We are pleading with the public to seek medical attention right once if they are bitten by a dog since, once infected, rabies makes it hard for the victim to survive. Therefore, do not conceal it and instead come in for treatment when necessary. All health facilities are providing rabies shots, and government hospitals have also made preparations.

Earlier, a 14-year-old kid in Ghaziabad died of rabies after concealing a dog bite from his parents for more than a month out of fear.”
