CEO Axes 99 Employees Over Slack for Missing Meeting: “Get the F*** Out”

A US-based CEO of a marketplace for musical instruments faced heavy backlash after firing 99 employees for missing a meeting. The incident gained traction when an intern posted a screenshot of the CEO’s expletive-filled Slack message on Reddit, sparking widespread discussion.

The Reddit user, who had just joined the company as an intern, claimed he was terminated within an hour of starting. In a post on Reddit’s Recruiting Hell forum, he shared a screenshot of the CEO’s angry message, revealing that 99 out of the company’s 111 employees were fired in one go.

“You’re All Fired”

In the Slack message, the CEO, identified as Baldvin, introduced himself before expressing his frustration with the employees’ lack of attendance at the meeting.

“For those of you who did not show up to the meeting this morning, consider this your official notice: you’re all fired,” he wrote.

He accused the absent employees of breaching their agreements. “You failed to do what you agreed to, you failed to complete your part of the contract, and you failed to show up to the meetings you were supposed to attend and work for,” the message read.

The CEO instructed the terminated staff to return any company property, log out of all accounts, and leave the Slack workspace immediately.

Baldvin criticized the fired employees for not taking the job seriously and highlighted the opportunity they missed.

“I gave you an opportunity to make your life better, to work hard, and to grow. Yet, you have shown me that you don’t take this seriously,” he wrote.

He noted that only 11 out of 110 employees attended the meeting, adding, “Those 11 get to stay. The rest of you are terminated.” Baldvin ended his message with a blunt directive: “Get the f*** out of my business right now.”

Reddit Reacts to the Termination

The message quickly went viral, leading to heated discussions on Reddit. Users on the Recruiting Hell forum questioned the circumstances surrounding the meeting and the CEO’s actions.

“I assume the CEO failed to inform the team about that meeting. I can not believe that 99 people will fail to attend a meeting if they got informed,” one user wrote.

Another wondered about the meeting details: “What kind of meeting was this that most employees missed anyway? Did he send a last-minute invite or something? Otherwise, I find it hard to believe 99 people just didn’t show up.”

Some users speculated that the mass firing was a cover for deeper issues. “I sense there’s something else going on. You don’t fire 90% of your staff for missing a meeting. You create a fireable situation so you can get rid of them without warning because there is a massive financial problem,” a commenter theorized.

While the situation seemed strange to many, the CEO was heavily criticized for his handling of the issue. Many Reddit users agreed the decision and the manner in which it was communicated were both unprofessional and extreme.

Firing Outside Salman Khan’s House in Mumbai, Investigation Underway

In the early hours of Sunday morning, around 5 am, gunshots were reportedly fired outside the residence of the Bollywood actor Salman Khan. As per the police, two unnamed individuals on a motorcycle fired 5 shots in the air outside the Galaxy apartments in Bandra before running away from the scene.

Further revealed by the police, one bullet had also targeted the first floor of the residence where the Bollywood actor along with his family reportedly lives.

In the aftermath of the scene, the security of the actor’s apartment was enhanced followed by the collection of CCTV footage by the police for the identification. Followed by the visit of crime branch personnels and forensic experts for the collection of evidence. Resulting in the start of the probe.

This incident comes around the time,when just the previous year, the National Investigation Agency revealed that the actor comes under the list of 10 main targets of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who the latter wants to kill. For the 1998 black buck hunting incident, which as per the gangster, has gravely hurt the sentiments of the Bishnoi community. Thus marking him target.

He further revealed that his right-hand man Sampat Nehra has put the khan’s residence under surveillance, making the target ripe for attack. However, a special task force of Haryana arrested Nehra.

Thus resulting in the enhancement of Salman Khan’s security (Y+). After another threat call.

For further safety measures so far, the actor was also issued a gun license and had also acquired a bullet-proof SUV.

Security forces continue search operation in Sugnu-Serou after violent clashes

According to army officials, search activities are being carried out by security personnel in Sugnu-Serou in Manipur following a firefight with rebels on the intervening night of June 5-6.Inputs suggest that insurgents have suffered casualties. On the ground, this is being confirmed. The Indian Army reported that during the initial search, the area had been cleared of two AK series rifles, one 51mm mortar, two carbines, ammo, and warlike supplies.

“Operations to sanitise the area is in progress,” they added.Earlier, a jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) sustained fatal injuries while two Assam Rifles personnel sustained gunshot wounds in Manipur’s Serou in firing between security forces and a group of insurgents.

“One BSF Jawan sustained fatal injuries while two Assam Rifles personnel sustained gunshot wounds (GSW) in general area Serou,” the Spear Corps of the Indian Army said in a statement.The BSF jawan Ct/GD Ranjit Yadav, who sustained bullet injury was evacuated to Jivan Hospital, Kakching where he was declared dead.The Indian Army along with Assam Rifles, CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) and police started its extensive area domination operations following the recent crisis in Manipur.

‘It was a clash between villagers and police’, says Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma talked about the firing incident and said firing has nothing to do with the border dispute between the two states.

The firing incident took place between Meghalaya villagers and a contingent of police and forest guards.

Talking to the media Sarma said, “Just to clarify that incident has nothing to do with the border, the way it is reported in national media. It was basically a clash between villagers and police regarding certain forest timbers.”

“The matter was related to some clash regarding timbers and we have ordered a judicial inquiry and also referred the matter to the investigation by CBI or NIA. Compensation has been announced and the person responsible is put under suspension,” Sarma said.

Meanwhile, Rs 5 lakh has been announced by the Assam Government to the kin of the six deceased persons, who died in the firing incident.

In the firing incident, six persons including one Assam forest official were killed in Mukroh in West Jaintia Hills on Tuesday.

Moreover, Meghalaya suspended mobile internet services in seven districts after the incident. The services were shut down across districts of Meghalaya namely West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, and South West Khasi Hills districts.

“I have also discussed with the Assam Chief Minister about the incident. We demand that a central agency should investigate. The National Investigative Agency (NIA) or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should inquire into and investigate the incident. The Assam government has also agreed and they will cooperate and they will also ask the Government of India for the same,” Sangma said.

Earlier on Wednesday Sangma met the family members of the victims.

“I have come here to ensure proper action will be taken. In the future, such oppression won’t happen. The border issue is our priority. I have discussed it with Assam CM. We’ll see central agencies probe the incident, Assam govt has also agreed to it,” Sangma said.

However, Sangma further said, “We are here to ensure that the action is taken, all steps are required to ensure that in future this kind of thing and the difficulties you are facing should not be there. The border issue is our top priority and we will do everything in our capacity and we are able to resolve the border issue at the earliest.”

As new video showed Satyendar Jain’s special treatment in Tihar, BJP demands his firing

Following the release of another video showing Delhi minister Satyendar Jain receiving “packaged food” inside the Tihar jail, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) repeated its call for Jain to be fired on Wednesday.

Last week, a video of Jain receiving a massage from a man inside his cell went viral on social media, leading to claims that he was receiving preferential treatment while incarcerated. Due to allegations of money laundering, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has been in judicial custody for the past five months. The AAP stood up for Jain, calling the video a “BJP stunt,” and deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said Jain was hurt and receiving medical attention in jail. Prison officials, however, claimed on Tuesday that the man who was seen in the videos massaging the Jain people was really an inmate who had been charged with raping a child rather than a physiotherapist.

The BJP on Wednesday displayed the brand-new video of Jain receiving “packaged food” at a press conference in New Delhi. The AAP did not immediately respond to the new video.

“First Jain is not removed as a minister despite being in jail, now there are people working for him and all facilities are being provided…. . We don’t know how the system is operating, but they have arranged a luxury resort-like facility inside the jail. The television is operational, he is getting packed food, someone is massaging the legs, as if they are in a holiday resort and not in a jail. We want people to see that the AAP, which is busy giving character certificates to others, is itself engaging in characterless actions,” Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi said in the press conference.

Describing it as a “shameless conduct” of the AAP, the New Delhi member of Parliament (MP) said, “A person, who has been caught and is in jail for certain acts of corruption and against whom an investigation is going on, is getting a massage on feet by an accused who is involved in a crime like rape of a minor. In spite of being involved in so many cases, this person continues to be a minister in the AAP’s Delhi government.”

“They (AAP) are involved in so many corruption cases. (Chief minister) Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t care about Delhi. For them, this place is just to earn money to fund their political ambitions,” Lekhi added.

4 persons killed in firing incident along Assam-Meghalaya border

Four persons including three people from West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya and an Assam forest guard were killed in a firing incident that took place along the Assam-Meghalaya border on Tuesday.
Confirming the report, Meghalaya DGP LR Bishnoi told ANI that, the incident took place in the Mukroh area and four persons were killed in the firing incident. Further details into the incident are awaited.

Twitter manager vomited after Musk asked him to fire employees

A Twitter manager vomited in a trash can after new boss Elon Musk directed him to fire hundreds of employees as part of the company’s decision to slash its workforce in half, according to a new report.

Since Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the social media giant, the New York Times has spoken to 36 current and former Twitter employees, revealing graphic details that create a bleak image of the company’s revamp.

The report said that some of whom told the newspaper that many staffers learned about the mass layoffs via an internal Slack channel where HR and legal teams discussed the move on November 2. The message indicated as many as 3,738 workers could be laid off following which employees immediately began saying their goodbyes and exchanging information, New York Times reported.

“One engineering manager was approached by Mr. Musk’s advisers — or ‘goons,’ as Twitter employees called them — with a list of hundreds of people he had to let go. He vomited into a trash can near his feet,” the report said.

Those that remained behind “slept in the office as they worked grueling schedules to meet Mr. Musk’s orders,” the report added.

The newspaper said that Elon Musk told employees “Those who are able to go hard core and play to win, Twitter is a good place. And those who are not, totally understand, but then Twitter is not for you.”

Since taking control, Elon Musk has implemented a number of divisive modifications, such as the $8 blue verification check mark included in its brand-new membership service, Twitter Blue. On Friday, the program was suspended.

Chinese CPEC workers to move in bullet-proof cars after firing on former PM

Following the firing on former PM of Pakistan, Imran Khan, there were growing concerns over the safety and security of Chinese nationals working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, Pakistan and China on Sunday agreed to use bullet-proof vehicles for the Chinese workers for all outdoor movements.

China and Pakistan exchanged the draft minutes of the 11th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) of the CPEC, it said, “It has been decided that bullet-proof vehicles shall be used for all outdoor movements of the Chinese employed on projects.”

Pakistan and China did not sign the 11th Joint Cooperation Committee during the two-day visit of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Beijing earlier this week, against the expectation of the public. “Due to a very short visit of only 24 hours some of the memorandum of understanding, including the minutes of the JCC, could not be signed,” the Minister said.

“About 17 meetings took place in a span of 24 hours, which left no time for some other important engagements,” he said.

According to the reports,both parties have agreed to increase the capacity of law enforcement and investigative organisations.
It had been agreed that the National Forensic Science Agency (NFSA) would be constructed on contemporary lines in order to hasten the investigations into the crimes involving Chinese people.
In order to completely upgrade the National Forensic Science Lab in Islamabad, the Pakistani side requested Chinese cooperation. According to the draught minutes, The Express Tribune stated that the Chinese side assured them of their complete support for the initiative.
In order to provide the LEA staff and private security guards with the most up-to-date training methods, the Chinese side has also agreed to set up a training facility.

The judgments may help allay the worries of the Chinese government, which had been holding off on the CPEC front until the security of its citizens was fully assured and Pakistan complied with the terms of the energy agreements.

Two people shot dead after miscreants open fire in UP’s Banda

Two people were shot dead while two other sustained injuries in Banda, Uttar Pradesh after miscreants opened fire while being intoxicated. The accused were allegedly trying to harass a woman in that area.

“The incident occurred in the Baberu Kotwali area, where some goons who drank, forcibly entered the house of a person named Hariram and tried to harass his wife. After the family members tried to stop the goons, they opened fire leaving two people dead and two injured,” said police.

The deceased have been identified as Sharda Yadav (42 years) and Chota Yadav (52 years) and the injured have been identified as Avdesh Yadav (22 years) and Karan Yadav (25 years). The police notified that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further probe in the matter is underway.

Imran Khan injured in firing incident during Haqeeqi March

Imran Khan, Ex- Prime Minister of Pakistan has been allegedly injured in a firing incident during his rally in Pakistan’s Gujranwala. He was participating in his long march on a container-truck against the Shehbaz Sharif government. He was seen with a bandaged and was rushed to a hospital in a SUV car.

The unfortunate incident happened in Wazirabad when the Haqiqi March entered. After the firing a panick situation occurred during the march. All the leaders on the container-truck panicked.

Five persons were reportedly hurt in the shooting incident, according to media reports citing sources. Ambulances are being used to transport those hurt in the shooting to the hospital.

This is not the first such incident in Pakistan, the firing brought back horrifying memories from 2007, when former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was shot dead during a rally. Many other politicians were assassinated in Pakistan, including, Farid Khan, Faridullah Khan, Liaquat Ali Khan, etc.

Amid firing, protestors headed to Mahsa Amini grave in Iran

In defiance of increased security measures put in place as part of a violent crackdown on women-led rallies, Iranian mourners flocked to Mahsa Amini’s grave on Wednesday to mark 40 days since her passing.

Iranian security forces fired guns and launched tear gas at protesters in Saqez, the home town of Mahsa Amini, following commemorations for her death on Wednesday, the Hengaw rights group said.

“Security forces have shot tear gas and opened fire on people in Zindan square, Saqez city,” Hengaw, a Norway-based group that monitors rights violations in Kurdistan, said on Twitter.

“Woman, life, freedom” and “Death to the dictator”, hundreds of men and women chanted at the Aichi cemetery in Saqez, Amini’s home town in the western province of Kurdistan, in videos shared online.

Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman of Kurdish descent who was arrested by the infamous morality police for allegedly violating the Islamic dress code for women while visiting Tehran with her younger brother, passed away on September 16, three days after her imprisonment.

The strongest wave of protests to shake the Islamic republic in nearly three years began last month after anger erupted during her funeral. The movement has been spearheaded by young ladies and schoolgirls who have engaged security personnel on the street while burning their hijabs.

Overnight, Saqez’s officials tightened security, stationing officers in the city’s main square and apparently blocking off the city’s entrances.

Despite this, mourners went to her graveside early on Wednesday to mark the completion of 40 days since her passing and the completion of the customary Iranian period of mourning.

In videos posted online by activists and human rights organisations, they can be seen travelling along a highway, across fields, and even across a river in vehicles, motorcycles, and on foot.

Hundreds of mourners had gathered at the cemetery located eight kilometres (five miles) outside Saqez, in images that the Hengaw rights group told AFP it had verified.

Two shot dead in Bihar capital

Two youths were shot dead on Wednesday morning by unknown individuals in Patna, the capital of Bihar.

The incident happened close to Loha Godam, which is located in Patna city’s Badi Pahari area.

The area comes under the Bypass police station.

The youths were on a scooter when unknown assailants started firing at them and fled.

One of the youths passed away immediately, while the other died on the way to the hospital.

Police arrived at the scene as soon as they received the information.

Along with other law enforcement officers, Patna City SP Pramod Yadav arrived.

The deceased were identified as ChotiChoti Pahari area resident Saurabh Kumar alias Golu and Gulzarbagh area resident Chandan Kumar.

Police are looking through the area’s CCTV footage to find the attackers. The investigation is in progress.
