In his letter to NCW, the APSCW Chairperson, Kenjum Pakam condemned Elvish Yadav for his remarks which not only maligned Chum Darang but also attacked women from northeast India. The APSCW chief stated that these remarks sullied the respect with which a well-known name in the film world, like Darang, is held, and women of northeast India have been marginalized by the same.

In his letter, Pakam expressed anger over the fact that Yadav’s comments not only affected Chum Darang but also brought a blot to the women of northeast India. “Elvish Yadav’s comment on social media diminished the reputation of Chum Darang in particular and women of North East in general. Such behaviour and derogatory comments create a pervasive sense of fear and intimidation amongst women of the northeast who are pursuing their dreams in the film industry of Bollywood, making them vulnerable and marginalized,” it read.

The APSCW Chairperson voiced grave concern regarding the situation and requested the NCW to take suo-motu cognizance of the incident, calling for justice for Darang and the affected community.

Chum Darang reacted to the controversy on Instagram, where she expressed her displeasure over the comments. “Disrespecting someone’s identity and name is not ‘fun’. Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter’. It’s time we draw the line between humour and hate,” she wrote.

Darang further slammed Yadav for belittling her achievements. “What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity. My hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali were also disrespected,” she added.

Meanwhile, in a post on X, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the police at Guwahati had registered an FIR against several YouTubers and social media influencers named Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Mukhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina. The FIR states that the influencers had disseminated obscenity and held a sexually explicit and vulgar discussion on a show titled India’s Got Latent.

The case is filed under multiple sections, such as the Information Technology Act, of 2000, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, of 1986. Investigation is underway.

In November of the previous year, the PFA organization lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against six individuals, including Elvish Yadav. A Gautam Buddh Nagar court (UP) granted bail to controversial YouTuber Siddharth Yadav, also known as Elvish Yadav, in a suspected drugs case, his legal representatives confirmed on Friday.

Yadav was apprehended by the Noida Police on Sunday as part of their investigation into the suspected use of snake venoms as recreational drugs at parties he organized.

“The court considered the bail application and granted bail in the case. He will be required to provide two bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each, which will be submitted in court,” stated Advocate Prashant Rathi.

However, according to advocate Deepak Bhati, who is also part of Yadav’s legal team in this matter, it might be some time before Yadav is released from Luksar Jail in Greater Noida, where he has been detained since March 17.

Elvish Yadav’s parents have vocally proclaimed their son’s innocence and have appealed to People’s For Animals (PFA) president and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi for leniency towards the YouTuber.

In a recent development, Elvish Yadav has been moved from a quarantine cell to a high-security barrack by the authorities. The Noida Police apprehended him on March 17 in connection with the snake poison case. Last year, an FIR was lodged against him in Sector 39, leading to his interrogation. Presently, Elvish is detained in judicial custody for a fortnight.

During his initial night in jail, Elvish Yadav reportedly faced challenges similar to those encountered by other inmates. Despite his celebrity status, he received treatment akin to that of ordinary prisoners, including being provided the same food and allocated three blankets in adherence to regulations. Throughout the night, Elvish remained restless and spent most of it awake.

After Elvish Yadav, Noida police makes two more arrests in snake venom case

Following the arrest of YouTuber Elvish Yadav in a case related to snake venom smuggling, Uttar Pradesh police have arrested two more suspects, identified as Ishwar and Vinay, both residents of Haryana.

The police suspect the involvement of additional individuals in the illicit trade and have intensified their investigation. Noida DCP Sagar Mishra stated, “We are scrutinizing the entire video footage and investigating the role of each person. All the persons whose names come forward will be interrogated.”

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Mohan Awasthi revealed that Ishwar, one of the accused, owned a banquet hall where he allegedly prepared snake poison. He said, “In the same case in which Elvish Yadav was arrested a few days ago, two other people have been arrested this morning. Their names are Ishwar and Vinay. Ishwar used to constantly talk to the snake charmer Rahul and had his own banquet hall where he used to bring snakes and prepare snake venom. Vinay is a special friend of Ishwar Yadav. They are being sent to judicial custody.”

Elvish Yadav, also the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody in connection with the case under the Wild Life Protection Act 1972. An FIR was registered against six people, including Yadav, for allegedly supplying snake venom suspected to be used as a recreational drug at a rave party in Noida.

The case was transferred from Noida’s Sector 49 police station to Sector 20 police station on the orders of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh. Elvish Yadav has denied his involvement in the supply of snake venom at the rave party.

Elvish Yadav admits to supplying snake venom at Noida rave party: Reports

Youtuber Elvish Yadav has reportedly admitted to supplying snakes and snake venom at rave parties organised by him, Noida police sources claimed. The YouYuber was arrested on November 17 by Noida Police in connection with a rave party where snake venon was allegedly provided as a recreational drug to the revellers.

The party was organised in Noida in November 2024 and Elvish Yadav and five others were named in an FIR lodged at Sector 49 police station of the city on November 3. The case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code, they said.

Rahul (32), Teetunath (45), Jaikaran (50), Narayan (50) and Ravinath (45), all residents of Moharband village in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur, are the other accused in the case. All of them are out of jail on bail after they were arrested in November 2024.

The case was later shifted from Sector 49 to Sector 20 police station for investigation. According to Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra, the accused has been arrested by a team of Sector 20 police station which was investigating the case.

According to Noida Police, five people were arrested from a banquet hall in Noida’s Sector 51 on 3 November 2024. A total of nine snakes, including five cobras, were also rescued from their possession while 20 ml of suspected snake venom was also seized.

Earlier, Noida police had issued a notice to Elvish Yadav regarding the case. Notably, five of the accused had already been arrested by the police. The case was subsequently transferred from Sector 49 police station to Sector 20 police station on the orders of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh.

Speaking on the matter, Uttar Pradesh Environment Minister Arun Saxena said, “Law will take its course, and no celebrity is bigger than the law.” Similarly, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated that he did not influence the case proceedings, underscoring that the police would act if Elvish Yadav were found guilty.

“When I woke up I saw the FIR in which it was written that there was Maneka Gandhi’s NGO (People for Animals) who has filed this case. That lady was saying that I roam around with snakes around my neck. All that was for the shooting of a song and nothing else. I will not spoil the name of myself and my family by indulging in all these illegal activities. If I have even one per cent involvement in this case, I will surrender myself, whether the punishment is 10 years or 100 years. Everyone knows that my level has not fallen so low that I will do these kinds of work”, said yadav in the video.

He called for a fair and thorough investigation into the case, urging Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the state police to ensure justice.

The UP Police had named Elvish and five others in connection with the alleged supply of snake venom at rave parties. While five of the accused were arrested and placed in judicial custody for 14 days, Elvish Yadav has asserted his innocence, claiming no involvement in the matter in a previous video on Instagram.

The incident unfolded when a joint raid conducted by the Uttar Pradesh forest department and Noida police uncovered a group allegedly supplying snake venom at Sector 51 Saffron Villa in Noida. Five individuals were apprehended from the banquet hall, and the police rescued nine snakes, including cobras and other species, said the Uttar Pradesh police.

The FIR, based on a complaint filed by People for Animals, alleges that Yadav provided snake venom and live snakes, facilitating illegal shoots and rave parties. The accused purportedly invited foreign guests and consumed venom and other intoxicants. Further investigations revealed the accused charged exorbitant sums for supplying the poison at such events. 20 to 25 ml of intoxicating poison was also recovered from the accused.

The case has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code under section 120-B and sections 9, 39,48A, 49, 50, 51 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. Parmod Kumar, District Forest Officer, confirmed the arrest of five individuals and the recovery of snakes, while the police mentioned the retrieval of intoxicating substances from the accused.

The situation remains under investigation, with both sides presenting contrasting narratives regarding the alleged involvement in the supply of snake venom at the rave party.

On Thursday, Gurugram Police detained a man from Gujarat in connection with an extortion call made to Big Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav.
Shakir Makrani, a native of Vadnagar, Gujarat, has been identified as the accused by ACP Crime Branch Varun Dahiya.
“Gurugram Police, with the assistance of Gujarat Police, apprehended Shakir Makrani, a resident of Vadnagar.” “He was influenced by Yadav, and in order to earn money, he planned to make an extortion call,” ACP Varun stated.
