</excerpt>

As an old timer, I am prone to compare the lot of the teachers of yore with the teachers of today. There is a sea change in the social set up and as a result, the educational structures too have undergone transformation. In those times, the focus of education was on creating young men charged with idealism. But the modern world thinks it needs young men charged with ambition. Those times believed in goodness, while the modern times believe in smartness, which means everything except honesty and integrity which slow human growth. In the past, we could draw a vertical line between right and wrong. But, in modern times, this line remains blurred and is often found shifting. In those times, people looked upon teaching as a noble profession. However, things started deteriorating when the idea of competition started gaining ground, giving rise to the tuition culture. Teachers became professionals and facilitators. Now, educational institutions are only Convocation Centres, whereas real studies are conducted by the tuition tycoons.

They built Human Beings: We build Careers

As per the educational policy of fifties and sixties, teachers had time to visit Libraries. They had holidays, summer vacation, autumn vacation and winter vacation to recoup their energies. They had time to indulge in discussions, and intellectual exchanges. There used to be an intellectual culture in colleges and universities. By 2000, the tuition culture had eaten into the intellectual culture after which its aura of respectability and idealism was gradually lost. Thereafter, the governments became wiser and started pulling the rug from under the feet of the teaching community.

From a Noble Profession to Business As Usual

Due to tuition culture, teaching lost its lofty idealism and came to be regarded as business as usual. The government found teachers more busy in unionism and clamouring for their rights, rather than focusing on their duties. So, one after the other, education policies were amended which forced the teachers to stay in the colleges and schools for a certain amount of time. Up to this, there was nothing unacademic about it. But, what has now set in is a highly deplorable situation in schools and colleges.

Teachers: As Labour Force

As we move into the 21st century, we witness a perceptible increase in the number of educational institutions. It is a matter of concern how the teachers are being treated. Teachers nowadays are looked upon as labour force. Most of the high profile schools and colleges are run by corporate bodies. Universities are owned by politicians. Education has become a commodity and the student, a consumer. The ideal of education has been entirely messed up. Teachers are either busy in clerical work, or in writing research papers to meet desired marks. Most of the times, they are forced into unproductive work as a result of which, they are losing their intellectual edge.

No doubt, we need an educational policy which focuses on skill development, so that maximum number of students are able to get jobs or start earning their livelihood. No idealism works if one is not capable of earning his bread if not butter. However, one major question which needs to be addressed is: What type of young men and women do we want? Previously, our ideal of a University graduate was a highly cultured young man, who loves values, and his ethos, and even when he gets employment, he keeps up the profile of an educated person, who knows the difference between right and wrong.

Today, we find ourselves mired in a situation where millions are facing unemployment. Physical survival is more eminent than any talk of imagination or creativity. Man needs money to survive and for this, they need jobs. And, then, for leading a high profile life, they need wealth and power. As they emerge from Universities, they are possessed by the ideas of higher packages, high life.

What is wrong in it? The way we are preparing our young men, really there seems to be nothing wrong. But can we build a great nation with minds which do not believe in the essential values of life? Will these studies not destroy the goodness and the human being which our scriptures and philosophies try to build up? Already this system has destroyed the idea of goodness, values and ethos, and we will see it reflected in our culture too which will soon take a turn for the worse. The culture which is going to overtake us is what we see in OTT 18 plus serials. Dark night, young men holding saws and killer machines and cutting dead bodies.

The Corporate Culture

The Corporate culture ensures that the young man is left with no time to be with himself. With too much emphasis on knowledge, information, books, marks, competition, examination, and targets, he is left with no time to dream. In other words, they want to kill his creativity, putting his humanity at risk.

The Corporate systems have cut down on everything that is ‘great’ in a human being. Creativity which is responsible for evolving human consciousness and giving birth to great poets and prophets is absent from money-plant culture of educational institutions based on research, and the decline of creative environment and intellectual discourse.

We expect our education system to be responsive to the needs of a developing economy. But we must also remember that all mechanical or technical advances are meant to serve mankind. In the face of the emergence of AI, the focus should be not on creation of wealth by destroying man’s perceptive faculties, but on building human beings as better specimens of humanity with greater powers of perception, kindness and co-existence.

Career is a fact of life but goodness and humanity, are a fact of divinity that characterises the very existence of man, which we can deny only at the peril of losing man to the impersonal forces of materialism and technology.

Dr. Jernail S Ananad is President of International Academy of Ethics, and author of 180 books. He won the Seneca Award, the Charter of Morava, Franz Kafka and Maxim Gorky Awards. His name adorns the Poets’ Rock in Serbia.

</excerpt>

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Lucknow, searches on Thursday (April 24) at seven premises in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Delhi, and Haryana’s Gurgaon in the FIIT-JEE case showed that around ₹206 crore were raised from students of operational batches on the false promise of offering educational services, which were never provided, ED officials confirmed here on Saturday.

Funds Diverted, Faculty Unpaid, Centres Shut Down

“The collected funds were allegedly diverted for personal and unauthorised use, while faculty salaries remained unpaid. Consequently, 32 coaching centres at Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Meerut, Noida, Prayagraj, Delhi, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore Faridabad, Gurugram, Mumbai etc. were abruptly shut down, causing widespread distress to students and parents,” a senior ED official said.

These searches were conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, senior ED officials added. Officials further added that the ED launched its investigation based on several First Information Reports (FIRs) filed across Lucknow, Noida, Delhi, Bhopal, and other places against FIIT-JEE and its top management.

Top FIIT-JEE Management Under Scanner

Searches were conducted in the homes of director DK Goel, CEO, COO, and CFO, and on the official grounds of FIIT-JEE Coaching Institute, according to the ED officials in a press note put out to the media.

The officials added that the FIRs accused the top management of FIIT-JEE of charging hefty fees from students and parents in the name of offering quality educational services but instead indulging in massive financial fraud, criminal breach of trust, and educational malpractice by not delivering the promised educational services.

Massive Fee Collections Revealed by ED

In the course of the search action, information on Proceeds of Crime (POC) came to light, such as the overall number of students from whom fee was received.

“The fees of around ₹181.89 crore were collected from 9823 students in the academic year 2025-2026. Similarly, ₹47.48 crore were collected from 3316 students for the academic year 2026-2027, ₹17.07 crore were collected from 1008 students for the academic year 2027-2028 and ₹3.76 Crore were collected from 264 students for the academic year 2028-2029. The total amount of ₹250.2 crore crom total students 14,411 was collected,” a senior ED official explained.

Seizures and Ongoing Investigation by ED

The ED officials informed that some incriminating documents and digital equipment were also seized, which point towards serious financial irregularities during the search. Additional preliminary examination of the evidence gathered during search action points towards a well-planned design to divert funds, thus defrauding students and their parents in the name of educational services.

During the search cash amounting to ₹10 Lakh and jewellery valued at ₹4.89 crore were seized, officials informed. Investigation is underway.

</excerpt>

New immigration regulations in Canada may affect thousands of Indian workers, students, and tourists because officials now possess greater authority to cancel study and work visas under specific situations. The Student Direct Stream (SDS ) visa program was canceled in late 2024 and after this, the new Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations came into effect on January 31, 2025.

CanadaVisa.com says the program accelerated visa processing for students by requiring advanced financial evidence, such as tuition fees and guaranteed investment certificates (GICs) for living costs.

Due to these changes, border officials authorized to do so can now cancel temporary resident documents, including electronic travel authorizations (eTAs) and temporary resident visas (TRVs). This challenges many Indians, as Canada is still a top destination for Indian students pursuing higher education abroad.

Indian Students and Visitors in Canada

At the moment, 4,27,000 Indians are staying in Canada as students, as per the data of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). And between January July 2024, Canada provided 3,65,750 visitor visas to Indians.

Circumstances under which Visas can be cancelled

Having criminal records, providing false information, or being deceased.

If the documents are lost, destroyed, stolen, or issued because of an administrator error.

If an officer believes that the person concerned won’t leave Canada when their authorized stay will be expiring

A temporary resident becomes a permanent resident.

According to the report, the revised regulations could lead to the cancellation of approximately 7,000 additional temporary resident visas, work permits, and study permits. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has stated that affected individuals will be notified through their IRCC account or via email.

A worker, migrant, or student who is refused admission will be detained at the port of entry and returned to their nation of origin. The person will receive a notification telling them to leave the country by a given date if their permission is revoked while they are already living, working, or studying in Canada.

</excerpt>

The debate over the closure of English medium schools has intensified, with sharp exchanges between the BJP and Congress. Education Minister Madan Dilawar has strongly criticised Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, claiming that Dotasra is suffering because the “door to his loot and corruption” has closed. Dilawar’s remarks came in response to Dotasra’s recent criticism of the government’s decision to review English medium schools.

Dotasra Raises Concerns Over Review Of Schools

Dotasra had raised concerns about the government’s decision to review the status of 59 English medium schools running in his constituency. He specifically questioned the appointment of Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa as the convenor of the committee reviewing these schools, alleging that Bairwa would likely leave the committee midway. Dotasra also pointed out that Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, while in opposition, had advocated for the establishment of English medium schools in his area, which he said was ignored.

Dilawar Responds To Dotasra’s Criticism

In his response, Dilawar dismissed Dotasra’s statements, attributing them to personal frustration. He stated that Dotasra’s current distress is due to the end of the corruption that was rampant in the Congress-led education system. Dilawar accused Dotasra of using the establishment of English medium schools as a means to “loot” public funds, stating that no actual English medium schools were established under the Congress government. Instead, existing Hindi medium schools were rebranded with English medium signage, a practice that, according to Dilawar, misled parents and compromised children’s education.

Dilawar further criticised the Congress leadership for appointing Hindi medium teachers to English medium schools, many of whom lacked proficiency in English. He argued that this resulted in a significant decline in the quality of education and led to a shortage of qualified teachers in Hindi medium schools, ultimately harming the education of thousands of children in Rajasthan.

Dilawar concluded by asserting that the actions of Congress leaders had caused damage to the education system and predicted that they would face consequences for the injustices done to the children of Rajasthan.

This initiative highlighted the community’s respect for traditions and showcased Kota’s vibrant culture.

His remarks were met with strong condemnation from Congress and other opposition parties, who demanded both an apology and Shah’s dismissal. They protested in Parliament, stalling proceedings. Reacting, Shah stated that Congress was playing with the words of the politician with malicious intent and claimed that discussions about the Constitution expose opposition to Ambedkar and reservation.

Amidst this controversy, another mighty image of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s incredible academic achievements went viral, inspiring the general masses and leaving the audiences impressed. The photograph appeared on X (earlier Twitter) by YouTuber Dhruv Rathi, captioned as: “Power of Education,” followed with the blue heart emoticon symbol, and the hashtag, “BabaSaheb.

The picture emphasizes Ambedkar’s rich educational background. He completed his primary education in Satara and furthered his secondary education at Elphinstone High School in Mumbai. Ambedkar graduated with a BA in Economics and Political Science from Bombay University. He then received a scholarship to study at Columbia University in New York, where he completed both his MA and PhD.

He then moved to London where he joined the London School of Economics (LSE) to pursue economics and also enrolled at Grey’s Inn to read law. Forced by the financial constraint to return to India in 1917, he continued his study with support from Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj of Kolhapur, who provided him with monetary assistance, a loan by a friend, and finally his personal savings. He became a barrister and also completed his MSc and DSc at LSE.

After India’s first General Election in 1952, Ambedkar was elected to the Rajya Sabha and also received an honorary doctorate from Columbia University. The next year, he received another honorary doctorate from Osmania University.

The viral image that depicts qualifications of Ambedkar has instigated many in the Internet. One commented, “These degrees reflect Dr. Ambedkar’s extreme academic achievements and contributions made in the field of Law, Economics, and the Social Sciences.” Another wrote, “Education alone is the only key opens every door of opportunity.” The third one stated: “Not even 10 % of these are achieved by 95% of current politicians.” Some even claimed Ambedkar is a sheer inspiration with intellectual contributions.

Amit Shah’s Comment On Ambedkar

During a debate on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah made a controversial remark about Ambedkar, saying, “Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata [It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar’. If they had taken God’s name so many times, they would have earned a place in heaven].”

This statement drew sharp criticism from the opposition, especially from Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi condemned Shah’s comments, calling Ambedkar “the architect of the Constitution” and a “great man who gave direction to the country.” Gandhi demanded an apology from Shah, asserting that the country would not tolerate such an insult to Ambedkar or the Constitution he framed.

Gandhi also blamed the ruling party for opposing the Constitution and Ambedkar’s ideology, saying, “They are against the Constitution. They had said earlier that we would change the Constitution. They are against Ambedkar and his ideology. Their whole work is to finish off Ambedkar’s contribution and the Constitution. The whole country knows.”

In response, PM Modi and other senior BJP leaders defended Shah, stating that his remarks had brought to the fore the “anti-Ambedkar” attitude of the opposition. Modi said, “They are clearly stung and stunned by the facts he presented, which is why they are now indulging in theatrics. Sadly, for them, people know the truth,” and added that Shah had exposed the opposition’s “dark history of insulting” Ambedkar.

Jaishankar emphasized the vast expansion of India’s educational infrastructure, noting that the country has nearly doubled its educational capacity since 2014. “In absolute numbers, this is like creating two new colleges every day,” he said, reflecting on the increased accessibility to higher education for India’s youth.

Jaishankar also outlined the rapid pace of infrastructure development across sectors:

Highways: India is constructing approximately 27-28 kilometers of highways daily, which underscores its dedication to improving road connectivity.

Railways: The country is advancing at a rate of 12-14 kilometers of new railway tracks each day, reinforcing India’s extensive rail network.

Aviation: India has added an average of 7.5 new airports each year over the last decade, totaling 75 new airports since 2014. However, Jaishankar pointed out a current challenge in the aviation sector: “We have about 1,000 new aircraft on order, but they’re not coming in as fast as we would like.”

Digital Transformation Revolutionizes Payments

Jaishankar highlighted India’s digital revolution, particularly in financial transactions, with QR code payments becoming ubiquitous, even among street vendors. “The most common example of digitization in India is in transactions,” he said, underscoring the widespread adoption of digital payments as a symbol of India’s modernization.

The remarks come amid Jaishankar’s broader engagements in Australia, as he continues to promote India’s infrastructure and economic growth on the global stage.

</excerpt>

How Writing by Hand Improves Learning and Memory?

In today’s world, digital tools have become an essential part of everyday life for students and professionals alike. Laptops, tablets and smartphones make our tasks more efficient, allowing us to access countless resources with a click. They allow us to type & work faster, organize information easily and stay connected with ease. While this digital convenience is undeniable, it has a hidden downside, they often come at the cost of reduced memory retention and focus.

Digital tools, while convenient, are impacting students by reducing their ability to deeply engage with information. Typing, by nature tends to be more mechanical, is often a passive task. When we type, especially in a classroom or meeting, we tend to transcribe information mindlessly. This passive learning approach limits comprehension and retention. Instead of digesting or summarizing ideas, we simply copy them down word-for-word, leading to shallow processing of the material.

Studies show that multitasking reduces the brain’s ability to focus and retain information. This cognitive overload, over time, weakens concentration and memory retention. As a result, many students and professionals struggle with a shortened attention span and difficulty remembering important details.

When it comes to our brain’s ability to focus and retain information, Handwriting, a simple, traditional method, proves to be a powerful tool for boosting memory, concentration and retention.

A study by Princeton University by Mueller and Oppenheimer (2014) found that students who took handwritten notes retained more information and performed better on tests than those who typed their notes.

When writing by hand, we’re more likely to summarize and rephrase information, which helps in better understanding and remembering what we’re learning. Handwriting engages multiple areas of the brain, particularly those involved in learning and memory. In contrast to typing, handwriting is a slower and more intentional activity that engages the brain in a completely different way.

Here’s how handwriting stands out as a simple yet powerful solution for Focus and Retention:

Handwriting creates a more focused environment, fostering mindfulness and presence.

Handwriting stimulates creativity and critical thinking, allowing individuals to connect ideas more freely as the process of writing slows down the thought process, allowing for deeper reflection and idea generation.

By engaging multiple cognitive processes, handwriting has been shown to significantly boost memory and concentration.

This reflective process & an invaluable tool further strengthens cognitive pathways related to focus, learning and problem-solving in a distracted world.

Improved Memory Multiple studies, including one from Princeton University, have shown that handwritten notes are more effective for memory retention.

Enhanced Focus and Reduced Distractions : Handwriting naturally eliminates digital distractions.

Active Learning and Better Understanding When we write, the brain’s motor memory is activated, helping us remember the content better. This encourages active learning, helping the brain to better understand and internalize complex ideas which is particularly helpful for students.

In a world dominated by digital technology, handwriting remains a powerful tool for enhancing focus, memory, creativity and solidify learning. While typing on digital devices may be faster, it often leads to shallow learning and fragmented attention.

Whether you’re a student trying to retain more information or a professional looking to improve focus, taking the time to write by hand can offer significant cognitive benefits. Students and individuals can incorporate handwriting into their daily routines.

For students and professionals alike, balancing digital tools with traditional methods like handwriting offers a practical solution for boosting memory and cognitive engagement, helping us achieve better results in learning and productivity.

By returning to the practice of Handwriting, we can better engage our brains, improve memory retention and foster deeper concentration.

</excerpt>

Emotional intelligence (EI) has become a vital component in education, shaping how students and educators interact and thrive in school environments. Defined as the ability to recognize, understand, manage, and utilize emotions effectively, EI contributes to students’ academic performance, social interactions, and mental health. In an age where cognitive skills alone are not enough for future success, schools are increasingly recognizing the importance of integrating emotional intelligence into their curricula.

Why Emotional Intelligence Matters in Education

Academic success traditionally focuses on knowledge retention, reasoning, and analytical skills. However, research suggests that emotional intelligence plays an equally crucial role in shaping a student’s overall performance. Students with strong emotional intelligence skills can manage stress, navigate social complexities, and make responsible decisions. This improves their focus, resilience, and motivation—factors that directly contribute to better academic outcomes.

Furthermore, emotional intelligence helps foster a positive school environment. When students are equipped with EI skills, they are more likely to empathize with peers, resolve conflicts effectively, and collaborate harmoniously. This leads to a more inclusive and supportive school community, reducing incidents of bullying and behavioral issues. In turn, a safe, emotionally aware environment promotes greater engagement and enthusiasm for learning.

Key Components of Emotional Intelligence in Schools

The core components of emotional intelligence—self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills—can be cultivated through targeted activities in the classroom. For example, regular mindfulness practices can enhance students’ self-awareness by helping them recognize their emotions. Similarly, social-emotional learning (SEL) programs can foster empathy and improve students’ ability to understand others’ perspectives, strengthening peer relationships and reducing conflicts.

In addition to structured programs, teachers play a critical role in modeling emotionally intelligent behaviors. By demonstrating patience, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills, educators create a powerful example for students to emulate. Teachers who practice EI also tend to handle classroom challenges more effectively, creating a stable learning environment that nurtures students’ emotional and academic growth.

The Benefits of Teaching Emotional Intelligence

Integrating emotional intelligence in schools benefits both students and educators. Students gain essential life skills that contribute to their success beyond the classroom. For example, emotionally intelligent students are often more adept at handling workplace stress, collaborating in diverse teams, and communicating effectively—skills that employers highly value in today’s job market.

For educators, teaching EI can lead to greater job satisfaction and lower burnout rates. Schools that prioritize emotional intelligence often report fewer disciplinary issues, leading to a more peaceful and productive educational setting.

Implementing Emotional Intelligence Programs

Many schools are beginning to incorporate SEL programs as part of their curriculum. Programs such as “Second Step” or “RULER” provide structured approaches to teaching EI, offering lessons and exercises that develop emotional awareness and management. Schools can also encourage family involvement in SEL to reinforce these skills at home, ensuring a consistent approach to emotional development.

Emotional intelligence is a fundamental skill that empowers students for academic and life success. By cultivating EI in schools, educators equip students with the tools to understand themselves, build positive relationships, and thrive in all areas of life. Integrating emotional intelligence into education is no longer an option but a necessity, as it promotes a balanced, holistic approach to learning and prepares students for a future where empathy, resilience, and self-awareness are as important as academic knowledge.

By embracing emotional intelligence, schools can create a more compassionate, productive environment that nurtures the full potential of every student.

Protocol for Standing During the National Anthem

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) states that people should stand at attention when the national anthem plays. Exceptions apply when it’s part of a newsreel or documentary, as standing could disrupt the film. The MHA emphasizes the need for proper decorum when showing respect to the national anthem.

</excerpt>

In recent years, the importance of mental health has gained significant recognition, and schools have emerged as pivotal platforms for promoting mental well-being among students. As institutions that shape young minds, schools are uniquely positioned to foster environments that support mental health through education, prevention, and early intervention.

Let’s explore the multifaceted role schools play in promoting mental health-

Creating a supportive environment:

One of the primary roles of schools in promoting mental health is to create a supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and understood. This involves establishing a culture of inclusivity and respect, where diversity is celebrated and every student feels a sense of belonging. Schools can achieve this by implementing anti-bullying policies, promoting positive behaviour, and encouraging open communication between students and staff. Teachers and school staff play a crucial role in this process. By receiving training in mental health awareness, they can identify early signs of mental health issues and provide appropriate support or referrals.

Integrating mental health education:

Integrating mental health education into the school curriculum is another essential strategy. By incorporating lessons on emotional regulation, stress management, and resilience, schools can equip students with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. Programs that focus on social-emotional learning have proven effective in enhancing students’ emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Moreover, peer-led initiatives can be particularly impactful. Programs where students are trained to support their peers create a network of understanding and empathy within the school community. These initiatives not only provide immediate support but also help in destigmatising mental health issues, encouraging students to seek help when needed.

Providing access to mental health services:

Schools also play a critical role in providing access to mental health services. By collaborating with mental health professionals, schools can offer on-site counselling and psychological services. This ensures that students have timely access to support without the barriers that might exist outside the school setting.

Engaging families and the community:

Engaging families and the broader community is vital in promoting mental health. Schools can organise workshops and informational sessions for parents, helping them understand the importance of mental health and how they can support their children. Building strong partnerships with community organisations and mental health agencies can also enhance the resources available to students and their families. Also, schools can create platforms for parents to share their experiences and strategies for supporting their children’s mental health. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility, reinforcing the support network around each student.
Schools have a profound impact on the mental health of their students. By creating supportive environments, integrating mental health education, providing access to services, and engaging families and the community, schools can play a pivotal role in promoting mental well-being. As we continue to recognise the importance of mental health, it is essential for schools to adopt comprehensive strategies that support the holistic development of every student. Through these efforts, schools can help build a resilient and mentally healthy generation.

</excerpt>

Imagine a world where you can attend a concert on the other side of the globe, practice surgery without stepping foot in a hospital, or collaborate with co-workers in a virtual office — all without leaving your living room. Sounds like science fiction, right? Not anymore! Thanks to the incredible fusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), this futuristic world is becoming our new reality.

From gaming and entertainment to education and remote work, AI is taking AR and VR to the next level. These technologies are not just about creating cool digital worlds anymore. They’re becoming smarter, more responsive, and more personalized, unlocking experiences we’ve only dreamed of. Let’s discuss today how AI-powered AR and VR are transforming industries and reshaping our lives.

AI: The Secret Sauce for AR and VR Magic

At the heart of this transformation is AI, which brings the “intelligence” to AR and VR. Think of AI as the brains behind the beauty — it enables these technologies to understand and respond to what users are doing in real-time.

In AR, AI helps recognize objects, track movement, and deliver digital overlays that seamlessly blend with the real world. Picture pointing your phone at a restaurant, and AI instantly gives you reviews, menu options, and even suggestions based on your tastes. That’s not just AR — that’s smart AR!

For VR, AI takes immersion to the next level by creating virtual environments that feel alive and reactive. Whether you’re walking through a virtual city or engaging in a virtual meeting, AI ensures that the environment adapts to your actions, making everything feel more authentic and interactive.

AI in Entertainment: Next-Level Immersion

Entertainment has always been a playground for AR and VR, and with AI in the mix, it’s more immersive than ever. In the gaming world, AI is revolutionizing how we interact with non-playable characters (NPCs). Gone are the days of repetitive, robotic NPCs. AI enables these characters to learn from your actions, making each interaction unique. The result? A gaming experience that feels fresh every time you play.

Beyond gaming, the world of virtual concerts and events is booming. With AI, these virtual spaces can now adapt to individual attendees. For example, AI can analyze your preferences and customize your experience, whether that’s changing the lighting at a virtual concert or offering you tailored merchandise. It’s like having your own personal DJ or event planner — but in the digital realm.

Education and Training: Learning in the Future

Education isn’t just about books and lectures anymore. Thanks to AI-powered AR and VR, learning has never been more interactive or personalized. Imagine studying ancient history by virtually walking through a Roman city or learning biology by interacting with a 3D model of the human body. With AI driving these experiences, learning becomes not only hands-on but tailored to your pace and needs.

In professional training, AI-powered VR is making waves. Medical students can now practice complex surgeries in a virtual operating room, with AI providing real-time feedback on their techniques. This allows learners to make mistakes without consequences and receive personalized guidance to improve. Similarly, companies are using AI in VR to train employees, offering simulations that adjust in difficulty based on the learner’s progress, making training sessions far more effective.

Remote Work and Collaboration: The Virtual Office is Here

The rise of remote work has pushed companies to rethink how teams collaborate — and AI-powered VR is leading the charge. Virtual workspaces are becoming more popular, allowing employees to gather in immersive digital environments that feel more like in-person meetings than a simple video call.

In these virtual offices, AI does much more than just create 3D environments. It can analyze meeting data, automate tasks, and even help boost productivity by offering insights based on team interactions. Imagine a virtual whiteboard that doesn’t just display your ideas but organizes them into actionable plans or a virtual meeting where AI facilitates networking by suggesting the right people to connect with. It’s a smarter, more engaging way to work remotely.

The Metaverse: A Digital World Powered by AI

When we talk about the metaverse — the massive, interconnected virtual world where people can socialize, work, play, and create — AI is its backbone. Without AI, this vast digital landscape would be static and predictable. But with AI, the metaverse becomes dynamic and responsive, adapting to its users in real-time.

AI plays a significant role in creating realistic avatars that can mimic human emotions and expressions, making social interactions in the metaverse more natural. Moreover, entire cities, ecosystems, and experiences within the metaverse are being generated and managed by AI, ensuring that the world evolves just as the real one does. From virtual businesses to entire entertainment ecosystems, AI is the silent architect of this exciting digital frontier.

Wrapping Up: The Future is Smarter and More Immersive

As AR and VR continue to evolve, AI is the key ingredient that’s making these technologies more than just a novelty. Together, they’re creating new ways to entertain, educate, work, and explore — and we’ve only just begun to see what’s possible. Whether it’s revolutionizing entertainment with personalized virtual experiences, transforming education with interactive learning, or enabling remote work in digital spaces that feel as real as the office, AI-powered AR and VR are shaping a future that’s smarter, more immersive, and limitless in potential.

</excerpt>

In today’s digitally savvy world, education is no longer confined to the classroom, new forms of devices are taking over and students are becoming dependent on them. After-school programs are recognized as an integral part of a child’s development, offering a holistic approach that complements formal learning. These programs are designed to foster personal growth, creativity, and collaboration, all while providing structure and support beyond regular school hours. Let’s explore how after-school programs promote learning beyond the classroom in multifaceted ways.

Engaging Platform to Learn a New Skill

After-school programs offer a dynamic environment for students to explore new interests and hone different skills in both sports and Performing arts. Whether it’s music, art, shooting, basketball or horse riding. These programs provide a space for children to engage in hands-on learning experiences that may not be part of the traditional school curriculum. This is particularly beneficial as it helps students discover their passions and strengths, potentially igniting lifelong interests. The flexibility to choose an area of interest ensures that learning is both engaging and enjoyable.

Productive Engagement Away from Screens

With the increasing reliance on digital devices, screen time is a major concern for parents and educators alike. After-school programs offer a constructive alternative, allowing children to be actively engaged in real-world activities. This helps reduce the hours spent in front of screens while encouraging physical activity, creativity, and collaboration. These programs promote healthier habits and allow children to interact with their environment in a more meaningful way.

Building Social Connections

One of the biggest benefits of after-school programs is the opportunity they provide for building social connections. Students get to interact with peers from different classes and age groups, helping them develop social skills and forge friendships. Teamwork, communication, and collaboration are often key components of these programs, which foster a sense of community and belonging. Such interactions build emotional intelligence and prepare students for future social and professional environments.

Helpful Program for Working Professional Parents

For working parents, after-school programs provide a sense of relief, knowing that their children are in a safe and productive environment. These programs extend the supervision and care beyond the regular school hours, ensuring that students remain engaged in activities rather than being left alone or spending excessive time in front of digital screens. Parents can focus on their work without worrying, knowing that their children are participating in structured and enriching activities.

Opportunity to Be a Part of the School Team

Many after-school programs are designed to foster teamwork through sports, debate clubs, and creative groups. By participating in these programs, students often get the chance to be a part of the school’s teams, be it in athletics, music bands, drama troupes, or other groups. These team-based activities not only teach discipline and teamwork but also boost students’ confidence by giving them a sense of accomplishment as they contribute to the success of their school.

Representation of School at Competition Level

Participation in after-school programs can also open doors for students to represent their school in local, regional, or even national competitions. This provides a unique platform for students to showcase their talents and compete at higher levels, fostering a spirit of excellence and friendly rivalry. The opportunity to represent the school in competitions builds pride, resilience, and a commitment to hard work and practice.

After-school programs go beyond academic support to offer a rich, multidimensional approach to learning and development. These programs help students build essential life skills, foster creativity, and ensure productive use of time, all while providing a structured environment for socialization and personal growth. For parents and students alike, the benefits of after-school programs are invaluable, making them an integral part of holistic education.

Didac India 2024 also underscored the growing importance of skilling in the Indian context. As the world of work and technology continues to evolve, there is a growing need for continuous adaptation and investment in education and skill development. Didac India positioned itself as a key enabler of this transformation, showcasing innovative tools and resources designed to prepare students, educators, and professionals for the challenges of the future.

The event highlighted India’s progress in skilling initiatives across multiple levels, from school and university students to working professionals. Despite the progress, the rapid pace of technological advancement means that the need for skilling will remain an ongoing challenge. Both the Indian government and education stakeholders have implemented numerous policies and initiatives to ensure that the country remains at the forefront of education and skill development. By adapting digital education infrastructure and embracing emerging technologies, India is well-positioned to realize its goal of becoming a global education and skills hub.

The success of Didac India 2024 demonstrated the country’s commitment to this vision. It served as a launchpad for new technological innovations and solutions that would shape the future of education. Through the event, educators and industry leaders gained valuable insights into the latest trends in education technology and skilling, while exhibitors had the opportunity to engage with prospective partners and stakeholders.

Messe Stuttgart India, the event organizer, has established itself as a dominant force in the Indian trade fair and exhibition industry. With a portfolio of events including MOLDEX India, FASTNEX, and LogiMAT India, Messe Stuttgart India continues to create significant opportunities for businesses across a range of sectors. Its focus on delivering world-class trade events and fostering valuable business connections remains a driving force behind its success.

Similarly, the India Didactics Association (IDA), as the country’s only national association for the education and skills fraternity, played a pivotal role in unifying the education and skills sector. </excerpt>

From writing to music, from photography to the gem and jewelry industry, the winds of change blow constantly, ushering in new technologies that redefine the way we approach our craft. American media theorist Henry Jenkins once famously remarked that old technology never truly dies; rather, it undergoes a transformation, adapting to the demands of an increasingly digital world. This “doctrine of progress” propels society forward, urging us towards technologies that promise greater speed and efficiency.

The gem and jewelry industry exemplifies this transformation. Renowned for its detailed designs and impeccable craftsmanship, this age-old industry is gradually started blending tradition with new technology. One such innovation at the forefront of this transformation is Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), revolutionizing the way jewelry is conceptualized, crafted, and experienced.

Innovation in the Gem and Jewelry sector

Traditionally illustrating a design heavily relied on hand sketches and physical prototypes. The advent of CAD software brought a paradigm shift, offering designers a virtual canvas to unleash their creativity without added financial pressure. Much like the transition from typewriters to word processors, CAD software provides designers with unprecedented flexibility and agility. In the past, designers had to start over from scratch for even minor changes. Now, they can easily adjust, refine, and improve their designs without hassle.

CAD software offers professionals a realm of boundless possibilities, where elaborate patterns and complex geometry can be brought to life in stunning detail. From simulating gemstone placements to experimenting with metallic texture, CAD empowers designers to explore new frontiers while minimizing the risk of errors. This newfound freedom not only elevates the quality of the final product but also enhances the overall efficiency of the design process.

CAM takes these digital designs created in CAD and translates them into physical objects through automated manufacturing processes. It ensures that the intricate details and precise measurements designed in CAD are reproduced in the final product. CAM involves programing automated machines or 3D printers to execute the manufacturing of the jewelry based on the specifications generated in CAD. This process involves precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of materials, guided by the digital instructions derived from CAD designs. The integration of CAD and CAM not only enhances design capabilities, but also streamlines production workflows, reducing time and costs.

Advantages of CAD/CAM in Jewelry Design

Beyond its role in design, CAD/CAM can automate many iterative tasks, streamline workflows, and reduce production time, allowing businesses to operate more competitively in a crowded marketplace. Moreover, by minimizing material wastage and optimizing manufacturing processes, CAD/CAM helps mitigate operational costs in an industry where margins can be razor thin.

The integration of CAD/CAM also fosters greater collaboration between designers and clients. Virtual prototypes can be shared and modified in real-time, ensuring that the final product aligns perfectly with client expectations. This level of interaction not only improves customer satisfaction but also builds stronger relationships between businesses and their clientele.

Another advantage is the enhanced ability to replicate designs with precision. CAD/CAM ensures that each piece is consistent in quality and design. This precision is particularly valuable for complex patterns and intricate details that are difficult to achieve by hand.

Additionally, CAD/CAM has the ability to store digital libraries of designs. This feature allows designers to easily revisit and modify previous creations, providing a valuable repository of work that can inspire new designs or meet specific client requests quickly. This digital archive helps in preserving the design heritage of a brand, ensuring that its legacy of craftsmanship is maintained and can evolve with time.As the gem and jewelry industry continues to evolve, so must all of us who are a part of this industry or desire to be part of it. To thrive in this dynamic landscape, professionals need to embrace modern technologies like CAD/CAM, equipping themselves with the tools needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world. In doing so, you can contribute to the continued growth and vitality of an industry that stands for its rich heritage.

Embracing CAD/CAM technology not only enhances our design capabilities and operational efficiency but also ensures that we remain competitive and innovative. By doing so, we not only honor the tradition of exquisite craftsmanship we also push the boundaries of what is possible, ensuring a bright and prosperous future for the gem and jewelry industry.

</excerpt>

Sustainable education would imply a balance between the cost invested into it and the return in form of the big impact that cadres of the educated would make on nation’s and global growth.

Education is an expensive ‘business’. It costs a fortune to acquire it. It costs a fortune to offer it. At the end of the education journey we worry about the ROI keeping in mind the burden of loan repayments extending over years, cutting into one’s earnings and impacting quality of life. For many the prospect of education is too daunting to even consider acquiring it. From amongst those who board the education train, many keep dropping off at regular intervals, not able to sustain the journey till the end.

The reason is not just financial, though it could be at the core of other compelling factors. Gender, orthodox belief systems and practices, cultural and linguistic features, family responsibilities and compulsions, lack of support could count among other factors. In 2021-22, the dropout rate among class 10 students was 20.6%. The data for overall dropout rates for secondary students as per the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) 2021-22 report was at 12.6%. Contributing factors include shortage of qualified teachers, lack of attendance, poor school infrastructure and an up to four times higher dropout rate if the parents are illiterate. The demands on young learners also included contributing to domestic chores and finances leading to high dropout rates in both male and female learners.

One can imagine from the above examples the quantum of the loss of talent that could under ideal circumstances have contributed to realising the objectives of education and learning. A system of education that fails to be fully inclusive, that lets the creative talent stay or fall out of its purview for different reasons, and thus severely limits the impact of learning, is clearly not sustainable.

Sustainability in education has to do with 1) ensuring education for all: quality of learning and support extended to a learner by an institution in order to serve real world problems. 2) education for sustainable development and 3) institutional sustainability and resilience One of the major hindrances for a learner across the world and more so in a country like ours has been the cost of learning. This cost includes fees charged by an institution or associated costs to complete programmes as well as opportunity cost of forgone earnings.

We have seen enough the ability of a student to continue with education opportunities due to the lack of funds. Thus it becomes the responsibility of an institution to make education accessible for all.

To address the financial challenge the support would require provisioning for financial aid through need based scholarships as well as a learning schedule that would encourage the learner to go for flexible learning hours in pursuit of the principle of continuous learning.

Various models exist in the country including government initiatives, philanthropic support, loans. In our experience, we have seen that support mechanisms exist but the lack of sufficient push and effort on part of educational institutions to avail this support for the benefit of students to ensure their sustainable learning.

In addition to financial sustainability, education is a tool for humans to improve the lives of themselves and other humans to build an integrated, happy and sustainable world. It is expected from an institute of higher education to create and train a cadre of problem solvers from diverse cultures – ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds.

At present, the effort made by institutions at a great cost is often seen as being exclusive as it leaves out from its purview a large demography of non-English speaking population. Such effort is clearly not sustainable. Prestigious schools and HEIs impart education in English which does not cater to 80% of India’s population, clearly depriving the nation of talented young learners.

Thirdly, the whole responsibility of training students for the workforce is currently with HEIs. In order for HEIs to have real impact, partnerships with industries is imperative to train students with workplace skills that are future ready.

</excerpt>

Today’s corporate industries are growing rapidly, resulting in a demand for various roles and responsibilities to explore in the vast space in industries like fintech, IT, sales, etc. In order to compete today, professionals are expected to know and accomplish more than ever before, so it helps them get a head start in their finance careers. It requires a significant amount of preparation, planning and hard work. Students pursuing a business management degree can achieve their professional objectives in fields like finance, marketing, and human resources. This degree offers many advantages that will help a person grow in their career. It not only helps in getting practical business knowledge but also helps cultivate abilities that will advance one’s professional path. Here, we explain what a business management degree entails and how it can provide a headstart in one’s professional journey.

Business Knowledge

A business management degree provides detailed insights into different industries and makes students well-equipped with topics such as market trends and industry reports. This degree helps one understand important business concepts, including finance, human resources, and marketing operations. This understanding helps students make informed decisions and solve complex business problems.

Skill Development

Pursuing a degree in business management helps you develop important skills like leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and project management. Even if one has no prior management experience, a management course can create the knowledge needed to develop the skills that managers need. Over the duration of the course, with practical and theoretical knowledge, one can be fully equipped with the skillset required for management growth, like successful negotiation and formal business planning.

Leadership skills enable a person to motivate and guide teams to ensure work is completed in a timely and effective manner. Strategic thinking helps one make long-term plans that help the business, while effective communication skills ensure that one’s messages and ideas are conveyed properly. These skills are highly valued by employers, and they can set students apart from candidates who lack formal business knowledge.

Practical Experience

Business management programs often include internships, group projects, and case studies. These internship and group project opportunities will help one become more valuable to the employers, and it will help them become an asset to the business. Internships provide direct experience by allowing the student to work in a professional business setting, helping them understand workplace dynamics and create a strong resume. Case studies and group projects let one practice problem-solving strategies and teamwork by simulating real-world business situations. This practical business exposure makes them more attractive to employers as they can demonstrate lived experience alongside their academic background.

Networking Opportunities

One of the most important parts of management is being able to build and keep a strong network of industry connections. Business management programs often provide opportunities to connect with industry professionals, alumni, and peers. This helps students develop a professional network and connect with other business leaders. Through networking events, internships, and seminars, numerous programs help students build relationships with professionals in the field, alumni, and other students. This professional network can play an important role in providing connections for internships, jobs and mentoring. Building relations with experienced business professionals can help students get insights into industry trends and career advice, giving them a competitive edge.

Placement Assistance

Placement assistance is an important aspect of a Business Management degree program. It bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application. Placement assistance is the institution’s direction and support to help students find relevant jobs when they complete their business management courses. This support prepares students to transition from the classroom to the workplace, enhancing their employability and career prospects. This also includes career counselling, where counsellors and advisors work with students to identify their career goals, explore different industries, and develop personalized job search strategies. With this customized assistance, students can better negotiate the complexities of the job search and make well-informed career decisions.

Earning a business management degree is an investment in one’s career that will lead one to greater professional heights. This degree offers students a great head start in their careers. It gives them a strong foundation in business knowledge, develops necessary skills, provides networking opportunities, and boosts their credibility. No matter what path they choose with this course, a Business Management degree equips students with the tools and opportunities to achieve their career goals.

This comes after 65,775 students confirmed their admissions in the first round.

Despite only 6,100 seats remaining out of the total 71,600 sanctioned, the university allocated more seats in anticipation that many students may not accept their offers. “In the first round, around 35,000 students did not accept their allocated seats. Considering this trend, we are allocating more seats in the second round to ensure all seats are optimally filled and classes can begin on August 29,” said DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi.

Of the 43,067 candidates who opted for upgrades, 27,554 were allocated seats with higher preferences in this round. Additionally, DU reconsidered candidates who were initially rejected due to invalid certificates or documents, re-evaluating them under the unreserved (UR) category based on merit and seat availability.

To streamline the admission process, the university enhanced its system to automatically activate the allocation of upgraded seats, enabling colleges to process these admissions directly. This change is expected to address grievances from students who previously faced challenges when missing out on upgraded seats.

Students allocated seats in this round must confirm their acceptance by 4:59 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, and pay the required fees by 4:59 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024. Those seeking further upgrades must complete the payment within the given deadline.

The third round of allocations, which will focus on performance-based programs and supernumerary quotas, including CW, ECA, Sports, and Ward categories, will be announced shortly.

</excerpt>

India and Malaysia Deepen Bilateral Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysian counterpart, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, have taken significant steps to enhance bilateral relations between India and Malaysia. During a formal event at Hyderabad House in Delhi, the leaders exchanged several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements, underscoring their commitment to expanding cooperation.

Focus on Emerging Technologies

In a joint statement following the exchange, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the untapped potential in the India-Malaysia relationship, particularly in emerging technologies. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in areas such as fintech, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and quantum computing. A key announcement was the plan to integrate India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with Malaysia’s PayNet, which could revolutionize digital payments between the two nations. “We have more potential in our relationship. We must increase our cooperation in the field of new technology areas,” Modi stated.

India’s Impact on Malaysia’s Digital Payment Market

Malaysia’s digital payment market has become a hub for fintech innovation, attracting numerous Indian startups. The favorable regulatory environment and growing demand for digital financial services in Malaysia present a promising landscape for Indian companies. Notable Indian fintech firms like Pine Labs and Razorpay have made significant inroads, particularly in the digital payments sector. Razorpay’s acquisition of Malaysian recurring payment solutions provider Curlec, now rebranded as ‘Curlec by Razorpay,’ marked a pivotal moment in its expansion. Curlec’s involvement in DuitNow, Malaysia’s real-time payment system, further demonstrates its commitment to promoting cashless transactions.

Strengthening Educational and Cultural Ties

Beyond fintech, the leaders discussed expanding educational and cultural ties between the two nations. Prime Minister Modi announced a focus on scholarships for Malaysian students and specialized training programs for government officials. Under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program, 100 seats will be allocated for Malaysians to pursue advanced courses in fields such as cybersecurity and AI. Additionally, an Ayurveda Chair will be established at Malaysia’s University Tunku Abdul Rahman, and a Thiruvalluvar Chair will be set up at another Malaysian university, further strengthening cultural and educational links.

</excerpt>

Imran Khan, the imprisoned former prime minister of Pakistan, has submitted his application to run for the position of Oxford University’s next chancellor. This comes as the university’s graduates and staff prepare to vote later this year. Khan’s candidacy is noteworthy not only due to his political background but also because of his deep connections with the university—he studied politics, philosophy, and economics at Keble College in the 1970s and played cricket for the university. Additionally, Khan served as the chancellor of the University of Bradford for eight years.

The election for the largely ceremonial role of Oxford’s chancellor is set to take place online from October 28, allowing a broader participation of eligible voters, including Oxford graduates and academic staff. The role of the chancellor, while non-executive, involves significant responsibilities such as chairing the committee that appoints the vice-chancellor, as well as being involved in fundraising, advocacy, and oversight.

Khan’s bid comes at a time when he is imprisoned on multiple charges in Pakistan, following his ousting as prime minister in 2022. The election to replace the current chancellor, Chris Patten, has attracted other high-profile potential candidates, including Elish Angiolini, the former lord advocate of Scotland, and Margaret Casely-Hayford, former chair of Shakespeare’s Globe, both of whom could become the first female chancellor in Oxford’s history. Other potential candidates include former Labour minister Peter Mandelson and former Conservative leader William Hague.

The final list of candidates will be published in early October, with the election results anticipated shortly thereafter.

According to Aviral Bhatnagar, LKG fees have surged to ₹3.7 lakh per annum from ₹2.3 lakh. He did not specify the school but suggested that this increase reflects a broader national trend.

Inflation adjusted, school fees are up 9x and college fees are up 20x in the last 30 years

Education is no more affordable

— Aviral Bhatnagar (@aviralbhat) August 14, 2024

Bhatnagar, founder of A Junior VC, pointed out that, when adjusted for inflation, school fees have increased ninefold over the past 30 years. The situation is even more severe for higher education, with fees rising 20 times in the same period. His social media post on X underscores the disparity between the inflation seen in education versus other sectors like real estate.

The investor concluded that “education is no more affordable,” sparking discussions on social media about the cost of living and inflation. Manoj Arora noted that food, health, and education account for 70% of the expenses of an average middle-class family, with these costs inflating at rates of 10-20% annually, compared to the government’s reported Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation of 3-4%.

</excerpt>

Studying abroad can provide insightful experiences. Lakhs of Indian students travel overseas each year for their higher studies. A whopping of 7.50 lakh students went to another nation in the year 2022. I have come across many queries where people want to invest in foreign studies but need budget-friendly options. Here is the list of five pocket-friendly countries opted by Indian students.

New Zealand
NZ is a long and narrow country situated in the South Pacific Ocean. It is emerging as a popular study destination among the aspirants. The universities are consistently in the top indices with lots of work benefits. Also, the students can apply for a work permit in order to apply for the permanent residency.
According to the reports of New Zealand Education, 69,135 international students entered the borders to pursue their higher education and shapen their future in the right direction.

Hungary
Hungary has a fascinating history. Also, it is a country enclosed in central Europe. It has become a popular study destination for students from all over the globe. This is because it offers quality education at affordable costs. Talking about the tuition fees at Hungary universities, it ranges between INR 4.5L to 14L per year. Students choose to study here as it is a budget-friendly country with a beautiful landscape.

Malta
An archipelago in Europe. It is one of the affordable European countries to pursue higher education. It is classified as a peaceful country. This makes it a suitable study destination for international students. There are many more reasons to choose Malta for shaping your career in the right direction. This island is student-friendly because of its popular universities and familiar education system. Also, it offers an ideal education system with four age bracket systems.
However, you just have to spend 90 days to extend or convert your study visa into the residence permit. There are two kinds of residence permit for Indian students. The first is the temporary permit and the other is permanent one. Hence, making it a student-friendly nation
Ireland: When talking about budget-friendly nations Ireland is one of the best options.
It is a country known for its rich culture and rocky landscapes. It has become a home to world class universities, international students prefer to study here as the country offers a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. Talking about the cost of living in the country, it is approximately 88,000 INR. Hence, you may consider Ireland as an option, when planning to study abroad.

Germany
Germany cannot be set aside while talking about affordable options to study abroad. It offers one of the best education systems to international students with the lowest of expenses. Moreover, in the last academic year, Germany embraced more than 34,000 Indian scholars.
While attending one of the top colleges in the world, the Indian student has a comfortable stay in Germany with an annual budget of 10,000 EUR, which allows them to maintain a good level of living. In contrast to other developed countries, Germany has a lower cost of living. However, it becomes even better with affordable tuition fees.
In addition to this, students can also select the public institutes in Germany famous for zero tuition fees. These include the University of Bonn, the University of Gottingen, and the Technical University of Berlin.

</excerpt>

All of us have been there—the burden of the next exam, the pile of tasks that never seems to end, the expectations. For many students, education is not just a process of learning but a process of searching and becoming. However, this path can be a really thin line between academic achievement and mental health.

Stress in school can be attributed to a number of causes. Family, social pressure, and the growing pressure to get into the best college also play a part in pushing students to perform well academically. Internal pressures, which stem from a student’s drive to succeed and perfectionism, only add to the problem. Fortunately, this is not entirely true, and students are not completely helpless in this case. Here are some key strategies:
Prioritisation and Organisation: Staying busy and never having a chance to take a break because of the never-ending list of things to do could be more productive. It is suggested that developing the study schedule, identifying priorities, and setting realistic goals can help decrease the level of anxiety.

Time Management: Time management is one of the most important things that one must learn. Understanding the most productive hours in a day and setting time for study can enable students to do more within less time, hence lessening the pressure of the ticking clock.
Building a Support System: It is always helpful to talk to someone close to you or a school counsellor so that you can release tension and gain a different perspective on the problem.
Healthy Habits: The health of the body should be preserved at all times. Proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep can greatly improve the quality of life and the functioning of the brain.
Mindfulness Techniques: Meditation and deep breathing exercises assist students in being conscious of their feelings and finding constructive ways of controlling stress and anxiety.
Positive Self-Talk: One can change negative thoughts to positive ones to increase self-confidence and self-acceptance. Perceiving threats as opportunities to develop resilience is more helpful than perceiving threats as threats.

A Journey of Learning, Not Scoring!
Parents and educators play significant roles in the moulding of children and ensuring that they embrace a positive attitude towards emotions as well as academic achievements. Education is a wonderful adventure, and it should not be reduced to an unrelenting quest for scores. The pressure that comes with academic achievement can be well handled. A student’s welfare is of utmost importance because it is the cornerstone to success in both academic and personal life.

</excerpt>

Women play crucial roles across industries, driving innovation, leadership, diversity, and economic growth, while challenging traditional gender norms. The education industry is also witnessing the significant impact of women entrepreneurs in transforming early childhood education. As a woman leading in the education space for the past three decades, I have observed firsthand the profound influence women have in shaping childhood development and reshaping the educational landscape.

These visionary leaders are harnessing cutting-edge technology to foster inclusive and holistic learning environments, women entrepreneurs are at the forefront of a revolution that promises to redefine how we nurture and educate our youngest learners. Women are more familiar with the foundational and essential methods of teaching. Hence, they possess knowledge of fundamental and essential teaching methods. The transformation leads to profound shift towards personalized learning and 360 – degree holistic learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of young children.The transition women entrepreneurs build in early childhood education:

The Shift Towards Innovation
Over the past years, pre-school education has been characterized by standardized curriculum and traditional teaching methods. However, in recent years, pioneering women are leading the world of education by introducing innovative approaches that focuses on creativity, play – based learning, emotional intelligence, cognitive thinking and interactive learning including immersive and engaging environments.
Personalized Learning: One of the core tenets of this transformation is the emphasis on personalized learning journeys. Women-led startups are leveraging technology to create adaptive learning platforms that cater to individual learning styles and developmental stages. These platforms use AI algorithms to tailor educational content, ensuring that each child receives a customized learning experience. The transformation in the education system is redefining the meaning of ‘Education’ by involving modern techniques and making education more accessible through advanced technology and digitization.
Integration of Technology: Technology plays a pivotal role in these innovative teaching methods. Educational apps, interactive games, and virtual reality experiences are being utilized to engage children in immersive learning environments. By incorporating digital tools thoughtfully, entrepreneurs are enhancing educational outcomes and preparing children for a tech-driven future.

Tools for Empowerment Educational Tools and Toys
Beyond digital platforms, women entrepreneurs are also innovating in physical learning tools and toys. From STEM-focused building kits to creative arts, these products are designed to stimulate curiosity, promote critical thinking, and foster empathy among young learners. By leveraging these, entrepreneurs can create nurturing environment that support holistic growth. Parental Engagement: Recognizing the vital role of parents in early childhood development, entrepreneurs are creating software and tools that facilitate meaningful engagement between parents and children. Mobile apps provide real-time progress updates, suggested activities for home learning, and resources for parental education, thereby forging stronger partnerships between educators and families.

Impact on Early Childhood Education
A unique futuristic gamified curriculum and tech enabled curriculum plays important role in providing the children pre-school education. The impact of these innovative approaches extends beyond the classroom. By nurturing creativity, resilience, and social-emotional skills from a young age, women entrepreneurs are laying the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Moreover, these initiatives contribute to closing educational gaps and promoting equity in access to quality early childhood education.

Future of Innovative Teaching Methods and Tools
As we are heading towards the new era of education, the role of women entrepreneurs in early childhood education will remain significant. Their enthusiasm and passion for empowering young minds, is integrated with a commitment to better learner management system and promises to shape a generation of lifelong learners who are equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. The impact of women entrepreneurs in early childhood education is beyond doubt.
Phase II, where candidates must fill in their preferences for programme + college combinations, was originally scheduled to conclude on Wednesday.

“Candidates who have already completed Phase I must log in to their dashboard to finalize their preferences for programme and college combinations. The preferences saved by candidates will determine their allocation and admission. It is strongly recommended that candidates select the maximum number of preferences for which they are willing to accept admission,” the university said in a notification.

Additionally, DU has announced that trials for performance-based programmes, extracurricular activities (ECA), and sports supernumerary quotas will likely begin on Monday, August 12, 2024.

These programmes include a B.A. (H) in Music, Bachelor of Fine Arts, B.Sc, Physical Education, Health education, and Sports.

“Allocations for these quotas will commence in the third round. Candidates are advised to check the admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) and respective college or department websites regularly for detailed schedules,” the university said.

The admissions process for the 2024-25 academic session is currently underway.

Delhi University is offering admission to over 71,000 seats across more than 65 colleges through the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG).

Delhi University initiated Phase 2 of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate admissions last Friday, following the release of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) – UG results by the National Testing Agency.

The university has also published the allocation-cum-admission schedule for the 2024-25 academic session.

Applicants can still register for DU undergraduate admissions until August 7 at 4.59 pm. During Phase 2, candidates are required to match the subjects they studied in Class 12 with those they appeared for in CUET UG 2024. Only CUET papers corresponding to subjects passed in board exams will be considered for admission. Upon the completion of Phases 1 and 2 of the CSAS, a simulated rank list will be published on August 11.

Candidates will have the opportunity to revise their preferences from 5 pm on August 11 until 11.59 pm on August 12.

The first merit list for DU UG admissions is set to be released on August 16 at 5 pm. Candidates can accept their seats from 5 pm on August 16 to 4.59 pm on August 18. Subsequently, colleges will verify and approve the online applications of the candidates.

The academic session was initially scheduled to commence on August 1 but was delayed due to the late announcement of CUET results by the NTA amid allegations of discrepancies in NEET and UGC-NET exams.

This year, DU has introduced a single girl child quota under its supernumerary category, allowing a single girl child to be admitted based on merit across various programs.

</excerpt>

In today’s digital era, management students must possess key digital skills to thrive. Essential skills include proficiency in enterprise resource planning systems (ERP), understanding cybersecurity, data analytics, and software management. These competencies are crucial for navigating and leading in a technology-driven business landscape.

Develop digital literacy: Management students should put considerable effort into keeping themselves updated on the latest offerings in digital tools, software systems, and platforms. Newer systems and software are entering the market to make the life of a manager more productive. If management students fail to keep themselves apprised of the latest happening in the technological world they stand to lose in the race. They should have an understanding of technologies like Hybrid and multi-cloud management, process automation technologies like robotic process automation, low-code development platforms, distributive infrastructure etc.

Data analysis and interpretation: The phrase “data is the new oil” coined by Clive Humby, a British mathematician and data science entrepreneur, is very relevant in the current times. The students of management who don’t master the intricacies of learning to work with data, statistical tools, and data visualizations will find the going tough while managing businesses. We find that companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle or Facebook have hit the jackpot in terms of business excellence and profits with their mastery over managing the data.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML): We are living in a time when AI/ML is being introduced in a lot of business functions. OpenAI the developer of the leading AI platform ChatGPT was founded in December 2015 and by January 2023 the company managed to be valued at an impressive $29 billion. Such exponential growth in valuation symbolizes the importance of AI/ML in the business domain and a management student cannot ignore acquiring the requisite skills to master the AL/ML software or technologies.

Cybersecurity: As mentioned earlier the incident of CrowdStrike led global outage of information systems is a glaring reality of how vulnerable businesses are to cybersecurity-related risks. A future manager should have sufficient knowledge about the potential cybersecurity threats and their mitigation. In today’s global context, the majority of nations are intensifying their information technology and data protection regulations. Therefore, it is imperative for management students to possess a proficient comprehension of these laws and their application.

To sum up, in the current digital world, to take leadership roles management students should strengthen their knowledge in the important fields related to technology. Some of them are discussed in this article but there exist many more technologies or systems in which management students should focus on acquiring the required skills. Without the right management skills, students will find it extremely difficult to stay on top of the management practice.

</excerpt>

In today’s highly competitive world, securing prestigious placements for students is a key objective for educational institutions, as it significantly enhances their reputation and provides students with a strong start in their careers. Achieving this goal requires a multifaceted approach that not only involves academic excellence but also equips students with the necessary skills, experiences, and support they need to navigate the complexity of the competitive job market. In recent years, the layoff ratio in Indian companies has surged to 22%, creating significant challenges for fresh graduates entering into the professional path.

Here are some of the strategies that institutions can implement to ensure their students secure prestigious placements.

Provide Industry-related Curriculum:
Having a strong academic foundation is the base of securing prestigious placements. Institutions should continually update their curriculum to align with industry emerging trends. This involves integrating practical skills along with theoretical knowledge, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the demands of today’s job market. Offering students real-world exposure through guest lectures, workshops, and seminars by professionals can also help to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Provide Essential Career Services:
Career services play a crucial role in preparing students for the job market. This includes resume-building workshops, mock interviews, and career counseling sessions. Giving personalized guidance to students can help them to know their strengths, weaknesses, and career interests, through which they can make better decisions. Career services can also facilitate internships, providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to professional environments. Such opportunities not only enhance students’ resumes but also allow them to build networks and demonstrate their skills to potential employers.

Focus on Building Connections:
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with industry experts is important for securing better placements. Institutions can achieve this by organizing foreign trips, job fairs, industry meet-and-greet events, and alumni networking sessions. These platforms allow students to interact directly with potential employers, showcase their skills, and learn about various career paths. Alumni networks can be a valuable resource as successful alumni can serve as mentors, offering guidance and facilitating introductions to hiring managers.

Give Emphasis on Soft Skills:
We know that technical skills are essential in today’s world but at the same time soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are equally important for securing top-tier placements. Workshops on leadership, time management, and public speaking can further enhance students’ professional world. Encouraging participation in extracurricular activities, clubs, and student organizations provides additional opportunities for students to demonstrate initiative and leadership.

Utilizing Digital Platforms:
In this digital era, having an online presence is effective for both students and institutions. Students should be encouraged to maintain professional LinkedIn, Indeed profiles, portfolios, and personal websites to enhance their visibility to recruiters. Institutions can leverage technology by offering virtual career fairs, webinars, and online workshops by providing greater accessibility for students and employers. Online platforms can also showcase student projects, research, and achievements which can attract employers.

</excerpt>

The Union Budget emphasizes skill development for future generations with dedicated allocations to empower the youth. Academicians and education experts assert that complementing academic knowledge with practical and industrial skills is essential for preparing students for Industry 5.0. K12 institutions lay the foundation with soft skills, personality development, and an introduction to the world they are about to enter. However, universities must impart theoretical knowledge alongside practical skill development to create an industry-ready workforce.

Students often return from internships with limited exposure, lacking hands-on knowledge and experiential learning. This calls for a paradigm shift within the university ecosystem from traditional and applied learning to action learning by integrating industries within universities. Establishing in-house market-linked product development and production units on university campuses can ignite passion and dedication, fostering a practical learning environment.

Students need to learn technical domain skills, professional skills, life skills, and entrepreneurship skills. This multi-pronged approach enables students to understand the diverse spectrums they will encounter in the workforce. Early exposure helps them perform better compared to those without such experience. Including a socialist approach in education and teaching students the importance of positively impacting society further enables them to thrive in their chosen fields with a humanitarian approach.

We provide skill-integrated higher education through experiential learning. With industry-sponsored labs and manufacturing units on campus, students gain hands-on experience of how industries operate. Working alongside experts, they learn problem-solving early on and can confidently lead when given opportunities. These manufacturing units serve as training grounds, while live labs offer essential hands-on training.

Such students do not just become job seekers upon graduation; they step into the world with an entrepreneurial mindset. This is achievable when students pursue courses with a vision to create enterprises. For example, agriculture has long been a mode of self-employment for farmers. Students can learn about viable technologies, automation, playhouses, drone spraying, tissue culture, and precision agriculture. Empowered with this knowledge, new-age agriculture experts can ensure better farming results and turn them into enterprises benefiting more farmers.

As universities make education more practical-oriented, they foster both employment and entrepreneurship. This is achieved by developing on-campus manufacturing units and labs sponsored by leading industry firms such as Yamaha, Dassault Systems, and Schneider Electric. A parallel model encompassing product design, development, patenting, publication, production, and commercialization must coexist with theory. Engineers should have hands-on experience creating e-rickshaws or designing cars, agriculture students should understand how to use technology to maximize yield, and paramedics should handle various situations before completing their courses. This approach ensures universities bridge the gap between practical and theoretical knowledge, a gap that is gradually narrowing due to the concerted efforts of both the government and universities.
