Actor Dulquer Salmaan unveiled the first-look poster of his upcoming multilingual film Kaantha to mark his 13th anniversary in the film industry. The shooting for the Selvamani Selvaraj directorial, which also stars Rana Daggubati, began last year after a puja ceremony at Rama Naidu Studios in Hyderabad.

Dulquer took to his Instagram handle to surprise his fans with the first-look poster for the movie. In the monochrome image, the actor is seen wearing a black blazer paired with a white shirt and tie. He is also holding a stick in his hands while posing for the camera.

The first look was shared on the occasion of the Sita Ramam actor’s 13th anniversary in the film industry. Sharing the poster, Dulquer wrote, “I got to play a timeless character in a timeless story. I couldn’t ask for a bigger gift to celebrate my 13 years in the industry. Grateful to the entire team of #Kaantha and to the wonderful audiences who have given me all the love and encouragement any actor would dream of!”

‘Kaantha’ is set against the evocative backdrop of 1950s Madras. The film is expected to be a cinematic journey that delves into the complexities of human relationships and societal change during this dynamic period in history.

In a press note shared by the film’s team, Rana Daggubati expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “I am excited to embark on this journey with Spirit Media and get started with Kaantha. This is a beautifully layered story that captures the depths of human emotions and gives an actor a lot of scope to perform. I am thrilled to get started and bring this film to life.”

Dulquer Salmaan, founder of Wayfarer Films and lead actor in the film, also shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I am excited to embark on this journey with Spirit Media and get started with Kaantha. Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert Controversy in Hyderabad

Before the concert, the Telangana government issued a notice to Diljit Dosanjh, asking him to refrain from singing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence. In response, Diljit modified the lyrics of his popular tracks, Lemonade and 5 Taara, replacing the words ‘daaru’ with ‘Coke’ and ‘theke’ with ‘hotel.’

Diljit expressed his frustration with the situation, saying, “If an artist comes from outside the country, they can sing or do whatever they want, there’s no tension. But when your artist is coming home to perform, you have a problem, you create trouble. But I’ll tell you something. God is with me, I won’t let this go,” as reported by PTI.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasam Lo Oka Tara is directed by Pavan Sadineni and is expected to be a mix of drama and romance. The film is co-produced by Light Box, Swapna Cinemas, Vyjayanthi Movies, and Geetha Arts, with Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam backing the project. It will be released in 2025 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Dulquer Salmaan finally broke his silence over the fiasco caused by Rana Daggubati’s indirect statement about Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor. The actor told Zoom Entertainment, “It is his statement, so I don’t want to dive into it. I cherish every one. I feel that I have a wonderful group of friends, including co-actors and industry peers. I’m easygoing; I don’t usually complain, and I’m fine. I believe whatever he chose to say, maybe he wasn’t considering it fully. That’s why he apologized. He’s a close friend, and I suppose he was concerned that it impacted all of us, so he clarified.”

For the unversed, Rana Daggubati made the statement at a promotional event for Guns & Gulaabs. He stated, “He was doing a Hindi movie, and the producers are my friends. The shoot was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer. At an occasion for Dulquer Salmaan’s film King Of Kotha, the actor complained about how a “big Hindi cinema heroine” wasted Dulquer’s time on set by participating in a phone call with her London-based partner.

Eagle eyed fans of Sonam immediately assumed Rana was referring to Sonam Kapoor, given that Sonam and Dulquer worked together on The Zoya Factor and Sonam’s husband Anand Ahuja is living in London.

Following this, Rana Daggubati clarified on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. For unversed, Daggubati in his original comment was heard praising Dulquer Salmaan for his work ethic. In his speech Rana heard saying, “Dulquer was my junior at acting school. We became friends there. He is a very polite person.

“He’s doing a Hindi movie and the producers are my friends. The shoot was happening near my house. I went there to meet Dulquer. While he was standing in the corner with the spot boy, a big Hindi heroine who was doing that movie was engrossed in a phone conversation about shopping in London with her husband.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday unveiled the official trailer of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming action thriller film ‘King of Kotha.’

Alongside SRK the trailer was also launched by south cinema legends Mohanlal, Suriya, and Nagarjuna.

Touted to be a gangster and a high-octane action drama, the film features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead portraying a formidable contender in the high-stakes pursuit of supremacy.

The film is directed by Abhilash Joshiy and is slated for an Onam release this year on August 24, 2023.

The Pan India film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Meanwhile, Dulquer will also be making his digital debut with the upcoming series ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ which also stars RajKummar Rao and Gulshan Devaiah in the lead roles.

Helmed by Raj and DK the series will stream exclusively on the OTT platform Netflix from August 18.

The ‘King of Kotha’ actor Dulquer Salmaan left his fans and well-wishers concerned after he shared a cryptic video post on Sunday night. Now, the actor has deleted the cryptic post from his official Instagram handle, but his fans are sharing its screenshots on Twitter.

Alongside the cryptic video, the actor had also shared a note which stated, “I haven’t slept in a while. I experienced something for the first time and things haven’t been the same. It’s reached a point where I just can’t get it out of my mind. I want to say more but I’m not sure I’m allowed.”

Sunny Deol starrer movie ‘Chup’ trailer out now

Makers of the upcoming psycho-thriller film ‘Chup’ stars Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan unveiled the much-awaited trailer on Monday.

“Are y’all ready for this? Here’s the Trailer of CHUP! For your review,” Dulquer Salmaan shared the trailer on Instagram.

The movie ‘Chup’ is a romantic psychopath thriller and is said to be an homage to master filmmaker Guru Dutt. The movie will also star Shreya Dhanwanthary.

“It is a very thrilling story. It was a very interesting shoot for me personally. Balki’s vision for this story was so crystal clear that the film seemed to have its own pace during shooting,” Sunny talked about the film.

On the other hand, Dulquer said, “I have done different films in my career, however, this one really hits it out of the park in terms of the character and its story. It feels like you’re looking into someone’s inner workings and the character I play is especially unique so it was an altogether new experience for me.”

Meanwhile, Director R Balki said, “I had this idea for the story a long time ago and I don’t know why I took so long to pen it down and get it to the screen. It’s a proper thriller that makes you witness the psyche of an artist and the makings of a murderer. It’s a project I hold dear to my heart and I’m very proud of getting to share it with the world.”

Moreover, the screenplay and dialogues of the movie are co-written by Balki, Raja Sen, and Rishi Virmani and are co-produced by Pranab Kapadia and Anirudh Sharma. The music of the movie is composed by Amit Trivedi and Vishal Sinha.

However, the movie is all set to release on 23 September 2022.

Former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu praised the movie ‘Sita Raman’ and called it a must-watch movie for everyone.

“Watched the movie “Sitaram”. With the coordination of the actors and the technical departments, a beautiful scene has unfolded. Unlike a simple love story, with a heroic soldier background added to it, this film unleashes a range of emotions and is a must-watch for everyone,” Naidu tweeted.

Naidu further said, “Seetharam” gave me the feeling of watching a good movie after a long time. Congratulations to the film team including Director Mr. Hanu Raghavapudi, Producer Mr. Ashwinidat, and Swapna Movie Makers for discovering the beauty of nature that is soothing to the eyes without the sounds of war.”

The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mrunal Thakur and is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The movie was released on 5 August 2022.
