Mark Zuckerberg Says Goodbye to his Dog ‘Beast’

June 30, 2025, 3:00 pm

Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg used Facebook on Monday to announce the tragic death of his dog Beast. Zuckerberg posted, along with a picture of Beast, “Enjoy heaven, little guy.” The post went viral immediately, garnering 597,000 reactions and more than 100,000 comments in just seven hours, as people globally mourned his loss and sent him condolences. Zuckerberg refused to reveal how Beast died.

Beast, a white Puli, a Hungarian Sheepdog breed was one of Zuckerberg’s best-loved dogs. The dog even had his own page on Facebook, designated as a ‘public figure’, with 2.3 million followers who visited his page on a regular basis and liked and commented on his status updates.

Humorous status updates were posted by Zuckerberg on Beast’s page from time to time, such as witty one-liners like, “I just took a dump and had Mark Zuckerberg pick it up. It was marvelous,” or “My new bone is nearly as large as I am.”

The post also included several photos of Beast with his signature dreadlocked fur, cuddling with Priscilla Chan or Zuckerberg’s kids, and even getting bathed. His bio on the page was, “I am a Puli, a breed of Hungarian Sheepdog. I reside in Palo Alto with Mark and Cilla.”

Photos on Beast’s account usually displayed tender moments of Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan snuggling their pet. The couple, who live in Palo Alto, California, have three daughters named Maxima, August, and Aurelia.

In addition to being a devoted pet parent, Zuckerberg is also the co-founder of Facebook and CEO of its parent company, Meta. As chairman, CEO, and majority shareholder, he has also employed his fortune in large-scale philanthropy work, such as starting the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative with Priscilla to fund various social causes.

South Korea Bans Dog Meat, Puts Farmers and 500K Dogs in Limbo

June 26, 2025, 12:46 pm

Reverend Joo Yeong-bong, 60, has kept dogs for years, but his business was in crisis after South Korea legalized a ban on dog meat in 2024.

“Since last summer we’ve been trying to sell our dogs, but the traders just keep hesitating,” he said to the BBC. “Not a single one has shown up.

The legislation provides farmers of dog meat until February 2027 to close down. But for many, such as Joo, they claim to already be in a stalemate unable to sell their dogs or switch jobs.

“People are suffering,” Joo continued. “We’re drowning in debt, can’t pay it off, and some can’t even. find new work. It’s a hopeless situation.”

Confronting the Deadline with No Help

Another farmer, Chan-woo, aged 33, says he is facing an impossible job, finding new homes for 600 dogs within 18 months, or going to prison for up to two years.

“Realistically, even just on my farm, I can’t accommodate the number of dogs that I have in that time,” he explained. “At this stage I’ve put all of my assets [into the farm], and yet they are not even removing the dogs.”

By “they,” he means not just meat traders but also the authorities and animal protection groups that campaigned for the ban.

“They [the authorities] enacted the law without any proper plan, and now they’re saying they cannot even accept the dogs.”

Activists Acknowledge Gaps in Planning

Lee Sangkyung of the Humane World for Animals Korea (Hwak) concurs that there’s a big gap in post-ban transition.

Even though the ban on dog meat has been approved, the government and civic groups are still trying to figure out how to rescue the rest of the dogs,” he explained.
“One part that is still missing is the talk about the dogs that have been left behind.

The government asserts local shelters will accept surrendered animals, but the majority of dogs raised for meat large ones such as the Tosa-Inu are frequently defined as “dangerous” under South Korean law and aren’t attractive to the normal pet adopters.

“There’s a social stigma attached to dogs coming from meat farms,” Lee said, citing disease risks, trauma, and size concerns.

Shelters Overwhelmed, Euthanasia a Looming Threat

With few adopters and limited shelter room, the threat of mass euthanasia hangs over it.

“If remaining dogs become ‘lost and abandoned animals’ then it’s heartbreaking but they will be euthanised,” warned Korean Animal Welfare Association leader Cho Hee-kyung.

The government denies euthanasia is included in the plan, and has provided economic incentives — as much as 600,000 won (approximately $450) per dog to promote early shutdown. Shelter space is also being increased, but organizations such as Hwak contend current rescue plans are unclear and inadequately financed.

While some dogs have been exported for adoption, these efforts are limited and do not touch on the broader issue.

A Generation in Crisis

Ex-dog farm owner Yang Jong-tae, 74, closed his farm in 2023 and saw for himself the kindness of rescue workers.

“When I saw how they treated the animals, like they were treating people, so lovingly, so carefully, it really touched me,” he said. “We don’t treat them that way. For us, breeding dogs was just a means to earn a living.

Nevertheless, Yang challenges the reasoning behind the prohibition, “If dog meat is prohibited because dogs are animals, then why is it permissible to consume other animals such as cows, pigs or chicken?”

Young farmers such as Chan-woo are particularly perplexed about the future.

“All we’re hoping now is that the grace period can be extended so that the process can occur more gradually.”

“Currently, individuals continue to cling, hoping something will shift. But by 2027, I honestly believe something awful will occur.”

“There are so many individuals whose lives have utterly disintegrated.”

Dog Rescued from Tel Aviv Building After Iran Missile Strike | VIDEO

June 14, 2025, 2:52 pm

Following Iran’s missile attack on Israel, an emotional scene from Tel Aviv has gone viral—a video of a scared dog being pulled from the wreckage of a destroyed building has taken social media by storm.

The viral video shared online shows a man carefully bringing the big, puffy dog to safety through the rubble and destroyed buildings. Others stand by or help around them, highlighting the frightened and tense environment.

Trapped Dog Recused Safely

Israel’s rescue crew rescued a scared dog from a destroyed Tel Aviv building. Relieved she’s safe now,” a user commented, while posting the video. Another one commented, “Israel’s rescue troops rescued a dog from a destroyed building in Tel Aviv. She was cowering, a poor creature. I’m relieved she’s safe now. Dogs are experiencing so much trauma in Israel due to the explosions and sirens. My heart out to these poor animals.

The video surfaced after Iran’s reprisal against Israeli attacks on its military and nuclear facilities, with missiles hitting areas of Tel Aviv and the surrounding region. While explosions rocked the city, the majority of residents stormed communal or in-residence bomb shelters.

Rescue missions shortly commenced, with teams sent out to look for individuals and animals stuck beneath rubble. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tweeted on X, previously Twitter, “We would rather not be tweeting the same thing many times in a day, but millions of Israelis keep running to shelter as Iran keeps shooting more ballistic missiles at Israel.”

It was the same in Gaza, according to Magen David Adom (MDA), the National Emergency Response Agency of Israel. “Some of the wounded were buried under debris; others were injured and walking,” officials added. “This was a complicated and challenging scene, and we are still searching to make sure no one is trapped.

Iran Expands Dog Walking Ban to 18 Cities Amid Rising Youth Defiance

June 8, 2025, 9:59 pm

In another bid to limit public activity, authorities of Iran have extended a dog-walking prohibition to at least 18 cities nationwide. This is a duplication of a 2019 decree first enforced in Tehran, and now also comprises a prohibition on taking dogs for rides in cars. The authorities say the action is taken for reasons of public health, order, and security.

Cultural Rejection and Youth Resistance in Iran

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran’s cleric-run establishment has considered dog ownership to be un-Islamic, deeming dogs “unclean” and linking pet ownership to Western cultural contamination. Yet, despite political and religious resistance, increasing numbers of Iranians especially young people are opting for dog ownership as a quiet protest against the regime’s stifling norms.

Key cities like Isfahan, Kerman, and Ilam have imposed the bans over the past few days. Ilam’s official threatened with “legal action” against anyone flouting the law. In Hamedan, prosecutor Abbas Najafi deemed dog walking to be a “threat to public health, peace and comfort,” again promoting the government’s position through official media.

Inconsistent Enforcement and Public Defiance in Iran

While no country-level law prohibitatively prohibits dog ownership, regional prosecutors commonly apply curbs enforced by the police. In reality, application has been ad hoc, and most pet owners still walk their animals covertly, sometimes at night or in seclusion. Some have even been arrested and had their pets taken away.

Religious Justification and Legislative Pushback

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei once criticized owning pets for anything other than professional reasons. In 2021, 75 legislators denounced the ownership of dogs as an insult to Iran’s Islamic heritage. Although a 2014 bid to criminalize walking dogs was unsuccessful, pet-related advertising was banned by the Ministry of Culture in 2010.

Critics say Iran’s regime is misplaced in targeting dog owners at a moment of increasing violent crime. For millions of citizens, particularly young people, walking a dog such as going to underground raves or defying the hijab regulations continues to be an act of potent refusal in a more and more stifled society.

Tied with a Heart-Melting Note, Atlanta Doggie Finds a ‘Forever Home’

May 11, 2025, 5:18 pm

A Pitbull-Boxer mix named Andre, who was five years old, was recently found in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park with a note on his collar that moved everyone who read it. The note said: “My dad is homeless and has no one to take me. I am a really good dog. My dad’s heart is broken, and no shelter will take me. Please treat Andre with love and kindness.”

Andre’s previous owner, who was homeless, could not keep him due to his circumstances and had no other option but to abandon him in a public area, hopefully expecting someone with a heart to adopt him. According to People, this is an emotional desperate act that was intended to provide Andre with a better chance at ending up in a loving home.

Rescue Efforts Begin

Soon after the dog was discovered in late January just ahead of snowstorms, a couple, who heard his tale on Facebook, took Andre in temporarily. Although they were unable to take him in as their own permanently, they made him more well-known by spreading his picture and the handwritten card, hoping someone who could take him in might see it.

Among them was Tara Borelli, a nonprofit attorney in Atlanta. “I read this cry for help. Andre had been discovered bound in a yard close to Piedmont Park with a note taped to his collar. I believe his owner ditched him there to be seen, assuming that someone would notice him and bring him to safety,” Borelli said in People.

Borelli intervened to provide a temporary home for Andre, where he stayed for a couple of months. Although she instantly bonded with the dog, she was forced to make a painful decision because of her own pet’s health. “Andre was amazing,” she remembered. She put him in the hands of a shelter in April to better his chances of getting a forever home.

Thanks to the continued help of Fulton County Animal Services and area pet advocates, Andre’s tale kept going around. By early May, he got a foster family in Atlanta, where he will remain temporarily for one month.

If the placement goes well, Andre will be adopted forever—bringing a heartwarming twist to a journey that started with abandonment and is now turning into one of compassion, second chances, and hope.

US Senator Brings Bulldog To Senate Hearing : Gives Her A Mic To ‘Testify’ | WATCH

April 16, 2025, 12:10 pm

Thursday’s Senate Energy Committee hearing took an unexpected turn when West Virginia Senator Jim Justice brought a very special guest—his beloved English bulldog, Babydog. Not only was the pup present, but she had her own microphone, ready to “testify,” prompting laughter and surprise in the chamber.

Committee Chairman Senator Mike Lee welcomed the gesture with good humor, saying,“Thank you, Senator Justice. Babydog’s testimony will be admitted into the record without objection.”

The remark sparked chuckles throughout the room, as Babydog panted enthusiastically into her mic—seemingly embracing the limelight.

“She Humanises Us”: Justice Shares Babydog’s Impact

Senator Justice took a moment to reflect on how Babydog has helped bring heart to political proceedings.
“This little has done something that I think is really important to all of us. All of us on this committee … all of us across this city. She humanises us,” he said.

Justice shared the story of how Babydog unexpectedly became part of his public image during his time as West Virginia’s governor. “I didn’t intend in any way to be hauling a bulldog around. No way on Earth,” he admitted. “We never owned a bulldog before. She’s not supposed to like everybody, but she does. And with that being said, how can a message be any better?”

In a heartfelt close, he added:
“She would say just this: If you’re rich or poor, or a kid or an adult, or, God forbid, a Republican or a Democrat, she still loves you.”

More Than Just a Mascot: Babydog’s Pandemic-Era Legacy

This isn’t Babydog’s first moment in the spotlight. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she became the face of West Virginia’s “Do It for Babydog” vaccine lottery campaign. Her presence helped drive up vaccination numbers in the state and endeared her to citizens far beyond political circles.

Babydog’s Capitol cameo may have started as a light-hearted moment, but it ended up reminding everyone in the chamber of the power of empathy—and wagging tails—to bring people together.

Florida Woman Arrested for Allegedly Raping Dog, Here’s What Happened

March 31, 2025, 3:41 pm

A social media influencer based in Florida has been arrested for reportedly having sex with her pet chihuahua and posting the videos on Instagram.

Logan Guminski, 27, of Ocala in Marion County, calls herself a ‘dog mom’ and has approximately 15,000 followers on Instagram. She was arrested on March 21 and charged with two felonies: having sex with an animal and videotaping such acts. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office posted about her arrest on Facebook, including a photo of her handcuffed in pink sweatpants and a grey hoodie.

How Authorities Discovered the Case

An anonymous tip in January led authorities to investigate disturbing content posted on Guminski’s Instagram. Detective Batts spearheaded the case, uncovering multiple incriminating videos and images. During questioning, Guminski admitted to creating and selling a video to another social media user for $500. She also confessed to engaging in similar acts with another dog, with the footage still stored on her phone.

Her Instagram, which she keeps active, contains a few posts expressing love for her animals. In one, she utilized a feature that allowed her to show ‘what your man looks like’, comically putting an image of a dog over her head. She captioned the post, “What can I say… they are quite literally my whole world.” The post, made on March 13, was published a little over a week prior to her arrest.

Two days prior to her arrest, on March 19, she welcomed a new dog among her followers, saying, “Introducing the newest member of the family. Guys say hi to Juniper, AKA Junebug.”

Guminski was released on $10,000 bond on March 22 and is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on April 22.

Delhi Man Reunites with Lost Dog, Heartwarming Video Goes Viral | WATCH

March 21, 2025, 1:31 pm

A touching tale of a Delhi man’s reunion with his missing dog, Charlie, is spreading smiles all over the internet. The video, in which the Golden Retriever happily wagging its tail was reunited with its owner, was uploaded on Reddit early Friday morning by one of the dog’s owner’s friends. The man took an overnight journey to reunite with his pet, as described in the post, “Missed Charlie is found, thanks to everyone who reached out to help.

In the clip, Charlie is chained up, and the man fondly touches him as he sits on his knees. Charlie’s owner’s friend had posted how Charlie was discovered in the post: “My friend finally found the doggo. He pasted posters everywhere around the neighborhood. And then a store owner called him and said that he saw the doggo with someone.”

As per the post, one worker had taken Charlie to Aligarh, and the shop owner was familiar with the worker. Upon some negotiation (maybe including threats), the worker disclosed Charlie’s whereabouts. “Some worker had taken the doggo to Aligarh. Shop owner knew the worker somehow. After some discussions (maybe some threats) that guy finally revealed where he was with the doggo.”

The post continued to reveal how the owner of the dog traveled overnight and was reunited with Charlie in the morning. “My friend travelled overnight and was reunited with him today morning. Thanks to everyone who helped and prayed. I just can’t help how wholesome this was, so decided to post the video and update you guys.”

I can’t imagine if same happened to Casper.”

Most of them exclaimed their joy, with one of them stating, “Just what I needed to see before going to the gym,” and another stating, “Omygaawd that’s incredible, such a rare possibility it was.”

Dog’s Strange Behavior Predicts Owner’s Cancer Diagnosis

March 14, 2025, 10:54 am

One woman in Pennsylvania, Breanna Bortner, credits her dog, Mochi, for alerting her to her breast cancer before she even knew that anything was wrong, the New York Post reported.

In June 2023, 31-year-old Bortner saw her cockapoo, Mochi, behaving strangely. Generally a cuddlebug, Mochi was obsessed with her right breast, sniffing, pawing at, and nudging the region with uncharacteristic insistence. Bortner was also disturbed to see her sister-in-law’s cockapoo, Gunner, carry out similar actions.

Although Bortner had been feeling fatigued over the past year, she hadn’t suspected anything serious. However, while scratching a mosquito bite near her breast, she discovered a lump. Remembering stories of dogs detecting cancer through scent, Bortner felt uneasy about Mochi’s behavior.

Encouraged by her worry, Bortner made an appointment, and physicians soon identified her with stage 2B triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma, a highly aggressive type of breast cancer that doesn’t react to standard hormonal therapies.

Bortner commented on how fast the cancer had grown, “That’s how fast and aggressive this triple-negative breast cancer is,” she explained. “It went from non-feel-able, non-detectable to a physical lump within three months.”

Breast cancer is the second most prevalent cancer in American women, next to skin cancer. Approximately one woman in eight will develop it sometime in her lifetime. Detection at an early stage enhances survival to as high as 89% when cancer is found before it has spread, but those odds plummet to 31% if the cancer has invaded other parts of the body.

Following her diagnosis, Bortner underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. Looking back, she believes Mochi’s sensitivity to her condition led to the timely detection of her cancer. “We really underestimate how smart [dogs] are just because they don’t talk and they can’t communicate to us, but their actions obviously show us the things that they’re tuning into or are aware of,” she said.

Scientific research has advocated for the view that dogs are able to detect cancer. A study conducted in 2019 revealed that dogs could identify samples of blood from cancer patients at a 97% accuracy level. Other studies have established that dogs are able to detect various types of cancer, such as prostate, breast, cervical, and lung, in some cases before conventional medical investigations.

For Bortner, Mochi was not just her early warning system but also an emotional companion during her treatment. “I was sobbing all the time and he did not appreciate that. He was extremely concerned about me. He actually became my healing buddy. He was a higher purpose for me.”

By last spring, Bortner had received the encouraging news that she was cancer-free. In the same way that he had been beside her when she received her diagnosis, Mochi was present to rejoice at her recovery. “It’s pretty cool to see it come full circle and for him to be there from the time I found the lump all the way through finding out I was cancer-free,” she said.

While Bortner is keeping busy with her recovery, she still gets scans every three months to check for recurrence. In the meantime, Mochi, who got used to having her around all the time, has developed separation anxiety, a new difficulty that they are working on with a trainer.

Bortner’s tale not only points up dogs’ incredible instincts, but also demonstrates the potential contribution of developing technologies to early cancer diagnosis. For instance, a TikTok user recently attributed saving her own life to her Oura ring, a smartwatch-style wearable that monitors health metrics, a device that flagged her for early lymphoma symptoms by identifying unusual body temperature patterns.

One of the viewers commented, “How in the world did that dog even get there in the first place?”

The touching video of the rescue went viral on social media in no time.

In another viral video, a service dog named Bailey demonstrated his exceptional instincts when he assisted his owner during a medical episode. The woman, who has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), was busy in her kitchen when Bailey detected her symptoms. Abandoned German Shepherd waits 8 hours in Delhi market, rescued and named ‘Swiggy’

January 16, 2025, 3:18 pm

A German Shepherd, left abandoned in a crowded Delhi market, waited eight hours for her owner before animal welfare activists came to rescue her. The heartbreaking story of the dog, which has been rechristened ‘Swiggy,’ has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and sympathy.

The story started when X user Ajay Joe shared a video on January 14 of the German Shepherd sitting on a parked scooter. As quoted from Joe, this dog had apparently been left waiting for her master in a marketplace in Delhi for the return. He explained this by saying: “This evening, a dog was brought to a marketplace in Delhi on a scooter and was conveniently left behind—in other words, abandoned. The poor dog has climbed onto another scooter and has been waiting there for the past 8 hours, longing for his owner. His eyes are full of hope and despair as he looks around, searching for the person who left him.”

Animal lovers immediately noticed the dog’s situation. Volunteers started working together to ensure her safety, and one stayed with the dog till 3 am, feeding and comforting her. Renu Khinchi, another volunteer, managed to arrange transport to take the dog to a safer location.

Swiggy’s New Name and Rescue

Lastly, animal rescuer Kaveri Rana rescued the German Shepherd. Then, it was found that the dog was female, and a social media update had previously said otherwise. According to Joe, “We did not care what gender the dog was when we were trying to rescue her and keep her safe all night. The watchful eye of dedicated volunteers kept her safe on the streets.

The dog was given the name ‘Swiggy’ in reverence to the initiative of the food delivery platform towards reuniting lost pets with their owners. Joe and Rana, and many others for that matter, were furious with the abandonment of the dog. Joe wrote, “Abandoning a pet is one of the most heartless and cruel acts a human can commit.”. Pets depend on us for care and love; leaving them is a betrayal of their trust and loyalty,” while Rana added, “Curse to the evil human who abandoned such a sweet, loyal doggo who kept on waiting!”

She’s a girl ❤️

We’ve named her “Swiggy” after @Swiggy ‘s initiative to help find missing dogs.

Thanks to everyone’s good wishes on @X , she stayed near the scooter, clinging to it often, now safe @TheDogMother_’s home and sanctuary.

Pudding, a dog that was on board the ill-fated Jeju Air flight headed to South Korea, became a symbol of grief and loyalty after the tragic crash claimed the lives of 179 people, including its 80-year-old owner and eight other family members.

The dog, left behind in the village when the family took their flight, witnessed the devastating accident at Muan International Airport. The family of Pudding had been returning from a trip to Thailand when the accident happened and, therefore, lost all its loved ones in the unfortunate accident, making the dog an orphan.

Pudding, the dog who lost 9 family members in the Jeju Air crash last week and was seen wandering the village alone, today visited the memorial altar set up in Seoul to say goodbyes.https://t.co/5LEKCJx7Va https://t.co/lbEQky7qKm pic.twitter.com/I5NrzaxWgq

Pudding Pays Visit to the Memorial Altar

On Sunday, Pudding solemnly visited the memorial place of the victims of the Jeju Air crash at Seoul City Hall. The dog walked toward the memorial altar, bearing a chrysanthemum flower in silence. The atmosphere was solemn and emotional. Pudding looked intensely at the altar with deep attention and a sense of mourning, capturing its somber demeanor. Pudding wore a blue outfit as it was held gently by its foster caregiver. It was said that the dog did not bark nor jump but stood still, silently observing moments of silence for its lost family.

After the accident, Pudding roamed the village looking for its family. The animal rights group called ‘Care’ noticed the dog alone in the community center and decided to intervene for the safety of the dog. An official from Care shared, “Pudding was sitting calmly in the community center but ran towards us with an open heart and joy, like waiting for a family. Seeing this dog wandering without anyone, we thought it risky and took that dog into care.”

Pudding is living under the auspices of that organization and getting a new life with loving home after losing loved family members.

This Dog Cost More Than An SUV, Rs 60,000 Monthly Lifestyle, His Cost Is…

December 17, 2024, 9:34 am

Imagine a dog, priced as high as a Mahindra XUV or a Honda Amaze. One such dog is Thor: a Caucasian Shepherd Dog sold at an astonishing Rs 8 lakh. What’s adding to the fascination is that it costs a middle-class family much more than its monthly upkeep alone, which ranges between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000. Not just a lavish diet and temperature-controlled living arrangements define this pampered pet that leaves many stunned.

Thor, who was brought to the Pet Fed India event in Delhi by his owner, Vinayak Pratap Singh, took the center stage. He was intimidating in appearance but surprised the audience with his gentle nature and easily won the hearts of onlookers.

A Rare Breed from the US

Thor is a Caucasian Shepherd Dog, also known as the Caucasian Ovcharka, bred in colder climates. Vinayak mentioned that Thor weighs an impressive 72 kg and is 75 cm tall. He got Thor from the United States as part of a litter of dogs gifted by his brother. The female stays at home, but Thor‘s towering presence stole hearts in Delhi.

A Lavish Lifestyle for a Gentle Giant

Thor is fed three times a day with chicken, meat, and dog food. He consumes 250 grams of chicken daily. However, that is not all his luxurious lifestyle comprises. Thor needs an air conditioner and a cooler in summer to beat the Indian heat. He is bathed thrice a day and cold water is provided to him to keep him cool.

He flourishes during the winter months when the natural climatecomes in place, reflecting his breed origins from colder regions. Maintenance is high-quality shampoos, medical care, and living arrangements, which focus on the extensive care for such an exotic breed.

A Crowd Favourite

Thor‘s appearance at the Pet Fed India event was something spectacular. While most admire his size and strength, others are charmed by his friendly and calm nature, which dispels the notion that such dogs are aggressive. Thor is not a pet but a statement of luxury, love, and dedication.

Thor‘s story is a manifestation of the increasing interest in foreign breeds in India and how owners go to great lengths to ensure their pets live in comfort and style.

The dramatic incident, which took place on Monday, was captured in a nearly seven-minute-long video that has since gone viral. The footage shows the venomous snake charging at the dog, only for the dog to retaliate fiercely in defense.

The confrontation begins with the King Cobra slithering towards the dog, seemingly preparing to strike. However, the dog, not intimidated by the threat, responds aggressively by lunging at the snake. At one point, a second dog enters the scene and cautiously approaches the snake, but quickly retreats, likely sensing the danger. Delhi Man Harassed by ‘Big Dog’ Owner While Walking Shih Tzu

October 28, 2024, 11:07 am

A dog owner shared on Reddit that he faced threats from his neighbor while walking his Shih Tzu in a colony. The 21-year-old reported that the other man, who owned two large dogs, reacted aggressively upon seeing him with his smaller dog and demanded he leave the area. When the young man refused, stating that the road was public property, the neighbor allegedly threatened him, saying, “Meine apne kutte khol diye toh tere kutte ko kha jayenge (If I unleash my dogs, they will eat your dog).”

He expressed his frustration, stating, “Abused and almost got slapped by a neighbour for walking my dog in my colony in Delhi,” noting that the incident took place in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The man recounted that the neighbor not only cursed at him but also attempted to slap him, although he was stopped by another person before the action could take place.

Social Media Reaction

The post ignited a debate on social media regarding who was in the right. However, many users voiced their support for the Shih Tzu owner.

One commenter advised, “Stop thinking about legal steps. Pet care is not going to be easy for you. Change your route and go somewhere else. Avoid the crazy. No one denies that it’s your right to walk your dog in the society, but you are dealing with crazy here. Don’t let your dog get hurt. Approach the society secretary and explain your issue calmly. Request him to set some guidelines regarding walking pets inside the society. I would do this and have done this in the past. Griefers calmed down after that. PS: I’d still keep an eye on my pet even after this issue gets resolved because some crazy cannot be fixed. But that’s just how I think.”

Another user commented, “Choose mental peace. Can’t fight the crazy. If you get him punished, his family will hold a grudge. If you get him to temper his behaviour through the police or society secretary, he’ll permanently hold a grudge, trying to find an opportunity to fix you. Ignore him and his general area. It’s not cowardly; it’s important for your own mental peace.”

Others shared their thoughts, with one stating, “Everyone is so frustrated nowadays it’s almost scary,” while another remarked, “Delhi is the most uncivilised city in the world.”

Paramotorist Spots Dog Chasing Birds Atop the Great Pyramid of Giza | Viral Video

October 16, 2024, 1:28 pm

Climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza, or any of Egypt’s 118 pyramids, is strictly prohibited. To get a view of the top, many tourists opt for paragliding or paramotoring tours. However, when one paramotorist took such a tour, he witnessed something entirely unexpected—a dog chasing birds atop the ancient monument.

Alex Lang was flying over the Great Pyramid, the largest of the three in Giza, when he noticed some movement at its summit. In what turned out to be a surprising discovery, he saw a dog casually wandering around the apex of what was once the tallest human-made structure for nearly 4,000 years.

Lang shared footage of the dog with Storyful, showing the animal walking along one of the uppermost tiers of the pyramid. “The dog was barking at birds,” he recalled. The incident, which took place on Monday, October 14, quickly gained traction on Instagram.

The video’s comments varied, with one saying, “If he [the dog] pees there, all Egypt belongs to him.” Another user humorously remarked, “Not a dog. That is the Egyptian God Anubis. He is considered the guide of the dead in the afterlife and the protector of the tombs. That’s why it is over the pyramid.” A third commenter expressed concern, stating, “I wonder how long it took him. I want him to come down and get some water.”

Whether the dog was eventually rescued remains uncertain. However, given that it is a stray, it’s unlikely the animal would face any legal repercussions for violating rules established by humans.

This unusual incident has also raised questions about the security measures in place at Giza. Some are now scrutinizing the efforts of local authorities to protect and preserve the ancient architectural and archaeological heritage of the Pyramid Age.

Climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza is illegal, carrying a punishment of up to three years in prison. Offenders may also be fined between 10,000 and 100,000 Egyptian pounds.

James Middleton’s Memoir Unveils Suicidal Struggles And Deep Bond With Prince William

September 16, 2024, 5:12 pm

James Middleton, the younger brother of Kate Middleton, has shared a poignant account of his mental health journey in his forthcoming memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life. Scheduled for release on September 24, the book provides a deeply personal look into Middleton’s battles with suicidal thoughts and the role his beloved dog, Ella, played in his recovery.

James Middleton’s Battle with Mental Health

In a revealing excerpt published by the Daily Mail, the 37-year-old James Middleton describes a period of profound despair, detailing how his mental health issues led him to the brink of suicide. He recounts feeling that “all the colour leached out of his life,” experiencing a constant, overwhelming noise in his head, and struggling with insomnia and exhaustion. Middleton candidly writes about his thoughts of ending his life and how he felt detached from his family, including his parents and siblings.

“I feel suicidal. I contemplate ways of dying so I can get off the giddy roller-coaster that is sending me to the brink of madness,” Middleton writes. He goes on to explain how his emotional state had led him to push away his loved ones, including his sisters Catherine and Pippa, and their spouses, William and James.

Ella’s Impact on Middleton’s Recovery

A particularly moving section of the memoir highlights a critical moment in November 2017 when Middleton considered jumping off a rooftop in London. He describes how his decision to reconsider was influenced by his concern for Ella, his dog. “In that instant, I know I will not jump. What would happen to Ella if I died?” Middleton reflects. The bond with his dog, whom he describes as his “companion” and “hope,” provided him with the strength to step back from the edge and ultimately find a reason to continue living.

James Middleton acknowledges that Ella has been a source of unconditional love and support through his darkest times. “She gave me purpose, a reason to be. How could I contemplate leaving her now?” he writes.

Gratitude Towards Family and the Role of Mental Health Awareness

Following his recovery, James Middleton was surprised and honored when Princess Kate and Prince William asked him to do a Bible reading at their wedding, despite his dyslexia. He expresses gratitude for their support and acknowledges their efforts in mental health advocacy.

“I am grateful to Catherine and William, whose work in the field of mental health has given them valuable knowledge and understanding,” Middleton shares.

Seeking Help

For those struggling with similar issues, Middleton’s story underscores the importance of seeking help. If you or someone you know is dealing with suicidal thoughts, support is available through iCall’s suicide prevention helpline at 9152987821.

James Middleton’s memoir promises to offer readers a heartfelt exploration of his mental health struggles and the pivotal role that Ella played in his journey towards healing.

Billy: The Tuxedo-Clad Dog Passionate For Music Who Was Invited To Vancouver Orchestra

September 16, 2024, 2:13 pm

Billy, a 2-year-old German shepherd-mix rescue dog, stole hearts at a Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra rehearsal. Dressed in a tuxedo, Billy sat calmly in the middle of the room, eyes closed, as he appeared to soak in the symphonic music.

Billy, who has become a social media sensation for his apparent love of classical music, was invited to the orchestra’s season-opening rehearsal. His owners, Lucian Barz, a violinist and violist, and Teresa Bowes, a pianist, adopted Billy from a Texas rescue farm in June 2022, unaware of his musical interest.

Barz, 33, was not entirely surprised by Billy’s reaction to music. “You hear a lot about animals enjoying music. I grew up on a farm, and I would take my violin and play for the cows,” he explained. Barz added that Bowes often plays classical music at home, and they soon noticed Billy’s positive response to the tunes.

“It’s mostly food for the soul, just to see the purity of an animal enjoying music,” Barz said. “It’s a reminder that music is the universal language.”

Ken Hsieh, conductor of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, performed Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 during the rehearsal. Expecting Billy to be playful, Hsieh was surprised by the dog’s serene demeanor and engagement with the music.

“He would lift his head when he heard something big in the music, and it went back down when it was soothing,” Hsieh noted. “It’s what I wish my audiences were doing — going through that same emotional state.”

Billy’s musical journey began when Esther Hwang, 29, the orchestra’s concertmaster and a friend of the couple, performed for him. “I performed for him as if I was playing for a live audience — with the same quality and presentation,” Hwang said. “I was moved when he was so calm and just listened with his eyes closed.”

The public’s fascination with Billy’s musical experience led Hwang to arrange his attendance at the live rehearsal. Hwang observed that Billy is attracting new listeners to classical music. “Classical music can be niche, but Billy is inviting new audiences,” she said.
