He said this lesson taught him never to internalize the negativity life throws at you. “Mujhe toh yahi sikhne ko mila ki zindagi aur duniya aap pe jitna marzi zeher phenke woh isko kabhi bhi apne andar mat lejana (No matter how much poison people throw, don’t let it get inside you. Don’t let anything disturb your work or inner peace)” he advised.

Diljit added a humorous twist by mimicking a famous dialogue from Pushpa: The Rise and captioned his video, “The positive you see in me is a reflection of you.” On Instagram, he also posted snippets from his Mumbai tour, captioning it, “Mumbai I Rise Above Your Advice .

Govt Body Disallows Diljit Dosanjh to Sing These Songs At His Chandigarh Concert

December 12, 2024, 5:45 pm

The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) has issued an advisory to singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh ahead of his December 14 concert in the city, urging him to refrain from performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, and violence. The advisory specifically mentions tracks like “Patiala Peg,” “5 Taara,” and “Case,” and cautions against performing even altered versions of such songs, citing their adverse impact on impressionable children.

CCPCR Chairperson Shipra Bansal expressed concerns about children being exposed to high decibel levels during concerts and the potential for underage alcohol consumption at late-night events. She noted that during previous performances, children were invited on stage and exposed to inappropriate content. Bansal emphasized that serving alcohol to individuals under 25 is punishable under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and other laws.

This advisory follows a similar directive issued by the Telangana government in November, which instructed Dosanjh not to perform songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence during his Hyderabad concert. In response, Dosanjh modified the lyrics of certain songs and challenged authorities, stating he would cease performing alcohol-themed songs if a nationwide liquor ban were implemented. He remarked, “You close liquor shops across the country, I will stop singing songs about alcohol.”

In light of these advisories, the CCPCR has requested that Dosanjh and the event organizers ensure compliance with guidelines to protect children’s welfare during the concert. Authorities have been alerted to monitor the event for adherence to these directives.

Diljit Dosanjh Songs That Reference Alcohol:

“Patiala Peg“: A popular track celebrating the traditional large peg of whiskey, reflecting Punjabi drinking culture.

“5 Taara“: While primarily a love song, it includes references to alcohol in its lyrics.

“Raat Di Gedi“: Features themes of nightlife and drinking.

“G.O.A.T.“: Contains references to a lavish lifestyle, including alcohol consumption.

“Laembadgini“: Mentions alcohol in the context of a celebratory lifestyle.

He also spoke about the rise of independent music and artists, giving a shoutout to fellow musicians Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon.

Diljit Responds to Ticket Reselling Criticism

In the video, Diljit defended himself against accusations of ticket scalping. He said, “For some time, it’s been said in our country, ‘Diljit’s tickets are being sold in black.’ How is it my fault? If someone buys a ₹10 ticket and sells it for ₹100, how is that the artist’s fault?”

Acknowledging the Long-Standing Issue

Diljit explained that ticket scalping is not a new problem. He added, “Keep accusing me if you want. I don’t fear defamation. There’s no tension. This has been happening since cinema started in India—₹10 tickets sold for ₹20.” He also noted that in the past, singers sang in the background while actors lip-synced, but now, singers have stepped into the spotlight.

Support for Fellow Artists

Diljit also wished Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon success with their tours. “Two of my brothers, Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon, have started their tours. Best of luck to them,” he said. He added, “This is the time for independent music. Problems will come. When a revolution happens, difficulties follow. But we will keep doing our work.”

A Call to Independent Artists

Diljit encouraged other independent artists to work even harder. “All independent artists, double your effort. The time for Indian music has come. Earlier, tickets for foreign artists were sold in black; now, it’s happening for Indian artists. This is ‘vocal for local,'” he said.

Upcoming Performances

Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour continues with a performance in Chandigarh on December 14. He will conclude his India tour in Guwahati on December 29. VHP member Yash Bachani emphasized their commitment to protecting the city’s culture and warned of potential street protests.

Coca-Cola Gets A Boost After Diljit Dosanjh Replaces Alcohol Lyrics With ‘Coke’ | WATCH

November 19, 2024, 12:04 pm

During his recent performance in Hyderabad, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh made a creative move to comply with the Telangana state government’s directive, which prohibited promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence in songs. As a result, the singer altered several lyrics, replacing mentions of alcohol with references to Coca-Cola, much to the amusement of his fans and social media users.

For example, the line “5 tara theke” was changed to “5 tara hotel,” and “daaru ‘ch lemonade” became “Coke ‘ch lemonade.” The unexpected tweaks added a humorous twist to the concert, leaving the crowd in high spirits and Diljit himself grinning as he sang about the popular soft drink.

Coca-Cola Seizes the Moment

Diljit’s spontaneous lyric adjustments proved to be a clever marketing move for Coca-Cola, which benefitted from an influx of free publicity. The video, which featured Diljit singing ‘Pehle Lalkare,’ showed him replacing references to alcohol with Coke in the lyrics. In a light-hearted response, Coca-Cola’s official Instagram page commented on the video, adding their own twist to the lyrics: “Chautha kaam twade gaane japne (fourth task is worshipping your songs).”

The humorous exchange between Diljit and Coca-Cola generated buzz, with social media users pointing out how the soda giant received significant exposure through the unplanned lyrics changes. “Coke has made incredible impressions with the recent tweak in lyrics by Diljit,” one post on X noted. Another user remarked, “This could be a once-in-a-lifetime free offer for Coca-Cola.”

Diljit Criticizes Telangana Government’s Restrictions

While the lyrics tweaks may have earned Diljit a playful moment with Coca-Cola, he did not hold back in criticizing the Telangana government’s restrictions. After receiving a notice from the government to avoid performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence, Diljit raised concerns over what he saw as double standards. The singer pointed out that foreign artists are allowed to perform without facing similar limitations, while Indian artists like him are subjected to strict regulations.

A Performance That Got the World Talking

What started as an adjustment to comply with state rules turned into a viral moment, drawing attention from fans, the media, and even brands. Diljit’s ability to turn a potentially tricky situation into an entertaining and promotional opportunity not only amused concertgoers but also sparked conversations about censorship, celebrity influence, and the intersection of music and marketing.

In an unfortunate twist, controversial influencer Andrew Tate chimed in on the viral post shared on X (formerly Twitter), leaving a derogatory comment, “Bet it stinks of curry.” This remark, which quickly drew backlash, reignited debates over Tate’s ongoing inflammatory behavior on social media. The British-American influencer, who refers to himself as a “self-proclaimed misogynist,” has a history of incendiary statements. While Tate is currently facing legal issues, including a high-profile trial in Romania on charges related to sexual assault and human trafficking, his remark here has added to his reputation for stoking controversy.

Diljit Dosanjh Thrills 35,000 Fans In Delhi, But World Concert Records Remain Distant

October 27, 2024, 2:53 pm

Diljit Dosanjh made a triumphant return to India on Saturday, performing in Delhi as part of his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour. The concert, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, attracted an impressive 35,000 enthusiastic fans, marking it as one of the largest concerts in Indian history. However, in comparison to some of the biggest concerts globally, Diljit’s event appears modest.

The title for the largest concert in history goes to a New Year’s Eve celebration at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro in December 1994. This monumental event saw an astounding attendance of 3.5 million people as Rod Stewart took to the stage. The allure of free entry, along with the vibrant carnival-like atmosphere and unrestricted food and drink options, drew huge crowds to the beach. Notably, this attendance exceeded the population of several nearby cities.

Three years later, in 1997, French musician Jean-Michel Jarre matched this record with his performance at the Oxygene concert in Moscow, which also saw an attendance of 3.5 million, making these two events a staggering hundred times larger than Dosanjh’s Delhi concert.

When it comes to ticketed events, attendance figures are typically lower. The largest ticketed concert record is held by Italian artist Vasco Rossi, who performed in Modena Park in 2017, drawing a crowd of 225,000 fans. In India, the largest ticketed concerts were by Justin Bieber in Mumbai in 2021 and Diljit Dosanjh in 2023, both of which attracted 50,000 attendees.

While Diljit’s concert in Delhi is certainly a monumental achievement within the Indian music scene, it serves as a reminder of the immense scale of global concerts, where attendance figures can reach astonishing heights.

Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal Walks Through Delhi Traffic to Reach Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert

October 27, 2024, 11:48 am

Global star Diljit Dosanjh launched his ‘Dil-Luminati’ India tour on October 26, beginning with a packed concert at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. His performance drew an enthusiastic crowd that caused notable traffic congestion across the city, with Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal among those navigating the scene. Goyal shared the experience on Instagram, posting, “Walking the last mile to the JLN stadium for Diljit. Sooooo much traffic.” He also shared an image of a sign listing prohibited items for the concert, such as “weapons and sharp objects, personal equipment, laser pointers, animals, flammable materials, and more.”

To manage the extra traffic from Dosanjh’s concert and a nearby Radha Soami Satsang gathering, Delhi Traffic Police issued a comprehensive advisory. They restricted heavy vehicles on Bhati Mines Road between Chattar Pur Road (SSN Marg) and the Gurgaon Road T-Point from 4:00 AM to 6:30 PM, also setting up diversions via Mandi Road-Jona Pur cut to Mehrauli-Gurugram Road and from Badh Road cut near Mallu Farm.

Dosanjh, who recently toured the US and Europe, is now focused on his Indian performances. Following his New Delhi shows, he’s set to entertain audiences in cities like Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati, with the first leg of his India tour running through Sunday.
