Once the man exits, the officer sits down and starts counting the bribe money. The footage then cuts to a scene where the three policemen are seated together, with the first officer dividing the bribe money among them. The other two officers are seen smiling as they receive their share.

The video quickly gained attention on social media, prompting Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to respond. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Saxena confirmed that the three policemen involved—two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) and one Head Constable—had been suspended.

“Taking cognizance of this post, after preliminary investigation, the above 3 policemen have been suspended and a comprehensive departmental inquiry is being conducted against them,” Saxena said.

The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about corruption within the police force. The Delhi Police Department has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, the flight operations in IGI airport terminal 1 have been suspended, following the collapse of termina’s roof amid heavy rain, leaving two people injured and one dead.

So far, sixteen departure flights and twelve arrival flights have been cancelled, as Delhi witnessed 150 mm of rainfall between 2.30 am to 5.30 am. Thus, recording one of the wettest spells of the year.

Despite efforts by senior officers to equip traffic posts with coolers and provide electrolyte packets, many officers are still enduring discomfort and health issues due to inadequate cooling measures.

According to Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and Sub-Inspectors (SIs) stationed across various points in Delhi, the conditions have been challenging. A significant number of traffic booths lack basic amenities like fans and coolers, forcing officers to find their own means of relief. Some officers have resorted to using personal vehicles with air conditioning during unbearable weather conditions.

“We manage with what we have, but it’s tough. The booth conditions vary, and not all are equipped with cooling facilities,” remarked a senior SI, highlighting the precarious state of infrastructure at some traffic posts.

Senior officers, including DCP (Traffic) Shashank Jaiswal, have acknowledged the situation and claimed efforts to provide coolers and hydration support to the personnel. “We have distributed coolers and ORS packets extensively this year, aiming to keep our officers hydrated and comfortable during duty,” stated DCP Jaiswal.

However, concerns about the health impact of alternative cooling gadgets like AC helmets or jackets with ice pads and built-in fans have led the Delhi Police to refrain from adopting such technologies. Delhi Traffic Police Allows Travellers to Waive or Reduce Challans Here’s How?

Delhi’s traffic police are offering a big opportunity for residents. They can now get their traffic fines reduced or even waived altogether.

Delhi Police is now giving a one-time chance extension to Travellers with pending traffic challans, to settle their dues with reduced fines or get complete waivers.

Collaborating with Delhi State Legal services authority, a national Lok Adalat is now going to held on May 11, 2024.

The aim of this Lok Adalat is to settle huge number of pending claims. Especially, the pending payments owed to Delhi’s Traffic police challans or notices.

As per further information provided by Delhi police in their website, the national Lok Adalat will deal with the cases involving compoundable traffic challans including commercial vehicles which are pending till January 31, 2024, on Delhi’s traffic police portal.

How Does this Process Work?

Under this process, First, the individuals retrieve or download their notices or challans from Delhi Traffic Website portal (Link to download will be activated at 10 am until the notice limit is exhausted)

Then, Individuals can approach the Adalat to settle their cases or present their matter.

As a result, they get the chance to potentially settle case through a lower amount or have their cases dismissed altogether.

However, due to the non-availability of printing facilities, the individuals must carry their printout of their notices/challans in the court premises.

The sessions will take place in different courts across Delhi which also including Dwarka, Kakardoma, Patiala house, Rohini, Rouse Avenue, Saket and Tis Hazari.

G20 Summit : Delhi Traffic Police issues alert

Security was increased in some areas of the national capital on Sunday in preparation for the crucial Day 2 of the G20 Summit.

According to the Delhi Traffic Police alert, “Police Controlled Zone 2 has been implemented and consequently, buses will not operate on Ring Road between ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Sarai Kale Khan. Buses will operate on the remaining stretch of Ring Road and the road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi.”

The alert also advised commuters traveling to the airport to take Rao Tula Ram Marg rather than Dhaula Kuan due to traffic restrictions associated with the G20 Summit. Additionally, it stated that the other traffic laws that have been in effect since August 23 will continue to be in effect. Top-notch security provided the backdrop for the first day of the G20 meeting in Delhi, where world leaders gathered under one roof to attend the G20 meeting at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday. This included empty roads and congested mobile networks. The city was declared a no-fly zone, and mobile signals at the event site were jammed to prevent any breaches. The security establishment took no chances to ensure complete security throughout the gathering.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory on Saturday informing commuters that repair work on the carriageway from IIT to Nehru Place has begun, affecting traffic movement on the stretch.

The carriageway from Nehru Place to IIT Delhi has also been opened for traffic movement, according to Delhi Police. The official Twitter account of the Delhi Traffic Police stated, “On the Chirag Delhi Flypast, the carriageway from Nehru Place to IIT has been opened for traffic movement. Now that repair work on the carriageway from IIT to Nehru Place has begun, traffic on this stretch is impacted “.

In this regard, the Delhi traffic police had previously issued a traffic advisory on March 9 stating that the Chirag Delhi Flypast on the Outer Ring Road will be closed for a total of 50 days beginning March 12, 2023, as the Public Works Department (PWD).

The repair work on each carriageway will take 25 days, according to the advisory. The advisory also specified the detour point for commuters from the Panchsheel flypast.

PM to inaugurate Kartavya Path, traffic advisory issued

The newly named “Kartavya Path,” which runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate and features red granite walkways with vegetation all around, renovated canals, state-specific food stalls, new utility blocks, and vending kiosks, will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

At 7 o’clock, the PM will arrive at the location to unveil the statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. He will then proceed to the India Gate and walk through the fountain to the stepped plaza at 7:13 pm in the evening.

Delhi Police prepares for Kanwar Yatra, 338 camps approved for the stay of Kanwariyas

Delhi Police is very cautious about the Kanwar Yatra to be held in this holy month of Sawan. The police have made security arrangements for the Kanwar’s at different places. After two years, the Kanwar Yatra is happening again this month of Sawan, and more people are expected to visit this year.

At the same time, the Delhi Administration is also cautious about this Yatra; more than 2,000 Delhi, Traffic Police personnel will be deployed for the smooth movement of Kanwar pilgrims and vehicles.

Moreover, Delhi Traffic Police personnel will be stationed on various routes in Shahdara districts bordering Uttar Pradesh. So that Kanwar passengers do not have to face any trouble. Apart from traffic personnel, Delhi Police and paramilitary forces security officers will also be present in the eastern parts of Delhi.

According to Delhi Police, so far, 338 Kanwariya camps have been sanctioned for the convenience and stay of Kanwar pilgrims, and these camps are being set up at various places in East Delhi.

Delhi Traffic Police Deputy Commissioner Ram Gopal Naik informed out of 338 camps, 172 had been approved by the government, including nine security camps, while 157 were private camps. Also, senior traffic police officials said that separate lanes have already been made for Kanwariyas on certain roads, and no vehicle will be allowed to enter those lanes.

For security in the camps, the DCPs of the three districts said that CCTV cameras are being installed on all bases, besides a logbook containing the data of kanwariyas entering and exiting the camps will be maintained.
