His attention to detail, including booth management and candidate selection, proved highly effective. Now, his focus shifts to Bihar for the next phase of his strategy.
</excerpt>

New Delhi: Union Minister Amit Shah, often referred to as the political “Chanakya” of India, is known for his sharp thinking, strategic planning, and execution. His focus is entirely on the success of his party, working tirelessly day and night to craft subtle strategies that the opposition often fails to notice. Shah has skillfully designed political moves to outmaneuver opponents in multiple states, including Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi. His clever and well-planned tactics have made him a formidable force, making it extremely difficult for the opposition to challenge his influence and political acumen.

During the Haryana election, which appeared to be the most challenging, Amit Shah took full control of the situation. He managed everything, from devising the election strategy to distributing tickets, making decisions that turned the tide in favor of the BJP. While Congress blamed the EVMs for their defeat, the real truth was that they had realized a week before the vote that they were losing. After securing Haryana, Shah quickly shifted his focus to Maharashtra and created such a strategy that even Sharad Pawar, a seasoned political leader, was defeated. Pawar’s party faced a crushing loss that he had never anticipated. Shah had directly targeted Pawar in his first campaign, signaling that only the BJP would win. Uddhav Thackeray, who had sided with Pawar to play the sympathy card, was also shocked by the results. Shah’s strategies proved successful in Maharashtra and were similarly applied to the Delhi elections, which many thought would be difficult for the BJP. His careful planning and execution helped the party maintain a strong hold across multiple states.

Congress is wearing façade of happiness which appears unnecessary after the defeat of AAP. Congress sems to be oblivion of the fact that had Congress allied with AAP, the outcome would have likely been the same, with similar results for both parties. Talking about the strategy devised by the ‘Chanakya’; Amit Shah, often called as a political mastermind, devised a comprehensive strategy for the Delhi elections, adapting his approach based on the nature of the contest. Once it was clear that the election would be a triangular fight, Shah adjusted his tactics accordingly. He first focused on the slums, mobilizing support through the Sangh and personally addressing a slum conference. Next, he turned his attention to women, replicating the successful strategy used in the 2020 Bihar elections, offering guarantees to attract their votes. Issues such as poor infrastructure, dilapidated roads, and dirty lanes were highlighted to resonate with the voters.

Prime Minister Modi’s “Aap Da” campaign slogan played a significant role in connecting with the people. Shah also made sure to directly communicate with booth-level workers, a key strength of the BJP. Booth management, considered the party’s biggest asset, was carefully overseen by Shah, who is regarded as an expert in this area. In contrast, opposition parties treated booth management as a mere formality.

If the equation of ticket distribution is analyzed thoroughly, Shah made strategic decisions based on Meticulous inspection of each constituency. For instance, he chose Pravesh Verma for New Delhi, Kapil Mishra for Karawal Nagar, and Mohan Singh Bisht for Mustafabad. These decisions were surprising but effective. Verma, initially seeking a ticket from Outer Delhi, agreed to contest New Delhi on Shah’s advice. Similarly, Bisht was fielded in a Muslim-dominated area, where Shah’s strategy aimed to unite Hindus and secure a win. His overall approach in both campaigning and strategy proved to be highly effective.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was made the face but at the same time such a strategy was made that the election was run on issues only. As far as campaigning is concerned, Prime Minister Modi was the most prominent star campaigner but the way Home Minister Shah used his team made the victory easier. From Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to all the Chief Ministers, responsibility was given according to the seats.

In the election strategy, each leader was assigned responsibility for influencing voters in specific constituencies. For example, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami campaigned in areas related to Uttarakhand, while former CM Ramesh Chandra Pokhriyal was in charge of managing multiple seats, including New Delhi. The Jat-dominated seats in outer Delhi were overseen by Haryana in-charge Satish Poonia. Amit Shah closely monitored the management of each seat, ensuring everything was on track. In terms of campaigning, Shah personally attended 12 public meetings and four road shows, actively campaigning on 16 seats. Out of these, the BJP won 14, with only Kalkaji and Badarpur remaining out of their reach. This success further solidified Shah’s reputation as a master strategist.

Shah earned the title of “Chanakya of politics” not just by his presence but by his behind-the-scenes work. While he remained out of the spotlight during the 2014 general election, he was the key strategist. His leadership during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections demonstrated his political brilliance, leading the BJP to a landslide victory. Shah’s strategy played a crucial role in the success of the 2019 general election and various state elections afterward. In the 2024 general election, the opposition’s confused campaign and overconfidence hurt them, while Shah took command in all states, making strategic decisions with the party’s organization.

Now, Amit Shah’s focus is on Bihar, where he has already started touring. Once the election of the new national president is completed, Bihar will become his primary target for the next phase of his political strategy.

BJP secured a massive victory, sparking speculation over the next Chief Minister’s appointment.
</excerpt>

A shocking video has surfaced on social media, showing a mock funeral procession of former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. In the viral clip, a group of people is seen carrying an effigy of Kejriwal with his photograph attached, while a band plays in the background.

Protesters Carry Effigy with Controversial Message

Among the participants, a young boy is spotted holding a placard that reads, “Arvind Kejriwal, the only son of the corrupt.” The exact reason behind this act remains unclear, but it appears to be a demonstration against the AAP leader. The location and date of the video have not been verified, though it is claimed to be from Delhi.

BJP’s Landslide Victory and AAP’s Defeat

The video gained traction online after the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 results were announced on February 8. The Aam Aadmi Party faced a major setback, securing only 22 out of 70 seats, while the BJP registered a sweeping victory with 48 seats. In contrast, AAP had won 62 seats in the 2020 elections, with the BJP managing only 8. The Congress party continued its losing streak, failing to win a single seat for the third consecutive time.

Speculations Over Delhi’s Next Chief Minister

Following the BJP’s decisive win, speculation has begun over who will be appointed as Delhi’s next Chief Minister. Reports suggest that the party might consider a leader from outside Delhi, with names like Smriti Irani and Bansuri Swaraj emerging as potential candidates. However, the final decision will be made by the BJP leadership in the coming days.

As the video continues to circulate online, social media remains divided, with debates over political strategies and electoral performances heating up.

Why BJP is Poised to Win Delhi, Here are 5 Key Reasons

<excerpt>The BJP is leading in the Delhi Assembly elections, poised to unseat AAP after 27 years. The party’s campaign focused on continuing welfare schemes, development, and tackling corruption. AAP struggled with anti-incumbency, internal disarray, and declining middle-class support.
</excerpt>

The BJP’s double engine strategy appears to be well on its way to taking Delhi. As of 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, the party was on course to dethrone Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after three consecutive Assembly elections. If the trends hold, this would mark the BJP’s return to power in the Union Territory after 27 years.

According to reports from the Election Commission of India, the BJP was leading on 44 of the 70 seats—thus well past the majority mark of 35 —while AAP had taken a lead in 26 constituencies. The Congress mostly stayed out of the contest.

The BJP had run its election campaign, anchored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on three prominent themes: to continue AAP’s welfare schemes; to deliver the double engine for development; and to intensify its fight against what it has called “AAP’s corruption”.

Meanwhile, AAP remained plagued by issues of anti-incumbency alongside internal disruptions whereby several of the senior leaders remain in jail for long periods.
The second reason was AAP alienation from middle-class society and the middle classes. Though lower-income groups immensely benefited from their welfare-oriented style of governance, middle-class constituents, who derived no direct or indirect benefits for themselves, would get frustrated that roads and basic civic infrastructure worsened across the city of Delhi.

Here are five key reasons why the BJP looks set to grab Delhi for the next five years.

1. Strong Middle-Class Outreach

The AAP was, in the beginning, a byproduct of the middle class’s dissatisfaction with the political system. However, slowly and steadily, it has gained the perception that it is now a party, which primarily engages in welfare measures for the poor, such as free bus rides for women and 200 units of free electricity.

Though Arvind Kejriwal tried to modify his narrative to look more middle-class-oriented in his campaign speeches, it may be too little, too late.

The BJP, by implementing the rather intensive outreach programs and interactions with RWAs (Resident Welfare Associations), also succeeded in capturing the middle-class vote. The party’s appeal was further fortified through the significant tax relief given in the Union Budget.

While definitions of the middle class vary, a 2022 report by the People Research on India’s Consumer Economy states that this demographic constitutes 67.16% of Delhi’s population. The BJP’s successful engagement with this group appears to have yielded strong electoral gains.

2. Assurance That AAP Welfare Schemes Will Continue

Although criticisms against welfare programs earlier had branded them as revadis or freebies, BJP was careful enough to reassure voters in Delhi that it would not withdraw the welfare schemes introduced by AAP if voted to power.

It made the announcement when Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself said, “AAP is spreading lies that BJP winning the elections would cut benefits given to the underprivileged.”.

By promising to preserve these schemes and also talking about issues such as Hindu pride and national identity, the BJP was an AAP-plus alternative: welfare with its own ideological messaging.

3. Bad Infrastructure: Roads and Sewers

One of the most significant reasons for frustration among Delhi residents has been the degrading state of roads, sewers, and garbage disposal. Over-flowing drains, potholes, and erratic waste management had people upset.

Since AAP also manages the MCD, it was not possible for it to deflect the issue at hand toward BJP or even Lieutenant Governor.

A senior AAP leader admitted, “We could not improve roads or ensure better garbage management… In gated colonies and middle- and upper-middle-class areas, the poor condition of the roads has emerged as a significant issue.”

Another AAP leader acknowledged, “Poor roads, cleanliness and overflowing sewers are usually associated with unauthorised colonies but over the past two years have become a pan-Delhi problem.”

4. The Continuous LG-AAP Conflict

The AAP has consistently blamed the Lt Governor, who possesses a very significant amount of power in Delhi, for causing the delay in the civic work and infrastructure projects. However, prolonged tension between the state government and the LG’s office seems to have frustrated the voters.

Many seemed to decide that a BJP-led government would function much better in coordination with the Centre-appointed LG. This fits the BJP’s double-engine government narrative, which states that the same party running the Centre and the local administration makes things go much smoother.

5. Anti-Incumbency Sentiment

AAP has been in power in Delhi since 2015, and its decade-long rule has led to natural voter fatigue. The party’s recognition of anti-incumbency was evident in its last-minute candidate replacements, but these adjustments were not enough to counter dissatisfaction with certain MLAs, who were seen as unresponsive and disconnected from their constituencies.

While AAP’s governance had brought the party many significant victories in the past, it seems that the present election is different, and the voters were seeking a change in leadership.

Arvind Kejriwal and key AAP leaders are trailing. Congress remains without a win, as early trends indicate a tough contest.
</excerpt>

The website of the Election Commission of India shows that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 46 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is ahead in 24, and Congress is yet to secure a seat. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who was initially leading in early trends, is now trailing behind BJP’s Parvesh Verma.

Delhi Assembly Election Results 2025

The counting of votes for all 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections started at 8 AM on Saturday. The contest is mainly between the ruling AAP and the BJP, which has been in opposition since 1998. However, Congress could disrupt the political equation with some unexpected gains.

Key Highlights from Election Trends:

Early trends indicate BJP leading, followed by AAP, while Congress remains behind. AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal (New Delhi constituency), Manish Sisodia (Jangpura), and Atishi (Kalkaji) are all trailing. Congress candidates Sandeep Dikshit (New Delhi) and Alka Lamba (Kalkaji) are also behind. On the other hand, BJP’s Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar) and Kailash Gahlot (Bijwasan) are leading in their respective constituencies.

Exit Poll Predictions

Most exit polls anticipated a close race, with the BJP having a slight advantage in both seats and vote share. In 2013, AAP formed a government with Congress’s external support after winning 28 seats, but the government lasted only 49 days. In 2015, AAP secured a sweeping victory with 67 out of 70 seats, and in 2020, it retained power with 62 seats, while BJP won the remaining eight. Once again, Congress failed to win even a single seat.

Party-wise Seat Distribution

AAP and Congress have contested candidates in all 70 constituencies, while BJP contested 68 seats, leaving two for its allies—Janata Dal (United) and Loktantrik Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). In the race are 699 candidates, with 603 male, 95 female, and one third-gender contestant. The voting turnout is reported to be 60.5% with 9,451,997 electors casting their votes on February 5 out of 15,614,000.

Get the latest Delhi Election Results, including key constituencies such as New Delhi, Kalkaji, Jangpura, Okhla, Patparganj, Ballimaran, Madipur, Hari Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, Tri Nagar, Sultanpur Majra, Wazirpur, and Gandhi Nagar.

This ban applies to the Delhi Assembly election and bypolls in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The notification was issued on January 22 and aims to prevent any exit poll results from being shared during voting hours.

Political Campaigning Heats Up

As the election approaches, political parties have intensified their campaigning. On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, calling it a “disaster” over the past eleven years. He assured voters that if the BJP wins, no slums would be demolished, and welfare schemes would continue.

A Three-Way Contest

Modi also urged voters not to give AAP another chance, fearing more wasted years. The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, with vote counting set for February 8. The election will see a triangular contest between BJP, Congress, and AAP.

Eight AAP MLAs resigned on Friday after being denied tickets for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The election is scheduled for February 5, with vote counting taking place on February 8. AAP is contesting all 70 seats in Delhi, but, notably, the party dropped 20 sitting MLAs and replaced them with candidates from BJP and Congress.

The Resigning Legislators

Girish Soni (Madipur): Soni expressed his discontent, criticizing the party’s direction. He posted, “Being shocked by all these issues, today I am resigning from all the responsibilities of Aam Aadmi Party and from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party.” Clearly, he was upset by the internal activities within the party.

Rohit Kumar Mehraulia (Trilokpuri): Mehraulia also resigned, citing unfulfilled promises to uplift the Dalit/Valmiki community. He accused the party of exploiting his community for political gain and failing to address issues such as employment. Consequently, he felt disillusioned with AAP.

Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar): Lal resigned after AAP denied him a ticket for the upcoming election. He openly expressed that he had lost faith in both AAP and Arvind Kejriwal, signaling his frustration with the party’s decisions.

Bhavna Gaur (Palam): Gaur, too, resigned, stating that she had lost trust in both Arvind Kejriwal and the party itself. In her resignation letter, shared on X, she reflected on her disillusionment with the party’s leadership.

Rajesh Rishi (Janakpuri): Rishi was another legislator who chose to resign, accusing AAP of abandoning its core values. He criticized the party for straying from its founding principles of corruption-free governance, transparency, and accountability. This, in turn, led to his resignation from all party positions.

Pawan Kumar Sharma (Adarsh Nagar): Sharma also resigned, expressing disappointment over the party’s shift from its original honest ideology. He said, “I am very sad to see the plight of The Aam Aadmi Party. Please accept my resignation.”

BS Joon (Bijwasan): Joon resigned due to the party’s increasing deviation from its core values. He criticized the growing centralization and the lack of internal democracy within AAP.

Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli): Yadav’s resignation stemmed from what he called the party’s corruption. He recalled AAP’s origins in Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement and expressed regret that the party had not lived up to its original goals of eliminating corruption.

Overall, these resignations reflect mounting dissatisfaction within the party. Many leaders are feeling sidelined and disillusioned with Kejriwal’s leadership, which has sparked frustrations about the direction in which AAP is heading.

</excerpt>

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Kalkaji assembly constituency, Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday expressed regret over his controversial remarks about Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra amid Congress outrage.

Bidhuri clarified that his comments were made in the context of remarks by Lalu Yadav and emphasized that the Congress party had remained silent when similar statements were made during his tenure as a minister.

This came following a video of Bhiduri shared by AAP MP Sanjay Singh on X, where he stated that they would make all the roads in Kalkaji like the “cheeks of Priyanka Gandhi” if BJP comes to power.

Ramesh Bidhuri, courted controversy by allegedly saying that after victory in the Delhi Assembly polls next month, he will develop smooth roads in the constituency like Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s “cheeks”. “I assure you that just as we made the roads in Okhla
and Sangam Vihar, we will make all the roads in Kalkaji like Priyanka Gandhi’s cheeks,” Bidhuri is heard saying in the purported video, which went viral on social media.

“Such statements have been made before. I have said that in the context of what Lalu Yadav had said.Congress remained silent on that even when he (Lalu Yadav) was a minister in their govt. If anyone is hurt by my remark, I express regret over it and I take my words back,” the BJP leader said.

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate on Sunday strongly criticised the BJP candidate from Kalkaji for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls, Ramesh Bidhuri, over his recent comment on Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, terming the remark as “shameful,” and accused the BJP of fostering an antiwomen mindset.

Taking to X, Shrinate said that Bidhuri’s statement against Congress Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, was not only shameful but also shows his “disgusting” mentality towards women.
Congress candidate from Kalkaji and Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba lashed out at Bidhuri and accused him of “insulting” women once again in his “usual indecent language”.
“Will the public in Kalkaji have such (a person) who cares neither for the dignity of the House (Parliament) nor respects the women,” she said in a post on X.

However, Sachdeva criticized the Congress for its “double standards,” pointing out that the party remains silent when similar comments are made about BJP MP Hema Malini.”I have not heard Ramesh Bidhuri’s full statement,but women have a special contribution in society and we should respect them, any such comment should be avoided. But Congress will also have to give up its double standards. When any statement comes about our MP Hema Malini, they clap… But I still say that no one should even think of insulting women,” he said.

</excerpt>

On Wednesday Delhi chief minister Atishi attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Delhi polls Parvesh Verma of distributing money in the New Delhi assembly constituency. The MP from West Delhi was allegedly seen doing this.

Atishi also claimed that BJP leader and former two-time MP from West Delhi, Parvesh Verma, was “caught distributing money” at his official residence. “The BJP is distributing money to people by checking their voter cards in the New Delhi assembly constituency, from where Arvind Kejriwal contests elections. Today, Parvesh Verma was caught red-handed giving out money at his official residence, which he received as an MP. Women from various slums in the New Delhi assembly constituency were called there and given Rs 1,100 in an envelope,” CM Atishi said in a press conference.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma on Wednesday denied Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s allegations that the BJP was “distributing cash to voters” in AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s constituency, saying that he was “happy” that he was not distributing liquor as Kejriwal did in Delhi.

“Yesterday, I saw Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet, and today I heard the press conference of Delhi’s temporary Chief Minister. AAP MP Sanjay Singh is also roaming around my house. Rashtriya Swabhiman Sansthan, started by my father around 25 years ago, has been helping people and has redeveloped two villages devastated by an earthquake in Gujarat and four villages in Odisha destroyed by a cyclone,” Verma told reporters.

He added that the organisation spent crores of rupees saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing oxygen concentrators and opening a care centre in West Delhi. “Today, I feel very good that Atishi ji and Kejriwal ji are appreciating the work we are doing. I have witnessed the misery of women here, which Kejriwal ji could not see in the last 11 years. When I met them, they told me they neither have pensions nor ration cards, jobs, or access to medical facilities. I decided that my organisation would create a scheme to help them on a monthly basis,” he said.

“I am happy about one thing: at least I am not distributing liquor, which the Chief Minister of Delhi (Arvind Kejriwal) was distributing all over Delhi,” he added. Following notices issued by senior officials of the Delhi government disavowing the Aam Aadmi Party’s registration process for two schemes in the national capital, Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP of distributing money to voters in the New Delhi assembly constituency, where Arvind Kejriwal contests elections.

Following notices issued by senior officials of the Delhi government disavowing the Aam Aadmi Party’s registration process for two of its schemes in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of distributing money to voters in the New Delhi assembly constituency, where Arvind Kejriwal contests elections.

Atishi alleged that crores of rupees are in Parvesh Verma’s house and urged the Election Commission to instruct the ED and Delhi Police to raid Verma’s official residence and arrest him.

“I want to inform the ED and CBI that cash worth crores of rupees is still at Parvesh Verma’s house. I urge the Election Commission to have the ED and Delhi Police raid his official residence and arrest him immediately. The BJP is trying to win a lost election. We will officially lodge a complaint with the police and the Election Commission. The pamphlet used for distributing money also features pictures of PM Modi and JP Nadda,” she said.

This comes after several newspapers today published a public notice issued by a joint director in the Department of Women and Child Development, which termed the Mahila Samman Yojana as “non-existent.” The department stated that no such scheme has been officially notified. In the public notice, the Women and Child Development Department confirmed that any private individual or political party collecting information from citizens through forms and registration processes in the name of the Mahila Samman Yojana is “committing fraud.”

“It is clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government,” the Women and Child Development Department stated in the notice. Additionally, a public notice by the special secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department indicated that there is no scheme to provide free treatment for Delhi’s residents aged over 60 at private and government hospitals.

The health department explicitly stated that it does not have any such “supposed Sanjeevani scheme” in existence and has not authorized anyone to collect personal data from elderly citizens, nor is it providing any cards. The notice described these promises as fraudulent, noting that people have begun visiting government hospitals and offices to inquire about the nonexistent scheme.

Women from various slums in the New Delhi constituency were called there and given Rs 1,100 in an envelope,” Atishi said at a press conference. She alleged that crores of rupees were in Verma’s house and urged the Election Commission to instruct the ED and Delhi Police to raid Verma’s official residence and arrest him.

</excerpt>

Out of seven promises Aam Aadmi’s Party has made ahead of the Delhi polls 2025, the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ under which women were going to get monthly Rs 2,100 from the government has invited ire of the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department.

Delhi WCD has issued a clarification regarding the announcement by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. The department stated that no such scheme has been officially notified.

In a public notice, the Women and Child Development Department confirmed that any private individual or political party involved in collecting information from citizens through forms and registration processes in the name of the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ is “committing fraud.”

“It is clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government,” the Women and Child Development Department said in the notice published in national newspapers on Wednesday.
“It is emphasised that since no such Scheme is in existence, the question of acceptance of the form/application for registration under this non-existent Scheme does not arise. Any private person/political party who is collecting forms/applications or collecting information from applicants in the name of this scheme is committing fraud and has no authority,” the notice added.
The government department also cautioned citizens about the risks of sharing personal details, such as bank account information, voter ID cards, and phone numbers, which could result in privacy breaches and data leaks.

The notice further read, “The general citizens of Delhi are advised not to fall for the false promises of this non-existent scheme as these are misleading and don’t have any authority. The general public is also requested to exercise caution in providing personal details to any unauthorised person to avoid any fraud or data breach in future.”
The clarification follows a statement by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, in which he claimed that registration for the ‘Mahila Samman Scheme,’ which promises Rs 2,100 per month for women in Delhi, would begin on December 23.

“You don’t have to form a queue anywhere. We will come to you (for the registration process). We have formed teams across Delhi. We will help the women register for the scheme and provide them with cards,” Kejriwal said in a press conference.

The BJP slammed Kejriwal after the Delhi Government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department stated that no welfare scheme announced by Kejriwal for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections had been officially notified.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of misleading the public and committing ‘digital fraud’ by promoting a non-existent scheme. Sachdeva said, “Arvind Kejriwal is leading the people of Delhi towards digital fraud. There is an AAP government in Delhi, and their own department is issuing a warning to the public that no such scheme exists. Arvind Kejriwal is cheating the people of Delhi. This is Atishi vs Arvind Kejriwal.”

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra accused Arvind Kejriwal and his leaders of continuously lying to the people of Delhi. “They promised 500 schools in 2015, but did not open…20 hospitals and 20 colleges were promised, that too has been proven false. Recently, 2.5 years ago, the mothers and sisters of Punjab were told that they would be given Rs 1000 before the Punjab elections. Till date, Rs 1000 has not come to their accounts. Similarly, in Delhi also, there is a mention of Rs 1000 in their cabinet note. They did not pass it. They should call a special session to pass it and implement it, but they have not implemented it because no provision has been made in the budget. People are being cheated again. Everything has become online. If they have to do it, they should inform about the scheme on the Delhi government website and get people to fill out forms online. Although they first said Rs 1000 and then put up a board of Rs 2100. If someone has to get Rs 1000 in their account, then their account number should be taken in a secure way on the Delhi government website and not on the physical form. That will be a big fraud, a cyber-fraud too,” Malhotra said.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa targeted the AAP Chief and said that Arvind Kejriwal is a “big fraud.”

“While he was getting forms filled out, his department (Delhi govt’s Women and Child Development) clarified that there is no such scheme to give an allowance of Rs 2,100. Those getting forms filled for the scheme are private people who are doing so to collect data illegally,” Sirsa added.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat said, “If a government employee starts collecting forms, it means that budget provision has been made for the scheme. But it is clear how the Delhi government has made a joke out of the entire system. In the last 10 years, they have never implemented any schemes.”

Earlier today, the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department issued a clarification regarding the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ announced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. The department stated that no such scheme has been officially notified.

“It is clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government,” the department said in the notice published in national newspapers on Wednesday.

</excerpt>

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have trained all guns for the upcoming Delhi polls in 2025. Freebies are just one of them. Today, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal has unveiled five pre-poll guarantees aimed at benefiting the city’s auto-rickshaw drivers. These promises encompass life and accident insurance, financial assistance for daughters’ marriages, uniform allowances, educational support for children, and the revival of the “Ask App.”

Kejriwal detailed these commitments in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

Insurance Coverage: “Life insurance up to Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance up to Rs five lakh for each driver.”

Marriage Assistance: “Rs one lakh assistance for daughter’s marriage.”

Uniform Allowance: “Rs 2,500 twice a year for uniform.”

Educational Support: The government will bear the cost of coaching for children of auto-rickshaw drivers to prepare for competitive exams.

Technology Initiative: The “Ask App” will be restarted to facilitate better communication and services.

Emphasising his longstanding support for the auto-rickshaw community, Kejriwal remarked, “We stood with them before and will continue to stand with them in the future too.”

Addressing the public, he elaborated on the guarantees:

“I am announcing five things for auto drivers today which will be implemented when we come to power in Delhi again in February. First, we will give Rs one lakh on the wedding of the daughter of an auto-driver. Rs 2,500 each will be given on Diwali and Holi to auto drivers to get their uniforms made. We will give Rs 10 lakh life insurance and Rs 5 lakh accident insurance to each auto-driver. The government will give fees for competitive exam studies of children of auto drivers.”

Demonstrating his connection with the community, the AAP National Convenor visited Kondali and had lunch at the residence of an auto-driver. Reflecting on the party’s early days, Kejriwal shared a photo of himself and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia pasting the party’s poster on an auto-rickshaw, stating, “This is a very old picture. When we had just started the party. Manish and I used to paste posters on the back of every auto. Since then, auto drivers have always supported us.”

In related developments, AAP released its second list of candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections. Notably, Manish Sisodia’s constituency has been changed from Patparganj to Jangpura, with Awadh Ojha now contesting from Patparganj.

Additionally, the AAP women’s wing is organizing small-scale meetings across all 70 constituencies to engage directly with women and highlight the welfare schemes provided by the AAP-led Delhi government.

Also read: TMC Leader Kalyan Banerjee Chides Rahul Gandhi, Says He Should Let Mamata Lead I.N.D.I.A.

The Delhi Assembly elections are anticipated to be held in early 2025. In the 2020 assembly elections, AAP secured 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP won eight seats.

</excerpt>

Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot recently stirred political discourse by declaring himself the “Hanuman” of Arvind Kejriwal, vowing to complete all pending work and ensure Kejriwal’s return as Chief Minister. Gahlot drew a parallel between his role and Hindu epic characters, likening Kejriwal to Lord Ram. He defended this analogy, responding to criticism by likening the situation to Bharat stepping in for Ram during his exile, accusing BJP of disrespecting Indian traditions.

He further says, “The scheme to give Rs 1,000 every month to women above 18 years of age will be implemented in Delhi before the Assembly elections and budget for it has already been allocated…”

Gahlot also emphasized that the AAP government will implement a scheme providing Rs 1,000 per month to all women aged 18 and above in Delhi. This initiative is part of their campaign strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections, with budget allocations already secured. His commitment to this policy reflects AAP’s focus on welfare programs aimed at women’s empowerment ahead of the 2025 elections.

The AAP’s broader strategy appears to rest on aligning itself with cultural symbols and delivering populist measures to ensure electoral success, a trend seen in Gahlot’s statements and Atishi’s invocation of Hanuman’s blessings.
