The move comes amid political echoes of the ‘sheeshmahal’ row involving former CM Arvind Kejriwal.
</excerpt>

The Public Works Department (PWD) has suspended a ₹60 lakh tender for renovation work at Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s official house. Officials suspended the tender for “administrative reasons” just three days before it was scheduled to be opened.

The cancelled tender had big electrical refurbishments like the installation of 14 air conditioners, 14 televisions for ₹9 lakh, and lighting worth ₹6 lakh. The tender was controversial for its timing and content, particularly as the political storm over the price of the former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence raged on.

CM Rekha Gupta Waited 100 Days for Official Residence by PWD

The government formally allotted an official bungalow to Rekha Gupta, a debut MLA and BJP’s surprise Chief Ministerial candidate, nearly 100 days after her February landslide win.. In early June, the government finally allotted her the adjacent properties on Raj Niwas Marg in Civil Lines, Delhi.

Gupta also refused to shift to the same Civil Lines bungalow previously occupied by former CM Kejriwal, which had become politically tainted. The BJP had called that house a “sheeshmahal”, blaming Kejriwal for squandering crores of taxpayers’ money on lavish revamps.

BJP Distances Itself from Kejriwal’s ‘Sheeshmahal’ Legacy

That home, which consolidated four government-owned lots to cover more than 40,000 square yards, was Kejriwal’s official residence between 2015 and his October 2024 resignation by PWD. A report from the Central Public Works Department, published that month, showed high-end appliances and lavish upgrades, prompting a federal investigation into suspected financial improprieties.

CM Rekha Gupta announced upon assuming office that she would convert the embattled bungalow into a museum.

Though the BJP has gone on to criticize Kejriwal on the issue of extravagance, the AAP and Mr. Kejriwal have not so far said anything about the scrapped tender for Ms. Gupta’s new residence. The cancellation could be a political gesture to create contrast with the past government, particularly in the wake of voter outrage against the ‘sheeshmahal’ controversy and the liquor policy scandal that had gone so badly against the AAP’s interests.

</excerpt>

The current BJP President JP Nadda is currently on an extension and his successor should be announced anytime soon. While it is correct that in the Modi-Shah era no one knows who the next BJP Chief would be, there are some names that are doing the rounds. However it would be a futile exercise to name the successor, one can take a look at the optics and the kind of messaging the BJP would like to send out when it appoints its next chief.
First, it will probably not be a woman. Though the women have emerged as a very influential vote bank, the BJP took care of the gender equation by appointing its first women chief minister when Rekha Gupta took oath as the Delhi Chief Minister. Prior to this, the BJP didn’t have a single woman chief minister.

Given the focus on the south and the fact that the Modi impact is still to comprehensively cross the Dravidian divide, the next party chief could be from the South. More so since the Congress has a Dailt from Karnataka as its party chief. Which brings us to the next optic – an OBC candidate. This again is a section that the BJP is aggressively pursuing, specially after Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc harping on the caste census. Of course the Prime Minister himself is an OBC which does take away from the Congress narrative that the BJP is an upper class dominated party.

The RSS will also have a say in the final decision. Which means the candidate must have a Sangh connect. The names that are doing the rounds, all have a RSS background. So it will be one of the other factors that will play a decisive role.
The decision is expected soon and if the candidate is a Union Cabinet minister, then this could also lead to a reshuffle, though JP Nadda has been holding both posts. But whoever the candidate will be, it will still be Home Minister Amit Shah who will be doing most of the heavy lifting, from membership drives, organizational handling to election strategizing. That is just the way the BJP runs.

Rekha Gupta Replies

“The Congress ruled for 15 years, and the AAP ruled for 13. Instead of looking at what they did, how can they raise questions on one day of ours?… We had a cabinet meeting on day 1, immediately after taking the oath, and we cleared the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which was blocked by AAP. We gave a benefit of Rs. 10 lakhs to the people of Delhi on the first day,” says the CM Rekha Gupta.

“They should look after their party; there are many people who want to leave,” Delhi CM Rekha Gupta slams opposition

Adding on to that, the Chief Minister says, “They don’t have any right to question us… We will worry about Delhi now, and Delhi will get its rights under the leadership of PM Modi… They should look after their party; many people want to leave… They are worried that when the CAG report will be tabled in the House, records of a lot of people would be exposed.”

Allegations of Atishi

In a Press conference, Atishi said, “BJP had promised the women of Delhi that in the first cabinet meeting itself, they would pass the scheme in which women of Delhi would be getting ₹2,500. The new CM Rekha Gupta and her cabinet ministers took oath. In the evening, at 7 pm, the first cabinet meeting took place.”

“All the women of Delhi were expecting that scheme to be passed…On the first day itself, the BJP started breaking their promises…they did not pass the scheme…BJP has made up their mind to cheat people of Delhi,” she added.

Dr. Gupta won 45 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly Elections, which led to the party’s glorious triumph.
Bio Change Ceremony

Following her oath as the newly elected Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta changed her profile picture on her X handle (formerly Twitter) and also her bio from ‘MLA Shalimarbagh Vidhansabha, National Vice President, BJP MM, Former DUSU President, Founder- AAS Foundation ? Blessed, Followed by PM Narendra Modi Ji’ to ‘Chief Minister of Delhi‘.

In-between the changes, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta lost her Blue Tick on X which she previously had. The reason behind this chaos can be the X’s policy that when someone changes their profile picture, they lose their blue tick from the platform, to restore it, the person concerned should subscribe to Twitter Blue by paying the associated fees.

Social Media Following

Following Gupta’s oath ceremony, her followers on the social media platform, Instagram started to increase by the minute. Previously she has 23k followers whereas as per today, it grew to 71.2k followers. Comparing these stats to her X followers count, previously she had 53.9k and after taking her oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, her followers are

Upon taking on the heavy and shining responsibility of being the Chief Minister of the National Capital, Rekha Gupta made several promises which includes, better healthcare facilities, women empowerment, more environmental protection reforms, and better education facilities. Rekha Gupta and the ministers went to attend the Yamuna Aarti at the Vasudev Ghat in Delhi on February 20, 2025.

Atishi Marlena (Interim)- AAP, 2024-2025

Atishi Marlena was the 3rd woman CM of Delhi and the youngest of them all at the age of 43. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi took the oath on September 21, 2024. Atishi has a strong educational background as an Oxford University graduate. During her tenure, she advocated for student and women’s rights.

The main highlight of her tenure is her work in the educational background of Delhi, as she worked for the betterment of Delhi’s Public School system. Atishi introduced various programs for better teacher training so that the teachers ensure better education qualities for the students.

Arvind Kejriwal served as the Chief Minister of Delhi for one year. AAP made a massive comeback in the 2015 state assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal focused on hospitals and educational reforms. He worked for the betterment of Delhi citizens by providing free electricity to all, and he worked on women’s empowerment by providing free bus service.

President’s Rule – 2014-15

Following Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, the capital was left under President’s rule for a year.

Sheila Dikshit – Congress, 1998-2013

Sheila Dikshit of the Indian National Congress (INC) was the longest-serving Chief minister of Delhi. She focused on significant development in the infrastructure of the capital, including the improvement and betterment of the public transport system (mainly the Delhi Metro) and the 2010 Commonwealth Games preparations.

Sushma Swaraj – BJP, October 1998- December 1998

Sushma Swaraj of the Bhartiya Janata Party was the Chief Minister for a brief period. Swaraj focused on the city’s governance, including public infrastructure, women’s safety and health. However, her tenure was cut short due to internal issues within the BJP and the party’s inability to maintain a majority in the Delhi Assembly. As a result of the internal conflict, Sushma Swaraj resigned from the position, and the capital went under the President’s rule for a brief period.

Sahib Singh Verma – BJP, 1996-98

</excerpt>

In a rare commendation, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena lauded Chief Minister Atishi, stating she is “a thousand times better” than her predecessor, Arvind Kejriwal. This unexpected praise comes amid a backdrop of political shifts and administrative challenges in the national capital.

Atishi’s Ascension to Chief Minister

Atishi, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), assumed the role of Delhi’s Chief Minister on September 21, 2024. Her appointment followed the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, who stepped down to address allegations related to the excise policy case. Kejriwal’s resignation was seen as a strategic move to uphold his party’s integrity and focus on clearing his name.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at Raj Niwas, was a subdued affair, reflecting the somber mood within the party due to Kejriwal’s departure. Atishi was administered the oath of office by LG VK Saxena, marking her as Delhi’s third woman Chief Minister, following in the footsteps of Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. In her inaugural address, Atishi expressed deep respect for Kejriwal, referring to him as her “guru” and pledging to continue his vision for Delhi.

Lieutenant Governor’s Unprecedented Praise

The LG’s commendation of Atishi is particularly noteworthy given the historically strained relations between the Delhi government and the LG’s office. Saxena’s statement that Atishi is “a thousand times better” than Kejriwal suggests a potential shift towards a more collaborative governance model in Delhi. This praise underscores Atishi’s administrative capabilities and her potential to lead Delhi effectively.

Atishi’s Background and Vision

An Oxford University alumna and Rhodes Scholar, Atishi has been a key figure in Delhi’s education reforms. As an advisor to the education department under Kejriwal’s leadership, she played a pivotal role in transforming the city’s public education system, earning widespread acclaim for her efforts. Her tenure as Education Minister further solidified her reputation as a dedicated and effective administrator.

Upon taking office as Chief Minister, Atishi outlined her priorities, emphasizing the continuation of welfare schemes initiated by the AAP government. She highlighted the importance of improving public health infrastructure, enhancing education quality, and addressing environmental concerns, particularly air pollution—a perennial issue in Delhi. Atishi also expressed a commitment to fostering a transparent and accountable government, aiming to build trust between the administration and Delhi’s residents.

Political Implications and Future Prospects

The LG’s endorsement of Atishi may have significant political ramifications. It could signal a period of reduced friction between the Delhi government and the central authorities, potentially facilitating smoother implementation of policies and projects. This development might also influence public perception, bolstering Atishi’s standing ahead of the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for early next year.

However, challenges remain. Atishi’s administration must navigate the complexities of Delhi’s unique governance structure, where the LG holds substantial authority. Balancing this dynamic while delivering on her policy promises will be crucial for her tenure’s success.

Reactions to the LG’s praise have been mixed. AAP supporters view it as validation of Atishi’s leadership qualities and a positive omen for Delhi’s future. Conversely, critics argue that such endorsements should be measured against tangible outcomes and caution against premature conclusions.

Political analysts suggest that this development could alter the power dynamics within Delhi’s political landscape. A more harmonious relationship between the Chief Minister and the LG could lead to expedited policy implementations, benefiting the city’s populace.

Also read: Supreme Court Orders Delhi to Establish Checkpoints at All 113 Entry Points

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s rare and emphatic praise of Chief Minister Atishi marks a significant moment in Delhi’s political narrative. As Atishi embarks on her tenure, this endorsement may pave the way for a more collaborative and effective governance model in the capital. The coming months will reveal how this newfound rapport translates into policy actions and impacts the lives of Delhi’s residents.

Their portfolios are anticipated to focus on critical areas such as health, education, and urban development, reflecting the party’s agenda to improve the quality of life for Delhi’s citizens.

AAP names Atishi as his successor while Kejriwal calls for early elections to seek the public’s mandate.
</excerpt>

Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor, submitted his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister to Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday. This resignation comes just two days after he announced his intention to step down. Following this, AAP leader Atishi was named as his successor for the Chief Minister’s role.

Kejriwal’s decision to resign came shortly after he was released from jail, where he had been held for over five months in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. In a surprising move, Kejriwal called for early elections in the national capital, stating that he would only return to the Chief Minister’s chair if the people of Delhi re-elected him. “Two days later, I will resign as Chief Minister. I will not sit on that chair till the people announce their verdict. Elections in Delhi are months away. I got justice from the legal court, now I will get justice from the people’s court. I will sit on the Chief Minister’s chair only after the order of the people,” said Kejriwal.

AAP Minister Gopal Rai confirmed that Kejriwal has submitted his resignation and emphasized the party’s commitment to the public’s mandate. The AAP praised Kejriwal’s decision, with Minister Aman Arora stating, “Arvind Kejriwal has established a new chapter of accountability today…In a democracy, the public’s mandate is supreme and he has decided again to go among the public…BJP tried a lot to break the Aam Aadmi Party but they were unsuccessful to do so…If there is any truth in BJP’s allegations they should call early elections in October and let the people decide who is honest and dishonest….For AAP, ethics are more important than the Chief Minister’s chair.”

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) referred to Kejriwal’s resignation as a “PR stunt.” BJP leader Manoj Tiwari commented, “This resignation of Kejriwal is just an eyewash. After the bail conditions, Kejriwal anyhow couldn’t function as CM. The damage that Kejriwal has done to Delhi is beyond repair. For Kejriwal, his ego is of prime importance.” Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva added, “This so-called ‘two-day leave request’ is nothing but a smart act of transferring assets. Rather than this drama, Kejriwal should have sacked his Cabinet and addressed the corruption allegations against his government.” Sachdeva also criticized Kejriwal’s administration on various issues, including waterlogging, electricity tariffs, and the availability of healthcare and medicines, blaming the government for corruption.

Kejriwal’s resignation and call for early elections mark a significant development in Delhi’s political landscape, with the AAP and BJP presenting contrasting narratives on his decision and its implications.

</excerpt>

With Arvind Kejriwal expected to resign as Delhi Chief Minister, the selection of his successor will be decided at the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) legislative meeting on Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. at the Chief Minister’s residence.

When Kejriwal meets Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday to submit his resignation, the newly chosen leader of the legislative party will simultaneously stake a claim for the Chief Minister’s position. AAP leader Sandeep Pathak commented, “The next Chief Minister of Delhi will be decided within the next 1-2 days. A legislative party meeting will select one… Arvind Kejriwal is not drawn to power; he values his honour the most.”

Earlier today, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, along with leaders Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kailash Gehlot, and Atishi, arrived at Kejriwal’s residence for the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting.

Kejriwal announced on Sunday his intention to resign and stated he would not assume the Chief Minister’s chair until the people of Delhi declare him “honest.” He has called for advancing the elections in Delhi to November this year, instead of the scheduled February elections. Kejriwal added that if re-elected by the public, it would serve as a “certificate” of his honesty and that he would advocate for early elections, alongside those in Maharashtra.

</excerpt>

The Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi on Wednesday rejected the petition filed by the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, requesting an increase in the number of legal consultations with his lawyers from two to five times a week. The court noted that the Chief Minister had utilized the allocated time for purposes other than legal discussions.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued the order, stating that Arvind Kejriwal, the applicant, did not demonstrate to the court’s satisfaction that he had been utilizing the two allowed legal meetings per week solely for discussing ongoing legal matters with his attorneys.

According to the status report submitted by the investigating agency, it was revealed that the applicant had provided specific instructions to be conveyed to the Water Minister through one of his attorneys (whose identity he declined to disclose to the investigating agency) during a legal consultation.

While presenting arguments in the case, ED Counsel Zoheb Hossain, along with Naveen Kumar Matta and Simon Benjamin, contended that the relief requested by the Accused/Applicant through the application under review is inconsistent with the rules and provisions, and therefore cannot be sanctioned. They emphasized that the applicant is not entitled to any preferential treatment.

The court observed that the status report, which was presented to the High Court of Delhi and is under investigation, was also presented before this court during the arguments. It was highlighted that the legal meeting was being misused by the applicant for purposes beyond its intended scope, as evidenced by the aforementioned note. It was argued that the applicant had instructed his lawyer during a legal interview to convey specific directions to the Water Minister.

Advocates Vivek Jain and Mohd Irshad represented Arvind Kejriwal and asserted that he is involved in numerous legal disputes across various states of India, including Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Assam, and Delhi. They emphasized that the applicant needs consultations with lawyers to provide suitable instructions for contesting these litigations.

Kejriwal’s legal representatives also argued that due to the considerable number of cases being contested by the applicant and the extensive examination of documents required, longer discussions with counsel are necessary. They therefore requested that the Accused/Applicant be allowed to have five weekly meetings with his lawyers to discuss and strategize various pending litigations effectively before the respective courts spanning multiple jurisdictions.

The Delhi High Court affirmed the legality of Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an Excise Case on Tuesday, citing his repeated failure to comply with summons over a six-month period as a contributing factor.

The court stated that had Kejriwal participated in the investigation following the issuance of summons under Section 50 of PMLA, he could have provided his account to the investigating agency regarding the collected material.

Kejriwal was apprehended by the ED on March 21 in connection with the excise policy case.

On April 1, the trial court ordered Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody until April 15. The ED asserted that the Aam Adami Party (AAP) is the primary beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the purported liquor scam.

</excerpt>

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, as well as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will attend Kerala’s anti-Centre rally in Delhi on Thursday, led by CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
The major agitation will take place in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in protest of the Centre’s claimed discrimination against Kerala.
The demonstration will include state ministers, legislators, and parliamentarians. DMK Minister P Thiaga Rajan will represent the DMK after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin approved Vijayan’s demonstrations.

LDF convenor EP Jayarajan asserted that they are raising people’s demands through the mega agitation.

“We are raising the people’s demands. Yesterday it was Karnataka, today it is Kerala, tomorrow other states will also come,” Jayarajan said.
Speaking on the protest, Kerala MLA K K Shailaja said, “Without getting proper tax share and funds from Central government, the state cannot sustain. They are not allowing us to borrow money also. Central govt is implementing some rules, especially for Kerala lowering the borrowing limit.”
“Karnataka CM yesterday expressed his solidarity with us,” she added.
Announcing the protest earlier through a press conference on Wednesday, CM Vijayan said, “We have had to resort to such an unprecedented struggle, as it is essential for Kerala’s survival and advancement.”

According to Vijayan, the agitation is not just designed to protect Kerala’s constitutional rights, but also those of all states.

“This agitation is intended to safeguard the constitutional rights of all states, not merely Kerala’s. The aim of this struggle is not to triumph over anyone, but to secure what we rightfully deserve instead of surrendering. We believe that the entire country will stand with Kerala in support of this protest,” the Chief Minister said.

The Kerala Chief Minister alleged that the national government prioritizes states led by the Bharatiya Janata Party or the National Democratic Alliance.

“The BJP governs independently or in coalition with other parties in 17 states. The Central Government appears to solely favour these 17 states, while neglecting those not aligned with the NDA,” Vijayan said.

The Chief Minister claimed that it is unconstitutional for the central government to set the borrowing limits of the states.

“The central government has no constitutional authority to determine the borrowing limits of the states. These measures, deemed unconstitutional and contrary to the recommendations of the Finance Commission, have been implemented through the exercise of powers lacking legal standing,” he said.

The comments of the SAD leader comes a day after the special court CBI on Monday, granted days remand of Sisodia to the central probe agency till March 4, to interrogate him in connection with the excise policy.

Majithia recently took to his social media handle twitter and penned, “CBI inquiry into Delhi excise scam should be extended to Punjab. As in the case of Delhi, Deputy CM @msisodia was the architect of the Punjab excise policy also which caused losses of hundreds of crores to the State exchequer.”

</excerpt>

The CBI on Sunday, February 26, arrested Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy case after approximate 8 hours of questioning.

Prior to reaching the office of CBI, the Deputy Chief Minister, Sisodia stated that false cases are being lodged against leaders of the ruling party as PM Modi was “afraid,” of Delhi’s CM, Kejriwal.

“Conspiracies are being hatched by the CBI and ED and false cases being lodged against our party leaders because PM Narendra Modi is afraid of CM Arvind Kejriwal’s rising popularity. As AAP grows further, BJP will continue to slap false cases on us. We are not afraid of the CBI, ED and their false cases,” Sisodia said.

He furthermore claimed that people were starting to regard the AAP as an alternative to the BJP. He went on to say that the PM while not afraid of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, is scared of the AAP.

“Everyone says that only AAP will rid the country of the BJP in future. Modi-ji may not be scared of Rahul Gandhi but if there’s one party that he is scared, it is the AAP. They will put me in jail, but we are not afraid. We will fight. Kejriwal is the only future leader of this country,” Sisodia stated while addressing supporters at Raj Ghat.

</excerpt>

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab state unit president and MP Bhagwant Mann, along with party MLAs, volunteers and senior leaders, observed a hunger strike on Monday in response to the nationwide protest call given by the farmers against the Centre’s farm laws. At the same time, various party MLAs and local leaders took active part in the district level farmers’ protests in the state. Captain Amarinder Singh, however, said that Kejriwal “will sell your soul if it serves your purpose”.

Kejriwal said that the AAP is with the farmers and their struggle in full spirits. He said: “We will die for the farmers of this country, but we will not bow down to anyone’s pressure.” Kejriwal appealed to the Central government that the simple demands of the farmers be met and the Central farm laws be revoked, and, legal guarantee on the purchase of MSP be provided.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Monday, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said that to send a strong message to the Union government in support of the protesting farmers, party’s National Convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, MP Bhagwant Mann, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Punjab Affairs In-charge Jarnail Singh, along with all MLAs and Rajya Sabha members, went on a hunger strike in Delhi, whereas he (Cheema) himself sat on hunger strike, along with MLAs and other leaders in Chandigarh, in solidarity with the farmers.

The Deputy Leader of Opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke participated in farmers’ “dharna” at Ludhiana, MLA Prof Baljinder Kaur at Bathinda, MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan at Faridkot, MLA Principal Budhram at Mansa and MLA Jai Krishan Singh Rouri at Hoshiarpur participated at the district level farmers’ dharna with local leaders and volunteers.

Cheema said that the Modi government wanted to torpedo the peasant movement before it reached any conclusive end, by converting the nine stadia in Delhi into temporary jails for the protesting farmers, but Kejriwal foiled the attempt by flatly refusing the proposal, and supported the cause of the farmers fighting the big battle for survival and sustenance and stood rock solid with their movement, following which the Modi government was daggers drawn with the Kejriwal-led Delhi government.

Cheema said that both the Congress and the Akali Dal had been acting as the “B” team of the ruling BJP and were trying to weaken the farmers’ movement, by siding with the corporate houses. The LoP further said that the Congress had given a proof of this by holding a separate rally at the Sambhu border on Monday, adding that the farmers had been sitting on “dharnas” at the Sambhu border for the last two months, questioning that where the captain was then.

However, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday said that Kejriwal’s desperate attempts to hide his government’s utter failure to protect the famers’ interests will not save him from their wrath, nor will they safeguard his party from being decimated in the next Punjab Assembly elections.

“Just as every Punjabi knows that I am not one to be cowed down by any amount of false ED or other cases, they also know that you will sell your soul if it serves your purpose,” the Chief Minister said, in a resounding response to Kejriwal’s allegations and accusations against him (Captain Amarinder).

Daring his Delhi counterpart to cite even a single instance when he (Captain Amarinder) backed off under pressure of ED or any other agency, the Punjab Chief Minister pointed out that from Operation Bluestar to SYL and now to the farm laws issue, he had always done the right thing by his people, in sharp contrast to Kejriwal, whom the whole of Punjab had seen cringing in fear in the face of a minor defamation case and the whole of Delhi had seen begging the Centre for help amid the pandemic.
