Chacaguasay-Ilbis reportedly arranged to meet Toaquiza at his Airbnb on June 18. After allegedly suffocating her, he buried her body in a shallow grave in an upstate New York park, according to authorities and reported by the New York Post.

The connection between the victim and the suspect is believed to date back to their elementary school days in Ecuador. Chacaguasay-Ilbis entered the US illegally through El Paso, Texas, in January 2023 and was released due to insufficient detention space.

Toaquiza, on the other hand, crossed the southern border illegally into Lukeville, Arizona, in June 2023. Homeland Security sources say she was initially held by Border Patrol, where she expressed fear of returning to Ecuador due to threats from a former romantic partner, though it is unclear if this referred to Chacaguasay-Ilbis. She was later released with a future court date and planned to go to Chicago.

According to the biography on EduNova, Mr. Kamal was an alumnus of Boston University, the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Stanford University. With a solid career in consulting, he had a good reputation in the education business. He started the company ‘EduNova’ with his wife in 2016.

Teena, his wife was an alumnus of Harvard University as well as Delhi University who was listed as one of the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Massachusetts. Her online bio suggests three decades of working experience of education and technology industry.

“EduNova promised a ‘student success system’ and aimed towards improving the grades of students in middle school, high school, and college,” The Boston Globe newspaper reported.

The rise and fall of company

Initially thriving, the company led the Kamal couple to acquire a 19,000-square-foot estate with 11 bedrooms for $4 million in 2019, as indicated by state records. However, a financial downturn began when the company was dissolved in December 2021.

The family’s former mansion, valued at approximately $5.45 million, faced foreclosure a year ago. Recently, it was purchased by Wilsondale Associates LLC, a Massachusetts-based company, for $3 million, as reported by The Post.

The couple, formerly known as Rick and Teena, faced economic challenges, culminating in the foreclosure and subsequent sale of their expansive mansion to Massachusetts-based Wilsondale Associates LLC for $3 million a year ago.

Despite the estate’s estimated value of $5.45 million at the time of sale, the financial strain persisted, prompting Teena Kamal, a Harvard University and Delhi University alumna, to file for bankruptcy in September 2022.

The Terrible Tragedy

At 7:24 pm on Thursday, authorities received a call from a relative of the Kamal family who, concerned about not hearing from them for days, had come to check on them.

According to the District Attorney, the family members-Rakesh, Teena and their 18-year-old daughter Ariana were the only ones residing at mansion at that time. The DA also mentioned that the neighborhood, situated in one of the wealthiest areas in the state, was described as a “pleasant community” with a high level of safety.

The Norfolk District Attorney emphasized that a conclusive motive for this “terrible tragedy” is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing. Ghaziabad: Police sexually harasses woman in park, extort money from fiancé

A 22-year-old woman hailing from Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh has come forward with allegations of sexual harassment involving police officers in Ghaziabad on September 16.

According to her account, the incident occurred while she and her fiancé, who is a resident of Bulandshahr, were in the Sai Upvan forest in Ghaziabad. They were approached by two police personnel identified as Rakesh Kumar and Digambar Kumar, accompanied by another uniformed individual whose identity remains unknown.

The police officers purportedly threatened to arrest the woman’s fiancé and demanded a sum of ₹10,000 from the couple. Despite the couple’s pleas and even falling at the officers’ feet in desperation, they were met with refusal. Eventually, the fiancé was coerced into transferring ₹1,000 via PayTM. Additionally, the unidentified individual allegedly issued a menacing threat, demanding ₹5.5 lakh from the woman.

In her formal complaint, the woman accused the policemen of physical assault, with Rakesh Kumar allegedly committing a sexual assault. The couple was allegedly held captive for approximately three hours before being released, but their ordeal did not conclude there.

Following the initial incident, the accused continued to harass the woman through incessant phone calls and even visited her residence. On September 19, Rakesh Kumar contacted the woman with further harassment, prompting her to record their conversation as evidence. Upon discovering that the couple intended to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the three men, Rakesh Kumar showed up unannounced at the woman’s residence and issued threats.

Subsequently, after enduring ten days of harassment and trauma, the couple officially lodged an FIR on September 28. As of now, all three accused individuals are evading law enforcement, as stated by senior Ghaziabad police officer Nimish Patil, who also noted the initiation of an extensive investigation to locate and apprehend them.

Delhi: Man stabbed to death, 4 persons detained

Mumbai: Man stabbed to death over old dispute in Kurla, 7 arrested

The culprit, Vijay, was detained on Sunday, while the victim, Maresh, who survived, is being treated at a nearby hospital. The incident occurred a week ago in the desolate Siddepally Cross area of Chintamani Taluk.

On June 19, Vijay and his textile trader friend John brought Maresh to a distant location near Cross forest in Siddepally, where they beat him up before Vijay allegedly cut his neck with a knife and drank his blood.

John went viral after posting a video of the tragic incident on social media. On Sunday, the accused Vijay was apprehended by Kencharlahalli police. Vijay, John, and the victim Maresh are all cloth traders from Gandhinagar in the Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur.

Vijay suspected Maresh of cheating on his wife. According to authorities, Vijay was enraged and resolved to get his revenge when he chose to kill him. Maresh’s brother arrived on the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Village elders later summoned both of them and resolved the dispute through Raji Panchayat Maresh’s brother reported the suspects Vijay and John to the Kencharlahalli police station.

A 16-year-old girl died from her injuries after her alleged boyfriend stabbed her multiple times in New Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, police said on Monday, adding that the accused is on the run.

According to police, a case has been registered at the Shahbad Dairy police station under Indian Penal Code section (IPC) 302 (Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death).

Meanwhile, Suman Nalwa, Prosecutor of Delhi Police, stated, “A murder case was reported yesterday in the Shahbad Dairy police station limits.” A team has been assembled, and an investigation has begun. The defendant has been identified. We’ll have him arrested soon.”

Man inside car stabbed to death in Delhi by 4 robbers, police nabbed minor

One kid was arrested, but three other suspects are still on the run, after a man was allegedly stabbed to death inside his car by four thieves in Jafrad, here in the national capital, according to the Delhi Police.

DCP Northeast Joy Tirkey told media that a PCR call was received on Tuesday morning at 5:31 a.m., informing them that a guy was bleeding profusely in a car on Yamuna Vihar Road, Jafrabad. When the police arrived, they identified the victim as Arjun, who is 32-year-old. The UP resident was declared dead after suffering stab wounds to his neck.

The police began investigating the CCTV tape, which revealed that the dead was lying inside the car with the doors open. Suddenly, four teenagers approached the car and attempted to rob the deceased. They got into a fight and stabbed the victim. According to the footage, all four victims are seen fleeing the scene.

The FSL and criminal teams have been called in. The van is a taxi cab from Gurugram, Haryana. One of the four defendants is a minor (16) who has been detained by authorities. The other three have been identified but are still at large, according to authorities.

According to the police, efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining suspects, and further investigation into the case is underway.

Delhi Police busts gang, arrested 10 involved in sale of fake Ayurvedic medicines

Officials said on Tuesday that the Delhi Police Special Cell of Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) busted a gang of fraudsters involved in the sale of fake Ayurvedic medicines by reputed companies and arrested ten people in connection with the matter.

The matter came to light, according to the police, when the manager admin of a private marketing firm filed a complaint with IFSO alleging that “fake, spurious, misbranded, and adulterated medicines were being delivered to their customers by some unknown persons.”

“These unknown persons represented themselves as UMPL employees and called the clients or patients from various mobile numbers, luring them by offering to sell medicines at discounted rates, thereby causing loss to the clients and benefiting themselves,” police said.

It was also claimed that the fraudsters obtained the company’s data and defrauded approximately 6,372 clients to the tune of Rs 1.94 crore since 2017.

According to the police, the accused in the case, identified as Rahul Singh, is the network’s mastermind. According to the police, he ran a bogus call center in Lucknow’s Indira Nagar neighborhood with other partners identified as Ugarsen, Samar Singh, and Jitender Singh.

“He had procured the data of the complainant company from one Rajesh Singh, an employee of a telecom company through a chain of persons. He further sold the data to Vikas Pal, a resident of Delhi and others on a 60 per cent commission,” the police said.

Uttar Pradesh: 10 arrested after mining mafia clash inside police station

An official said on Monday that police have arrested ten people from two rival mining mafia groups for fighting inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri.

A rumored video from the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows members of rival groups assaulting each other inside a police station while officers try to intervene.

A police officer was on his way to report for VIP duty for Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s scheduled visit to the district when he saw two tractor drivers fighting at an intersection, according to police. Other people were also involved in the altercation.

Those involved in the brawl were taken to the Auncha Gate police station and booked under the appropriate sections.

Deputy SP of Mainpuri Santosh Kumar said “Two tractor drivers named Anuj Kumar and Vipin Kumar along with their group members clashed with each other and were brought to the police post. They continued their fight inside the station. Following this, four persons were booked under Section 191 and action has been taken against six other persons.”

Uttar Pradesh: Police constable shot dead in Jalaun

A police constable on duty was slain by miscreants near the Orai Kotwali highway outpost in the early hours of Tuesday, according to authorities.

The deceased constable was now identified as Bhedjit Singh. According to police, miscreants on motorcycles opened fire on the cop when he flashed them a torch.

In a statement, the Superintendent of Police from Jalaun, Dr Iraj Raja said,”Bhedjit Singh, who was posted at the highway police station of Orai Kotwali on late night duty.

“Around 1.30 am on seeing a bike approaching him he flashed a torch at the vehicle. In the meantime, miscreants opened fire at the constable after which he started chasing them. The miscreants however kept on firing at the constable and killed him.”

Umaria: Police arrest BJP leader for molesting minor girl

Police arrested a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader on Monday in connection with the molestation of a minor girl in Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district.

The BJP leader has been identified as Rahul Shitlani, who was appointed district co-coordinator of the BJP IT cell in November 2022. He has now been removed from the party’s IT-cell.

On 10 April, this year, a case was filed against Sitlani at the Nowrozabad police station in the district under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections. The accused had a history of molesting and harassing the minor victim. He also threatened to go viral with the photo.

According to the FIR, the father of the minor girl had submitted a written application to the police station to lodge an FIR against the accused. He told the police that his daughter told him that she had a video call with Rahul Shitlani in March of this year, when she was in Anuppur for a wedding.

On video call, the accused threatened to defame her and asked her to remove her clothes. She did whatever the accused asked because she was afraid of being defamed, and in the meantime, the accused took screenshots.

When the minor returned home to Nowrozabad after about a week, the accused called her and showed her the obscene pictures. He threatened her that if she kept meeting him and talking, she would be safe; otherwise, he would make the photo go viral.

Delhi: Juvenile apprehended for sexually abusing a girl in Kalyanpuri

The Delhi Police arrested a boy on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl child in Delhi’s Kalyanpuri neighborhood.

On Saturday night, Kalyanpuri Police Station received information that a girl child had been sexually assaulted by her neighbor. According to the allegations, the victim child was playing in the streets when the accused allegedly took her to a vacant house in front of a park near his home and sexually assaulted her. The child began to cry, and both she and the accused boy fled the scene.

The victim told her mother about the incident, and she was taken to the hospital, where the complaint was filed. She was examined medically and counseled by a children’s care counsellor at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Doctors confirmed the assault during an examination.

The police opened an investigation under sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 6 of the POCSO Act. The police also apprehended the accused boy, who happens to be a juvenile. The case is being investigated further.

Telangana: Police busted Noida-based gang as they sold 16.8 crore citizens data

In a recent media talk, the Cyberabad police of Hyderabad revealed that they had busted a Noida-based gang who stole/sold sensitive and confidential information of Government/Defence.

As per the statement given by a police officer, they nabbed around 6 “data-breakers who have been involved in this data stealing which was sensitive as well as confidential from various governments and private institutions.”

According to the police, around 16.8 crore citizens sensitive and confidential data has been breached and sold in the open markets in 140 categories. As per police officials, the data of “defence personnel such as who is posted where and there phone number,” has been sold. The official furthermore revealed that they are investigating the case as to find out how did they get their hands on the data.

They also claimed that “in the coming day they will share more information about it.” As per the police, the case is one of its kind. The leaked data includes Mobile number, NEET data, PAN, D-MAT, credit/debit (Axis, HSBC) cards details, WhatsApp, Facebook, and frequent flyers data etc.

Man arrested in Delhi’s Nand Nagri area for stealing phones

The Delhi Police arrested a man for allegedly stealing mobile phones from people travelling on a bus in Delhi’s Nand Nagri area.
According to police, on February 28, at around 9:25 pm, three men got on a bus near DLF Mor Seemapuri and robbed phones from people travelling on the bus. The arrested man has been identified as Sameer (27), a resident of E-44, C-92 Jhuggi, New Seemapuri, Delhi, the police said.
According to police, Sameer was arrested by the staff of Seemapuri Police Station. He disclosed the name of his associates.
The associates have been identified as Saddam and Mustaq. Both are residents of E-44, New Seemapuri, Delhi.
According to police, the staff of the Crime Branch picked up Saddam while Mustaq is still absconding.
A case has been registered under sections 394/397/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Nand Nagri.

Myanmar woman gang raped in Delhi

A Myanmar woman was allegedly gang raped by 4 people in Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj area, Delhi police informed on Tuesday. The woman alleged that she was made unconscious and was abducted by an auto-rickshaw driver before being gag-raped.

As per the police officials, the woman is a registered refugee. “A case has been registered by the police following her complaint,” a police officer said.

According to the complaint, when the woman was abducted by auto-rickshaw driver, she was visiting somewhere in Southeast Delhi, along with her husband for the treatment of their daughter,. The driver reportedly took her to an isolated location.

The Delhi police officials stated, “We registered a case on February 25 under IPC sections 365, 368, 376d,323, and 506.” The investigation is underway, further details are awaited.

Bihar: Prime accuse in ‘Mubarakpur lynching case’ nabbed

The Special Investigation Team of Bihar Police has arrested the prime accused of ‘Mubarakpur lynching case,’ Vijay Yadav, police revealed.

The team of SIT nabbed Yadav from the Revalganj station area in Sitab Diyara village of Saran district, Bihar. The incident pertains to February 5, when 3 people were allegedly tied and beaten in Bihar’s Mubarakpur village in Manjhi.

Two of three victims, Amitesh and Rahul in the case were succumbed to their injuries. The cops while investigating the matter attached the properties of 4 accused, who are identified as, Vijay Yadav and his close aides Ajay Yadav, Deepak Yadav, and Vicky Yadav. The investigators attached the properties after obtaining a order from the JM of Chhapra court.

After the alleged lynching, a mob set the house and poultry farm of the village headman on fire. After registering the case in incident, the police launched an investigation into the matter.

Delhi Police arrested father-son for faking as CBI officers and robbing man of Rs 11 lakh

Delhi Police arrested two persons accused of posing as CBI officers and robbing a person of Rs 11 lakh at Sarai Kale Khan flyover, police revealed. The accused in the case are identified as Moht Intzar, 46 and Mohd Yusuf, 19, who are father and son, police said.

As per the statement given by police, “The staff of Sunlight Colony of Southeast District Police Station was patrolling while they thwarted a robbery bid in the Sarai Kale Khan area. One person, Saurabh Gupta, who was on his way to deliver a bag containing cash of Rs 11 lakhs at his residence in Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, was intercepted by two persons, who posed as CBI officials,”police said.

“After intercepting him, they intimidated him and said that they will send him to jail on the pretext of carrying cash more than the limit allowed. Thereafter, they boarded an auto to take him to their fake office at ITO, Delhi but on the way to Sarai Kale Khan flyover, they took his bag and fled from the spot,” police added.

After a short chase the accused were apprehended by the police officers. In response to the incident, a case has been registered against the duo under sections of IPC at Sunlight Colony Police Station.
