Bryan Adams’ Gurgaon Concert Slammed for Traffic Chaos and Poor Management

December 13, 2024, 3:36 pm

India has always been a favorite destination for international musicians, and Bryan Adams is not an exception. His ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour created much excitement, and after memorable performances in Kolkata and Shillong, he brought his incredible show to Gurgaon on December 12. While the music was great, the event’s management left many disappointed.

On social media, attendees expressed dissatisfaction regarding the poor crowd and traffic control. A few fans said they were congested in the crowd, and a few others criticized the messy parking situation.

Bryan was welcomed in all the cities he performed in, but his Gurgaon concert became controversial because of the mismanagement of the event. Some fans blamed Zomato and its CEO, Deepinder Goyal, for selling more tickets than the venue’s capacity could hold. Others blamed the local authorities. They said that if the government could manage such a large event like Kumbh Mela, they could have managed Bryan’s concert better.

One of the attendants tweeted, “The organizers of Bryan Adams show, commendable job done selling 100k tickets, next time you do such an event, rent parking lots and inform with proper signs. It’s a no-smoking zone, so you should not sell at the venue.”

Kannada Language Row: Woman Describes Disturbing Experience at Diljit Dosanjh’s Bengaluru Concert

December 7, 2024, 4:02 pm

A post from Diljit Dosanjh’s Bengaluru concert as part of his Dil-Luminati tour is one of the several posts generated, including a video of Deepika Padukone on stage. Tanisha Sabherwal was one of the attendees at the concert, posting on X about a troubling incident she had at the event. It started off with a language dispute.

Sabherwal expressed her frustration, writing, “I never thought I’ll be saying this, after having lived for so long but BANGALORE WILL COLLAPSE soon because of this language issue.” She went on to describe how a woman pushed her during the concert, and when she asked the woman to back off, the woman became hostile, demanding that Sabherwal speak in Kannada.

The matter went out of hand when the woman twisted Sabherwal’s friend’s arm in a bid to intervene. The woman then called the police. However, Sabherwal had recorded the whole thing, and thus no case was filed. Sabherwal remembered, “She left and comes back with a police saying my friend was teasing her. And again police had to speak in Kannada, of course.”. We showed the video, clearly it was opposite, and you know what the police said, ‘delete it.’

I never thought I’ll be saying this, after having lived for so long but BANGALORE WILL COLLAPSE soon because of this language issue.

If you’re gonna say ‘then learn’, go ahead but READ ON.

Yesterday’s Diljeet concert experience was pathetic.

— Tanisha Sabherwal (@tanishaaa03) December 7, 2024

Bystanders rallied behind her when they saw the video, but the woman soon broke into tears and created a scene. The post, even though unverified by HT.com, set off a discussion about the ongoing language debate in Bengaluru. A commenter said, “The linguistic jingoism again. Any state that practices it will eventually go down the drain.

The incident draws attention to the rising tension in Bengaluru over language-related issues. While a section of locals wants the non-Kannada speaking citizens to learn the language as a mark of respect, others feel demands like these promote exclusion in a cosmopolitan city like Bengaluru.

Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh Fake Ticket Scandal: ED Raids Five States!

October 26, 2024, 3:26 pm

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has initiated a widespread search operation across five states—Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore—regarding the illegal ticket sales for Coldplay’s concerts and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dil-Luminati.” This action follows numerous FIRs filed in various states concerning fraudulent ticket sales.

The concerts, part of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour” and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dil-Luminati,” created a buzz among music fans, leading to a swift sellout of tickets on official platforms like Bookmyshow and Zomato Live. However, the overwhelming demand resulted in black-market ticket sales at inflated prices, with many individuals reportedly falling victim to scams involving fake tickets.

Bookmyshow has filed an FIR against several suspects, alleging they were selling counterfeit tickets and inflating prices to exploit concertgoers. In response, the ED has launched an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, conducting searches at over 13 locations across the five states and seizing incriminating evidence such as mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards associated with the scam.

“Multiple FIRs have been filed in various states across the country, including one by Bookmyshow against several suspects believed to be exploiting concertgoers. The FIR alleges that these individuals have engaged in selling counterfeit tickets and drastically inflating prices, taking advantage of the high demand for these coveted concerts,” stated the probe agency.

The ED’s investigation aims to uncover illegal ticket sales, reveal the financial networks behind these scams, and trace the proceeds of crime generated from these activities. It has been found that many individuals used social media platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram to sell fake tickets.

“Normally, tickets are available on platforms like Zomato, Bookmyshow, and others. However, when concert demand is very high, these tickets sell out quickly, leading people to seek alternate sources. Searches and investigations conducted by the ED have revealed information about multiple individuals known for providing fake tickets through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram,” the ED commented.

Regarding Diljit Dosanjh’s India tour, he has recently performed in the US and Europe. Following his overseas tour, Diljit is set to kick off the Indian leg of his tour. After concerts in Delhi on October 26 and 27, the tour will proceed to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati.

Coldplay India Tour Cancelled? Fans React To BookMyShow Ticket After Ticket Scandal

October 1, 2024, 4:09 pm

The much-anticipated Coldplay concert in India, scheduled for January 2025, faces uncertainty after the CEO of BookMyShow’s parent company, Big Tree Entertainment, Ashish Hemrajani, skipped a second summons from the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW). Hemrajani, who was summoned over allegations of black market ticket sales for the concert, did not attend the hearing, fueling speculation about the concert’s possible cancellation.

The Mumbai Police’s EOW had issued the first summons on September 27, followed by another on September 30. Instead of appearing, Hemrajani sent the company’s COO, Anil Makhija, in his place, as reported by ANI.

Social Media Buzzes with Speculation of Concert Cancellation

Fans of Coldplay have taken to social media, expressing concerns that the concert might be canceled amidst the controversy. Many have questioned if the event will take place at all, given the gravity of the ticket scam allegations.

“Coldplay might get cancelled,” one user posted on X. Another user wrote, “Sources suggest that the #coldplayconcert could be cancelled over the alleged #BookMyShow scam! It’s a shame that nothing is transparent in India.”

Some fans even appealed to the band directly, with one user tagging Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin, urging the group to distance themselves from the ticketing partner. “@coldplay should cancel their India concert as fraud and scam-star ticketing partners are involved,” the post read.

Others, however, warned against cancellation, stating it could discourage international artists from performing in India. “Canceling the Coldplay concert will not solve anything. It will only deter foreign artists from coming to India again.”

Legal Battle Against BookMyShow

The ticketing controversy erupted after advocate Amit Vyas filed a legal complaint against BookMyShow for allegedly facilitating the black marketing of tickets for the Coldplay concert. Vyas accused the company of blocking genuine users and allowing third parties to sell tickets at exorbitant prices. Tickets originally priced at ₹2,500 were reportedly resold by third-party sellers for as much as ₹3 lakh.

Diljit Dosanjh Tickets Resold For ₹41,000: Fans Going Crazy

September 11, 2024, 10:25 am

The excitement surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming India tour is palpable, as fans rushed to secure their tickets during the pre-sale. The hugely popular Punjabi singer is set to perform across 10 cities between October and December 2024, as part of his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour. In a remarkable show of fan support, 1 lakh tickets were sold within 15 minutes of the pre-sale going live.

Pre-Sale Frenzy

The pre-sale, which opened at 12 pm on Tuesday exclusively for HDFC Pixel Credit Card holders, witnessed tickets being snapped up almost instantly. Fans who managed to secure seats celebrated their luck, while many others were left disappointed as tickets vanished quickly. The cheapest tickets, priced at ₹1,499 for the “Silver” area, were among the first to sell out. Prices for the “Silver” category were later raised to ₹1,999.

The more premium categories also saw a similar response, with tickets in the Gold (standing) area, priced at ₹3,999, being sold out within minutes. The most expensive tickets, such as Fan Pit Phase II priced at ₹12,999 and Phase I priced at ₹9,999, were also snapped up in record time.

Resale Market Soars

With the official tickets sold out, many eager fans turned to resale markets, where prices skyrocketed. Tickets that originally cost ₹12,999 were being resold for as much as ₹21,000. The resale surge has left some fans feeling frustrated, as many had missed the opportunity to buy tickets at face value.

Social Media Buzz: ₹41,265 on Concert Tickets

Amid the ticket-buying frenzy, social media was abuzz with conversations about the staggering prices some fans were willing to pay. One particular post by X user Kanishk Khurana caught the internet’s attention when he claimed to know someone who spent ₹41,265 on tickets for the concert. Khurana’s comment, urging people to make “better financial decisions,” sparked a heated debate.

Fans Divided Over Spending

While some social media users agreed with Khurana, arguing that such high amounts could be better spent elsewhere, others defended the splurge, saying that money spent on experiences that bring joy is justified.

X user Siddharth Sharma weighed in, stating, “It took me a long time to realise that just saving & investing is not going to make me happy. Learn to spend it on what gives you happiness. For some, a WC T20 match is valuable; for someone else, a Sonu Nigam concert is. Be prudent, not a miser.”

Another user, Vaibhav, echoed a similar sentiment, adding, “If someone has the means and capability to buy the tickets, let them!” However, some remained critical of the steep prices, like Amar, who shared, “I don’t really get concerts. I was born and raised in a lower-middle-class family. I can never buy such expensive tickets.”

Looking Ahead to the Tour

Despite the debates, the excitement for Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati Tour continues to grow. With performances in 10 cities across India, fans are eagerly awaiting the experience of seeing one of Punjab’s most celebrated artists live. Whether paying ₹1,499 or ₹21,000, fans are sure to enjoy a thrilling concert experience.
