CM Yogi and UP Cabinet to Hold Special Meeting in Prayagraj, Followed by Holy Dip at Triveni Sangam

The Yogi government is gearing up to hold a special Cabinet meeting in Prayagraj on Wednesday, January 22. All 54 ministers of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet have been invited to participate in this crucial meeting, which is anticipated to approve several key proposals and schemes aimed at the state’s development. After the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with his entire cabinet, will take a ceremonial holy dip in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam. This marks the second time CM Yogi will lead his cabinet to the Sangam for a holy dip. In 2019, during the Kumbh Mela, he took part in a similar ritual alongside his ministers, Akhada Parishad President Narendra Giri, and other saints, making headlines for combining governance with religious traditions.

The cabinet meeting is scheduled to take place at the Triveni Sankul in Arail, starting at 12 noon. The venue was shifted from the initially planned Mela Authority Auditorium to Triveni Sankul to ensure that pilgrims visiting the Sangam face no inconvenience due to VIP security arrangements. The decision was made to prevent disruptions to the movement of devotees at the holy site. Once the meeting concludes, the ministers will proceed to the Sangam from the Arail VIP Ghat via motorboats. Upon reaching the Sangam, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet members will perform the traditional worship rituals before taking the ceremonial holy dip in the sacred confluence.

According to reports, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and Cabinet Ministers such as Suresh Kumar Khanna, Surya Pratap Shahi, Swatantra Dev Singh, Baby Rani Maurya, Jaiveer Singh, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Dharampal, Nand Gopal Nandi, and Anil Rajbhar will all take part in the holy dip. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly participated in 15 public meetings, five roadshows, Modi’s nomination event in Varanasi, and visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple during the extensive 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign.

From Meerut to Mirzapur, the Modi-Yogi pair attended 21 events together, where their chemistry was prominently displayed.

In various joint meetings, the Prime Minister expressed great pride in having Adityanath as a companion, particularly praising the significant improvements in the state’s law and order situation during each rally, according to a government press note.

Slogans such as “Modi hai toh mumkin hai (everything is possible with Modi)” and “Yogi hai to yaqeen hai (Yogi inspires trust)” were coined by the public to emphasize the strong bond between the two leaders. Adityanath campaigned in all constituencies, holding multiple public meetings in several of them to strengthen the party’s position.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, cautioned people against the manifesto of the INDI alliance, emphasising their alleged intention to “confine daughters and women to their homes”.

He stated, “However, they fail to recognize that this nation operates under the Constitution of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. We will not tolerate the revival of the deplorable practice of triple talaq in our country.”

Yogi Adityanath addressed a public meeting organized for the Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency of Mau on Monday, where he urged voters to support Lok Sabha candidate Arvind Rajbhar.

Continuing his criticism of the opposition, he remarked, “We must be wary of the INDI alliance, as they proclaim that if they come to power, they will impose inheritance tax. This tax is akin to Aurangzeb’s Jizya tax. Moreover, they declare that if they assume power, they will enforce personal laws, indicating their desire to implement Talibani and Sharia law in the country.”

He emphasized that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the nation’s stature and the dignity of every Indian have risen globally over the past decade. Consequently, the slogan of ‘Fir ek bar Modi Sarkar aur Abki bar 400 paar’ reverberates throughout the country.
CM Yogi remarked that the fate of the country has undergone significant transformation in the past 10 years under the leadership of PM Modi. He highlighted that there is now a better security environment prevailing in the nation, with major development projects underway across the country.

“Furthermore, under the guidance of Modi ji, the rights of the poor are being upheld. Free ration facilities are being extended to 80 crore impoverished individuals in the country. As many as, 12 crore farmers benefit from the Kisan Samman Nidhi, and toilets have been constructed in 12 crore households. All this is achievable due to PM Modi’s visionary leadership,” he emphasized.

CM Yogi further stated that starting from June 4, every elderly person above 70 years of age in the country will be provided with an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per year. “The Congress and Samajwadi Party have a negative mindset. They stand against Lord Ram and the nation, denying Dalits and backward communities their rights. Now, they have set their sights on reservations for OBC castes,” he remarked.
CM Yogi continued, “There is talk of breaching Other Backward Class reservations and allocating them to Muslims, but we will not allow this to happen. These rights belong to the OBC caste, and we will not permit them to be usurped.”

CM Yogi highlighted that Ambedkar had asserted that religion cannot be the basis of reservation. He underscored that these parties aim to once again divide the country along religious lines, but the public has discerned their intentions. Hence, the public asserts that ‘Jo Ram ko laaye hain hum unko layenge.’

The electorate in the Ghosi Lok Sabha seat was urged by Chief Minister Yogi to back the ‘400 Paar’ Mission. Concerning Arvind Rajbhar’s electoral emblem, he said, “This ‘chhadi’ (walking stick) mission will serve as a support system for the elderly.”

Bomb threat to Yogi Adityanath, FIR filed

The Uttar Pradesh police announced on Monday that they have filed a case against an unidentified individual following a bomb threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The threat was received on March 2 by a chief constable at the security headquarters.

Officials stated that during the call, the unknown caller threatened to blow up Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a bomb before disconnecting the call. An FIR has been registered at the Mahanagar police station against the caller, and an investigation is currently underway.

“The airport has been built in Ayodhya, and AAI has completed it in a record time of 20 months,” stated Chairman Sanjeev Kumar during an interview with ANI in Ayodhya. He highlighted the positive impact on connectivity and the excitement within the Airport Authority about this expansion.

Designed to cater to the influx of pilgrims visiting the Ram Mandir and other nearby religious sites such as Ram ki Paidi, Hanuman Garhi, Nageshwar Nath Temple, and Birla Temple, the airport is expected to boost pilgrimage tourism and facilitate business activities throughout the year.

The initial phase of the Ayodhya Airport features a runway with a length of 2200 meters, suitable for A-321-type aircraft operations. The second phase involves the development of a new terminal building spanning 50,000 square meters, capable of serving 4000 passengers during peak hours and accommodating 60 lakh passengers annually.

The airport’s inauguration, scheduled for today, will be officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Named Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, the airport represents a significant gateway for pilgrims and tourists, contributing to the overall growth of the region.

Constructed for Rs 350 crore, the Ayodhya Airport includes a terminal building, an ATC tower, a fire station, car parking, and other city-side infrastructure. The terminal building, covering 6500 square meters, boasts passenger-friendly features such as check-in counters, conveyor belts, and X-BIS machines.

Reflecting the rich history and cultural significance of Ayodhya, the airport’s terminal building draws inspiration from the architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir. Adorned with local artefacts, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Lord Ram, the structure creates an ambience of spirituality.

Furthermore, the terminal building incorporates sustainability features such as an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and a solar power plant with a capacity of 250 KWP to meet GRIHA 5-star ratings. Ahead of the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lead the cabinet members in a prayer ceremony at the revered Hanumangarhi temple.

5 killed in Meerut soap godown explosion; CM Yogi extends condolences

CM Yogi directs officials to conduct relief work in rain-hit districts

“The differences between Mukherjee and Pt Jawaharlal Nehru also came to the fore when the then Nehru government attempted to play havoc with the unity and security of the country by forcibly adding Article 370 to the Indian Constitution,” the UP CM said, and added, “At that time, he strongly opposed it and gave the slogan of ‘Ek desh mein do Pradhan, do Vidhan aur do Nishan nahin challenge (A single country can’t have two Prime Ministers, two constitutions, and two national emblems).”
Mukherjee, who was a politician, barrister, and academician, served as the Minister for Industry and Supply in Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded in 1951, is the ideological parent organisation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to the BJP’s official website, on the issue of the Delhi pact with Likayat Ali Khan, Mukherjee resigned from the Cabinet on April 6, 1950.

CM Yogi Adityanath casts vote in Legislative Council bypolls

On Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath exercised his voting rights in the by-elections for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. The polling for the vacant seats began at approximately 9 am.

The bypolls were necessitated due to two vacancies in the Legislative Council. One seat became vacant after Laxman Prasad Acharya resigned following his appointment as the Governor of Sikkim. The other seat became vacant following the unfortunate demise of BJP member Banwari Lal Dohre. Laxman Acharya’s term as Governor was originally set to continue until 2027, while Dohre’s term was scheduled to expire in 2028.

The polling commenced at 9 am and will continue until 4 pm. The vote counting process will also take place on the same day, with results expected to be declared in the evening. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put forward Manvendra Singh and Padmasen Chowdhary as their candidates for the by-election. Both candidates currently hold positions as state vice presidents within the BJP. The Samajwadi Party has announced Ramjatan Rajbhar and Ramkamal Nirmal as their candidates for the by-election.
