Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Set to Visit Maha Kumbh Today

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is to visit Prayagraj today, which would be his first visit after the stampede incident at the Maha Kumbh recently.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will visit Satua Baba Ashram in Sector-21 and Bharat Seva Shram Camp in Sector-5. He will also meet the Heads of Mission from other countries at the Mela Circuit House.

A delegation of 118 members, including Heads of Mission, diplomats, and their spouses from 77 countries, is also visiting the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj today.

Earlier this week, a stampede occurred during Mauni Amavasya at the Maha Kumbh Mela, killing at least 30 people.

A three-member judicial commission has been constituted to probe the incident. The panel recently visited Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj, where most of the victims were admitted. The stampede occurred early Wednesday morning at the Sangam, leaving 30 dead and 90 others injured.

It further states that this commission will ascertain the causes and circumstances of such a tragedy that led to their death and prepare recommendations to help avoid such recurrence in the future. The said report is required to be made within a month.

Meanwhile, the Maha Kumbh continues to witness massive participation. Over 5.42 million devotees took a dip at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati on Saturday alone, including over 1 million Kalpavasis and 4.42 million pilgrims.

Since the event began on January 13, more than 314.6 million devotees have performed the holy dip.

The Maha Kumbh, till February 26, has these critical *snan* dates ahead: February 3, (Basant Panchami-Third Shahi Snan), February 12, (Maghi Purnima), and February 26, Maha Shivaratri.

Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture Invites Yogi to Visit Japan

Kotaro Nagasaki, the Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday. He expressed admiration for India’s rich history and strong ties with Japan. Furthermore, Nagasaki emphasized the deep friendship between the two nations.

“I have deep respect for your country – the cradle of human civilizations and the world’s largest democracy,” Nagasaki remarked.

He also pointed out that India has been one of Japan’s closest friends since diplomatic relations were established over 70 years ago. In addition, the two countries have grown into key partners in promoting regional security and a free Indo-Pacific.

Formal Invitation to Strengthen Relations

In light of these developments, Nagasaki extended a formal invitation to CM Yogi, highlighting the importance of further strengthening the bond between India and Japan. “On behalf of our Yamanashi Prefecture, I’m committed to furthering the friendship between Japan and India… I would be deeply appreciative if you consider this invitation,” Nagasaki stated.

Fire in Neonatal ICU Claims Lives

The devastating fire broke out late Friday night in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital. At least 10 newborns died due to burns and suffocation. Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak, who visited Jhansi on Saturday, stated that 49 children were in the NICU, which has only 18 beds. Seven bodies have been identified, while efforts are underway to identify the remaining three.

Prime Minister’s Heartfelt Condolences

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “Heartbreaking! The fire accident at Jhansi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh is heart-wrenching. My deepest condolences to those who lost their innocent children in this. I pray to God to give them the strength to bear this immense loss.” He also added, “The local administration, under the supervision of the state government, is making every possible effort for relief and rescue.”

Uttar Pradesh Government’s Compensation

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh for the families of the deceased children, while ₹50,000 will be given to the families of the injured babies. CM Yogi Adityanath has also instructed the Divisional Commissioner and DIG of Jhansi to submit a report on the incident within 12 hours.

Cause of the Fire and Ongoing Investigation

The fire is believed to have started due to a short circuit in an oxygen concentrator. It spread quickly due to the highly oxygenated environment in the NICU. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire and to hold those accountable. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party accused the hospital authorities of overlooking an earlier short circuit in the machinery on Friday afternoon.

Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadheeshwar Yogi Adityanath performed the traditional ‘Kanya Pujan’ ceremony at Gorakhnath Temple on the ninth day of Sharadiya Navratri, in line with the customs of Gorakshpeeth, on Friday, October 11. Following age-old rituals, the CM washed the feet of nine young girls, symbolizing their worship, and adorned them with a chunari, conducted aarti, served them meals with devotion, and offered ‘Dakshina’ to seek their blessings.

The ritual took place on the first floor of his residential area within the temple complex, where CM Yogi washed the feet of the nine girls individually using water from a brass vessel. He applied a tilak made of roli, sandalwood, curd, akshat, and barley grown at the temple’s Shaktipeeth altar to their foreheads before honoring them with garlands, chunaris, gifts, and dakshina.

After the ceremony, CM Yogi personally served fresh food, prepared in the temple’s kitchen, to the girls. Besides these nine girls, other children, both boys and girls, were also offered food with equal care and were presented with gifts and dakshina.

The smiles and joy on the children’s faces, especially after receiving CM Yogi’s warmth and affection, were touching. With care and respect, he washed the feet of the nine girls and Batuk Bhairav, ensuring they were comfortable and satisfied throughout the event.

As he served the children, CM Yogi attentively engaged with them, making sure every child’s plate was filled generously with prasad, while instructing temple staff to ensure no child was left out.

Present during the ceremony were Gorakhnath temple’s chief priest Yogi Kamalnath, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi, Dwarika Tiwari, Virendra Singh, Durgesh Bajaj, Amit Singh Monu, and Vinay Gautam. CM Yogi Adityanath Offers Condolences For Seven Victims In Etawah Tragedy

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his condolences for the loss of seven lives in an accident that took place in Etawah on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 12:30 am when a double-decker bus en route to Delhi collided with a car on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, as reported by police officials.

After learning about the accident, the Chief Minister ordered officials to promptly arrive at the scene and accelerate relief operations for the injured. He also instructed the district administration to ensure that the injured are given proper medical care and wished them a swift recovery.

According to Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, CMO of Saifai PGI, “The accident happened after midnight. A bus and a car collided, and about 50 patients came here. Six to seven patients are critical.”

More in the details, SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma told ANI, “A double-decker bus going from Raebareli to Delhi collided with a car at about 12:30 a.m. The car was going to Lucknow. There were 60 people on the bus, out of whom four died. 20 to 25 people who were injured have been admitted to the hospital. Three people who were there in the car have also died. The accident occurred because the car driver fell asleep while driving.”

“Government is making sure best treatment is being given to the admitted people. Rescue operations are also being made for the other people. We are making all possible efforts to make sure that all the other people reach their destinations,” he added.

The official sources said that three persons were killed, and another was critically injured after their car collided with a mini truck in the late night hours in Bareilly district’s Mathurapur area on July 31.

CM Yogi: BJP Against Muslim reservation To Protect SC, ST, OBC Quota

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that reservation based on religion is unconstitutional, emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposes any form of reservation for Muslims.

“Reservation based on religion is unconstitutional. Baba Saheb Ambedkar strongly opposed it but Congress and the parties of the INDI alliance are competing to provide Muslim reservations,” he said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intensified his criticism of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), expressing gratitude to the Calcutta High Court for nullifying all OBC certificates issued in West Bengal after 2010.

“In West Bengal, the TMC has unjustly exploited the reservation rights of OBCs for the past 14 years by including 118 Muslim castes in the OBC category in 2010. We extend our appreciation to the Calcutta High Court for strongly rebuking this unconstitutional action by the TMC,” he remarked.

“Similarly, in Bihar, Lalu ji has advocated for reservations for Muslims. However, this raises questions about where these reservations would come from, as they seek to allocate them to Muslims by encroaching on the reservations of OBCs, SCs, and STs,” CM Yogi added.

He reiterated that the BJP opposes any form of Muslim reservation in order to safeguard the reservations of SCs, STs, and OBCs, highlighting that such reservations are also unconstitutional. He warned that implementing such divisive practices would jeopardize the nation’s unity.

The Calcutta High Court’s ruling, issued on May 22, directs the West Bengal Backward Classes Commission to compile a new list of OBCs in accordance with the 1993 Act. Individuals included in the OBC list prior to 2010 will retain their status, while post-2010 nominations will be revoked.

This decision is expected to invalidate approximately five lakh OBC certificates. However, individuals who have secured jobs under the OBC quota or are in the process of doing so will not be affected, as they cannot be excluded from the quota.

Following the Calcutta High Court’s annulment of OBC certificates issued in West Bengal after 2010, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared that she would not accept the verdict, asserting that “OBC reservation continues and will always continue.”

Tragedy struck in Chandauli as four individuals, including three labourers, tragically lost their lives due to inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a septic tank. Local reports indicate that all three labourers, one after another, fell unconscious upon entering the tank, followed by the landlord’s son who attempted to rescue them.

Despite efforts, all four were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Viraj Pandey, confirmed the incident and announced that the District Administration would provide Rs 4 lakh ex gratia to each of the deceased.

At the Sambhal election rally, Yogi Adityanath stated that the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance resembles a scenario where someone inexperienced in driving ends up causing harm with a tractor. He referred to them as ‘2 ladkon ki jodi yahi hai.’

“Reservations based on religion were the reason behind the partition of this country. Do Congress and the Samajwadi Party want the partition of the country? They say they’ll do a caste census, for what? The Indian National Congress, in its agenda for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, pledged to conduct a national census to assess various castes, sub-castes, and their socioeconomic status. Additionally, they proposed amending the Constitution to eliminate the 50% cap on reservations for marginalized communities, including scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, and other disadvantaged social groups.

The video, generated using Artificial Intelligence, surfaced online through an account referred to as ‘X,’ attributed to ‘Shyam Gupta RPSU.’ Authorities from the Cyber Crime Police Station in Noida reported that the video, uploaded on May 1, propagated misleading information aimed at bolstering anti-national sentiments.

Following an alert from the Noida Unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, charges were filed under sections 468, 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code, and section 66 of the Information Technology Act at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Noida. The accused, identified as Shyam Gupta from Barola in Noida’s Gautam Buddha Nagar, will face further legal proceedings under the jurisdiction of the Cyber Crime Police Station in Noida.

This incident occurred shortly after another instance involving a ‘doctored’ video allegedly featuring Amit Shah, wherein the Union Home Minister was purportedly heard expressing opposition to reservations in the country. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary at the Lok Bhavan in Lucknow on Monday.
Remembering the former PM, the Chief Minister said that Atal Bihari was the “Ajat Shatru” (the one who has no enemy) of Indian politics.

“Along with highlighting the political instability in India, he set an exemplary standard of purity and transparency in politics. The foundation for the new benchmarks of development, security, and good governance established by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last nine and a half years was laid by Atal Bihari during his tenure, CM Yogi remarked. He also said that various governments, including the Bharatiya Janata Party governments, are observing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary as Good Governance Day.

This year marks the centenary year of Vajpayee’s birth.
“Everyone is aware that he was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. However, he chose Uttar Pradesh as his workplace and received education there. He is also known for his connection with Bateshwar in Agra, his ancestral land. Atal Bihari has provided a new direction to society and the nation,” CM Yogi stated. CM Yogi further pointed out that the government would adopt his ideals and work accordingly.

“The government will organise various programmes from the village level to the state level to keep Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s memories alive in the literary field. Additionally, programmes will be conducted in schools of the Basic Education Board, universities, and other academic institutions to highlight his literary interests and contributions to journalism,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Mayor Sushma Kharwal, and others attended the event.

Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister of India from May 16, 1996 to June 1 1996 and again from March 19, 1998, to May 22, 2004. He also served as India’s External Affairs Minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Moraji Desai from 1977 to 1979. He passed away at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi on August 16, 2018.

CM Yogi Adityanath condoles Capt Shubham Gupta’s death in J-K

On Thursday, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, paid tribute to Army Captain Shubham Gupta and announced a government job and an ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh for the brave soldier’s family. The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh also announced in an official release that a road in the district will bear Captain Shubham Gupta’s name in his honor.

“Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family through his official X handle, CM Yogi said the Uttar Pradesh government is with the bereaved family members of the braveheart captain at this hour of grief,” according to a press release from the Chief Minister’s office.

At the Wednesday encounter between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu, four army personnel were killed. Among them was Captain Shubham Gupta, who enlisted in the Indian Army in 2015 and received his commission in 2018. The press release mentioned that Shubham’s first posting was in Udhampur. In the meantime, the ongoing conflict between terrorists and joint Army and J-K Police forces in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal in the Rajouri district, which started on Thursday, claimed the lives of two terrorists.

Yogi Adityanath Govt to encourage scientific mindset in children through quizzes, exhibitions

The Yogi Adityanath administration has decided to launch various initiatives under the National Invention Campaign in Uttar Pradesh with the goal of fostering curiosity-based education and a scientific mindset among upper-primary school students, according to an official statement today.

The government also wants to promote experimentation and make science, math, and technology more accessible. The government has therefore issued instructions for the implementation of activities at the district and development block levels, according to the statement. These initiatives include setting up science fairs at the district level, quiz competitions at the block level, and arranging field trips for kids from within and outside the state.

For the execution of these programs, the state government has approved a budget of Rs 17.46 crore in the Annual Action Plan and Budget for 2023-24, which is being released to the districts. It is noteworthy that the “National Invention Campaign” is being conducted by the Ministry of Education of the Government of India. UP: Yogi govt goes strict on officials not responding to calls of public representatives

According to an official statement from the state government on Wednesday, the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh has ordered all departmental officers to answer calls from public representatives or to leave a message if they are unable to do so due to special circumstances.

Officials said that the government has given a strong message to the officers who do not pick up the calls of public representatives (Members of Parliament and Legislature) and ordered them to follow the courtesy and permissible protocol towards the members of Parliament and Legislature.
As per the order, action will be taken against officers not doing so on a priority basis under the relevant provisions. The officers have been given 15 days’ time by the government to save the mobile numbers of public representatives on their phones.
It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday, a member had raised this matter before the Chief Minister, to which Finance Minister Suresh Khanna assured that strict steps will be taken in this regard. In the same sequence, an order in this regard was issued by the government late in the evening to the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Secretaries of all the departments, the official statement said.

The order claims that despite numerous orders to respect public representatives, compliance is not occurring. The issued directive instructs all district and sub-district officers of various departments to be directed to compulsorily save the CUG mobile numbers of Members of Parliament and Legislatures from their regions, along with any other mobile numbers noted by them, in their mobile phones, the official release said. This is in response to complaints received from public representatives.

Additionally, in situations where they are unable to answer calls due to important meetings or court appearances, they should ensure that a message is sent along with the callback information to ensure awareness.
The order also specifies that strict action will be taken by the government against officers who do not adhere to the order. According to the provisions, in cases where representatives’ calls are not answered or a call back is not made, action will be taken on a priority basis.
