Shooting for the second season wrapped late in 2024, yet the production is currently busy reshaping major facets before its premiere.

Expanding the Citadel Universe

Citadel was developed as a global franchise of storytelling with interconnecting spin-offs customized for various regions. Besides the main series, other adaptations like Citadel: Diana (Italy) and Citadel: Honey Bunny (India) were produced. Although these versions have attracted interest, their fate now depends on the success of the next second season of the main series.

Indian Spin-Off Faces Uncertainty

Citadel: Honey Bunny, which stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was launched to much fanfare and found support with the audience quite rapidly. The Indian version of ‘Citadel’ has unveiled its first poster, featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in dynamic roles. Titled ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, the Hindi series is the brainchild of popular creators Raj and DK.

The title was revealed at a Prime Video event in Mumbai, attended by the show’s team. Varun and Samantha expressed their excitement about working on ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, where they play characters named Honey and Bunny, respectively.

Varun shared his gratitude, saying, “I want to express my gratitude to Prime Video for backing us and Raj and DK for giving me this opportunity. I remember when I saw Family Man I picked up a call and had a word with DK and told him that I am a big fan of your work and I really want to know how can I collaborate with you…he told me that we are in talks with Russo brothers for some project and now it’s here.”

After serving as an executive producer for ‘To Kill A Tiger’, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to star in ‘The Bluff’, directed by Frank E Flowers.

Priyanka announced her new project on Instagram, quoting Mark Twain: “Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.”

Hollywood actor Karl Urban is reportedly in talks to join the cast of ‘The Bluff’. Set in the 19th century Caribbean, the film follows a former female pirate (played by Priyanka) who must protect her family when her past catches up with her.

‘The Bluff’ is produced by AGBO Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, directed and co-written by Frank E. Flowers. This will be Priyanka’s second project with The Russo Brothers after starring in their Amazon Original series ‘Citadel’.

Recently, Priyanka became an executive producer for the Oscar-nominated documentary ‘To Kill A Tiger’. She expressed her excitement about joining the team and the global distribution rights acquired by Netflix for the film.

‘To Kill a Tiger’, directed by Nisha Pahuja, tells the story of Ranjit, a poor farmer whose daughter Kiran was a victim of a brutal sexual assault. Despite facing pressure from the village to drop charges against the accused, Ranjit and his wife Jiganti refused. The film is set in Jharkhand, where Priyanka Chopra Jonas was born.

The documentary has won numerous awards, including Best Documentary at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Amplify Voices Award at TIFF. It was also nominated for Best Feature Documentary at the Canadian Screen Awards and made the Oscar documentary shortlist.

Priyanka Chopra will also be seen in ‘Heads of State’, alongside John Cena and Idris Elba, and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

And now, I was confident enough to talk about that phase in my life. Now where I am, I was okay enough to kind of articulate what I felt.” Further, she added, “I had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred, but I forgave. I moved on a long time ago, and I made my peace with it. That’s why it was easy for me to talk about it in a normal manner in a safe space.”

The trailer of the global spy series from Anthony and Joe Russo was scheduled to release on March 2. As per Deadline, the makers decided to delay the trailer launch in light of the tragic events in Greece where a passenger train collided with a freight train, claiming at least 38 lives, with scores of others injured. ‘Citadel’ will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, April 28, with two adrenaline-fueled episodes, followed by a new episode released weekly every Friday through May 26
