In recent days, the tender compassion children sometimes exhibit was well put in evidence as a heart-melting video flooded social media. It was about a desperate little girl trying her best to save a freezing cat and got huge praise for this action from various viewers, many of whom think this reflects a great future.

This is the moment in the video as the girl weeps tearfully as she tries to warm up the cat by blowing dry hair on it. With tears streaming down her face, she keeps trying until the animal starts warming up.

Fortunately, yes. The lovely video footage captures the cat as she gradually regained strength until she could sip milk wearing a snug sweater. The little girl’s determination paid off to save the feline from this terrible situation.

The incident happened in China. Her 39-year-old father initially posted the video on Douyin, the country’s social media platform. This video, captioned “After two hours of persistence and effort, the kitten finally came back to life,” made its way into the people’s attention.

The video features sketches created by the Chinese social media users representing the girl’s selfless act of kindness. Very soon, the touching story spread to other platforms: Instagram. An account named Mothership shared the video. Captioned with, “You didn’t ask to cry today, but admin delivered.”

The girl’s gesture went viral and was showered with love and praise on social media. One of the Instagram users commented, “So sweet and kind of her. I’m glad the kitty is fine now.” Another added, “This made me emotional. She’s an angel.” A third user wrote, “Aww, she is a gem,” while a fourth shared, “Bless her. I hope she can grow up and help more animals in the future.

Such acts of kindness are nothing new. Last year, two boys were hailed heroes on social media after a video showed them rescuing a dog trapped on a narrow ledge. The boys fearlessly waded through drain water to save the frightened animal, much like a similar spirit of compassion and courage.

A woman was taken into police custody after she allegedly kidnapped her tenant’s three-year-old son to fulfill her sister-in-law’s wish for a male child. The incident occurred in Kamla Nagar, and police successfully rescued the boy from Amroha.

The toddler went missing on October 4 while playing outside his house. His father filed a complaint at the Kamla Market police station, prompting an investigation. Police reviewed CCTV footage, which revealed the child accompanied by a minor suspect heading toward a nearby market.

Upon tracking down the minor, authorities learned that he acted under the instructions of his mother, who is the landlady of the victim’s family. The boy was intended to be handed over to his aunt in Amroha.

In their investigation, police arrested the landlady, who confessed that her sister-in-law, having two daughters, wanted a male child, leading to the conspiracy to abduct the tenant’s son. The boy was rescued from the custody of the landlady’s sister-in-law and her brother, and he has since been reunited with his family.

The Role of Parental Emotions in Shaping a Child’s Happiness: A Holistic Approach

What is the role of parents in shaping a child’s happiness? What does a child pick up from his parents? Everything. If a parent is negative, the parent is directly feeding the child’s mind, not only with negative thoughts, but also with negative emotions, which become the foundation of the child’s future.

Therefore, parents have to be very careful about the emotions afloat in their lives. Emotion is energy in motion. Emotions are thoughts, feelings, actions — everything comes from emotions. Therefore, if parents have emotions of anger, hate, vengefulness, jealousy, if parents have emotions of fear, worry, stress, anxiety, then this automatically permeates to a child and shapes the child’s future.

We don’t really have to teach a child. The child automatically learns. And therefore, if we want children to learn to be happy or to build happy and positive emotions in their life, then we must become role models. And it is not just about how we act in front of our child. Regardless, the child will sense and pick up our emotions, the reality of our life.

Let us consider the example of a child who grows up with parents who are constantly bickering. The child will automatically develop the same in his life. Such a child will often remain unhappy, disgruntled, negative, because how much ever the mother or father may try to teach the child, more than what the child will learn from being taught, is what the child will pick up from the emotions that fill his home, the world around him, his environment. Therefore, it is up to us, as parents, as to what emotions we fill our homes or lives with. Isn’t it unfortunate that today, men and women are at loggerheads? Sadly, the one who suffers the most is their child. The child is injected with toxic emotions, negative emotions, which we call NEP, Negative Energy Poison. How can the child live with PEP — Positive Energy that has Power? How can the child develop emotions like courage, confidence, faith, enthusiasm, compassion, optimism, forgiveness, when the child sees his parents living in depression, anger, or anguish?

If the parents are fighting with each other, whatever be the reason, whoever be at fault, the child will not understand that. But the child will pick up the emotional exchange between the mother and the father, the tension, the stress, the misery. Therefore, it is advisable, that parents must not let negative emotions appear in front of their child. Children from broken homes or violent homes or homes where parents are divorced all experience trauma, sadness and anger in varying degrees.

Intelligent parents keep their differences, their arguments and fights away from their child’s presence. Sometimes this may be possible, sometimes it may not be possible. Some parents understand that they play such a vital role in shaping their child’s future, their child’s emotions, their child’s happiness that they are willing to suppress some of their personal feelings for the sake of their child’s future. But at times, what can one do? There is no choice and differences between parents become apparent to the child. Then that unhappy marriage or that bad relationship between the parents, unfortunately, becomes a role model, the foundation, the very raw material of the child’s future. Happy couples will have happy children but unfortunately, unhappy couples cannot have anything but unhappy children.

One thing that we often don’t take into account is the magic of Karma. Karma is the law of action and reaction. If a child has good Karma, then despite bad emotions in the parents, the child may flower and blossom in bliss and on the other hand, despite being born to a perfectly happy couple, if the child is carrying negative Karma, then we may find that the child ends up with an unhappy future.

What we can do as parents, is to foster happiness in our child’s presence so that the child can pick up only positivity — love, forgiveness, kindness, brotherhood, companionship. We should not let any negative, toxic emotions reach our child. This is the best we can do.

In a tragic incident captured in a heart-wrenching video from Telangana, a young girl was run over by a car while she was asleep in a parking space of a residence. The unfortunate incident occurred in Hayat Nagar RTC Colony, located in Rangareddy District. The victim, a girl of approximately two and a half years old, tragically lost her life.

According to police officials mentioned in an IANS report, the child’s mother, who was working at a nearby construction site, brought her to the parking area to shield her from the intense heat. She placed the girl on the ground to sleep.

The driver of the car, identified as Hari Rama Krishna, an interior designer, was responsible for the reckless incident involving the toddler. Notably, Krishna’s wife works as a sub-inspector in the Prohibition & Excise department. The family of the child had recently relocated to the city from Karnataka. The couple worked as construction laborers and are now left devastated, with their seven-year-old son as the sole survivor.

Targeting microbiome can improve child under nutrition according to research

A recent research led by Queen Mary University of London suggests that targeting gut microbiome development to tackle child undernutrition in lower and middle income countries instead of just focusing on human nutritional needs, can improve child growth and development more effectively.

The study, which was published today in Nature Communications, found that changes in a child’s diet and household sanitation in rural Zimbabwe have little impact on the microbiome of their gut and, consequently, their growth and development. Furthermore, the study found that early gut microbe genetic function, rather than the types of microbes present in the gut, can predict how well a child will grow over the next few months.

One of the first studies to look at the evolution of the gut microbiome in low- and middle-income nations. The phrase “gut microbiome” refers to the billions of distinct microorganisms that inhabit the human gut and are crucial for early-life developmental processes like immune system development, hormone generation, and nutrition metabolism. Since childhood illnesses and mortality are substantially greater in low- and middle-income nations, where undernutrition affects more than 1 in 5 children, most research on the gut microbiome’s impact in child development has come from high-income settings. Researchers from the University of British Columbia, Devil’s Staircase Consulting, and Queen Mary University of London conducted the study. 335 children from rural Zimbabwe, ranging in age from 1 to 18 months, had their gut microbiomes examined by researchers using metagenome sequencing technology.

First author Dr Ruairi Robertson from Queen Mary University of London said:
“This study provides the scientific community with a very large resource of gut microbiome data from children in a rural, non-Western setting throughout early childhood, which will allow researchers around the world to analyse and compare with similar datasets from children in high-income settings.
“This study also provides important data for public health in low-and-middle-income countries where early-life infections, diarrheal disease, child mortality and undernutrition are much more common.”

Delhi: Feared woman throws her child from third floor
