She was actively messaging and reachable on the phone until about 4 PM, after which we lost contact with her and the others.”

Orampati’s father, Subhash Chandra Reddy, runs Max Agri Genetics Private Limited in Hyderabad. Aryan had completed his engineering degree at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore. Reddy shared, “His parents were in the US in May for his graduation ceremony at the University of Texas. After the ceremony, they asked him to return to India, but he chose to stay in the US for another two years. Unfortunately, fate had other plans.”

Shaik, also from Hyderabad and residing in Bentonville, had gone to the US three years ago to complete his MS degree. His father, Masthan Vali, a retired private employee living in BHEL Hyderabad, said, “My daughter, who lives in the US, is currently managing the situation.”

Reports indicate that a speeding truck rear-ended the SUV, causing it to burst into flames and resulting in the deaths of all its occupants. Authorities are using DNA fingerprinting and analyzing teeth and bone fragments to identify the victims. “DNA fingerprinting will be conducted, and samples will be compared with those of the parents,” stated a local authority.

Mumbai BMW hit-and-run: Police Launch Manhunt For Son of Shiv Sena Official, After Fatal

Police have deployed six teams to locate Mihir Shah (24), son of a Shiv Sena official, who is on the run after the BMW he was driving fatally struck a 45-year-old woman riding pillion on a scooter with her husband. Authorities have issued a lookout notice to prevent him from leaving the country.

CCTV footage is being scrutinized to confirm Mihir’s presence behind the wheel during the accident.

His father, Rakesh Shah, holds a position in the Shiv Sena faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Palghar. The car was found abandoned in Kala Nagar, Bandra (east), 10 km from the accident site, at around 7 am. Police used GPS to track it down and apprehended the Shah family chauffeur with the vehicle, which has been seized. The car’s windshield sticker was defaced, and its rear registration plate was missing upon discovery. Rakesh Shah arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and both were taken to the police station.

The victim, Kaveri Nakhwa, and her husband Pradip, residents of Wori Koliwada, were returning from purchasing fish near Crawford Market when the incident occurred on Dr. Annie Besant Road. Both were thrown off the scooter onto the car’s bonnet, with the BMW accelerating while they were still on it. The husband, injured in the incident, searched for his wife but couldn’t find her. She was later discovered near the Worli end of the sea link, 2 km away, and was pronounced dead at Nair Hospital, Mumbai Central.

A case under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, has been registered at Worli police station.

Mihir had been at a bar in Juhu with friends until 1:30 am after leaving home around midnight with the family chauffeur from Borivali for a drive. At Marine Drive, Mihir reportedly took over the wheel from the chauffeur.

Police confirmed Mihir’s absconding status, noting his mother and sisters are also unreachable as their residence is locked. Authorities are investigating whether Mihir attempted to contact his father post-accident. Rakesh Shah, who arrived at Worli police station and was questioned, claimed ignorance about his son’s whereabouts, learning of the incident only after receiving calls.

The car, registered in the father’s name, had expired insurance as of May. Mihir, educated up to class 10, had been involved in managing his father’s construction material supply business.

Aaditya Thackeray, MLA from Worli constituency, visited the police station to meet the victim’s husband and senior officials, urging stringent action in the case. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asserted that no one would be spared in the hit-and-run case, emphasizing equal treatment under the law regardless of position or political affiliation.

Transport officials and forensic experts visited the police station on Sunday to examine the BMW involved in the incident.

Playing Outside Father’s Shop Toddler Struck By Speeding Car, Dies

Police at DLF Phase 3 police station have lodged an FIR against Sunny following an incident where a two-year-old boy playing outside his father’s shop with his sibling was fatally hit by a car in Gurgaon. The tragic event occurred around 1 pm on Thursday, according to authorities.

The boy, identified as Jigar Saini, was playing near the iron staircase of the shop when he was struck by a white Brezza while accompanied by his four-year-old sister. His father, Krishna Malakar from Bihar’s Samastipur, recounted, “I was at my shop. Both my children were playing near the iron staircase in front of the shop. I saw a white car approaching at high speed. I signalled to the driver to stop, but he did not. The car ran over my son. The driver then tried to flee, but people around caught him. He identified himself as Sunny, a resident of Nathupur,” as per the complaint.

The child was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

While an FIR has been filed against Sunny at DLF Phase 3 police station, authorities have not yet confirmed his arrest.

Kanpur Minor Detained for Fatal Hit-and-Run; Probed in Separate Case

Amidst the nationwide outcry over the Porsche hit-and-run deaths and demands for justice for the two deceased IT professionals, Kanpur Police have taken action against a minor involved in a similar incident. The minor, son of a prominent doctor, was sent to a juvenile home after allegedly driving his father’s car into and killing two people in October 2023.

The police have also initiated proceedings against the minor in another hit-and-run case, where he injured four individuals in Kanpur’s Barra area. The minor has not yet reached the legal driving age.

Sources indicate that an investigation has been launched against certain local police officers for their alleged inaction in the case. It was reported that the minor remained free despite apparent involvement in both incidents.

Harish Chandra, the additional commissioner of police (Law and Order), informed reporters of a departmental inquiry into the delayed filing of charges against the minor. “On October 27, 2023, a case was registered for a hit-and-run incident resulting in two deaths. The case was filed under IPC Section 304 A. Further investigation revealed that a minor was driving the vehicle. He was detained and brought before the Juvenile Justice Board on May 21, and has been sent to a juvenile correctional centre,” ACP Harish Chander stated.

Chander also mentioned another earlier hit-and-run case involving the same minor. “The father was also booked alongside the minor. Action will be taken against the officers responsible for not filing a chargesheet in the previous case,” he added.

Pune Car Accident: Victim’s Father Calls for Legal Action

After a tragic Pune car accident claimed the lives of two individuals, including his daughter, Ashwini Koshta, the father of the deceased demands strict legal action against the accused to serve as a deterrent to others.

“Ashwini’s father insists that the law should take action against the accused according to the constitution and existing laws so that people learn a lesson from this,” stated a source close to the family.

Regarding parents who allow minors to drive, he emphasized, “That is wrong. Until our children come of age, we didn’t let them drive. We could have given them cars, but they should first learn how to drive.”

The car accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday after a luxury car collided with their motorcycle near Kalyani Nagar in Pune, resulting in the untimely demise of Ashwini Koshta and another victim, Anis Awadhiya.

Providing insight into Ashwini’s life, her brother mentioned, “She turned 24 in January and had completed her education at a college in Pune, then she got a job during the lockdown. She had been in Pune for 6 years. She excelled in her studies and was among the top students.”

“We were two siblings, and she was younger than me. She had spoken to Dad last, even on the day of the incident, telling him about going to a party for dinner. We received the news that night. Her friends called us from her phone; they knew the password, so they called using her phone, and that’s how we found out.

They told us that a speeding car hit them from behind. We were just told that there was an accident, so we immediately rushed out that night. According to the law, there should be a proper investigation, and that’s all we want,” he added, urging for action against the accused.

Meanwhile, Pune City Police arrested the bar owner and the bar manager who served liquor to the minor accused on the night of the accident. Earlier in the day, police detained the father of the minor accused in the Pune car accident case, said police officials.

Uttarakhand: Five Dead After Car Falls Into A Deep Ditch

In a tragic incident, a car fell into a deep ditch in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, causing the death of five people and leaving one grievously injured on Saturday.

As per Superintendent of Police (SP) of the city, Pramod Kumar, the car had lost the control and as a result, it fell into a deep pitch in which 5 people died and one girl got grievously injured.

Currently, the girl (Nancy) is undergoing treatment and as further revealed by SP, her condition is critical.

As Kumar also added, the car consisted of seven members. Out of which, 4 were boys two were girls. All of them were the students at Dehradun IMS College. They had come to Mussoorie for the trip.

They were returning to Dehradun in the morning, when this incident happened.

He also said that following this accident, emergency response teams arrived in the scene including Mussoorie Police, Fire Service, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The response teams managed to rescue two girls. And later they were sent to hospital.

But unfortunately, one of the girls succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Thus, raising the death toll to five.

US: 3 Indian Women Killed in SUV Crash in South Carolina

Three women from Gujarat died in a tragic car accident in the US. Rekhaben Patel, Sangitaben Patel, and Manishaben Patel, who were all residents of Anand district in Gujarat, lost their lives when their SUV veered off the road and plunged over a bridge in Greenville County, South Carolina.

As per the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the SUV was traveling northbound on the highway when it swerved across all lanes, climbed an embankment, and launched approximately 20 feet into the air before colliding with trees on the other side of the bridge.

Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis informed news channel WSPA, stating, “It is obvious they were traveling above the posted speed limit.” He further clarified that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The vehicle was discovered lodged in a tree, fragmented into several pieces, indicating the force with which it collided with its surroundings.

“Very seldom do you see a vehicle that leaves the roadway at such a high rate of speed that it jumps 4-6 lanes of traffic and lands in the trees approximately 20 feet,” Mr Ellis said, describing the unprecedented accident.

“Right now, it appears the vehicle is on its wheels, but when the vehicle jumped all four lanes of traffic, it probably struck trees at least 20 feet above the ground,” he told local media.

Emergency response teams, including the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Gannt Fire and Rescue, and several Greenville County EMS units, hurried to the scene.

The only survivor of the accident was reportedly injured and hospitalized, with the condition remaining uncertain. The vehicle’s detection system notified some family members about the crash, prompting them to alert local authorities in South Carolina.

Family of the man allegedly killed by CM Maryam Nawaz’s motorcade receives PKR 2.5 million in compensation

In response to the incident involving Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s protocol vehicle, the government has issued a PKR 2.5 million cheque to the family of the deceased youth, who tragically lost his life five days ago in the alleged accident, as reported by Dawn.

Following the chief minister’s directives, Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza and MPA Ahmad Iqbal visited the home of the victim, Muhammad Abubakar, in village Jasar. They offered their condolences to the grieving parents and conveyed the chief minister’s sympathies. On behalf of the chief minister, they presented a PKR 2.5 million cheque to Abubakar’s father, Fakhr Ayaz, according to Dawn.

MPA Ahmad Iqbal expressed the government’s shared sorrow with the victim’s family.

The incident occurred on April 18 when 23-year-old Abubakar tragically lost his life in an accident allegedly involving the chief minister’s protocol car on the Narowal-Shakargarh Road. Narowal police reports indicated that two motorcycles, one of which belonged to Abubakar, collided with each other, and subsequently, a ‘government vehicle’ struck him, resulting in his untimely demise.

Maryam Nawaz promptly took notice of the incident and requested a comprehensive report from the DC regarding the matter. Abubakar was employed at a filling station, while his father, Fakhr Ayaz, worked as a laborer. The chief minister also directed the authorities to take necessary legal actions against the driver of the official vehicle, Dawn reported.

Maryam’s motorcade was involved in another incident where it allegedly hit a motorcyclist while she was traveling from Narowal to Kartarpur for the three-day celebrations of the Baisakhi festival. Despite the accident, the CM’s motorcade did not stop to take the injured to the hospital.

Ali Rizwan, a cousin of the deceased, mentioned that Abubakar was heading from home to a filling station where he was employed. Upon hearing the news of his son’s death, Abubakar’s father, Fakhar Ayaz, fainted from shock and was subsequently treated at the District Headquarters Hospital, Narowal.

Previously, at least three individuals were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Assam’s Dhubri district’s Gopalganj area.

The accident happened on National Highway 17 near Gopalganj Belguri. Jahirul and Naseer have been recognized as the deceased. According to a police officer, the three people on the bike perished on the scene after colliding with a truck traveling from the opposite direction.
The truck was confiscated by police, but the truck driver fled the scene after the crash.

Sitapur: Two killed, 2 injured after car falls into 70-ft deep pit

According to officials, two people were murdered and two others were injured when their automobile collided with a divider and plunged into a 70-foot deep ditch along the banks of the Gon River in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur.

A speeding car travelling from Lucknow to Sitapur crashed with a divider and slid into the pit, according to officials. The collision gravely injured four persons, who were taken to a local hospital. Two of them died while undergoing treatment. The other two are claimed to be in critical condition, and the cause of the accident is said to be overspeeding.

Narendra Pratap Singh, ASP, Southern, stated that the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kamlapur police station. A crane was used to lift the vehicle out of the pit.

According to intelligence, four passengers were headed towards Sitapur when their automobile lost control at the curve of the Gon river in front of Kuliganj Baba in the Kamlapur district and plunged into a 70-foot-deep pit after colliding with a barrier.

Locals noticed the accident and summoned an ambulance as well as the police. According to the police, local officers arrived on the scene and began the rescue operation.

According to authorities, all four were taken to a hospital, where two died during treatment. The other two were stated to be in critical condition and had been referred to Lucknow’s trauma centre. “We are looking into the accident further,” they stated.

Himachal: 4 killed as car falls into gorge in Sirmaur

According to police, four people were killed when a car fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district on Tuesday morning.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sangrah Mukesh Kumar, stated that “Four people died in an accident after a car fell into a gorge near Pabor in Rajgarh Lana Cheta Marg, Sirmaur district on Tuesday at 5:30 am.”

The victims were identified as Kamal Raj (40), Jeevan Singh (63), Suma Devi (54) and Rekha (25). Three people died on the scene, according to police, and one woman died before reaching the hospital. More information in the matter is awaited.

Shimla: 3 killed as car rolls off road

When his BMW car collided with a road divider at the Roorkee border on Friday, Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Max hospital in Dehradun.

Five family members along with three kids succumb to a road accident in Ludhiana

A car carrying five members of a family, including three kids, was quashed on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway near Veer Palace on Monday night.

The victims were identified as Rajesh Kumar aged 35, of New Madhopuri, his sister-in-law (wife’s sister) Sanjana, 30, and three children – Mahi, 5; Jasmin, 5; and Khushi, 3.

Kumar’s wife Priya, 32, has been admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

The family was driving from Chandigarh to Ludhiana when the driver lost control of the speeding car around 2.30 a.m. The car collided with a wall before flipping over.

The force of the fatal crash killed three of the travellers on the spot, while another two died in the hospital from their injuries.

Meanwhile, five members of a Ludhiana-based family, including three women and two infants, were killed and two others were injured when their car collided with a tanker on the Jalandhar-Amritsar national highway in Kapurthala district on June 19. The family was on their way back from Amritsar after paying their respects at the Golden Temple.
