Anushka looked gorgeous as she wore a pink tube top that she matched with a pair of shimmer pants. She opted for soft glam makeup and accessorized her look with Prada jewellery by Cartier. Anushka tied her hair in a ponytail.

Douglas received the honorary Palme d’Or at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. He also received a lengthy standing ovation as he cruised on stage in Bunuel theatre to chair a masterclass session where he broke down his career as an actor and producer, Deadline reported. Opening the session, Douglas said that he has a long history with the Cannes Film Festival, which began with his father, Kirk, who met his stepmother Anna at the festival.

He went on to list some of the films he has brought to the Croisette over the years, including Steven Soderbergh’s pic Behind the Candelabra, which screened in 2013. Douglas said that at the time, his performance as Liberace in the pic was in the pole position to nab the Festival’s Best Actor prize, but his momentum was quashed by critics who said the project couldn’t be described as a feature film because it was set to be released on HBO in the US.

Murugan who is leading the Indian delegation at the ongoing year’s Cannes Film Festival and attended the event in a traditional outfit than a Western. Taking to his Twitter handle, Murugan shared pictures from the film festival along with a note in his regional language.

The note read, “As a Tamilian, I am proud to participate in the red carpet reception of the world-famous Cannes Film Festival today wearing the Veshti shirt, a traditional symbol of Tamil.” He also posed with the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ producer Guneet Monga.

Sharing the short clip featuring his entry at the event and a glimpse of actor Esha Gupta on the red carpet.

Sharing the video, he wrote, “It is a proud moment for every Indian and Tamil to step on the world stage wearing the #G20India, traditional dress emblazoned with our national flag at this moment when India is chairing the G20 summit.”

In the picture, Murugan is dressed in a white shirt which got the national flag on its left side and a G20 logo on the right. He paired it with ‘Veshti’ to represent his culture at the global level. Guneet, on the other hand, opted for a golden-tone saree.

Ahead of Cannes, Murugan told News Agency, “The embroidery on the shirt has been done by my local tailor. It makes me immensely proud to wear the tricolour on my chest.”

“Since we are doing so many events and showcasing our heritage at the G20 year-long plan, it is only fit that we tell the world about it,” he added.

Murugan went to the event last year too and India was the Country of Honour.

Like last year when India had a series of celebrities on the red carpet, this time Manushi Chillar, Indian actor, model, and the winner of the Miss World 2017, Esha Gupta – acclaimed actor of the Indian Cinema and Kangabam Tomba – acclaimed Manipuri actor would walk the red carpet.

Four Indian films have made it to the official selection at Cannes Film Festival. Kanu Behl’s ‘Agra’ will be his second film to have its world premiere at Cannes, at the Directors’ Fortnight. His 2014 debut film, ‘Titli’, was unveiled at the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section.

Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’ is being screened in Midnight Screenings and Nehemich in the La Cinef section of the Festival de Cannes. Apart from these, many Indian films are slotted for being screened in Marche du Films.

A restored Manipuri film ‘Ishanhou’, will be showcased in the ‘Classics’ section. The movie was previously played in the festival’s ‘Un Certain Regard’ section in 1991 and the National Film Archives of India preserved its film reels. The Manipur State Film Development Society got the film restored through the Film Heritage Foundation & Prasad Film Labs.

India will continue its push for being the content hub of the world, and a one-stop destination from conceiving to making films to doing post-production including graphics and animation and other modern techniques and tools. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur had spoken about it during his visit to the festival last year.

This year’s special focus will be on India’s culture and heritage at the India Pavilion. The theme for this year’s Pavilion is based on the Goddess of knowledge, Saraswati. It has been designed by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad with the theme – ‘Showcasing India’s Creative Economy’ to the global community.

The pavilion design has been inspired by the Saraswati Yantra, the abstract representation of the goddess Saraswati, keeper of knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. The colours of the pavilion draw inspiration from the vibrant colours of India’s national flag – saffron, white, green, and blue.

Saffron for the strength and courage of the country, white for inner peace and truth, green for showcasing fertility, growth, and auspiciousness of the land, and blue for the law of dharma and truth. India has a vast reservoir of talent and the Indian Pavilion will provide the platform to the Indian film community to sign distribution deals, greenlight scripts, crack production collaborations, and simply network with the world’s major entertainment and media players.

Among the top highlight of last year’s festival was the premiere of R. Madhavan’s Film Rocketry.

Anurag Thakur, who will not be physically present at the festival, will address the inaugural through a video message.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Guardian, she opened up about what’s a day like in the life of Dolly Singh, how she balances her professional and personal life, her family and friends’ reaction to her Cannes debut, and her Rad Living candle collection.

Dolly shared she generally shoots in the morning. And if she doesn’t have anything to post or if she has to post a video right away, she also sits on an edit, finishes the editing, and then starts working on other projects. Further, she added scripting happens mostly at night because her creativity comes out better at night, it’s a long day process, and there’s no stopping when you are your own boss. No two days look the same.

Dolly also spilled beans on how she balances her personal and professional life. “There’s no way to manage it. Content is such that you keep looking for inspiration everywhere, so even in your personal life, if you are out, your mind is constantly working, and you are open to observation.” Dolly shared that in the last two years, she tried to have a more personal life and personal area of interest that does not relate to her work in general.

Singh shared her friends and family’s reaction to her Cannes debut. She appreciates her team and agency OML Entertainment. “It was a great moment for me. I was very overwhelmed in a very nice way. Beginning of a lot of stress as well. All my friends are excited, and when I told my mom I’m going to Cannes she asked me if I wasn’t coming back home, since I haven’t been to home for so long.”

She also talked about her Rad Living candle collection. “It’s a wonderful phase. She is delighted to partner with Rad Living to give her audience an immersive experience. This step has a lot to do. My father sold candles in his gift shop in Nanital, and my mother manufactured candles at home and sold them to retailers around town. My connection with candles is not a newfound fascination but travels back to my childhood.”

Dolly Singh is well-known for her work on the OTT series Modern Love: Mumbai, Double XL, and Butterflies and whose mainstream film, whose title is currently being kept a secret, will be making her official debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Later this month, Singh will go to the French Riviera, where she will attend official film screenings at the venerable Grand Lumiere Theatre and walk the red carpet.
