The party urges international intervention amid accusations of political persecution and human rights violations.
</excerpt>

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are reportedly being subjected to increasingly harsh and degrading prison conditions, sparking fresh concerns over political persecution and human rights violations. According to Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, both have faced psychological torment, with Bibi’s health said to be deteriorating significantly due to extreme heat and poor treatment.

Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari, a trusted aide to Khan, accused the prison staff of intentionally sending substandard fans, reducing electricity at the hottest time of the day, and even distributing polluted water to Bibi. He termed it emotionally focused abuse aimed at crushing the couple’s morale. “By torturing her, they know how much it pains Imran Khan,” he maintained.

Khan and Bibi were found guilty earlier this year in the Al-Qadir Trust case and received sentences of 14 and 7 years respectively on charges of suspected corruption related to land and money laundering. PTI insists that the charges are politically motivated. As Khan enters his second year behind bars, he is confronted with close to 150 other cases from corruption to terrorism.

The party also claimed Khan has been kept in prolonged isolation without access to legal counsel, undermining PTI’s political coordination. “We don’t have direction on what Imran Khan wants on certain matters,” Bukhari noted.

The development has elicited little global reaction. “Plenty of countries that chant so much about democracy and human rights don’t notice what is occurring within a country of 250 million,” Bukhari complained, blaming the international community for its silence regarding Pakistan’s democratic regression.

Khan’s sons recently issued public appeals for international intervention, including a plea to US President Donald Trump. The PTI also accused prison authorities of mistreating Bibi’s teenage daughter during a failed visit.

Punjab’s home department has yet to respond to the allegations.

</excerpt>

Bushra Bibi, the spouse of Imran Khan, has been granted temporary bail by the District and Sessions Court until January 13 in connection with the protest on November 26, as reported by ARY News.

Judge Shabeer Bhatti oversaw her bail requests. Bushra Bibi appeared in court with her legal team to apply for interim bail concerning four cases filed at the Tarnol police station and three at the Ramana police station. The court authorized her bail after she submitted surety bonds amounting to Rs. 50,000 for each separate case.

Earlier, on December 21, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi approved her interim bail in 32 cases, which is valid until January 13, as stated by her attorney. Bushra Bibi had requested bail for 32 cases, of which 23 were connected to the violence that occurred on May 9. She has now obtained interim bail for cases filed in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal.

Faisal Malik, her attorney, claimed that the charges against Bushra Bibi were driven by political motives and intended for retaliation. He noted that the former first lady had voluntarily surrendered to the ATC, with 23 of the cases having been filed in Rawalpindi alone, according to ARY News.

The protest initiated by the PTI started on November 24, calling for the release of Imran Khan. During this demonstration, PTI caravans traveled from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad, arriving at D-Chowk by November 26, where security forces conducted a late-night operation to disperse the protesters and conclude the demonstration.

In a related occurrence, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram denounced the £190 million corruption charges against Imran Khan and his wife, labeling it as the “worst example of political victimization. ” Speaking at a news conference in Peshawar on November 23, Akram cautioned that the public would not stand for further injustice against Imran Khan.

Pakistani security forces launched a nighttime operation on Tuesday, arresting numerous protesters from former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). These protesters were staging a sit-in in Islamabad, demanding Khan’s release. The operation followed violent clashes two days earlier that left six people dead.

Escalation of Protests

Thousands of Khan’s supporters defied curfew orders and government warnings, breaching barriers in Islamabad’s high-security zone. This led to intense clashes with security forces involving tear gas, gunfire, and mass arrests.

The unrest began on Sunday when Khan’s followers initiated a ‘long march’ from the northwest to Islamabad, calling for his release. Tensions have continued to escalate since then.

Imran Khan’s Legal Battles

Imran Khan has been in prison for over a year and faces more than 150 criminal charges. His party has repeatedly claimed that these charges are politically motivated.

Leadership and Arrests

The protest was initially led by Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi. However, she fled the scene as police intensified their crackdown. Authorities are also seeking to arrest her. Hundreds of PTI supporters have been detained during the ongoing operation, and key party leaders have reportedly fled the protest site.

Security Forces Take Control

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that Islamabad’s red zone, home to government buildings and embassies, had been cleared of protesters. Earlier on Tuesday, the army had secured D-Chowk, a prominent area within the red zone, where Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was staying during an official visit.

Despite the government’s actions, new waves of PTI supporters entered the red zone by Tuesday afternoon, waving party flags in solidarity with Khan.

Fatalities and Violence

Authorities are struggling to contain the violence linked to these protests. Six people, including four security personnel, were killed overnight when a vehicle rammed into them. Additionally, a police officer lost his life in a separate incident.

Government’s Stance

The government insists that only the courts can decide on Khan’s release. They also criticized PTI for rejecting an offer to hold the rally on the outskirts of Islamabad instead of in the city center.

To manage the unrest, police have detained over 4,000 of Khan’s supporters since Friday. Mobile and internet services have been suspended in several regions, and messaging platforms in Islamabad remain severely disrupted.

The situation remains tense as security forces and protesters continue to face off in the capital.

On Tuesday, the US State Department expressed its support for the Pakistani people’s right to protest peacefully. US Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller called on Pakistani authorities to respect human rights and freedoms.

Imran Khan’s Call for Nationwide Protests

The comments from the US came as former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is jailed, called for nationwide protests, with Islamabad as the epicenter. His party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), stated that the protests aim to achieve three main objectives: the revocation of the 26th Amendment, the restoration of the Constitution, and the release of political prisoners.

Clashes Erupt as Protesters March

As thousands of protesters headed to Islamabad, violent clashes erupted between citizens and the police, as per reports. The ongoing unrest has intensified concerns in Pakistan.

US Calls for Peaceful Protests and Lawful Conduct

When asked about the escalating situation, Miller emphasized, “We support freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association. We call on protesters to demonstrate peacefully and avoid violence. At the same time, we urge Pakistani authorities to respect human rights, follow the law, and maintain order.”

Imran Khan’s 470 Days in Jail

Imran Khan has now been imprisoned for over 470 days, PTI reported. Miller also addressed questions about Pakistan’s future, stating, “We support the right of people in Pakistan to protest peacefully. We call on Pakistani authorities to respect human rights and freedoms.”

Bushra Bibi Demands Imran Khan’s Release

Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, joined the calls for his release. As PTI convoys moved toward Islamabad for the “Final Call” protests, Bibi told supporters that the march would not end until Khan was freed, as reported. PTI has launched a nationwide protest to secure his release.

PTI calls for his release as critics question court decisions.
</excerpt>

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan secured bail in the high-profile Toshakhana case from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday. However, his release from jail remains uncertain due to multiple pending cases against him.

Conditions for Bail

The court, presided over by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, granted bail contingent on submitting two bonds worth Rs1 million each. The judge also directed Khan to appear before the trial court after release, warning that non-cooperation could result in bail revocation.

Imran Khan, along with his wife, Bushra Bibi, is accused of illegally keeping and selling state gifts while in office. Both deny the allegations, with Khan maintaining that the cases are politically motivated.

Pending Legal Challenges

Although Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, remains optimistic about his eventual release, at least eight pending cases block his freedom. The former Prime Minister has been sentenced in several cases, but convictions have been overturned on appeal.

PTI’s Reaction and Supporters’ Rally

Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), celebrated the bail decision. PTI MNA Ali Muhammad Khan congratulated the nation, and former senator Faisal Javed demanded his immediate release. Supporters have announced a rally in Islamabad on Sunday to protest, despite a government ban.

Ruling Party’s Criticism

The ruling PML-N criticized the court’s decision, accusing the judiciary of favoritism. Former President Arif Alvi, however, called the verdict a step toward peace and security, urging against further “false cases” against Khan.

</excerpt>

Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, was released from jail on Thursday. She had been arrested alongside Khan in connection with the Toshakhana corruption case. While Khan remains in custody, Bushra was released after nine months. Her release was ordered by Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, who granted her bail for a surety bond of Rs 1 million.

Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party confirmed the news in a WhatsApp message, stating: “Bushra Bibi, the former First Lady, has been released from prison.” The message also mentioned that she was arrested on January 31 after both she and Khan were convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption.

Toshakhana case

In the Toshakhana case, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were accused of profiting from the sale of gifts received from foreign dignitaries. During the bail hearing, Justice Aurangzeb questioned the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) about the necessity for further interrogation of Bushra, to which the FIA responded that no additional investigation was needed. Bushra’s release is a source of relief for both the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and Khan, who has consistently asserted that his wife had no involvement in the case.

</excerpt>

In a significant development, an anti-corruption court in Pakistan on Tuesday cleared Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, of all charges in 12 cases linked to the violent riots that erupted on May 9 last year. The riots followed the arrest of Khan in Islamabad on corruption charges, leading to widespread unrest across the country.

Court’s Decision at Adiala Jail

The hearing was presided over by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ejaz Asif at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Bushra Bibi is currently detained alongside her husband. During the proceedings, the police sought the physical remand of Bibi to further investigate her alleged involvement in the riots, which included an attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ).

However, after a detailed review of the police’s request and the arguments presented by both sides, the court rejected the plea for physical remand. The judge ultimately decided to discharge Bibi from all 12 cases. According to her lawyer, Salman Safdar, the accusations against her were based on statements that lacked legal substance. “The court thoroughly reviewed the arguments from both sides before delivering its decision,” Safdar said, addressing the media outside the jail.

Implications for Imran Khan

The court’s decision to clear Bushra Bibi is seen as a major relief for the former first couple, especially as Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for over a year, faces more than 200 cases himself. Safdar suggested that this ruling could positively impact Khan’s own legal battles, as he was also named in the same cases alongside hundreds of his party workers from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Khan, 71, has been convicted in several cases, leading to his ongoing detention at Adiala Jail. Despite securing bail or having convictions overturned in some instances, he remains behind bars. His wife, 49-year-old Bushra Bibi, had also been held in connection with these cases but has now been cleared of all charges.

Broader Context

The May 9 riots were a significant moment in Pakistan’s political landscape, marked by widespread violence and demonstrations. The events were triggered by Khan’s arrest, which led to clashes between his supporters and the authorities. The decision to discharge Bushra Bibi from these cases might influence the legal strategies and outcomes for Khan and other PTI members.

This ruling marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing legal battles faced by the former prime minister and his wife, as they continue to navigate the complex and often tumultuous political environment in Pakistan.

</excerpt>

A Pakistani court docket has acquitted former Prime Minister Imran Khan within the case associated with his unlawful marriage, based on Pakistani media studies Saturday. Nonetheless, Khan was not freed as he’s being held for additional investigation on prices of fomenting riots. The Islamabad District and Sessions Court docket “dismissed charges” towards Khan within the Iddat case, however what got here into extensive public discover was that the official order announcing the acquittal of Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, was written in ‘Comic Sans’ font.

court documents in comic sans…Pakistan..pls https://t.co/z7GmsZTKD2

— Ayesha A. Siddiqi (@AyeshaASiddiqi) July 13, 2024

Yes, you read that right. Comic Sans in a statutory document? Good enough to catch the eye, eagle-eyed readers noticed this rather queer font choice, leading to a wave of amusement online. The court order went viral within no time with a user pointing out, “Court documents in comic sans…Pakistan.pls.” Another mentioned, “The way this country is so not serious”, whereas the third one asked, “Why that font???” IS THIS THE LEVEL OF DOCUMENTATION IN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN??? “”” A fourth simply said “””Comic Sans? Can’t be real…”””

Although there is no kind of font style that is officially declared to be used for legal documents, it is usually Arial, Times New Roman, Century, and Verdana, and Courier New that are in use throughout all instances because of readability and the approval of the courts. The surprising thing was the use of Comic Sans.

Actually, this is not the first time when fonting mistakes have been criticized in Pakistan. Ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was ousted in 2017 by the Supreme Court over a font scandal. Dubbed “Fontgate”, the scandal erupted when a document delivered by Sharif’s family in an attempt to clear the prime minister of any ownership in a slew of high-end London properties was found to be forged, featuring a font, Calibri, not commercially available at the time a document it supposedly dated from February 2006 was written in. That led to headlines and social media quips declaring Pakistan was now “Sans Sharif.”
While the news of Imran Khan’s acquittal itself was serious, the Comic Sans incident added light-hearted, ironic color to it.

</excerpt>

On Saturday Pakistan court acquitted former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, on charges of unlawful marriage. The decision came just a day after Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party secured additional seats in parliament, intensifying pressure on the country’s already fragile government.

“Imran Khan and Bibi sahiba are acquitted,” announced Khan’s lawyer, Naeem Panjutha, on X, using an honorific for Khan’s wife. The PTI party confirmed that with this acquittal by the Islamabad court, no more cases were pending against the 71-year-old Khan that would necessitate his continued imprisonment.

Earlier in February, the couple had been sentenced to seven years for violating Islamic law by not observing the required interval between Bushra Bibi’s divorce from her previous marriage and her marriage to Khan. The recent acquittal has overturned this sentence, leaving uncertainty about their immediate release from jail.

Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated since August, has seen all four of his jail sentences overturned or suspended. Earlier this month, he was acquitted of charges related to leaking state secrets, and his other two sentences were suspended. However, his bail was cancelled last week in connection to the May 2023 violence, where his supporters attacked military installations in protest against his arrest. It remains unclear whether Khan will be remanded in custody on this charge.

Khan faces accusations in several other cases, including charges of violence against the state. Bushra Bibi is also implicated in at least one other charge, where the couple allegedly accepted land as a bribe from a real estate developer during Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister.

The PTI has warned that if Khan remains in jail despite Saturday’s acquittal, it could trigger another political crisis in Pakistan.

The Additional District and Sessions Judge, Afzal Majoka, announced the verdict after it had been reserved earlier in the week. This decision has sparked criticism from lawyers, women activists, and civil society members, who view it as a blow to women’s rights regarding dignity and privacy.

The case revolves around Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s marriage during her Iddat period, a waiting period after divorce or widowhood during which a woman cannot remarry. The court’s decision, coming before the general elections in February, sentenced the couple to seven years in prison each and fined them PKR 500,000 each.

Protests erupted in Islamabad, and demonstrators in Karachi voiced opposition against what they perceive as state interference in personal lives. The Islamabad High Court has directed the sessions court to rule on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s pleas within ten days.

This information was disclosed at a hearing for a £190 million corruption case at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where Imran Khan, a politician who was formerly a cricket player, is being tried on several convictions in Pakistan.

Imran Khan raised concerns about additional walls being erected in the courtroom, creating a closed environment. He mentioned that Dr. Asim Yousaf, the Chief Medical Officer of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, recommended conducting tests for Bushra Bibi at Shifa International Hospital. However, the jail authorities insisted on performing the tests at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.

Following Imran Khan’s remarks about the added walls, the judge instructed authorities to remove the wooden planks during the proceedings. Additionally, the court ordered a medical examination for both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi by Dr. Yousaf.

In response to concerns raised by Bushra Bibi about her health, she had requested Islamabad High Court on April 15 to permit her medical checkup at a private hospital of her choice, suspecting possible poisoning through food provided by the jail authorities. She cited symptoms such as heartburn, throat pain, and mouth discomfort.

Currently, Bushra Bibi, aged 49, is detained at her residence in Banigala, designated as a sub-jail, following her conviction in a corruption case and an illegal marriage case involving Imran Khan.

Recently, Imran Khan accused Army chief General Asim Munir of direct responsibility for Bushra Bibi’s imprisonment.

Dr. Yousuf stated that no evidence of any poisonous substance being administered to the former first lady was found during the examination. “At this time, there is no evidence of Bushra Bibi being poisoned,” Dr. Yousuf said to Geo News, adding, “We are not conducting any medical tests to ascertain the administration of any poisonous substance to Bushra Bibi as no such symptoms are detected,” according to Geo News.

The physician mentioned that Bushra Bibi’s health declined after a meal two months ago. However, she began consuming less food due to health issues, he added. According to Geo News, Dr. Yousuf also mentioned that he was unaware of her actual health issues from two months ago.

Yousuf suggested that medical tests should be conducted considering her age and to examine for any health problems, including stomach-related issues. Additionally, he stated that he would meet the incarcerated PTI founder on Saturday. Regarding Khan’s health, Dr. Yousuf confirmed that the former premier’s condition had improved, noting that his appetite had not fully returned to normal following his recovery from a minor illness.

During a hearing of the USD 190 million settlement case in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, incarcerated former Prime Minister Khan informed the court that his wife was poisoned at the Bani Gala sub-jail. Khan claimed this, stating that the former first lady had marks on her skin and tongue after “being poisoned.” He requested the court to order an inquiry into the incident and a comprehensive medical examination of Bushra Bibi.

Before her court appearance, the former first lady also asserted during her interaction with journalists that “three drops of toilet cleaner” were mixed in her food on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj. She revealed that the food and water served by the jail authority tasted bitter. In response to a question, Bushra stated that “someone” had informed her in jail that toilet cleaner was mixed in her food but refused to disclose the name of the official. “My eyes swell up, I feel pain in my chest and stomach,” the former first lady added.

</excerpt>

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday suspended the 14-year prison term of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case, as reported by The News International.

Justice Aamir Farooq of the IHC presided over the case and mentioned that the appeal challenging the sentence would be scheduled for a hearing after the Eid holidays.

In February, the IHC acknowledged the appeals filed by Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, challenging their convictions in the Toshakhana cases, as reported by Dawn.

An Accountability Court (AC) in Pakistan handed Imran and his wife, Bushra Bibi, a 14-year jail term in the Toshakhana case, just days before the general elections.

Additionally, the court disqualified Khan from holding any public office for the next 10 years. The couple was also fined PKR 1.573 billion as part of the verdict.

Bushra Bibi argued in her appeal that her conviction was influenced by the “power corridors” as reported by Dawn.

She additionally asserted that the conviction relied on the “false statement” of Syed Inamullah Shah, a former comptroller in the Prime Minister’s Office, as per Dawn.

Bibi mentioned that Imran Khan had directed his military secretary to deposit the alleged graft jewellery set in Toshakhana. However, the prosecution claimed that the set was not deposited. Bibi further urged the court to annul the conviction and suspend her sentence until a decision on her appeal is reached, according to Dawn.

Meanwhile, Khan, in his appeal, argued that the trial was conducted in violation of the fundamental right to a fair trial, despite the full cooperation extended by the convicts and their counsels to the court.

The Toshakhana case emerged as a significant issue in national politics following the Election Commission of Pakistan’s disqualification of the PTI chief last year for making “false statements and incorrect declarations”, according to ARY News.

</excerpt>

A district and session court in Islamabad issued an order for the appearance of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, on April 4, Pakistan-based ARY News reported.

Details reveal that Session Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the bail pleas and issued production orders for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. PTI lawyer Khalid Yousaf Choudhary represented the case in court, where the Adiala Jail superintendent was instructed to present Imran Khan on April 4.

According to ARY News, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in two vandalism cases filed against him. Imran Khan had been booked in two cases at Loohi Bheer and Sahala police stations during the party’s long march in Islamabad. Judicial Magistrate Ayesha Kundi acquitted him in both cases.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has instructed the Adiala jail superintendent to organize virtual meetings between Imran Khan and his lawyers until the security concerns are addressed.

According to an ARY News report, IHC stated in its judgment that Imran Khan’s lawyer had mentioned that they were unable to meet their client due to security concerns.

Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has been confronted with more than 100 cases since his removal from office. Presently, he is detained in Adiala Jail due to convictions in cases related to toshakhana, cypher, and an “unlawful” marriage.

According to The International News, a local court has issued a production order for Imran Khan and party leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The order directs the Adiala jail authorities to present them before the court before April 20.

While hearing a petition concerning the Parliament attack case, the district and sessions court issued the production order, requesting the presence of Khan and Qureshi in court proceedings.

As reported by The International News, Khan’s counsel, Naeem Panjotha, presented his arguments before Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas, who presided over the hearing. Panjotha informed the court that the superintendent of Adiala Jail does not comply with court orders. He urged the court to ensure that the jail officials follow the orders and present Khan before it.

He further stated that the jail authorities provided excuses, and the PTI founder was not even being presented for a hearing via video link, according to The International News. In response, the judicial magistrate acknowledged Khan’s detention in Adiala Jail and the challenges arising from the situation.

While acknowledging the option of video link attendance, the magistrate emphasized a preference for physical presence in the e-court. Imran Khan’s lawyer requested the court to instruct the authorities to bring Khan to the courtroom.

Panjotha added that while the internet functions in Adiala Jail, it mysteriously stops working only in the case of the PTI founder. “Adiala jail superintendent is afraid to bring PTI founder on video link,” the counsel said.

Previously, Panjotha had filed a petition requesting Khan’s appearance for a hearing concerning his acquittal in two vandalism cases during a long march. However, Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi rejected the petition citing security concerns.

This is happening at the same time that Imran Khan sought the court on Saturday to overturn his convictions in the Toshakhana and Cypher cases.
In the Toshakhana case, an Accountability Court (AC) in Pakistan last month sentenced Imran and his spouse Bushra Bibi to 14 years in prison. A fine of Rs 1.54 billion was additionally levied.

Dawn claims that Bushra Bibi argued in her appeal that her conviction was the result of the “power corridors”.

She went on to say that Syed Inamullah Shah, a former comptroller in the Prime Minister’s Office, had made a “false statement” that served as the foundation for the conviction.
The prosecution claimed that the graft jewelry set was not deposited in Toshakhana, despite Imran Khan’s instruction to his military secretary to deposit it there, according to Bibi.

According to Dawn, she also asked the court to overturn the verdict and halt her sentence until her appeal was resolved.

In the meantime, Khan contended in his appeal that despite the guilty parties’ and their attorneys’ best efforts to cooperate with the court, the trial was carried out in a way that violated their fundamental right to a fair trial.
On January 29, nevertheless, Judge Bashir “suddenly and illegally” terminated the couple’s opportunity to cross-examine the prosecution’s witnesses.

Sardar Latif Khosa, Imran Khan’s lead attorney, was also running for office and had asked the Supreme Court and higher courts for a general adjournment. However, the trial court turned down his plea for a postponement.
Khan said in his appeal that Khosa’s replacement, Zaheer Abbas, was likewise not given a fair amount of time to prepare his arguments since the court was “under some undue pressure” to reach a decision by February 8.
