‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ Day 3 Box Office Collection: Nani’s Film Has An Impressive First Saturday | Exclusive

‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’, which hit screens on August 29, is doing well at the box office and has received positive reviews from all corners. The Nani-led film netted an impressive Rs 8.50 crore at the domestic box office on Saturday (August 31) and emerged as the top choice of the Telugu audience.

‘Natural Star’ Nani has impressed the audience with his latest release Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which premiered in theatres on August 29. The film collected Rs 9 crore on day 1 and helped the ‘Eega’ actor add another feather to its cap. It then collected Rs 5.85 crore on the second day, witnessing a significant dip in collections. ‘’Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ went on to have a good first Saturday (August 31) and netted Rs 8.50 crore at the domestic box office. Its total collection stands at nearly Rs 23 crore.

‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ is expected to witness a good growth in collection today (September 1) as well as it is a Sunday.

Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, told The Daily Guardian that the terrific performances have worked in the film’s favour.

“The film features a good cast and strong performances especially from Nani and SJ Suryah. Moreover, the screenplay is engaging, ” he said.

It remains to be seen whether these factors help the film stay strong on the weekdays.

‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ is an action-thriller, written and directed by Vivek Athreya of Ante Sundaraniki fame. ‘Stree 2’ Sets 2024 Record with ₹54.35 Crore Opening Day Box Office Collection

Amar Kaushik’s highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy hit Stree premiered in theaters on Independence Day. Featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, the film garnered an impressive ₹54.35 crore on its opening day in India.

On its second day, Bad Newz earned around ₹9.75 crore, marking an impressive growth of over 17 percent compared to its opening day figures. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film also stars Neha Dhupia and includes special cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. The film, however, received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but ripping apart the screenplay.

Did Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ Soar At The Box Office On Second Day?

Indian 2 witnessed limited growth at the Tamil Nadu box office on July 13. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst and tracker, the day 2 collection is expected to be around Rs 14 crore.

“The word of mouth is mixed. As such, I have a conservative figure in mind for the second day. The figure will be in the same range as that of the first day. There might be some growth. As such, I expect the figure to be near about Rs 14 crore. The shows are going housefull in some cities. The mixed word of mouth is not affecting the film right now in Tamil Nadu. However, we will get a better idea on Monday,” he told The Daily Guardian

Indian 2 also opened to a fair response in the Telugu states. It, however, failed to find takers in Hindi.

About ‘Indian 2’

‘Indian 2’, helmed by maverick filmmaker S Shankar, is a vigilante drama that revolves around an aged freedom fighter who returns to India after many years to fight corruption. It stars Kamal Haasan in the titular role and is his first release as a leading man after the Lokesh Kanagaraj-helmed actioner Vikram (2022).

‘Indian 2’ stars Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Gulshan Grover, and the late Manobala in the lead. The music is composed by Anirudh, who is best known for his work on ‘Vikram’ and ‘Jailer’. Indian 3 a sequel to the biggie is set to open in theatres next year. It features Kamal Haaan in a double role and marks his first collaboration with Kajal Aggarwal.

Chandu Champion Box Office Collection Day 1: Kartik Aaryan’s Film Debuts With Rs. 4.75 Crore

Kartik Aaryan’s much-awaited film “Chandu Champion” premiered this Friday, drawing decent crowds on its first day. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film garnered Rs. 4.75 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day, according to Sacnilk. “Chandu Champion” tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympics gold medallist and Padma Shri awardee, highlighting his relentless spirit. Released on June 14, the film is a collaborative project by Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Pen Studios. The cast includes Vijay Raaz, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Bhagyashree, and Sonali Kulkarni alongside Kartik Aaryan.

A grand screening of “Chandu Champion” was held in Mumbai on Thursday, attended by notable guests such as Vidya Balan, Ananya Panday, and Alaya F, co-stars of Kartik Aaryan from his previous films. Murlikant Petkar and his family were also present. A heartfelt moment from the screening showed Kartik Aaryan sitting with Petkar and his family. After the film, Petkar’s son, Arjun, was moved to tears and warmly embraced both Kabir Khan and Kartik. Kartik shared this moment on social media, writing, “First screening of Chandu Champion with the Man himself. An evening filled with honour, joy and tears with The Real Champion The Man who refused to surrender Mr Murlikant Petkar.”

Kabir Khan, in an interview with IANS, explained his choice of Kartik Aaryan for the lead role. He said, “When I was writing the script of ‘Chandu’… obviously, when you are writing the script, you have an image in your mind. And that image, that character, has an age, personality, attitude… So, when you have these pointers, the next step is to identify which actor can embody all these characteristics. Very strongly, I felt those characteristics in Kartik Aaryan.”

He continued, “We have never worked before, not even met properly. Then we had a meeting for around 2.5 hours, during which we had a lot of conversations about the film. As a director, during our talks, it’s my job to gauge whether he is the right fit for this character. A director’s gut instinct is very strong. After that 2.5-hour meeting with him, I was very clear that Kartik would be the Chandu Champion.”

Saibal Chatterjee, reviewing for NDTV, rated “Chandu Champion” 2.5 out of 5 stars. He noted, “Chandu Champion might have worked better than it does had the cinematic enactment been a touch less melodramatic and a little more realistic… To be fair, however, Chandu Champion is pacy and enjoyable. It wastes no time in hitting its straps. Such was the nature of the life that it brings to the screen that it has no time to pause for breath. With the lead actor getting into the swing of things with all his might, the exercise isn’t weighed down as other such films are by the cliched tropes of the underdog drama.”

‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ Box Office Collection 3 Days: How Much Did Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Collect In Its First Weekend? | Exclusive

Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ opened in theatres on Friday, May 31, much to the delight of fans. It collected a respectable Rs 6.85 crore domestically on the first day to emerge as the best opener of his career. The film benefited from the fact that the tickets were priced at Rs 99 on its opening day. The sports drama then collected a decent Rs 4.65 crore on June 1. Mr and Mrs Mahi remained the top choice of moviegoers in metros on its first Sunday, going by early trends. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, the film is expected to rake in around Rs 5 crore on June 2.

“The word of mouth is good but not extraordinary. The film has found an audience in the Northern markets and of course Mumbai/Maharastra. Its strength is in the metro markets. As far as collections are concerned, it should do around Rs 5 on the third day. These are good figures for a film of this genre,” he told The Daily Guardian.

If this estimate holds,’ Mr and Mahi’ will collect nearly 18 crore during the first weekend.

As expected, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ faced limited competition from ‘SAVI’ as both films cater to different audiences.

In case you did not know, ‘SAVI’ is a thriller, directed by Abhinay Deo of ‘Delhi Belly’ fame. The film revolves around a housewife who plans a daring jailbreak to rescue her husband. The film features Divya Khossla and Anil Kapoor in the lead. Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar have produced the film.

Srikanth, which features Rajkummar in the titular role, also didn’t pose a threat to the Dharma Productions-backed film as it is in its fourth week.

Coming back to ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, it is a sports drama the centres on an ‘average cricketer’ who tries to redeem himself by helping his wife hone her cricket skills. The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady and is her second film with the National Award winner after ‘Roohi’. ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ is directed by Sharan Sharma, best known for his work on ‘Gunjan Saxena’.

‘Crew’ 3 days’ box office collection: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s film set to enter Rs 30 crore club

Crew, which hit screens on March 29, received a favorable response during the first weekend of its release. According to Trade Analyst Joginder Tuteja, the film has turned out to be a big hit at the box office. He feels it will touch the Rs 33 crore mark* by the end of its first Sunday (March 31)

“It has been two days since Crew released. Including today it will go on to hit 33 crores,” he told The Daily Guardian.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh posted the breakdown of the first two days on X.

‘Article 370’ Box Office Collection Day 2: Yami Gautam Film Witnesses Good Growth On First Saturday

‘Article 370’, which hit screens on February 23, collected an impressive Rs. 6.12 crore on the first day, benefitting from the reduced ticket rates. It continued to enthrall the audience on February 24 even after the prices returned to normal. According to Akshaye Rathi, an exhibitor, Article 370 raked in Rs 7.5 crore on its second day. Its total collection stands at nearly Rs. 13 crore.

Rathi added that the film’s success can pave the way for more female-centric films, which make a landmark release for the industry.

“Article 370 is a great effort by Aditya Jambhale and Yami Gautam to bring such a powerful subject into the light. It has resonated with the audience and hopefully will bring more female-centric films in the future,” he told ‘The Daily Guardian.’

‘Article 370’ continues to stay ahead of ‘Crakk’. The Vidyut Jammwal film was released on February 23 and collected Rs. 4 crore on the first day. It then collected 2.15 crore on Day 2. The sports drama’s total collection stands at Rs 6.15 crore. The film also features Arjun Rampal, Amy Jackson, and Nora Fatehi in key roles.

Coming back to Article 370, it centers on various incidents in Kashmir from 2016 to 2019, which resulted in the abrogation of Article 370. The film follows Zoni Haksar (played by Yami Gautam), an intelligence officer, and Home Secretary Rajeswari (played by Priya Mani), as they deal with these events. This is Yami’s first release of the year. She was last seen in OMG 2, which did well at the box office. She also garnered attention with her work in Lost and Dasvi.

Article 370 is currently playing theatres across the country.

Article 370, which hit screens on February 23, has opened to a good response at the box office. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it collected Rs 6.12 crore (nett) on the first day.

Elaborating on the reasons for the positive response, trade analyst Joginder Tuteja said that the reduced ticket prices worked in the film’s favour.

“The film is off to a very good start with 6.12 crore box office revenue collected on the day of its release, which is a very good number. This also had something to do with the excitement and buzz created by the Rs. 99 ticket price on Cinema Lovers Day,” he told the ‘The Daily Guardian’

Akshaye Rathi, an exhibitor, said Article 370 ‘resonated with the audience’ as the subject has been ‘carefully highlighted’

‘Not only the team behind the film has experienced this victory but also the subject matter has carefully been highlighted, that was the ultimate goal. The film has resonated with the audience, the courtesy and the word-of mouth-that has been going around is hyping up the buzz created on Day 1,” he told ‘The Daily Guardian’. He further said, “I am pretty sure that the revenue is only going to jump over the weekend and sustain in the coming days. Fingers crossed.”

Article 370 has opened better than ‘The Kashmir Files’ which was a huge hit. It has also beaten ‘Crackk’, also hit screens on February 23 as Vidyut Jammwal’s film collected around Rs 4 crore on day 1.

The narrative of ‘Article 370’ centres on various incidents in Kashmir from 2016 to 2019, which resulted in the abrogation of Article 370. The film follows the journey of Zoni Haksar (played by Yami Gautam), an intelligence officer, and Home Secretary Rajeswari (played by Priya Mani), as they navigate through these events.

Adipurush Sells 1.50 Lakh Tickets In Advance For Weekend

Om Raut’s directorial Adipurush is gearing up for a release on the 16th of June. The advance bookings indicate an encouraging start at the box office. Adipurush has sold approximately 1.13 lakh tickets for the opening weekend, with 62,000 sold for the opening day. PVR and Inox are leading from the front for Om Raut’s Adipurush with 90,000 tickets for the weekend, whereas Cinepolis has approximately 23,000 tickets sold.

Sreenivas Bellamkonda’s Chatrapathi Box Office Collection Day 1

Chatrapathi is the Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli’s Telugu blockbuster Starring Prabhas and has now hit the theatres. Produced by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, the film features Sreenivas Bellamkonda and Nushrratt Bharuccha. It also marks the big Bollywood debut of Sreenivas Bellamkonda.

Chatrapathi is expected to earn around Rs 70 lakhs at the box office on day 1. It is a remake, and the viewers are not showing interest in watching the same story again and again.

The film can ultimately turn out to be a huge disaster at the box office, and it is estimated to be made on a budget of around Rs 40 crores. Adding more details, Chatrapathi is a mid-budget Hindi film that will do good at the box office if it gets positive reviews from critics.

In a conversation with a news agency, Sreenivas opened up about his thoughts on working in a Hindi movie, and said, “The love I had got from the Hindi audience, as my Telugu movies which got dubbed in Hindi got amazing views and I wanted to thank them in the right way by giving them a great film, so our whole team tried and worked hard. And I thought Hindi cinema is something any actor will dream about because if you wish to reach every corner then Hindi cinema is the only way.”

“I definitely want one more. So I got the best debut film fare in 2015 for my Telugu film and again in 2023 I am very sure that I will get the best debut film fare again for the film ‘Chatarpathi’,” he said.

As the film serves a lot of action, Bellamkunda expressed how action has to be mixed with emotions to deliver a wonderful experience to the audience. He said, “Whenever content merges, action needs emotions. As just for the sake of action it isn’t fun to do a project. As if an emotion is there then there is action, then it gets elevated. So I always believe in that as we have a high-emotion film and it is going to be great.”

“I think the content of the film is something which deserves to be delivered in the biggest way possible. It’s a great film, it’s great content and I am sure when you see this film you will definitely enjoy it and the audience will think that it is ‘paise wasool’ (worth the money),” Shreenivas added when questioned about his reaction on the script of the movie.
