</excerpt>

In a significant move to promote reading, the Gujarat government has announced plans to establish libraries in 50 talukas across 21 districts. This initiative, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, builds on the “Vanche Gujarat” campaign launched by then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enrich libraries throughout the state.

Marking a historic decision, libraries will also be established in 14 talukas within 7 tribal districts, aiming to boost interest in reading among the tribal communities. This initiative will provide 100 percent access to reading services in these areas.

The announcement aligns with the celebration of ‘National Read a Book Day’ on September 6, a day dedicated to fostering a love for reading. The Gujarat government also plans to expand library services in rural areas by starting more subsidized public libraries, making it easier for citizens to access reading materials.

In a first, the state government has waived the 25 percent public contribution required for grant-aided libraries, offering 100 percent state funding starting from 2023-24. Additionally, the government has increased grant rates for different types of libraries, including special, city, women and children, and village libraries.

As part of its broader effort to enhance library services, the state has also raised the award amounts for the Shree Motibhai Amin Granthalaya Seva Award and Uttam Granthalaya Seva Certificate, encouraging competition and excellence in library management.

This comprehensive policy is designed to foster a reading culture across the state, providing access to knowledge through books, periodicals, and teaching materials.

</excerpt>

Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, delivered a keynote address at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, expressing his pride in being part of the summit’s decade-long journey. In his address to a distinguished audience, including Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, ministers, industry leaders, and attendees from partner countries, Adani praised Prime Minister Modi’s extraordinary vision.

He described Vibrant Gujarat as a stunning manifestation of grand ambition, massive scale, meticulous governance, and flawless execution. Adani credited the summit for igniting a nationwide movement, transforming India’s industrial landscape through competition and cooperation among states.

Adani highlighted the remarkable statistics of the past decade, stating, “Since 2014, India’s GDP has grown by 185 per cent, and per capita income by a stunning 165 per cent. This achievement is unparalleled, especially considering this decade’s geopolitical conflicts and pandemic challenges.”

Commending PM Modi’s international leadership, Adani specifically mentioned the Solar Alliance initiative and Modi’s influential role at the G20 platform. He stated, “PM has taken us from a country seeking a voice on global platforms to a nation that now creates the global platforms.”

Directly addressing the Prime Minister, Adani praised Modi’s ability not only to predict the future but to shape it. He emphasized India’s reorientation as the world’s fastest-growing nation and a global social champion, driven by philosophies of Vasudeva Kutumbakam and Vishwa Guru.

Adani shared his satisfaction with surpassing the investment target announced at the previous summit, committing to further investments and unveiling ambitious plans for the Adani Group. This includes the construction of the world’s largest green energy park in Khavda, Kutch, covering 725 square kilometers and generating 30 GW of renewable energy.

The expansion plan involves creating the largest integrated renewable energy ecosystem, including solar panels, wind turbines, hydrogen electrolysers, green ammonia, PVC, and expansions in copper and cement production. Adani announced, “Over the next five years, the Adani Group will invest over Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat – that is USD 25 billion – thereby creating over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.”

Expressing gratitude for the support received, Adani concluded by committing to contribute to a Vikshit Gujarat, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s transformative goals for the state and the nation.

Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani states, “I have journeyed from the city of the Gateway of India to the gateway of modern India’s growth – Gujarat. As a proud Gujarati…When foreigners envision a new India, their thoughts turn to a new Gujarat. How was this transformation achieved? It was due to one leader, who has risen as the most influential global leader of our times – PM Modi, the most successful Prime Minister in India’s history.”

</excerpt>

The “Gujarat Semiconductor Policy” will help realise the state’s commitment for a self-reliant India and Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has said.
The policy is setting the stage for a future in the world of technology and manufacturing, and helping Gujarat transform itself into a semiconductor powerhouse, he said.
According to the state government, chip maker Micron Technology’s decision to set up a USD 2.75-billion plant at Sanand near Ahmedabad indicates that Gujarat’s dedicated semiconductor policy is bearing fruit and attracting global players.

Under the policy, the state government will set up ‘Dholera Semicon City’ near Ahmedabad where eligible projects will be given subsidies for setting up manufacturing units, it said ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) to be held in Gandhinagar next month.
The summit is a forum for business networking, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
In June this year, the Gujarat government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Micron Technology for setting up a semiconductor assembly and test facility at Sanand.

“With the prime minister’s guidance, Gujarat has emerged as a policy-driven state.
Taking this tradition further, we have implemented the country’s first dedicated semiconductor policy. Our commitment for ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Gujarat’ will be realised by this policy,” CM Patel has said.
In July last year, Gujarat announced a dedicated policy to draw new investments in the semiconductor sector by offering incentives and subsidies to start operations in the state, and will remain in force till 2027.

The Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is set to host the ambitious ‘Semicon City’, spanning 5,000-10,000 acres and generating a massive two lakh jobs over the next five years by attracting semiconductor fabrication units, display fabrication units, silicon photonics, and semiconductor assembly, testing, marking, and packaging facilities, as per the state government.

It was the Prime Minister’s largest and longest roadshow in the nation, drawing over 10 lakh attendees. It covered about 50 kilometres and passed through as many as 14 Vidhan Sabha seats, including 13 from Ahmedabad and one from Gandhinagar. PM Modi’s massive roadshow began in Naroda Gam and ended in the Gandhinagar South constituency. PM Modi visited at least 35 memorials along the road, including those for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.

From 2001 to 2014, Gujarat’s longest-serving chief minister was Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP won 99 out of a total of 182 seats in the 2017 elections in Gujarat. With Narendra Modi serving as the state’s chief minister for the longest period of time, the party has been in power for the past 27 years.

This time, the party led by PM Modi, Amit Shah, and CR Paatil hopes to win more than 140 seats, which would be a record.

The state has long been a BJP stronghold, and the party has set its sights on winning a seventh term in office.

After a two-day hiatus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to the Gujarat campaign trail for the second round of the state assembly elections with a three-hour mega roadshow covering 16 assembly districts.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claims that this massive event will span a distance of more than 50 kilometres, beginning at the Naroda Gam and terminating at the Gandhinagar South constituency. PM Modi is slated to make at least 35 stops at the memorials of notable individuals, including Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, during his roadshow, which is anticipated to start at 3:30 pm and last until 6:30 pm on Thursday.

The Prime Minister’s campaign tour is anticipated to pass through 16 assembly districts that vote in the second round of the Gujarat election on December 5.

Some of the constituencies the prime minister will visit during his roadshow are Thakkarbapanagar, Bapunagar, Nikol, Amraiwadi, Maninagar, Danilimbda, Jamalpur Khadia, Elisbridge, Vejalpur, Ghatlodia, Naranpur, and Sabarmati.

Bhupendra Patel, the BJP candidate for chief minister, is running from the Ghatlodia seat.

It’s interesting to note that voting for the first phase of the Gujarat election is taking place while the prime minister canvasses for the second phase.

Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, declared on Saturday that a committee would be formed to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state before elections. Gujarat has now made the announcement, joining Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as states governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi & Union HM Amit Shah, CM Bhupendra Patel has taken a historic decision in the cabinet meeting today – of forming a committee for implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state”, Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghavi said.

The UCC is a plan to create and enforce personal laws for citizens that will be applicable to every Indian regardless of caste, religion, or sexual orientation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s top election concern has been the Uniform Civil Code. In its 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign, the saffron party pledged that if elected to power, it would implement the UCC. The UCC has been dubbed “anti-minority” by its critics.
