</excerpt>

Just days after Bhopal’s flyover with a 90-degree turn stunned social media, the city is once again in the spotlight—this time for a quirky digital clock tower. Located at Polytechnic Square, the clock shows a different time on each of its four sides, with one side even remaining nonfunctional.

The Indian National Congress shared a video of the clock tower on social media, pointing out the glaring flaw. One side displayed 8:58 PM, while another showed 9:05 PM, with visibly inconsistent readings around the structure. The post quickly gained traction, sparking widespread amusement and mockery.

Even Congress Kerala joined in the trolling on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “The world famous ₹40 Lakh clock tower of Bihar Sharif can take rest. Bhopal clock tower is here to help!”

A social media user quipped, “After a 90-degree turn flyover, Bhopal presents a time-traveling clock tower. Bhopal isn’t for beginners.” The clip has since gone viral, igniting a mix of laughter and disbelief among residents and netizens alike.

The back-to-back civic embarrassments have left Bhopal trending online for all the wrong reasons—first for an absurd road design, now for a dysfunctional timepiece that seems to exist in multiple time zones at once.

Bhopal’s 90-Degree Railway Overbridge Raise Concerns

<excerpt>A 90-degree railway overbridge in Bhopal sparked online buzz for its odd design, reminding many of the game Temple Run. Officials cited land shortage for the sharp turn, assuring it’s safe for small vehicles. Social media responded with memes and concern.
</excerpt>

A picture of a recently built railway overbridge (RoB) in Bhopal has become viral on social media due to its bizarre and possibly dangerous 90-degree turn. Situated near Aishbagh Stadium, the sharp turn of the bridge has drawn comparisons to the twists and turns in the popular mobile game Temple Run.

Although its terrifying design, officials have explained that the sudden turn was not an engineering mistake, but a design necessity. The bridge was constructed in this manner because of the lack of space and due to the proximity of the neighboring metro station, as reported by PTI.

Temple Run: Bhopal Version pic.twitter.com/W8gIDQgKkx

“Because of the metro station, land is scarce at the location. Because there is a scarcity of land, there was no alternative. The idea behind the RoB is to link the two colonies,” said an official who is in charge of the construction. He further added that only light vehicles will be permitted to pass through the bridge, and heavy vehicles will not be given permission.

Public Works Department (Bridge Department) Chief Engineer V D Verma informed PTI, “It will be run in full safety and the speed of vehicles according to the guidelines of the Indian Road Congress.”

Though the Rs 18-crore overbridge is yet to open to the public, its 90-degree angle has already begun worrying social media users, who are wondering how secure it would be for drivers, particularly in low-visibility or high-speed conditions.

Comparison to Clock Tower, Bihar

The bridge’s image had been compared to that of another bizarre structure, Bihar Sharif’s clock tower. Suddently opened up in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra, the clock broke down just a day after its opening. Thieves entered the building and stole copper wires, and now the tower remains stuck at 4:20 an hour now etched in popularly circulated photographs.

Close-up photos of the Bihar clock tower revealed amateurish construction and neglect of detail. Painted white, the concrete structure looked raw and far from what it was originally designed to look like, according to pre-launch marketing photos.

This shabbily painted, poorly finished, concrete clock tower in Bihar Sharif, built under ‘Smart City’ project, had its clock stop working within 24 hours of inauguration.

Guess the production cost? Only ₹40 lakh! Just 40 lakhs for this architectural marvel! Hats off! pic.twitter.com/GZqnGX8z7Q

</excerpt>

A disturbing video from Bhopal has gone viral, showing a visibly intoxicated girl performing dangerous stunts on a moving bike. The footage has ignited concerns over reckless behavior and safety on the roads.

Hazardous Stunts on the Move

In the video, the young woman is seen standing on a high-speed bike, giving flying kisses to passersby. Two boys accompany her—one driving the bike, while the other supports her from behind to prevent her from falling. The risky act, captured on video by a bystander, highlights a blatant disregard for personal and public safety.

Public Outcry and Safety Concerns

Social media users have expressed alarm at the reckless stunt, noting that such actions endanger not only the girl but also other road users. The viral clip has sparked heated discussions about the prevalence of substance abuse and irresponsible behavior among the youth in the region.

Police and rescue teams acted swiftly, safely bringing him down. Shocking video surfaces online.
</excerpt>

A startling event occurred in Bhopal’s Barkhedi area on Friday when a 33-year-old drunk man, identified as Vivek Thakur from Aishbagh, climbed to the top of a mobile tower. His reckless behavior, including shaking the structure, triggered panic among bystanders, fearing the tower might collapse.

Swift Police Response Ensures Safe Rescue

The incident began around 2 pm when Thakur, visibly under the influence, started scaling the tower. In just 20 minutes, the drunk man reached a dangerous height, drawing a large crowd of alarmed onlookers. Witnesses quickly alerted the police and Municipal Corporation, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams, including the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

ASI Rajendra Yadav from Jahangirabad Police Station confirmed the rapid deployment of emergency personnel. After engaging Thakur in conversation, rescuers managed to safely bring him down by 2:40 pm. Fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.

Following his rescue, Thakur was taken into police custody for questioning. Authorities are currently investigating the motives behind his dangerous stunt. His intoxicated state has raised concerns about his mental well-being, and further inquiries will determine any additional actions.

Similar Incident in Noida Raises Concerns

This bizarre episode mirrors a similar event in Noida’s Sector 113, where an intoxicated man climbed a high-voltage electric tower and performed risky stunts. Local authorities, including police and fire services, successfully negotiated his safe descent after two hours. Both incidents highlight the risks associated with substance abuse and the critical role of emergency responders in preventing potential tragedies.

In a disturbing incident that has stirred public outrage, a traffic police officer in Bhopal was captured on camera assaulting a man for allegedly standing too close to the Governor’s convoy. The footage, which has since gone viral across social media platforms, shows the officer approaching the man, shoving him to the ground, and violently kicking and slapping him in full public view.

The altercation occurred at the Anand Nagar intersection, where Governor Mangubhai Patel’s convoy was passing through. The man, who was near the convoy, became the target of the officer’s aggression despite no apparent provocation.

The shocking video has rapidly spread online, causing an outpouring of anger from the public. In the clip, the officer’s swift and harsh actions toward the man have raised concerns about excessive use of force and accountability.

According to Raghuvanshi, the convoy was under Z+ security, which comes with heightened protection due to the risk of accidents or potential threats. He stated, “No one is allowed near the Governor’s convoy, and the area must remain clear due to the high-speed movement of the motorcade. The individual had been warned by the police but chose to approach the convoy despite the warnings.”

Investigation Launched

In the wake of the incident, the police have launched a thorough investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the assault. Statements are being recorded to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the events.

“The facts will eventually come to light,” stated Raghuvanshi. “Although investigations take time, the truth will emerge once all aspects are thoroughly examined.”

While the incident continues to spark conversations on social media and within the local community, the police have emphasised the importance of ensuring safety around high-security convoys. Authorities are committed to a transparent investigation to ensure accountability for the actions of the traffic police officer involved.

Ongoing Investigation

The police have registered a case and are actively seeking information from nearby hospitals. They are compiling a list of women who have recently given birth in an effort to locate the girl’s parents. DCP Priyanka Shukla noted that the area surrounding the discovery is filled with shanties and slums, where some families may perceive a girl child as a liability.

</excerpt>

In most temples, you have to remove your slippers and shoes before entering. But in Bhopal, there’s a unique temple where devotees actually offer slippers and shoes to the Goddess. This may sound strange, but it’s true.

The Devi Maa Temple, also known as Jijabai Mata Mandir or Pahadi Wali Mata Mandir, is located on a hill on Kolar Road in Banjari. The idol of Goddess Siddhidatri is installed here, and she is worshipped as a daughter. Devotees bring new slippers and sandals as gifts for her. Even those living abroad send new footwear for the Goddess.

To reach the temple, you need to climb about 125 steps. The temple was established more than 25 years ago, and the tradition of offering footwear has continued since then. According to the temple priest, Om Prakash, he performed the marriage ritual of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati before the temple was built. He claims to have done the Kanyadaan ritual for Goddess Parvati, treating her as his daughter. The idol of Goddess Siddhidatri is installed as a child avatar, and devotees offer her everything they would give to a child, including glasses, watches, and umbrellas.

When the temple priest feels the Goddess is unhappy, he changes her clothes two or three times a day. In the past 25 years, more than 1.5 million clothes, slippers, and other items have been offered to Mata Rani. During Navratri, the temple sees a huge crowd of devotees.

This unique temple in Bhopal shows a different way of worship and devotion, where the Goddess is loved and treated like a daughter.

</excerpt>

Geeta, who previously returned to India from Pakistan, has once again made headlines. On Tuesday, she arrived in Bhopal to take her class 8 exams at Raja Bhoj School, where she completed her first paper in Sanskrit. Now 33 years old and deaf-mute, Geeta has learned sign language. Her translator, Gajendra Prohit, told ANI that she aspires to become self-reliant and secure a government job.

Through her translator, Geeta said, “I want to become self-reliant and aspire to do a government job and become a senior-level officer. I have learned sign language also. I want to move ahead in life and become an inspiration for many.”

Describing her life as a struggle, Geeta mentioned that she is very poor and lives in a hut. She expressed her desire to progress in life through education and hopes to own her own house one day.

She added, “My mother is very poor and she lives in a hut. Therefore, my goal is to have a house, for which I started to study and I am continuously studying.”

Expressing her happiness after giving her first paper, Geeta said, “Today was my first paper and I was very excited. I studied hard and I believe that I will pass my exams… I am very excited to give my paper.”

Discussing her future plans, Geeta stated that she aims to complete her 10th and 12th grades, as well as her college education, to establish a place for herself in society. “I have given my class 8 exams. I will study for class 10 and 12th. And I will do a part-time job along with my studies. I also want to pursue college education.”

Expressing her faith in the government, she said, “I know I am older, but still, I will try my best to reach the highest level. It’s my dream to reach one of the highest positions in the government and I have full faith that the government will support me.”

Asserting that she wants to inspire and motivate people to move ahead in life, Geeta said, “If I can do so much despite being deaf and mute, then other people can also do that. I think that life should be meaningful and I feel that no matter if I am deaf and mute, I am not behind and the way a common person can move ahead, a deaf and mute person can also move forward. At least I can move forward in the field of studies and do something.”

She also remembered Sushma Swaraj and said, “I want to say that Sushma Swaraj was like a mother to me. I miss her a lot. Modi ji is a very good PM. I appeal to him to help me as I struggle with poverty in my life.”

Interestingly, due to the efforts of the late former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Geeta, who is deaf and mute, returned to India from Pakistan on October 26, 2015. After her return, Geeta lived in Indore for about five years, during which time efforts were made to find her parents.

This year, the Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board is offering 33 other deaf and mute women, along with Geeta, the opportunity to take their exams. All necessary accommodations for disabled students, including Geeta, were provided during the examination. The Open School’s 8th-grade exams began on May 21 and will continue until May 28.

He was also captured on camera by the complaint. When questions were asked about the accused, Faizal Khan’s name came up. </excerpt>

Miniraj Modi, owner of Gyan Ganga International Academy in Misord, Bhopal was arrested two weeks after he was charged with raping an eight-year-old girl at the dormitory campus, the Madhya Pradesh police announced on Tuesday that they had detained the proprietor of a private school in Bhopal, as the rape survivor identified.

Police said they have also detained and suspended an assistant sub-inspector, Prakash Rajput, who allegedly mounted pressure on the minor girl’s mother to withdraw the rape complaint.

Shradha Tiwari, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Bhopal City (Zone 2), stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) detained Modi on Monday after the young girl recognized him.

According to Tiwari, Modi is being questioned by police while in their custody and will appear in court following a medical examination.

The victim’s mother asserted that the police were attempting to rescue the suspect in the meantime. She said that Rajput placed pressure on her to not file a case despite the police having twice performed her medical test and having recorded her statement before a magistrate.

FIR was registered against Modi on April 30 based on the complaint filed by the girl’s mother.

“My daughter was raped in the last week of April. I came to know on April 29 after she shared her ordeal with me in front of doctors of a government hospital. The doctors also confirmed the rape and injury in the private parts but Rajput came to the hospital and mounted pressure on me for not registering the case”, the woman said.

The police conducted another medical test and a medical board was formed to give their opinion, even as the doctors at the hospital had confirmed the rape, said the mother.

Later, the police also held counselling sessions and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) held the counselling for two days. “My daughter is just eight years old and already traumatised but the whole process that was adopted by police mentally harassed her”, she added.

DCP Tiwari said that things were not clear in the FIR. “In the first medical test, the doctors recommended consulting a gynaecologist…later, a medical board was formed. In between, the CWC was approached for counselling. After the statements were registered before the CWC during counselling, suspects were shown to the girl and she identified the accused”.

Modi said he was innocent and added that a conspiracy was hatched against him.

In the FIR, three people, including the hostel warden, have been booked under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.

The boy, purportedly the son of Vinay Mehar, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) panchayat leader, accompanied his father to the polling booth on Tuesday. In the 14-second clip, shared on Mehar’s Facebook page, the boy is seen pressing a button on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), symbolizing the BJP’s lotus.

The video prompted questions regarding the presence of a mobile phone in the booth and the allowance of the child’s presence. Piyush Babele, identified as a media advisor to former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, raised concerns online, questioning potential actions against such behaviour. The Election Commission has yet to respond, while district officials have acknowledged the video.

District Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh initiated an investigation, resulting in the suspension of Presiding Officer Sandeep Saini and the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Mehar. The Berasia Assembly segment, where the incident occurred, is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates and forms part of the Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.

Vishnu Khatre of the BJP holds the Berasia segment, while Pragya Thakur, also of the BJP, represents the Lok Sabha seat. Thakur, however, will not contest her seat in this election, as Alok Sharma has been nominated by the BJP, facing Arun Shrivastava of the Congress.

</excerpt>

Concerned by the low voter turnout in the initial phases of the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, officials in Bhopal have announced a unique initiative to encourage voting. On the voting day in the third phase on May 7, Bhopal voters will have the chance to win prizes through a series of lucky draws held every two hours.

The initiative aims to address the significant drop in voter participation, which has been over 8.5% lower on average in the first two rounds compared to previous elections. Bhopal has historically struggled with voter enthusiasm, with only a modest increase in turnout even during national voting surges.

In a bid to entice voters, election officials plan to conduct three lucky draws at each of the 2,097 polling booths in the constituency—at 10 am, 3 pm, and 6 pm. Winners will be selected from those who have cast their votes and received the mandatory ink mark. Prizes range from diamond rings, refrigerators, televisions, to other valuable items.

Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, the district election officer and collector, explained that the initiative aims to create awareness and motivate citizens to exercise their voting rights, especially on a day when temperatures are expected to soar above 40 degrees Celsius.

Moreover, a mega draw is scheduled for after the election, likely on May 9, where larger prizes will be distributed. The organizers are optimistic about the response, having already collected 35 items including diamond rings, a laptop, a refrigerator, dinner sets, and mobile phones. They are also hopeful of including two-wheelers among the prizes.

Additionally, to ensure smooth voting procedures, efforts are being made to provide printed voter slips to every registered voter, minimizing any confusion regarding polling booth locations.

In another gesture, the first voter at each booth will also be felicitated. These initiatives collectively aim to engage voters and increase participation in the democratic process, highlighting the significance of every vote in shaping the nation’s future.

</excerpt>

A disturbing video capturing a man and his wife brutally attacking his own grandmother with a stick in Bhopal circulated widely on Wednesday, resulting in the couple’s arrest as they attempted to flee the city.

Police officials stated that the woman, who appears to be in her seventies, faced such inhumane treatment because she did not cook food to the couple’s liking.

The man and his wife reside in Bhopal’s Jahangirabad area, and according to neighbors, it was a frequent occurrence to hear them physically abusing the woman, who was a widow.

The latest assault was clandestinely recorded by a neighbor from the window of the couple’s residence, and it circulated widely on Wednesday morning.

In the video, the woman is seen seated on the floor of the house, facing her grandson sitting in front of her, and her granddaughter-in-law positioned at the edge of a bed. Following the confrontation, the younger woman twists the older woman’s arm, causing her to scream. Subsequently, her grandson restrains her by holding her down in his lap and covering her mouth.

His wife proceeds to repeatedly strike her with a stick. Eventually, the man releases his grandmother, only to elbow her in the back as his wife continues to assault her with the stick, before restraining her once more.

After the video garnered widespread circulation, the Jahangirabad police initiated a search for the couple and apprehended them as they were trying to flee the city.

</excerpt>

The state health department is gearing up to launch a free vaccination drive against Japanese Encephalitis for children aged 1 to 15 years in the state capital, Bhopal, starting on February 27. The vaccination will be carried out at government hospitals and health centers in the city. The department aims to vaccinate approximately nine lakh children in the state capital and has made all necessary arrangements for the campaign.

Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Bhopal, Prabhakar Tiwari, stated, “As we have received instructions from the state government, we are planning to begin this vaccination drive from February 27. Japanese encephalitis, also known as brain fever, is spreading in some parts of the country. It is a fatal disease, particularly affecting children under 16 years of age, with high mortality rates.”

“Some cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been reported in Bhopal in recent years, but all those cases have recovered, and no fatalities were reported. In most cases, the individuals came from areas where the disease is endemic. The first phase of the vaccination will target children aged 1 to 15 years, and it will be a single-dose vaccine,” he added.

“Once this campaign is completed, the vaccine is proposed to be included in the routine vaccination schedule. It will then require two doses, with the first dose administered at nine months of age and the second at 16 months. It is crucial to vaccinate all children because there is no herd immunity for Japanese encephalitis,” Tiwari explained.

The CMHO also urged all citizens to ensure their children aged 1 to 15 years receive the vaccine, emphasizing that the case fatality rate for this disease is 30 percent, with long-term risks for survivors. “This vaccine is provided free of cost by the government, so please ensure your children are protected. The vaccine is available at routine vaccination centers, and in some major hospitals, it will be administered daily. Additionally, once school examinations are over and children resume regular schooling, we will organize vaccination camps in schools as needed,” he said.

It is estimated that approximately nine lakh children will be vaccinated during this campaign, the CMHO added.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also performed the bhoomi pujan of the CM Rise Government Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School building which is to be constructed at Rs 81.12 crore at BHEL (Barkheda) Bhopal.

While addressing the program, CM Chouhan said, “The children of poor, lower middle class and middle-class families must have access to quality education and the best schools in the country. They have talent and immense capabilities and therefore must get opportunities for good education in their vicinity. With this objective, the state government conceptualised the CM Rise School.”

The state government of Madhya Pradesh also ensured that all efforts will be made for the implementation of the new education policy introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will always help the students to continue with their studies.

“Good education is the cornerstone of life. There was a time when there were no buildings for schools. Our government has ensured better schooling facilities. As a result of this, buildings of primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools have been constructed. The CM Rise School was planned in consultation with subject experts and educationists,” the CM further said.

Chouhan said, “The state government has made arrangements to provide mid-day meals to students, bicycles for boys and girls, laptops on securing 75 percent marks in class 12. Today, the amount has been transferred to the bank accounts of 4.60 lakh students for cycles at the rate of Rs 4500 a student. With this amount, students can buy a cycle of their choice. This initiative will enable children to go to school easier and give them more time to study. In this sequence, the students securing first position in class 12 exam in their respective schools will be given e-scooty on August 23.”

“Coriander, chillies, and tomatoes had gotten rotten due to water,” Mehboob, who opened a vegetable shop in Bhopal’s Vitthal market, explained, “and tomatoes that were previously sold at 140 kg were priced at Rs 160 kg on Saturday.”

Tomatoes have been harmed at this location. They are now on their way from Bengaluru. Chilli and coriander are also available in bulk for Rs 125 per kg. Tomatoes are wholesale priced at 2200 to 2300 rupees per carat.” Heavy rains have caused a vegetable supply shortage in the city, resulting in an increase in vegetable costs.

“Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 140 and Rs 160 per kg in retail. If there is further rainfall, the prices of tomatoes will increase in the same way,” added Mehboob.

Most vegetable prices have increased in both the retail and wholesale markets. Prices are projected to climb further as a result of the damage done to vegetable crops by severe rains.

Heavy rain has inundated farms throughout the state, causing damage to ready-to-harvest vegetable harvests. Vegetable prices are rising by the day due to rising demand and limited availability. Smita, a Bhopal resident, on the other hand, stated that her kitchen budget had completely fallen apart and that she had to think twice before purchasing tomatoes.

</excerpt>

In the state capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, five persons have been detained for encouraging child marriage and human trafficking, according to the police. The arrests were made after women and child welfare department officials prevented the marriage of a 12-year-old tribal girl with a 27-year-old man on June 27 in a village under Gunaga police station limits near Bhopal, police said on wednesday. According to police, the girl’s parents had sold the girl for Rs 40,000 and received an advance of Rs 20,000, with the remaining amount to be handed over to them after the wedding. “We received information from the Women and Child Development Department about a child marriage in the Gunaga police station area on Monday (June 26), after which we arrived at the location and saw that the “haldi” ceremony was taking place,” said Superintendent of Police (SP, Bhopal Rural), Kiranlata Kerketta. After further investigation, it was discovered that the girl was 12 years old and her future husband was 27.
According to SP Kerketta, the youngster told police that her parents had fixed her marriage for Rs 40,000 and had ignored her concerns. The police officer indicated that more investigation into the situation is ongoing and that if any brokers were discovered to have been involved, prosecutions would be filed against them.

</excerpt>

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday came down heavily on opposition party leaders, asserting that he will not “spare anyone involved in corruption” while pledging “to take every scamster to task”.

“I will take every scamster to task,” PM Modi said, without taking any names. His scathing remarks came days after an opposition party meeting in Patna earlier this month pledged to take on the BJP in the next year’s elections.
While addressing party booth workers in Madhya Pradesh where elections are due later this year, PM Modi said,” All the corrupt politicians joined their hands in Patna’s meeting. Opposition is trying to escape the anti-scam crackdown. The corrupt leaders are trying to save each other”.

Lashing out at the mega meeting held in Patna on June 23, which saw participation by leaders from over 15 Opposition parties, the PM said all corrupt leaders had joined their hands in Patna.
“The party booth workers will expose their corruption at a village level. They will let people know about their (opposition) real faces. People of this country have an awareness of what was the real agenda behind opposition leaders in getting together at a platform,” the PM said. Pressing his attack, the Prime Minister said that the term “guarantee” was in vogue these days.

“But what is the guarantee all about? The guarantee is for corruption. The guarantee is about scams worth lakhs of crores. The identity of such opposition leaders is to guarantee a scam worth Rs 20 lakh crore,” the PM said.

“I guarantee you, I will not spare any of them,” PM Modi said in his address to BJP booth-level workers in Bhopal.
“If they (the opposition) have the guarantee of scams and corruption then I also have one guarantee for all of you and it is I will not spare any of those who are involved in the corruption…,” PM Modi pledged.

The Opposition meeting in Patna was called by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who severed ties with the BJP to form an alliance with his political rival Lalu Prasad Yadav paving the way for a ‘Mahagathbandhan 2.0’ ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, who have been accusing PM Modi of “misusing” probe agencies for “political ends”, the PM said, “Today when action is being taken against them (Opposition), they are banding together and forming a unity,” PM Modi said.

Bhopal gas tragedy women survivors initiated an indefinite hunger strike at Neelam Park in the state capital of Bhopal on Friday. A group of 10 women demanded correct figures from the state government and the center to provide correct figures of victims before the Supreme Court.

A social worker said, “We will neither drink water nor eat food. We have only one demand: that the Union government and the Madhya Pradesh government put out correct figures of Bhopal gas tragedy victims — those who died and those still undergoing treatment — before the Supreme Court.” “These women are not seeking compensation from the government. All they want is that the central and state governments come out with correct data on the number of deaths and survivors still suffering from the after-effects before the apex court,” she added.

“The case will be heard in front of the Supreme Court again on January 10, 2023, following a period. For the federal government, making the correct decision now would be a historic chance. Union Carbide and Dow Chemical should be fined, and the BJP-led federal and state governments should ensure that accurate data is disseminated “Dingra continued.
