</excerpt>

Sitting MP from Hisar, Haryana, Brijendra Singh has left BJP. On Sunday, he gave information about his resignation on social media. He said that I am leaving BJP due to political reasons. Soon after this, he joined the Congress Party at the residence of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. Brijendra Singh left the IAS job and joined politics.

According to sources, Birendra Singh will meet Rahul Gandhi soon. After which a decision will be taken regarding his joining. When asked about Birendra Singh’s joining, it was told that he will join Congress in a public meeting.

After joining Congress, Brijendra Singh said, “Today I am resigning from BJP and joining Congress.” I express my gratitude to the entire leadership of the party. Along with this, I would definitely like to say that there were some political reasons due to which I had to take this decision. There were some issues like farmers, Agniveer, women wrestlers, about which I was uncomfortable in BJP. However, I have been fighting for it, and will continue to fight for it.”

Brijendra Singh is the great-grandson of farmer leader Sir Chhotu Ram. His father, former Union Minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh’s mother, was the daughter of Bhagwan Devi Sir Chhotu Ram. Father and son were continuously advocating BJP to break its alliance with JJP in Haryana.

BJP MP from Hisar Chaudhary Brijendra Singh informed about his resignation on social media (X). He wrote on X that ‘I have resigned from the primary membership of BJP due to political reasons. I express my gratitude to the party, National President JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for giving me the opportunity to serve as Member of Parliament from Hisar.

Till Sunday afternoon, no list of BJP candidates for Haryana has come yet, but the buzz is that the names of 6 candidates have been finalized in the first list. In which the matter of Brijendra Singh’s ticket being canceled or not getting the seat as per his wish is coming to the fore. Seeing these circumstances, Brijendra decided to leave BJP. It is also being told that big Congress leaders of the state have assured him of ticket.
Sources in the Congress party said that an important meeting of the Congress CEC has been called tomorrow evening i.e. Monday, March 11 at 6 pm. In this meeting, Rahul Gandhi will take a break from his Nyay Yatra and attend the meeting. In this meeting, the decision regarding Brijendra Singh’s ticket will be taken. Apart from this, Lok Sabha candidates of Haryana will be discussed.

After the resignation of Brijendra Singh, the path has now been cleared for BJP’s government ally JJP in Haryana. According to sources, now BJP can give one Lok Sabha seat to alliance partner JJP in Haryana. There is a possibility that JJP Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala may be made the candidate from Hisar Lok Sabha seat. Although JJP leaders are still doubtful about the alliance, the reason for this is that till now no clear indication has been given by the central leadership of BJP regarding this.

Former Union Minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh had held a “Meri Awaaz Suno” rally in Jind on 2 October 2023. Here he had announced to leave the party if the BJP-JJP alliance continues. MP son Brijendra Singh had supported his father’s decision. He had said during that time that he has freed himself from bondage to take the decision. Brijendra resigned after 6 months of the announcement.

In the Jind rally, Brijendra Singh, son of former Union Minister Birendra Singh and BJP MP from Hisar, openly supported his father’s decision. He had said during that time that he has freed himself from bondage to take the decision. Brijendra Singh had said from the stage in the rally that Chaudhary Saheb, whatever you do, do it from your heart. You have done politics thoughtfully for 50 years, that much is enough. Now do not think about me i.e. Brijendra Singh whether any of your decisions will benefit or harm me. Do only what feels right to you.

The Rajya Sabha parliamentary bulletin confirmed Nadda’s resignation, stating, “Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, an elected member of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha), representing the State of Himachal Pradesh, resigned his seat in the Rajya Sabha and his resignation has been accepted by the Chairman, Rajya Sabha w.e.f 4th March, 2024.” JP Nadda, originally from Himachal Pradesh, has served as a Rajya Sabha member for the state since 2012.

Court in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, declared former Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MP and actor Jaya Prada an “absconder” in connection with two cases involving election code violations. The court issued arrest orders, directing her to appear on March 6 after she failed to attend court despite multiple summonses and non-bailable warrants.

The cases are related to alleged breaches of the Model Code of Conduct during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with registrations made at Kemari and Swar police stations. Despite repeated summonses, Jaya Prada, the former MP, did not attend the special MP-MLA court, resulting in seven non-bailable warrants being issued against her, yet law enforcement couldn’t bring her before the court.

Jaya Prada, who ran as the BJP candidate from Rampur in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, lost to Azam Khan of the Samajwadi Party. Previously elected to the Lok Sabha from Rampur in 2004 and 2009 on a Samajwadi Party ticket, she was subsequently expelled from the party.

In response to the court’s declaration, the police revealed that Jaya Prada was avoiding arrest, and all her known mobile numbers were switched off. Consequently, under Section 82 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the court declared her an absconder.

</excerpt>

Reacting to Karnataka Minister DK Suresh’s controversial statement about the possibility of demanding a separate nation, Union Minister Anurag Thakur emphasized that the BJP is committed to preventing any division within the country. Condemning Suresh’s remarks, Thakur expressed concern, stating, “Mohabbat Ki Dukan mein Nafrat Ka Saman bik raha hai (In the shop of love, things of hatred are being sold).” He asserted the BJP’s determination to safeguard the unity of the nation, declaring, “We will not let the country be divided. First, we saved the country from their loot, and now we will save the country from being divided.”

Opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, also strongly denounced any talks of dividing the country. Addressing the House, Kharge, the Congress national president, asserted, “From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, the country and its people are one and will remain so.” He made it clear that any individual advocating for the breakup of the country would not be tolerated, regardless of party affiliation, stating, “Anyone who speaks of breaking the country can’t be tolerated, regardless of which party he belongs to. Mallikarjun Kharge will be the first to say that from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, we are one and we will be so.”

The controversy originated when DK Suresh, a Lok Sabha MP from Bengaluru and the brother of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, claimed that the southern states were facing injustice as the Centre was collecting significant taxes from them but not allocating a fair share in return. Suresh warned that if this perceived injustice continued, there could be a demand for a separate nation. He argued, “If the government doesn’t go in for necessary course correction, all southern states will have to raise the demand for a separate country.”

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP in Haryana, which has held power for nearly a decade, is redirecting its focus to rural areas. In a bid to secure the support of rural voters, the Manohar government recently waived off pending water bills amounting to Rs 372 crore for over 28 lakh residents in rural areas. Simultaneously, the party is conducting the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, directly engaging with more than 6,500 villages across the state.

This strategic move is prompted by the party’s 21.5% decline in vote share within just five months, from 58.2% in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to 36.7% in the subsequent assembly elections. Although the BJP won all 10 Lok Sabha seats in 2019, the reduced vote share led to a lack of absolute majority in the assembly, necessitating the formation of a coalition government.

Approximately 60% of Haryana’s voters have rural connections, prompting the BJP to intensify its efforts in villages to prevent a recurrence of the 2019 scenario.

Political analysts in Haryana highlight that around 25% of the state’s population consists of Jats, who remain displeased with the BJP due to the events surrounding the Jat reservation movement in 2016. Recognizing this discontent, the BJP has actively pursued non-Jat politics in the predominantly Jat-influenced state.

In the 2019 assembly elections, rural voters favored Congress, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) over the BJP. BJP struggled in Jat-dominated regions like Bagar, Bangar, and Khadar, failing to secure an absolute majority.

To address concerns arising from the farmers’ agitation, especially among Jats, the BJP is implementing an aggressive strategy in rural areas. The Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra serves as a direct channel to rural voters, promoting various schemes initiated by the BJP at both the central and state levels. Additionally, district-level officials are addressing citizens’ issues on the spot during the yatra.

The state government has instructed district officers to promptly resolve problems raised during the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra events in villages. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently announced plans to sign an MoU with African countries, facilitating the exchange of agricultural knowledge. The government aims to send Haryana farmers to African nations to learn modern farming and irrigation techniques. Subsidies for farmers to travel to Vietnam are also in the pipeline to expose them to the latest agricultural technologies.

</excerpt>

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the politics over seat sharing in Maharashtra has already begun. Maharashtra has 48 seats out of which it was earlier decided that the BJP will contest on 26 seats and the remaining 22 seats will be distributed equally among the rest of the alliance partners in the state which are Shiv Sena Shinde and NCP led by Ajit Pawar. But post 5 states assembly elections, BJP has gained confidence that guarantee ka doosra naam Modi, which ultimately means it is easier for the BJP to contest on more seats in the state and gain more.

In fact, the recent meeting took place in the mid of December between RSS and BJP state cadre in which it was suggested that the BJP will gain more in state assembly elections if they go or contest election by their own than the alliance partner joining hands post polls.
But as far as the Lok Sabha elections are concerned, BJP is in the mood that it will go along with the alliance partners. They will contest election together. There will be proper seat sharing but ultimately, the final word for constituency and nomination will be decided by the BJP.

Now, this formula of 26 and 22 has started changing. As per an internal survey, Ajit Pawar group can win 4 seats in Lok Sabha, which are Raigarh, Shirur, Baramati and satara. In Raigarh, the NCP has a strong name, which is Sunil Tatkare. In Shirur, Ajit Pawar is in favour to give the seat to Amol Kolhe who joined Ajit Pawar and then left the party and joined hands with Sharad Pawar once again but he is still in a state of mind to again come and join hands with Ajit Pawar when it comes to Lok Sabha elections. Here if Amol kolhe comes and contests from the Shirur seat, then it is easier for Ajit Pawar to win the seat.
Baramati seat is very prestigious for Pawar family. There was a murmering that Pawar‘s wife Sunita will contest from this particular seat. Later, Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar‘s name also popped up that he would contest from the same Baramati seat.

Then, the another important seat is Satara where Srinivas Patil has won the seat but due to his age criteria, his son Sarang Patil wishes to contest this time. But there is a possibility that Ram Raje Naik Nimbalkar will be the face from Ajit Pawar side and if that happens, then there is a large possibility that Sharad Pawar may give support for the name of Prithviraj Chavan, leading to an interesting fight.

Apart from that, Thane, Parabhani and Osmanabad are the three seats where Ajit Pawar is keeping an eye to get it. Again, Thane is very prestigious constituency from where Chief Minister Eknath shinde himself comes from. But here too, the NCP has a popular name, Aanand Paranjpe.
Currently, Eknath Shinde is struggling to remain Kalyan sit with him from where his son Shrikant Shinde has been elected. But BJP is very adamant that Kalyan seat will remain with the BJP. If that happens, then Eknath Shinde needs to fight with Ajit Pawar for Thane seat to be given for his son.

The BJP has been under fire from Congressman and acting chief minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, for the three Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan’s lack of announcement of their chief ministers’ identities. Gehlot expressed dissatisfaction ahead of a crucial meeting to assess the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly elections, claiming that “there is no discipline in this party.”

Gehlot, who is in Delhi for the meeting, accused the BJP of polarizing the elections in Rajasthan by raising religious issues and spreading misinformation. He remarked on the BJP’s delay in announcing the Rajasthan Chief Minister, stating that if the Congress had taken a similar amount of time, the BJP would have criticized them. Gehlot emphasized the need for the new government to quickly make decisions, citing the example of the Gogamedi case, where he had to sign a document for an NIA probe.

The Congress leader highlighted issues such as triple talaq, the abrogation of Article 370, the Kanhaiya Lal murder, and false narratives about monetary distributions based on religion as factors contributing to the BJP’s victory in the assembly elections. Despite these allegations, Gehlot mentioned that the Congress would cooperate with the new government.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party MP Rahul Gandhi arrived at the AICC headquarters in Delhi for a crucial meeting to review the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly polls. Rajasthan Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra emphasized the party’s focus on analyzing shortcomings and making corrections for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress brass held separate meetings to review losses in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, seeking detailed reports from state unit chiefs on the party’s performance. The recent assembly election results, particularly the losses in the Hindi heartland, dealt a significant blow to Congress’s prospects for the 2024 elections, leading to a reevaluation of strategies and performance. In Rajasthan, the BJP emerged victorious, winning 115 seats, while the Congress trailed with 69 seats.

In light of the 2024 general elections, the party is considering appointing new faces to key CM positions in these heartland states.

Despite the presence of experienced former Chief Ministers like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, and Raman Singh, BJP sources highlighted the possibility of ushering in a newer leadership generation.

Following the poll triumphs, the BJP’s top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and party chief JP Nadda, engaged in a marathon four-and-a-half-hour deliberation at the Prime Minister’s residence. This meeting pondered the frontrunners for the CM positions in these states.

Earlier consultations with the BJP’s state in-charges by Shah and Nadda gathered information on potential candidates. The central leadership is likely to appoint observers to oversee the election of leaders by newly elected MLAs in these states.

For the Madhya Pradesh CM role, contenders include incumbent Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union ministers Prahlad Patel, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Narendra Singh Tomar, and senior leader Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the array of potential candidates includes former CM Vasundhara Raje, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Arjun Ram Meghwal, state president C. P. Joshi, and other prominent leaders.

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is one of the candidates, along with State BJP President Arun Kumar Sao, opposition leader Dharamlal Kaushik, and former IAS officer O P Chaudhary. Nonetheless, the BJP’s penchant for surprise selections keeps the final decision shrouded in mystery.

Celebrating the ‘Ram Rath Yatra’ at his Bhopal residence, Chouhan expressed joy over the imminent consecration of Lord Ram’s grand temple in Ayodhya by PM Modi on January 22, next year.

Amid speculation among senior BJP leaders vying for the Chief Minister’s post after the party’s resounding triumph in the state’s recent assembly polls, Chouhan clarified his stance, stating he never aspired to the position and remains a committed party worker.

“I’ve never aimed for the Chief Minister’s post—not then, not now. I’ll tirelessly carry out any party duties entrusted to me. Working with PM Narendra Modi has always been a source of pride,” Chouhan emphasized in his statement to ANI.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Kamal Nath held a review meeting with party candidates in Bhopal, expressing optimism among party workers and announcing plans to travel to Delhi.

Madhya Pradesh’s recent assembly elections on November 17 saw the BJP secure a resounding victory with 163 out of 230 seats. The Congress trailed with 66 seats, while the Bharat Adivasi Party won a single seat, as announced last Sunday along with the results of three other states.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the verge of securing a remarkable hat-trick in three state assembly elections where the counting is underway. Yogi attributed this incredible feat to the unwavering trust of the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee.

In a fervent post on ‘X,’ Yogi Adityanath expressed, “Under the leadership and guidance of respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, BJP getting a hat-trick in the election results of four states with a huge majority in three states. This is a ‘guarantee of public trust’ on ‘Modi’s guarantee’.” The statement comes as the counting of votes in the four-state assembly elections enters its final stages.

Yogi Adityanath extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the dedicated workers and esteemed voters of the Bharatiya Janata Party, recognizing their pivotal role in achieving this momentous victory.

The BJP is poised to create a historic record in Madhya Pradesh, signalling its expected return to power after having ruled the state for 18 of the past 20 years. This outcome reflects the party’s firm organizational stronghold in the state and the widespread popularity of its schemes and leadership.

Contrastingly, Rajasthan appears to be following a trend of rotating governments, with the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot seemingly on its way out after over three decades. Chhattisgarh witnessed a strong BJP comeback, defying expectations of the ruling Congress’s success, credited to a robust campaign and aligned promises matching those of the Congress.

As the counting of votes continues in the four states that went to the polls last month, the BJP’s triumphant performance underscores the undeniable impact of Modi’s leadership and the party’s resonating appeal among the electorate. The unfolding scenario hints at a resounding political shift, with the BJP’s hat-trick poised to make history.

</excerpt>

Madhya Pradesh Polls: Madhya Pradesh, a state where the BJP faced challenges in securing a majority in 2018, is predicted to witness a return to power for the saffron party, according to exit polls. The NewsX Poll of Polls positions the BJP at 119 seats in the 230-member Assembly, with the Congress trailing at 107. Other parties may secure four seats in an assembly where the majority mark is 116.

According to the PolStrat exit poll, the BJP is expected to win 106-116 seats, while the Congress is expected to win 111-121. Other parties fall between 0 and 6. According to the Jan Ki Baat exit poll, the BJP has 113 seats, the Congress has 112, and others have five seats. Matrize predicts 118-130 seats for the BJP, 97-107 for the Congress, and 0 for others.

In the last Assembly Elections held on November 28, 2018, the Indian National Congress emerged as the single largest party, with Kamal Nath assuming office as the Chief Minister. The ABP-C Voter Exit Poll now suggests a resurgence for the Congress, projecting the party to win between 113 and 137 seats, while the BJP is expected to secure seats between 88 and 112. The Congress is also anticipated to draw a vote share of 44.1%, a growth from 40.9% in the last election, while the BJP may see a minor dip in the vote percentage at 40.7%, down from 41%.

The 230-member assembly went to the polls in a single phase on November 17, with the BJP and the Congress vying for power. The BJP won 109 seats in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections. Battling anti-incumbency after nearly two decades in power, the BJP relied on Prime Minister Modi’s appeal and the strategic acumen of Amit Shah. The Congress rejuvenated after setbacks in 2018, aimed to capitalize on perceived anti-incumbency and controversies within the state BJP unit.

As the state awaits election results, exit polls show a closely contested battle with implications for the Madhya Pradesh political landscape and broader national dynamics. The outcome will be closely watched as the BJP attempts to make a comeback in a state where it has traditionally held sway.

Even though most exit polls predicted 57 seats for Congress, Baghel predicted that the number would rise to 75 by the time results were announced on December 3.

Addressing reporters after several exit polls placed Congress in the lead, Baghel highlighted that the quoted numbers in these projections would stabilize in the coming days. Regardless of exit poll projections, Baghel stated with confidence that Congress is poised to form the government in Chhattisgarh with a significant majority.

Referring to India Today’s Chanakya poll predicting 57–66 seats for Congress, Baghel asserted that this number would rise to 75 in the days leading up to the counting day. Responding to questions about the BJP launching an ‘Operation Lotus,’ Baghel dismissed the possibility, stating, “They won’t be able to do so. We have a majority; we believe in our hard work and have faith in the people.”

While three polls predict a clear victory for Congress, others suggest the party is within the winning range. The Congress fought the election, with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel leading the charge.

According to ABP C-Voter predictions, Congress is poised to win 41–53 seats in the 90-member assembly, with the BJP expected to secure 36–48 seats and others 0–4 seats.

The India Today Axis My India poll predicts Congress getting 40–50 seats, the BJP 36–46 seats, and others getting 1–5 seats. The Republic TV exit poll gives Congress 44-52 seats, the BJP 34-42 seats, and 0-2 seats for others.

The India TV-CNX poll predicts 46–56 seats for Congress, 30–40 seats for the BJP, and 3-5 for others. Jan Ki Baat exit poll projects 42–53 seats for Congress and 34–45 for the BJP, with 0–3 seats for others.

The P-Marq poll suggests Congress is poised to win 46–54 seats with a 44.6% vote share, BJP 35–42 seats with a 42.9% vote share, and others getting 0–2 seats with 12.5% votes.

Chhattisgarh went to the polls in two phases on November 7 and 17, and the counting of votes, along with the other four states, is scheduled for December 3.

CM Yogi asserted, “Our government is fulfilling another announcement made in the ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra’ during the Assembly elections-2022. Before 2014, people were not able to get gas connections. Even if a connection was available, they had to stand in long lines for cylinders.”

The Ladli Bahna will get the benefit of housing along with monthly financial assistance.

Similarly, the party will make arrangements for the purchase of wheat at Rs 2,700 a quintal and paddy at Rs 3,100 a quintal.
During this, BJP leader JP Nadda said, “The importance of the manifesto, Sankalp Patra has been declining slowly along with time because political parties first attract people and then forget. (They) make promises, forget, and mislead the public. But the BJP is the only party that has implemented the manifesto in letter and spirit. It is our track record.”
On the occasion, CM Chouhan said that it was a very auspicious day and the BJP’s Sankalp Patra was launched in the presence of the BJP National President.

We made a policy like the Ladli Laxmi Yojana,” CM Chouhan said.

Preneet Kaur, the wife of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, is currently in the BJP.

The Parliamentary Ethics Committee adopted the report on Thursday, with Kaur among the six members supporting it and four opposed. Kaur’s decision to vote against Moitra was backed by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who commended her for standing uncompromisingly for national security. Kaur was suspended from the Congress in February for alleged anti-party activities and supporting the BJP.

Moitra, accused of ‘cash-for-questions,’ faced allegations of targeting the Adani Group in Lok Sabha at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. The Ethics Committee’s draft report accuses Moitra of ‘unethical conduct,’ sharing her login credentials, and raising concerns about her visits to the UAE.

Vinod Sonkar confirmed that the report was adopted by a majority vote and sent to the Lok Sabha Speaker, stating that some members tried to obstruct the probe. The draft report reveals that Moitra’s login was accessed multiple times from Dubai, raising concerns about the fairness of the inquiry and prompting opposition MPs to submit dissent notes. The committee will submit the report to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for further action.

The meeting, scheduled at 11 am in the Ramkatha Museum, will be followed by religious visits by cabinet members.

Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Nandi expressed the significance of the moment, stating, “This day is historical and will be written in history in golden letters for the coming generations of this country and state.” Cabinet Minister Jaiveer Singh added, “Today’s agenda will be amazing and unprecedented, dedicated to the development of Ayodhya.”

Security measures are in place ahead of the meeting, with strict checks conducted. The Ram Katha Museum, where the cabinet session will be held, is adorned with grand decorations, featuring posters of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Hanuman.

The decision to hold the meeting in Ayodhya aligns with the anniversaries of two pivotal events in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple construction saga: the laying of the temple’s first foundation stone on November 9, 1989, and the Supreme Court’s approval for its construction on November 9, 2019.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lead a prayer ceremony at the Hanumangarhi temple before the meeting. Subsequently, ministers will visit the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex and offer prayers at the Shri Ramlala Virajman temple. Besides the religious aspects, the cabinet is expected to focus on development initiatives and preparations for the upcoming Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya.

</excerpt>

CM Nitish Kumar’s Bold Remark: The Bihar Assembly was abruptly adjourned until 2 p.m. after the start of its proceedings, as the opposition BJP persisted in demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over comments he made the previous day about women.

At the assembly’s 11 a.m. session, Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha claimed that Kumar had become mentally unfit to govern the state and should resign. The chief minister, present in the House, stood to offer an explanation, expressing regret for his remarks. He emphasised that he has always supported women’s education and saw a direct correlation between women’s education levels and the fertility rate, explaining the context of his comments.

The chief minister, who was present in the House, rose to offer his explanation and said, “I have expressed my regret while talking to journalists outside the House. I am ready to do so again. If my words have caused any hurt, I condemn myself (main apni ninda karta hoon)”.

However, the opposition members remained resolute, storming the well of the House and demanding the chief minister’s resignation. The Speaker reminded the opposition members that they have no right to demand the resignation of the chief minister, who enjoys the confidence of the people. He also assured that any unparliamentary remarks in the chief minister’s speech would be expunged if found.

As the ruckus persisted, the Speaker adjourned the House until lunch.

Women’s wings of Left parties supporting the ruling ‘Mahagathbandhan government in the state criticised the chief minister’s remarks. AIDWA, affiliated with CPI (M), and AIPWA, linked to CPI (ML) Liberation, demanded an apology from the chief minister and described his language and body language as vulgar and indicative of patriarchy. They also criticised female members of the House for not raising objections during the session, suggesting their sole concern was their own political careers.

</excerpt>

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda has remarked that the Congress party and corruption are intrinsically linked, with corruption being synonymous with the Congress.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, Nadda stated, “Congress is equivalent to corruption. Party and corruption are two sides of the same coin. Wherever there is Congress, there is corruption, oppression, looting, and fraud.”He went on to contrast the BJP’s governance with that of the Congress, emphasising that wherever the BJP is in power, development and public welfare follow. He characterised the difference between the two parties as the contrast between light and darkness, akin to the difference between Amavasya (the new moon) and Poornamasi (the full moon).

“Madhya Pradesh was counted as one of the BIMARU states during the Congress’s governance. Now, it is one of the developed states. This is the difference”, he counted. During his speech, Nadda also drew attention to various corruption cases, including the AgustaWestland scam, the coal scam, and the MGNREGA scam, to illustrate the association between Congress and corruption.

Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states scheduled for elections in one phase on November 17, with the vote counting set for December 3. Voters will choose legislators for the state’s 230 Assembly constituencies.

Speaking at an election rally in Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh, CM Adityanath remarked, “The Congress could have built the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in 1947. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had wanted it, but the Congress leadership rejected it.” He further noted that the Congress consistently opposed the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, even going so far as to question the existence of Lord Ram. He suggested that a party claiming to be the oldest one should not be allowed to dismiss the heroes and symbols of inspiration.

Yogi Adityanath’s comments come in response to Congress’s Madhya Pradesh chief Kamal Nath’s statement that the BJP cannot take full credit for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Kamal Nath also mentioned that former Prime Minister and Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi had “got the locks opened” at the temporary Ram temple on the disputed Babri Masjid site in 1986 to allow Hindus to worship there.

CM Yogi further alleged that during a time when the nation faced significant challenges from Naxalism, terrorism, and corruption, the Congress leadership was more focused on one family than on national concerns. He argued that Congress and problems have become synonymous terms.

</excerpt>

Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Tuesday, in a blistering attack on the Congress leadership, that whenever the Congress party assumes power, the audacity of terrorists and Naxalites escalates within the country. Speaking at a rally in Bishrampur, Chhattisgarh Surjapur, PM Modi underscored the failure of the Congress government to contain Naxalism in the state.

He contended, “Whenever Congress comes to power, the courage of terrorists and Naxalites increases in the country. The Congress government has failed to control Naxal violence. In recent times, many BJP workers have been taken away from us. A few days ago, one of our workers was shot dead.”

PM Modi also highlighted the rise of human trafficking and drug-related activities under the Congress rule in the Surguja division of Chhattisgarh, lamenting the targeting of women and girls from tribal families. He expressed frustration at the Congress’s lack of response to these issues, attributing the difficulties faced by the people to the Congress’s appeasement policies.

Furthermore, PM Modi accused the Congress of attempting to thwart Droupadi Murmu’s ascent to becoming the first Tribal President of India. He praised the BJP for ensuring this historic achievement, despite the Congress’s resistance.

He also criticized the Congress’s past attitude toward Adivasis, claiming that when the Congress was in power at the Centre, it believed that investing money in the Adivasi community was a waste.

PM Modi conveyed the BJP’s commitment to the betterment of Chhattisgarh, stressing that the BJP had established the state and would be responsible for its prosperity. He added, “BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sawaregi” (BJP has formed and now we will only make things good in the state).

The first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections is currently underway. The Election Commission of India reported a voter turnout of 22.97% as of 11 am. Notably, Kanker recorded the highest voter turnout at 34.65%, while Bijapur had the lowest at 9.11%. The state is conducting elections in two phases, with the second phase scheduled for November 17, and the vote counting set for December 3.

During his campaign rallies in Durg and Ratlam, he revealed that his government has decided to extend the free ration scheme for the poor for the next five years. This announcement comes as a boost to the BJP’s election campaign.

“I have decided that the BJP government will extend the scheme of providing free ration to 80 crore poor people of the country for the next 5 years. Your affections and blessings give me the power to take such decisions, ” PM Modi said at the election rally in Durg.

Prime Minister Modi attacked the Congress party, accusing them of wanting to keep people in poverty. He emphasized that his government would provide free ration to 80 crore underprivileged individuals for the next five years, stating, “Your affections and blessings give me the power to take such decisions.”

Modi also highlighted the money that the poor would save through this extended scheme, which could be used for other essential needs. He declared this extension as a “guarantee of Modi,” ensuring that the promise would be fulfilled.

Last year, the Central Government had already announced free food grain distribution to over 81 crore people for one year under the National Food Security Act.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said that the country has benefitted greatly from Vajpayee’s leadership. He played a pivotal role in boosting our nation’s progress and in taking it to the 21st century in a wide range of sectors.”

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born in Gwalior in 1924. He was the face of the BJP for decades and was the first non-Congress prime minister of India to have served a full tenure in office.

Vajpayee functioned as the Prime Minister of India from 16 May 1996, to 1 June 1996, and again from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004. He also served as India’s External Affairs Minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Moraji Desai from 1977 to 1979. This is the first meeting of the BJP to be held in the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated by BJP national president JP Nadda at the meeting for the victories in the recent elections in the northeast.
The meeting of the BJP in the Parliament takes place every Tuesday when the House is in session.
Discussion on crucial issues including the recently passed Finance Bill and ongoing protests are likely to take place in this meeting.
Lok Sabha approved the Finance Bill 2023 which had an amendment from the bill approved by the House last week. The bill with an amendment moved by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was passed earlier in the day by Rajya Sabha.

</excerpt>

Though the Congress is trying to cash in on Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, it is far from yielding the desired result as the opposition parties seem to be divided on a host of issues. While in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray has showed his displeasure over Rahul Gandhi’s statements on Veer Savarkar, the mood of JDU leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is swinging from time to time. If these two leaders turn towards the Bhartiya Janata Party once again, it will not be a smooth sailing for the Congress in the upcoming general election of 2024. On the other hand, the BJP knows very well that if the RJD-JDU coalition continues in Bihar, it will be tough for the ruling dispensation at the Centre to repeat the 2019 general election victory with the same margin. Similar is the case in keeeping in view the future agenda, the BJP is trying to woo both Nitish Kumar and Uddhav Thackeray as Bihar and Maharashtra together account for 88 Lok Sabha constituencies. In the Parliamentary polls of 2019, BJP had fought with the JDU and Shiv Sena in Bihar and Maharashtra respectively. There is also a reason for the swing in Nitish’s behaviour. Nitish wanted the Prime Ministerial face to be decided first for the 2024 general elections but the Congress was quite indifferent to it and gave a message that it will decide on the issue on its own.

As Nitish realized that his number is not going to come, he first changed his stand against his ally RJD. At the time of ED and CBI action, he did not say anything in favour of Lalu Yadav’s family and remained silent. Not only this, two days ago, he reached the house of MLC Sanjay Mayukh, a close aide of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. But the discussions gained more momentum when Nitish did not react to Rahul Gandhi’s case. Nitish did not even participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. It seems that the BJP is once again running ‘Operation Lotus’ in Bihar. In Maharashtra too, Uddhav Thackeray’s displeasure is signifying a lot.

Aggravating the situation further for the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis a few days ago after he got angry with Rahul Gandhi’s statement on Veer Savarkar, resulting into boycotting of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s dinner today.

Even though the opposition parties seem to be united on the issue of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, they have their own issue to settle. Though they are seen together during the Parliament session, their genuine fight is with the Congress.

The likes of the Samajwadi Party , Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Trinmool Congress, Aam Adami Party and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen are far from riding the coalition boat.

Under these political circumstances the Congress will have to fight Rahul enigma alone.

Speaking at a convention of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday took a dig at the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) saying, “CPI (M) and BJP belong to the same team…BJP’s ideology is to be self-centred…Our compulsion is to obey the Constitution. But today history, geography, and politics are being forgotten; education and culture are being changed.”

The TMC leader also spoke on the Trinamool congress’s vision as it completed 25 years on the 1st of January, saying that the party aimed at a united India with a strengthened federal system. Earlier on Sunday, she had taken to Twitter, congratulating everyone for believing in the power of, ‘ Maa, Maati, Manush ( mother, soil, people).

Recalling the struggle faced by the party over the years and the role its workers played in empowering people, fighting injustice, and inspiring hope among the masses, she tweeted, “This day, 25 years ago, TMC came into existence. I recall our struggles through the years & the role we have played in empowering people, fighting injustice and inspiring hope. I heartily congratulate everyone for believing in the power of MAA, MAATI, MANUSH,”
