Ben Affleck Drops Bombshell: He’s Not the Lead in The Accountant 2, Meet the Real Star

June 6, 2025, 2:27 pm

In a surprising twist, The Accountant 2 shifts the spotlight from Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal to Cynthia Addai-Robinson, who leads the story as Marybeth Medina. Now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, the sequel marks a narrative change, with Affleck revealing that Addai-Robinson is the true protagonist. This new direction allows Affleck and Bernthal to embrace more dynamic, supporting roles, while director Gavin O’Connor and the returning team craft a fresh, character-driven storyline that builds on the original film’s legacy.

Surprising Lead of ‘The Accountant 2’

The Accountant 2 is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, but the sequel comes with a surprising twist where Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal are not the main characters. Speaking during a virtual press conference alongside director Gavin O’Connor and other cast members, Affleck revealed that the true lead of the film is Cynthia Addai-Robinson’s character, Marybeth Medina.

“The secret of this movie is that Cynthia is the protagonist, and she’s the lead in the movie,” he shared. “She is the entrée for the audience, which means we get to play character parts.”

Affleck and Bernthal Step Back

Affleck added that stepping out of the spotlight gave him and Bernthal the freedom to play more dynamic, supporting roles. “There are a whole bunch of expectations and stuff that go with being the lead… That affords Jon and me the luxury of doing the sort of two-hander… odd couple thing.”

Addai-Robinson echoed Affleck’s comments, describing how her role and her confidence have evolved since the 2016 original. “I was nervous. I was kind of out of my depth… And here we are eight years later… I felt like I had also grown.” She added, “These guys are kind of crazy and they’re also kind of challenging my view of how to serve justice.”

Returning Team and Fresh Story

The Accountant 2 reunites O’Connor, screenwriter Bill Dubuque, and important cast members such as J.K. Simmons. However, with a new narrative focus and character-driven storytelling, the sequel promises an exciting, surprising adventure.

Ben Affleck Reacts to Being Called Hollywood’s Top Bachelor, Talks About Dating Again

May 10, 2025, 1:46 pm

Ben Affleck was recently approached by a paparazzo in West Hollywood, who asked him about being named “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.” This comes four months after his divorce from Jennifer Lopez was finalized. As reported by E! News, Affleck laughed off the comment and responded, “Very good, very good,” showing he took the question in stride.

Still Likes Latinas, Affleck Confirms

During the same brief conversation, the photographer asked Affleck if he still had a preference for Latinas. He replied without hesitation, “Yes, of course I do.” This isn’t the first time Affleck has shown signs of being open to dating again. Just last month, he discussed how he relates to the character he plays in The Accountant 2, Christian Wolff. The character has trouble forming romantic relationships, something Affleck finds relatable.

“Here’s a guy who’s trying to figure out, he wants to have a relationship with a woman,” Affleck said, explaining his connection to the role. He added, “He’s trying to figure out how to do that, how to put yourself out there,” as per E! News.

Dating Isn’t Easy, Says Affleck

Affleck acknowledged that dating—especially after a breakup—isn’t simple. He talked about how hard it is to understand signs and figure out whether someone is interested or not. “It’s not easy for anyone figuring out relationships,” he said. He continued, “Particularly at the very early part, where you’re trying to gauge, ‘What does this signal mean? Is this person looking at me? Do they like me? Am I going to humiliate myself if I go over there?'”

Jennifer Lopez Focuses on Family and Healing

While Affleck is beginning to explore the dating scene, Jennifer Lopez is spending more time with her children and working on her own growth. She’s been open about how she helped her twins, Max and Emme, cope with the split.

According to E! News, Lopez said in an interview that she made a promise to her kids. “I promised them that and I did it,” she shared. “And they feel it now. That gives me a great sense of peace in my life.”

Ben Affleck Says No to Son’s 6,000 USD Sneakers, Stresses Value of Hard Work

April 23, 2025, 2:23 pm

Ben Affleck may be a millionaire, but he still teaches his kids about money. Recently, he turned down his 13-year-old son Samuel’s request for a $6,000 pair of sneakers.

Affleck Opens Up About the Incident

During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, Ben talked about a viral moment that caught public attention. In that clip, he was seen reacting to Samuel’s interest in $6,000 Dior Air Force Ones.

At that moment, Ben made it clear he wouldn’t buy them. He recalled, “He wanted these sneakers, and I was like, ‘These sneakers are $6,000, what are you talking about? What are you gonna do, mow lawns? You got $6,000? He was like, “We have the money.” I was like, “I have the money! You’re broke.”

Despite Wealth, He Insists Kids Must Earn It

Furthermore, Ben explained that he wants his kids to understand the value of hard work. He said he loves them and wants to provide for them. However, he believes doing everything for them would do more harm than good.

He said, “You love your kids. You want to give them everything and do everything for them, but I think you definitely do them a disservice by not connecting (if) you want something that you want, you have to work for that.”

In fact, Ben mentioned that his older children are already working. One recently got a job in a shop, while the other, who is in college, is trying to get a summer internship.

Meanwhile, Samuel is just starting to realize that luxury comes with effort. Ben added, “He’s reckoning with that reality right now. He’s looking at no shoes in his closet. Well, he’s got shoes, just no crazy expensive fancy shoes. And I’m like, ‘Well, if you want that, you can work 1,000 hours.’ You know what I mean? Minimum wage. And once you work 1,000 hours, you may not want to spend that on a pair of sneakers.”

Viral Video Sparked Conversation on Parenting

Earlier this year, Ben took Samuel to a sneaker convention in Los Angeles. During that visit, Samuel noticed the $6,000 Dior Air Jordans and asked for them.

But Ben didn’t give in. Instead, he joked, “That’s a lot of lawns you’ve gotta mow there. You just like those because they’re expensive.”

As a result, the clip went viral on social media. It led to a wider conversation about parenting, privilege, and how to raise kids with good money values—especially when you’re wealthy.

Ben Affleck Looks Back at His Career’s Highs and Lows

April 20, 2025, 2:43 pm

Ben Affleck’s path in Hollywood has included many successes along with several mistakes. Before gaining fame as an Oscar-winning director and respected actor, he had taken roles that didn’t go as planned. Despite that, he admitted those early experiences still gave him some value—whether through lessons, stories, or money.

While audiences often remember him for major films like Good Will Hunting and Argo, Affleck’s career also includes lesser-known and less successful projects. He acknowledged that even if some of those roles didn’t bring fame, they gave him something to learn from.

Affleck Felt Phantoms Was a Major Flop

One of those not-so-great moments came in 1998 when he starred in Phantoms, a horror movie based on a novel by Dean Koontz. In the film, he played a sheriff who investigated strange happenings in a small Colorado town. The cast featured well-known actors like Peter O’Toole, Rose McGowan, Liev Schreiber, and Joanna Going. However, the movie didn’t impress critics or audiences and failed at the box office.

In a video interview with GQ where he talked about his filmography, Affleck said Phantoms wasn’t a good film. He joked that people used to say he was amazing in Phantoms, but then admitted the movie was, in his words, “utter garbage.” He didn’t hesitate to share how disappointed he was with the final result.

He Found Some Benefits Despite the Film’s Failure

Affleck also mentioned that although the movie was a failure, it had some benefits. He recalled that he got to ski during the shoot and earned about $100,000 for his role. At that time, he believed that he was financially secure and even thought he could retire with that amount. He said those memories still made him laugh.

A Special Moment with Peter O’Toole

The most unforgettable part of working on Phantoms, Affleck noted, wasn’t about the film’s story or special effects—it was about meeting Peter O’Toole. He shared that he had a unique experience when he spent time with O’Toole and got high with him. He said that moment felt so surreal that he couldn’t think of anything else in life that could top it.

Even though the film didn’t help his acting career much, he appreciated the chance to share that unusual moment with a screen legend.

What Phantoms Was About

Directed by Joe Chappelle, Phantoms mixed horror and science fiction with some strange twists. The story followed two sisters—Dr. Jennifer Pailey (Joanna Going) and Lisa (Rose McGowan)—who arrived in a silent, empty town called Snowfield, Colorado. When they found the town deserted and filled with corpses, things quickly turned terrifying.

Sheriff Bryce Hammond, played by Affleck, joined the investigation. Alongside his team, he came across bizarre scenes, such as heads in ovens and creatures that ripped faces apart. They also found the words “Timothy Flyte” written on a mirror, which referred to a British academic who believed the town was being attacked by an ancient alien-like creature called the “Ancient Enemy.”

This monster had powers to change shape, read minds, and absorb people and knowledge. It then created phantoms to spread fear. The only plan the group had was to kill it using bacteria—leading to a chaotic and wild ending.

Not a Great Movie, But a Memorable Experience

Affleck admitted Phantoms was far from a great film and openly called it a bad experience in terms of quality. Still, he said it offered him good memories, a decent paycheck, and a few funny stories to look back on. Even though he thought the movie was poorly made, the things he took away from it remained special to him.

Jennifer Lopez Ready to Date Again After Ben Affleck Split

March 22, 2025, 3:40 pm

Jennifer Lopez is ready to start dating again, just two months after finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck. “Jennifer Lopez is ready to put herself out there again, and she hasn’t given up on finding love,” an insider told Page Six. Her friends have encouraged her to move forward. As a result, she now feels open to meeting someone new, especially after Affleck started spending more time with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

Lopez May Date Someone Outside Hollywood

Affleck shares three children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel—with Garner. Meanwhile, Garner has been in a long-term relationship with businessman John Miller since 2018.

Lopez, on the other hand, is thinking about dating someone outside the entertainment industry. “Jennifer is considering dating somebody who isn’t in the public eye this time around, but she’s not limiting herself to any particular type,” the source said.

Divorce Finalized Amid Affleck and Garner Rumors

Lopez became legally single last month. The court finalized her divorce from Affleck on January 6, but it ruled that the divorce would take effect on February 21, exactly six months after she filed on their second wedding anniversary.

Meanwhile, Affleck and Garner recently sparked rumors of a possible reunion. Earlier this month, they were seen hugging during a paintball outing with their kids. As a result, many started speculating about their relationship. Body language expert Patti Wood told Radar Online, “His hug is not something you do with an ex.”

No Romantic Connection Between Lopez, Garner, and Affleck

Despite the growing speculation, sources insist Affleck has no romantic ties to either Lopez or Garner. “I’d say they’re both relieved to be done with him,” an insider told Page Six.

At the same time, another source revealed that Affleck has been reaching out to Lopez again. “Ben’s an emotional roller coaster,” the source explained. “He’s even been reaching out to Jennifer [Lopez] again recently.”

Additionally, the source dismissed rumors of tension between Lopez and Garner. “The two Jennifers are actually friends. They bonded over co-parenting their kids. I don’t know why the press feels they have to pit women against each other,” the source added.

Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Legally Divorced with $60 Million Mansion Split

February 22, 2025, 12:29 pm

After almost two years of marriage, Hollywood Power Couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are officially divorced. The former partners, who reconnected almost two decades after their first engagement, had their settlement approved by a judge on February 21, 2025, after finalizing it on January 6. They will be dividing their assets during the divorce, featuring the $60 million mansion in Beverly Hills.

Love Story of Jennifer Lopez

If there is anyone who could give the fairytale about second chances a run for its money, it’s these two. The dynamic passion between Affleck and Lopez started back in the early 2000s when a too-sudden engagement was called off in 2004 after intense media pressure weighed in.

Nearly two decades later, they reunited and finally said “I do” again in 2022, pas de deux for the world. That was also the curtain on ‘Bennifer 2.0’, as the chemistry faded yet again. This has gone on for months, but until now, no one knew that they were living apart while working on the divorce.

One of the good benefits of not dealing with that prenup was that dividing assets became one of the highlights of it. The specifics of the settlement have not been released, but sources state that a fair arrangement was reached by both parties, primarily regarding the luxury mansion.

Lopez Focuses on Healing

Lopez is now focused on herself and taking the right steps toward self-care and development. She believes she is in a beautiful chapter of her life where her well-being needs to come first. Meanwhile, Affleck has relied on his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children to get through this tough phase of his life.

Some reports indicate that Garner is said to have lent crucial support as he goes through this transition. On top of that, he had to deal with the current emergency that has rocked Los Angeles due to the ferocious wildfires surrounding the city.

Ben Affleck Replaces Matt Damon in Lead Role for Netflix Thriller ‘Animals’

February 6, 2025, 2:39 pm

Ben Affleck is taking the lead role for the upcoming Netflix thriller, Animals, after scheduling conflicts forced out his longtime buddy and collaborator, Matt Damon. Initially set to appear in the movie, Damon dropped out due to his commitment to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey that clashed with Animals’ production dates.

Damon remains attached to the film as a producer with Affleck and Dani Bernfeld, but it is Affleck who will appear in the movie in the lead role that Damon was initially assigned to.

Story and Cast Lineup

Animals is a thought-provoking thriller with a mayoral candidate and his wife confronted by the kidnapper of their son. Another addition to the film is Gillian Anderson, who made household names in The X-Files, as the female lead. The involvement of Anderson brings great star power into this movie, and the movie promises much enthusiasm as fans can’t stop cheering about her presence in a suspenseful crime story.

Ben Affleck, who was already set to direct the film, now leads the cast in a complex and high-stakes role. Although Affleck’s transition into the lead role of Animals marks a change, his professional relationship with Matt Damon remains strong.

The duo has had a great creative collaboration since 1998 when they won an Academy Award for co-writing Good Will Hunting.

However, the case of Animals will change as Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reunite in the Netflix crime thriller RIP, with Joe Carnahan as the director’s chair. In this new RIP film, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will share the screen with Steven Yeun, Kyle Chandler, and Teyana Taylor.

Ben Affleck’s Projects

The current career of Affleck is blooming because there are multiple upcoming acting and directorial ventures set to hit screens. He would be featured in The Accountant 2 as well as the recent Air release in 2023, a directing project from him, and was very popular.

Audience waiting for such upcoming projects soon by both, the two.

More still, Gillian Anderson is in another great deal after that is coming in White Bird, Scoop, and The Salt Path in 2024. Work is next assigned to her with the much-awaited Tron: Ares having Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Jodie Turner-Smith in cast.

Ben Affleck is reportedly dealing with the challenges of a difficult divorce from actor-singer Jennifer Lopez, and the stress seems to be impacting his health. According to recent reports, the actor has been chain-smoking. Determined to overcome the habit, Ben is said to be seeking assistance from a hypnotherapist.

Ben Affleck

According to RadarOnline.com, Ben Affleck resumed smoking by 2016, and the habit has reportedly worsened, allegedly linked to his brief marriage to Jennifer Lopez. He was even spotted chain-smoking in his car the day after JLo filed for divorce in August last year.

“Ben was so happy 20 years ago when he quit. He swore he’d never go back, but here he is just as addicted as ever and desperate to stop. He hates the way it smells and knows it’s terrible for his health, not to mention a terrible example for his kids,” a source revealed.

The insider further added, “He’s really got only one vice left, the smokes, so no one wants to push him too hard to give that up since he’s done so well staying sober. But it’s obviously not a good habit. Any time he feels stressed, he reaches for a cigarette, and he’s stressed a lot. But he’s saying he’s ready to try hypnosis again and has promised everyone he’ll start January 1. He even booked his first session. He’s telling everyone that he wants to kick off 2025 smoke-free.”

Divorce

After two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck filed for divorce in August last year, following months of speculation about their relationship. In June, the couple had already listed their shared Beverly Hills mansion for sale. Currently, both are focused on finding ways to move forward. Ben has also sought support from his former wife, Jennifer Garner, during this time.

Ben Affleck Adjusts to Single Life, Remains Uninterested in Dating

December 10, 2024, 7:37 am

Following his split from Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck is “not at all interested” in dating. Despite once calling their relationship the “greatest love story,” the couple ended their marriage on their second wedding anniversary earlier this year.

Prioritizing Career and Personal Growth

According to an insider, Affleck is currently focusing on his personal growth and career, rather than seeking a new relationship. Moreover, production on his crime thriller RIP, co-starring Matt Damon, has reportedly slowed due to Affleck’s personal challenges.

Adjusting to Single Life

Affleck spent Thanksgiving and the holidays with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their children. Sources say he is smoothly adjusting to life as a single man. “Ben has no interest in jumping into another relationship at the moment,” the insider shared. He is also “focused on numerous projects” while adapting to his new life.

Taking a Break from Dating

Although Affleck’s divorce from Lopez has not yet been finalized, he remains uninterested in dating. As the insider added, “Even if it were finalized, dating is just not where his head is at.” Instead, Affleck is choosing to focus on his family, career, and personal development.

Great Co-Parenting Relationship

Furthermore, Affleck and Garner maintain a solid co-parenting relationship. There is no “bad blood” between them.

Focused on Work and Family

Finally, Affleck is in a better place now, feeling less stressed and more focused on his work and future projects. While he and Lopez remain connected due to their shared history, Affleck is currently cherishing time away from the spotlight, enjoying precious moments with Garner and their children.

Jennifer Lopez Spills the Tea on New Film ‘Unstoppable’ and Shocking Split from Ben Affleck

November 10, 2024, 6:23 pm

Jennifer Lopez, the multi-talented singer, actress, and undeniable queen of the spotlight, is once again turning heads—not only with her gripping performance in her new movie, ‘Unstoppable,’ but with her raw revelations about her rocky romance with Ben Affleck. And Hollywood insiders are abuzz.

On November 5, Lopez made headlines at a post-screening event for Unstoppable, where she opened up about her role as Judy Robles, the resilient mother of NCAA wrestling champion Anthony Robles. But what really sent shockwaves was her candid discussion about the heartbreaking end of her marriage to Affleck and her struggles with “challenging relationships,” as Page Six reported. Hollywood gossip circles have been swirling with rumors, and now we’re finally hearing it straight from the star herself.

As Lopez explained, she connected deeply with Judy Robles’ journey, sharing how she related to Judy’s battle to balance motherhood with personal turmoil. “I think a lot of women have gone through that,” Lopez revealed, reflecting on the trials many women face, juggling motherhood and inner struggles. The quote alone had tabloids buzzing. Fans couldn’t help but wonder if she was subtly hinting at her own relationship issues with Affleck.

“I wanted to really understand Judy and make sure she felt safe with me [while] sharing details of her experience,” Lopez stated. Yet, Hollywood insiders speculate that embodying Judy may have helped Lopez confront her own relationship challenges with Affleck. As Lopez continues, she reveals Judy’s struggles and sacrifices, expressing how deeply she connects with her character’s protective instincts as a mother. Lopez’s own twins, Max and Emme—now 16 and from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony—are said to be her rock during her separation from Affleck.

“When you talk to Judy’s kids, including Anthony, they say, ‘My mom’s so positive, she’s so great,’ but there was a whole different story there that she was living, that you hide from your children,” Lopez shared, with Page Six noting her powerful words. This striking insight into Lopez’s thoughts has fans speculating: is she also referring to her own family, hiding heartbreak for the sake of her kids?

Affleck, who served as a producer for Unstoppable through his Artists Equity company, recently praised Lopez’s work in the film, telling Page Six that “Jennifer is spectacular.” Yet, Hollywood couldn’t help but notice that while he was full of praise for her career, Affleck stayed mum on their personal split.

Lopez, gracefully responding to Affleck’s compliment, kept things diplomatic, telling the audience, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.” But as Hollywood insiders observe, her response seemed more polished than personal—leading some to wonder if the spark between the two has truly fizzled out for good.

As fans eagerly await Unstoppable, set to hit theaters on December 6, 2024, the world is left speculating on whether Lopez and Affleck’s love story, once the stuff of Hollywood legend, has come to a permanent close.

September 7, 2024, 11:45 am

Jennifer Lopez made a striking debut on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), capturing the spotlight on the first day of the event. The Legacy of the ‘Revenge Dress’

The concept of the “revenge dress” has its roots in a memorable fashion moment from 1994. Following Prince Charles’s admission of infidelity in a televised interview, Princess Diana made a bold statement by wearing a striking off-the-shoulder black silk gown by Christina Stambolian to a fundraising dinner at Kensington Gardens. The gown, initially owned by Diana for three years, became iconic for its powerful symbolism and the impression it left on the public.

Sources close to Lopez and Affleck reveal that while the legal documents are complete, the couple is waiting for the right moment to make their separation public. They are working on finalizing arrangements and preparing a statement that will express mutual respect and their efforts to reconcile, despite ultimately being unable to resolve their differences.

Friends of Jennifer Lopez have noted how Ben Affleck’s recent actions have been interpreted as signals of their deteriorating relationship. Reports indicate that Affleck’s decision to buy a new house in Los Angeles, along with missing Lopez’s birthday and their second wedding anniversary, has deeply affected her.

According to a source who spoke to DailyMail, “The divorce papers were finalized a month ago, but they are waiting for the appropriate time to submit them.” The source added, “When they do release the statement, it will acknowledge their love for each other and their attempts to make things work, but ultimately they couldn’t come to a compromise. They’ve both accepted that what they had is now over.”

Although Lopez is reported to still have strong feelings for Affleck, he has indicated his intentions by moving out of their shared home and into a separate residence in Brentwood. The couple, who were last seen together on May 30th, have since kept their distance. While Lopez has been touring Europe and New York, Affleck has remained in Los Angeles with his children. With Affleck purchasing a new mansion in LA and their Beverly Hills home on the market, it seems increasingly clear that their divorce is approaching its final stages.

Jennifer Lopez Faces Backlash Over $70K Handbag: Internet Calls It ‘Ugly’

August 2, 2024, 4:26 pm

Jennifer Lopez, known for her high-profile relationship with Ben Affleck, recently captured attention for an unexpected reason: her choice of handbag. The 55-year-old singer was spotted shopping in Hampton with her stepdaughter, Violet Affleck, flaunting a Hermes 2011 straw picnic bag paired with a casual outfit of a white tank top and jeans.

The Hermes Kelly Picnic bag, a pre-owned accessory, reportedly cost $70,000 (approximately ₹58 lakh). This revelation, made by a TikTok user, triggered a wave of online debate regarding extravagant spending on luxury items.

Reactions varied widely. Many social media users criticized the bag, questioning the justification for its hefty price tag. Some described the bag as looking cheap or compared it to a basket found in a discount store. Others humorously noted that the cost of the bag could cover an annual salary.

Despite the backlash, a few defended Jennifer Lopez, arguing that she has earned the right to spend her money as she pleases. They highlighted that $70,000 is a drop in the bucket for her and emphasized her influence in the fashion world.

Lopez’s fashion choices continue to be a focal point of public discourse, proving her ability to stay in the limelight with her style decisions.

Ben Affleck to Host Big Celebration Following Split from Jennifer Lopez

July 26, 2024, 2:28 pm

Ben Affleck is reportedly planning a big celebration to mark the end of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. Sources say the actor is eager to throw a large party with close friends as he starts a new chapter in his life. This comes amid rumors of trouble between the high-profile couple, although neither Affleck nor Lopez has officially confirmed their split.

The former couple has been living separately for over a month, and insiders suggest their marriage is nearing its end. Affleck, who has been anxious about the separation and fears a messy divorce, is now reportedly relieved that his “miserable” marriage is coming to an end. He’s excited to celebrate his newfound freedom with a “big blowout” party, potentially at his home in Georgia, where he and Lopez once had a memorable wedding. There’s also speculation he might host the event elsewhere, possibly in LA or even Mexico.

Despite the celebration, there’s concern that Lopez might find Affleck’s party plans upsetting, as it could be seen as a public move on from their relationship.

Affleck has leaned on friends like Matt Damon and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner during this difficult time. He wants to show his gratitude by hosting the gathering, hoping to reconnect and have some fun after being isolated with Lopez during their marriage.

Currently, Affleck and Lopez are living apart. Their $60 million Beverly Hills home is on the market, with Affleck residing in a rental in Brentwood and Lopez staying at her LA house. Lopez spent her birthday and their second wedding anniversary alone in the Hamptons, while Affleck remained in LA focusing on work. Although they are not planning to get back together, there are no immediate plans to publicly announce their split.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have been close friends for a very long time. They have previously shared bank accounts in addition to screen space.

The pair appeared on a recent episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast” and disclosed they shared one bank account starting in the late 1980s to pay for auditions and launch their acting careers, according to Variety.

In a statement, Damon said, “It was unusual, but we needed the money for auditions,” before he called it “a weird thing in retrospect.”

“We were going to help each other and be there for each other,” Affleck said, adding, “It was like, ‘You’re not going to be alone. I’m not going to be alone. Let’s go out there and do this together.” They furthermore reveals that any time they booked a role, the money from that gig would get deposited into the same bank account.

Damon said that “As long as one of us had money we knew the power wasn’t going to get shut off. After doing [1992’s] ‘Geronimo’ I probably had 35 grand in the bank. I was like ‘we’re good for a year.'”
