Akasa Air Activates Emergency Response Amid Security Alerts on 15 Flights

In response to recent security alerts, including a hoax bomb threat on an Ayodhya-bound flight from Bengaluru, Akasa Air reported that 15 flights received security warnings, triggering an immediate activation of its Emergency Response Team.

An Akasa Air spokesperson stated on Sunday, “The Emergency Response Team was activated immediately, following standard protocols such as informing regulatory authorities and closely monitoring each situation.”

Coordination with Local Authorities

The spokesperson confirmed that captains and crew on all affected flights adhered to emergency protocols and collaborated with local authorities to ensure safety. Airport Services teams coordinated at impacted airports to facilitate safe deplaning, providing refreshments and assistance to passengers as necessary.

Ayodhya Airport Heightens Security

Following the bomb threat call, heightened security measures were implemented at Ayodhya’s Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. The Akasa flight from Bengaluru, carrying 173 passengers, was safely landed, and a comprehensive inspection of the plane, passengers, and luggage was conducted. Airport Director Vinod Kumar reported that no suspicious items were found, confirming the threat as a hoax.

“There was a bomb threat concerning the Akasa flight from Bengaluru, but checks revealed nothing suspicious,” Kumar stated, noting that a similar call was received the previous Wednesday. Akasa Air reassured passengers that their safety remains a top priority.

Ola Company Launches Operations At Ayodhya Airport

Ride-hailing company Ola Mobility has launched operations at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, complete with a designated cab pick-up area at arrival and departure points.

Additionally, Ola has stationed a specialized team of representatives available around the clock to oversee operations at the airport and promptly address customer inquiries.

Hemant Bakshi, CEO of Ola Mobility, expressed enthusiasm about Ayodhya’s rapid growth as a cultural and tourist destination in India. He stated, “Ayodhya is emerging as one of the fastest-growing cultural and tourist hubs in India. Ola is excited to expand its services and provide dedicated mobility solutions in the city.”

Zooom Airlines resumes services with Delhi-Ayodhya flight

After a hiatus in 2020, Zooom Airlines resumed its operations with an inaugural flight connecting Delhi to Ayodhya, according to the domestic airline. Atul Gambir, the Director and CEO of the airline, stated that the flight connecting the temple town of Uttar Pradesh with the national capital would operate three days a week in the initial month.

“Delhi-Ayodhya flight to operate three days a week–Monday, Wednesday, and Friday– for the first month then it will operate five days a week,” said Gambhir. He added, “We currently have only one flight operating on this route. With this, devotees (coming to Ayodhya) can also return on the same day. Vegetarian food is also being provided in this 50-seater flight.”

The Gurugram-based airline, which commenced flights in 2017 with a CRJ aircraft, had ceased operations in 2020. In September last year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) renewed the flying permit of Zexus Air Services, which was operating as Zoom Airlines. Now, Zexus is operating as Zooom.

The Ayodhya administration is working on installing the world’s longest solar light line in preparation for the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple. The ambitious project has already seen the successful completion of the stretch from Guptar Ghat to Jhunki Ghat, with plans underway to extend the installation to Nayaghat.

The initiative aims to connect several previously segmented ghats seamlessly, with the administration working tirelessly to create a stunning visual spectacle from Guptar Ghat to Jhunki Ghat. 100 chartered planes to land in Ayodhya on January 22: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that approximately 100 chartered planes are scheduled to land in Ayodhya on January 22 for the ‘Pran Pratishtha Day’ ceremony. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing Uttar Pradesh with its fourth international airport, inaugurating the Ayodhya Airport on December 30, 2023. Adityanath added, “I am grateful to PM Narendra Modi for giving the fourth international airport to Uttar Pradesh. The Ayodhya airport was inaugurated on December 30th.”

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi, at a public event, highlighted the significance of Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana as a path of knowledge connecting people to Shri Ram. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister VK Singh, and other senior officials launched the first tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya. Chief Minister Adityanath was the recipient of the first tri-weekly flight’s boarding pass.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia mentioned, “PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Ayodhya Airport and Railway Station on December 30.” He further added, “We started the first flight between Ayodhya and Delhi on December 30th, operated by IndiGo and Air India Express. Security responsibilities for Maharishi Valmiki International Airport were handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). To ensure comprehensive safety and traffic management, the Uttar Pradesh government implemented measures such as the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS), integrating 1500 public CCTV cameras across the city. Ayodhya’s yellow zone will feature 10,715 AI-based cameras with face recognition technology, integrated with ITMS for enhanced monitoring and security.

Emergency response capabilities have been reinforced with the deployment of teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). SDRF teams will conduct regular boat patrols with a focus on safety measures, and an arrangement of four cruise boats by January 20 will enhance water surveillance during the celebrations.

Ayodhya Railway Station will experience heightened security by the Railway Protection Force from January 27 to February 15. Fire brigade provisions in all tent cities, citywide police patrols, and stringent verification procedures for external individuals are part of the overall security plan. All the solar-powered street lights are LED-based, operating at 4.4 watts, and equipped with smart technology, promising an illuminated and energy-efficient environment.

The world record the state government aims to surpass is currently held by Malham, Saudi Arabia, where 468 solar-powered lights were installed over 9.7 km in 2021. Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi government is determined to break this record by installing 470 solar-powered lights across a 10.2 km expanse in Ayodhya.

“This is a historic day. An aerodrome has now been opened at Ram-ji’s birthplace. We are a large group from the Jain community going on the inaugural flight to meet Ram Lalla. The Ayodhya Airport was completed in a record time of 20 months, as confirmed by the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Sanjeev Kumar. “The airport has been built in Ayodhya, and AAI has completed it in a record time of 20 months,” stated Chairman Sanjeev Kumar during an interview with ANI in Ayodhya. He highlighted the positive impact on connectivity and the excitement within the Airport Authority about this expansion.

Designed to cater to the influx of pilgrims visiting the Ram Mandir and other nearby religious sites such as Ram ki Paidi, Hanuman Garhi, Nageshwar Nath Temple, and Birla Temple, the airport is expected to boost pilgrimage tourism and facilitate business activities throughout the year.

The initial phase of the Ayodhya Airport features a runway with a length of 2200 meters, suitable for A-321-type aircraft operations. The second phase involves the development of a new terminal building spanning 50,000 square meters, capable of serving 4000 passengers during peak hours and accommodating 60 lakh passengers annually.

Constructed for Rs 350 crore, the Ayodhya Airport includes a terminal building, an ATC tower, a fire station, car parking, and other city-side infrastructure. Ayodhya Gears Up for Grand Welcome to PM Modi During Ramotsav 2024

In anticipation of the upcoming Ramotsav 2024, Ayodhya is preparing a spectacular welcome for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Cultural Department, following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, is orchestrating a series of cultural events to honour PM Modi.

Over 1,400 local artists are set to perform on approximately 40 stages along the route from the airport through Dharma Path and Ram Path to the railway station. At the airport meeting venue, 30 local artists will showcase their talents, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the Prime Minister’s arrival. The cultural presentations aim to not only highlight the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh but also captivate PM Modi and the audience.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed an unprecedented welcome for PM Modi in Ayodhya, and the Culture Department has made robust preparations accordingly. A total of 40 stages will be set up along PM Modi’s roadshow, featuring performances by local artists.

A significant stage will be erected at Gate Number 3 of the airport, and five additional stages will be placed between the Airport and Saket Petrol Pump. Construction of Ayodhya Airport almost complete, people may start travelling from November

According to an official statement, the state and federal governments of Uttar Pradesh are working together to revitalize Shri Ram’s city at a rapid pace. In addition to the Central Government, the Yogi Government is working to give devotees a variety of amenities in the upcoming days. District Magistrate Nitish Kumar has stated that Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport construction will be completed in three stages. The project’s 821 acres of total land acquisition have all been fully acquired for this.

Additionally, phase one of the airport’s runway construction has been entirely finished. Additionally, all of the work on the CAT-1 and RESA facilities for landing at night and in fog and mist has been finished. The ATC tower’s construction is also entirely finished. The District Magistrate claims that the airport’s operational barriers have been removed. Before the Airport Authority of India’s aircraft began using the airport, various Instrument Landing System (ILS) components, including the localizer, glide path, marker, D.M.E., and others, were calibrated.

The District Magistrate has inspected the under-construction terminal building and under-construction apron etc. During the inspection, Airport Authority officials informed that more than 78 per cent of the work of the terminal building has been completed and the remaining work is being done at a fast pace in two shifts daily.
Along with this, he said that 100 per cent work of the parking facility for four aircraft on one apron is complete and the work of the parking facility for four aircraft on the other apron is being carried out rapidly.
