</excerpt>

Model and actor Muzammil Ibrahim has revealed that he was originally considered for a role in Ayan Mukerji’s hit film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013). In an interview, Muzammil claimed that director Ayan Mukerji wrote the film with him in mind and had even discussed casting decisions with him early on.

Muzammil Ibrahim On Ayan Mukerji

“Ayan liked me a lot. He told me that he was writing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani keeping me in mind,” Muzammil said. He added that it was Kiran Rao who introduced him to Ayan after noticing his performance in his debut film Dhokha.

According to Muzammil Ibrahim, he was considered for the role that eventually went to Aditya Roy Kapur.

When asked if his past relationship with Deepika Padukone had any influence, Muzammil clarified, “This had nothing to do with Deepika.” He even supported her casting: “Deepika was the right cast for that film and I told him the same thing.”

Muzammil On The Casting Process

He went on to say that things went south after casting agents entered the process. “Ayan told me that he will give me the script to read… The casting agents really messed things up. They have their own agendas. As long as it was just me and Ayan, things were great.”

He explained that miscommunication and possible favouritism by casting agents caused confusion. “There was a misunderstanding between me and Ayan… They did a lot of favouritism.”

Muzammil admitted he hesitated to clarify things directly with Ayan. “Maybe I should have said something. I felt Ranbir and Ayan were very good friends… I was thinking, is my role too tiny?”

He also compared his debut performance to Ranbir Kapoor’s in Saawariya. “I believe my performance in Dhokha was better than Ranbir’s in Saawariya,” he said. Muzammil feels that he has been ignored by the industry and overlooked at times, all because he is an outsider.

This sentiment of his has struck a chord with people who are struggling in the industry even today. Muzammil’s story just shows another dark side of the film industry, which, from afar, seems all happy and glamorous.

Ayan Mukerji, known for his work on Brahmastra, could be stepping into the director’s chair for Dhoom 4, according to recent reports. Mukerji is currently collaborating with Yash Raj Films on War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. Despite being engrossed in this project, Mukerji has reportedly had preliminary discussions with Aditya Chopra about the possibility of directing the next installment of the popular Dhoom franchise.

Aditya Chopra’s Vision

A source close to the development revealed to Bollywood Hungama that Chopra is thrilled with the footage from War 2 and has informally broached the subject of Dhoom 4 with Mukerji. “Aditya Chopra is very happy with the footage shot for War 2 and has verbally discussed his intent of making Dhoom 4 with Ayan Mukerji,” the insider stated. Mukerji, while enthusiastic about the opportunity, has requested time to finish his current commitments, including discussions about the future of Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Jio Studios.

The source further highlighted Chopra’s dedication to the Dhoom franchise, noting that Dhoom 4 would be his most ambitious project to date. “Aditya Chopra knows the power of the Dhoom franchise and has kept it closest to his heart,” the insider added. Chopra is focused on assembling the best talent to ensure Dhoom 4 lives up to its legacy.

About the Cast

While the latest reports do not confirm any details about the cast, there has been speculation about potential actors for the villain role. Previous films in the franchise featured notable actors in antagonistic roles, including John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan. Recently, rumors suggested that Shah Rukh Khan might be considered for the villain role in Dhoom 4, though these remain speculative.

As discussions continue, fans eagerly await official announcements regarding the cast and the project’s development.

The 70th National Film Awards, held in New Delhi, spotlighted the best of Indian cinema from 2022. Rishab Shetty clinched the Best Actor award for his performance in Kantara, while the Malayalam film Aattam took home the Best Film award. The Best Actress accolade was shared by Nithya Menen and Mansi Parekh.

Cash Awards Add Value To Top Honors

Apart from the prestigious titles, the National Film Awards come with significant cash prizes. The highest honor, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, includes a prize of Rs 15 lakh. The Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) award carries a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh, while the Rajat Kamal winners receive Rs 2 lakh each.

Swarna Kamal Recipients

The Swarna Kamal award, which recognizes Best Film, Debut Film, Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Director, and Best Children’s Film, was awarded to several notable winners this year. Aattam‘s producer Joy Movie Productions and director Anand Ekarshi received the Swarna Kamal for Best Film, while Fouja, directed by Pramod Kumar, won Best Debut Film of a Director. Kantara, recognized for providing wholesome entertainment, earned the Swarna Kamal for both its producer, Hombale Films LLP, and director, Rishab Shetty.

Rajat Kamal Awardees

The Rajat Kamal, awarded for Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values, as well as acting categories, screenplay, and music, was distributed among several winners. Rishab Shetty, Nithya Menen, Mansi Parekh, Pavan Raj Malhotra, Neena Gupta, and Arijit Singh, among others, received the Rajat Kamal for their exceptional contributions.

Oscars vs. National Film Awards

Unlike the Oscars, which do not provide monetary awards but offer luxurious goodie bags to hosts and nominees worth over $170,000, the National Film Awards provide direct financial rewards. Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ has transcended across borders of nations, cultures and ethnicities to become a festival encasing a lot of diversity in its meaning, significance and celebratory traditions.
Some of these traditions are quite interesting, as they reflect the ethos of the particular area they belong to. The joyous vibe around this time makes for a great occasion to catch up with friends and family.

</excerpt>

Ranbir Kapoor recently provided a huge update regarding the upcoming sci-fi action flick ‘Brahmastra 2′ during a fan event.
He said “Brahmastra 2” is “heavy into writing” in a footage that was posted on Reddit from the fans’ gathering.

Ranbir said, “Brahmastra Part 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time. It’s just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me and he has gone 10 times bigger than Part 1 – his idea, his thought, the character. He is working on War 2 right now. So the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year or the beginning of 2025.”

He added, “But definitely a lot of work has already been happening on the film. We understood the kind of criticism for the film, what worked for it and what didn’t. So we have put everything into consideration, the dialogue and comments on Shiva and Isha’s missing chemistry. A lot of criticism was constructive and we have taken that into our stride and we are trying to understand that and go beyond that.”

‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ is the first part of the planned trilogy in the Astraverse by Ayan Mukerji. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.Shah Rukh Khan had a cameo in the first part. If reports are to be believed, the second part will feature Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. It will be interesting to see how the Astraverse develops in the sequel to ‘Brahmastra’ and beyond.

‘Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev’ will hit the theatres in December 2026, whereas ‘Part Three’ will be released in the theatres exactly a year after the second part, in December 2027.

Stay tuned for more such stories.

</excerpt>

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the most celebrated films in Bollywood. Today, the film completed 10 years of its release, and on this special occasion, Ayan Mukerji has shared a special post on his official Instagram handle.

The filmmaker shared a video featuring memorable moments from the film. His post read: “YJHD – My second child, a piece of my heart and soul – 10 years old today! I think after all these years, I can confidently say that… Making this movie was one of the greatest joys of my life! And what we achieved with it – with all its perfections and imperfections – is a source of great eternal pride for me! Strangely, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani fully from beginning to end, since the day it released …(Always pushing towards the next milestone, and not looking back enough…!) But when I’m older and wiser – I think I will watch the movie atleast once a year – because a big part of who I was and how I looked at life – is forever captured in this movie!”

Further, he added, “In the recent months, I have often had people recognise me and come up to me… and I’m thinking they will say something about Brahmastra, and then they started talking about YJHD ! So, putting out a whole lot of gratitude for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani… and all the many people who connected deeply with the movie over the years ! Also sharing a Director’s Note I had written at the time, in my story which someone special from my team shared with me a few days ago… and it brought back all kinds of memories for me ! Yup :).”

‘Brahmastra’ two and three are going to be made together. This is something I hadn’t figured out when we released part one. The truth is we are going to take a little bit of time to write it. I know there’s a lot of anticipation. People want the film to come out (soon). But first, we have to write it without compromising it.

Speaking at the Rising India Summit, the filmmaker says that while the release of Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev might take a while, he reveals that he will simultaneously be shooting for the second and the third parts of the film. He adds: “We will make Brahmastra 2 and 3 together. The truth is we are going to take a little bit of time to write it. I know there’s a lot of anticipation.” The filmmaker also shares that he would want to give it all and leave no stone unturned to make it a story to remember.

After a clear peek at Deepika Padukone in the film’s OTT version, all the rumours regarding who will play Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Amrita in Ayan Mukerji’s “Brahmastra Part 2: Dev” were put to rest.

Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, which debuted on September 9 and began streaming on November 4, was released on September 9. Some theatregoers who saw Barhmastra Part I claimed to have seen Deepika in the picture. Others who watched it in 2D claimed that the actress was completely invisible.

But the OTT version put any confusion to rest. In one of the sequences, Deepika can be seen holding the infant Shiva in her arms. Just after intermission is when this scene appears.

Fans confirmed it is Deepika after watching the movie on Hotstar, and they swamped social media with their remarks.

Here is Deepika Padukone’s glimpse from Bhramastra part one – Shiva, according to one of the users.

Another tweet read, “Today, I watched Brahmastra for the second time. I hadn’t noticed Deepika Padukone before. But this time, it was so evident that she was there in the film! She has to be there in the second part too!”

“Deepika padukone in and as amritha in brahmastra eagerly waiting for dev part 2,” wrote another user.

The first work of Ayan Mukerji’s intended trilogy set in the Astraverse is titled Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni also appear in the movie. The plot of Brahmastra centres on Shiva, a DJ who discovers his peculiar connection to the element of fire. Additionally, he has the ability to unleash the Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon thought to be capable of wiping out the universe, all of creation, and every living thing. In contrast, Junoon, the ruler of evil forces, is likewise attempting to obtain the Brahmastra.

In the first part, Shah Rukh Khan appeared in a cameo. Ranveer Singh will appear in the sequel, if reports are to be believed.

Brahmastra has been a great hit on the box office and people have loved the movie. Ayan Mukerji recently spoke about Shahrukh Khan’s cameo in the movie which has been the highlights of the fantasy-drama. The actor is seen as Mohan Bhargav, a scientist who wields Vanarastra. While discussing Shah Rukh’s cameo, Ayan compared his scenes in the film to Iron Man.Ayan Mukerji was quoted as saying in a recent report, “If you actually look closely, you will see the tonality of that scene is a little bit Iron Man-like. We always thought Vanarastra will always exist in the world of science, which is why we have shown him to be a scientist.”The filmmaker added, “The tonality of that scene, because it is a bit of an item sequence at the beginning of part one, is different from the tonality of the rest of the film. Brahmastra has a romance between Shiva and Isha, it has some sincerity in its tonality. But Shah Rukh Khan is kind of a hero, cracking jokes. So, I knew that that tonality is different, even when we were shooting it, we were like this is very exciting. We were also having fun while shooting that part as it was very playful.”Recently, Ayan had shared that not only Shah Rukh’s fans, but the makers have also been thinking about a spin-off for his character in Brahmastra. Ayan teased that the spin-off might tell the origin story of the scientist. Ayan had told in an interview, “Before the fans were saying it, we were also saying that ourselves. When we were shooting the sequence in 2019, we were also saying on sets. As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, ‘Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origin story of the scientist!'”The sci-fi drama was launched on 9 September in the cinemas and has been performing well.
