Check Out BJP’s Top Choices

<excerpt>The BJP is set to announce Delhi’s new chief minister after a historic win. A woman candidate is likely, with names like Rekha Gupta, Shikha Roy, and Smriti Irani in contention.
</excerpt>

After securing a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is abuzz with speculation over who will be the next chief minister. With 48 out of 70 seats, the party has ended its 26-year-long wait to reclaim power in the capital, reducing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to just 22 seats.

A Woman CM on the Cards?

Reports suggest that the BJP may opt for a woman leader this time, picking from its newly elected MLAs. Additionally, there is a possibility of appointing a deputy chief minister from a socially representative background, ensuring inclusive leadership. The new cabinet is also expected to include a diverse mix of women and Dalit leaders.

Probable Women Contenders

Several strong women leaders are being considered for the top post:

Rekha Gupta (Shalimar Bagh MLA): The national vice president of the BJP’s women’s wing, Gupta secured a convincing victory with a margin of 29,595 votes.

Shikha Roy (Greater Kailash MLA): Defeated AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj in a crucial contest, making her a strong candidate.

Poonam Sharma (Wazirpur MLA): Won her seat by 11,425 votes, adding to her credibility.

Neelam Pehalwan (Najafgarh MLA): Secured an impressive victory with 1,01,708 votes.

Smriti Irani: The former Union minister, despite her loss in Amethi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, remains a formidable political figure.

Bansuri Swaraj: Daughter of late Sushma Swaraj, recently won from the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat and is considered a rising star in BJP politics.

If a woman is appointed, she would join the ranks of Delhi’s few female chief ministers, including Sushma Swaraj (BJP), Sheila Dikshit (Congress), and Atishi (AAP).

When Will the Decision Be Made?

Sources indicate that the swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his US visit. The BJP is planning a grand event to mark its return to power, with chief ministers from all NDA-ruled states expected to attend.

Other Potential CM Candidates

Apart from women leaders, several other prominent BJP members are reportedly under consideration:

Vijender Gupta (Rohini MLA)

Ajay Mahawar (Ghonda MLA)

Abhay Verma (Laxmi Nagar MLA)

Kapil Mishra: Former AAP minister who switched to BJP, now being seen as a strong contender.

Parvesh Verma: Gained national attention by defeating Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva emphasized that the final decision will rest with the party’s top leadership. Given Delhi’s unique governance challenges and its proximity to BJP-ruled Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the next chief minister will need to focus on key issues such as infrastructure, transport, and water supply.

With all eyes on the BJP’s final decision, Delhi awaits its new leader.

</excerpt>

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election schedule for Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Tuesday. Maharashtra will hold its assembly election in a single phase on November 20, 2024, while Jharkhand will conduct its election in two phases on November 13 and November 20, 2024.

Additionally, bypolls for 48 assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats will take place in two phases alongside the assembly elections in these states. The results for both states are set to be declared on November 23. The term of the Maharashtra assembly ends on November 26, 2024, and the term for the Jharkhand assembly expires on January 5, 2025.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar shared that Jharkhand has 2.60 crore eligible voters, with 1.31 crore male voters and 1.29 crore female voters. Among them, 11.84 lakh are first-time voters, and 66.84 lakh are young voters. Maharashtra has a total of 9.63 crore voters, comprising 4.97 crore males and 4.66 crore females, with 1.85 crore young voters, including 20.93 lakh first-time voters. The Gazette notification for the two phases in Jharkhand will be issued on October 18 and 22, respectively, with the last dates for filing nominations being October 25 and 29. Scrutiny of nominations will occur on October 28 and 30, with the withdrawal deadlines being October 30 and November 1. In Maharashtra, the Gazette notification will be issued on October 22, nominations are due by October 29, and the scrutiny will take place on October 30. The final date for withdrawal of candidacies is November 4. Senior citizens over 85 years old can vote from home.

The Maharashtra elections will be a significant contest between two major alliances: the ruling Mahayuti (comprising BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP) and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (including Congress, Shiv Sena UBT, and NCP-SP). In Jharkhand, the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance will face the BJP-led NDA, which nearly swept the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Bypolls for 47 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat will take place on November 13, alongside Jharkhand’s first phase of elections. The remaining assembly bypoll for Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, along with the Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra, will occur on November 20, coinciding with Maharashtra’s elections. The bypoll for Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, vacated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who chose to retain Rae Bareli after winning both seats in the 2024 general elections, will be held on November 13.

</excerpt>

Hours after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a resounding victory in the Haryana elections, PM Modi took aim at the Congress, branding it a “parasitic party” that undermines its allies. Defying exit poll predictions, which had leaned toward a Congress victory, the BJP comfortably crossed the halfway mark in Haryana’s 90-seat assembly, winning 48 seats. Meanwhile, Congress was limited to just 37 seats.

PM Modi’s Address: Sharp Criticism for Congress

Addressing BJP workers at the party’s headquarters, PM Modi lashed out at the Congress, accusing it of attempting to tarnish national institutions. His remarks appeared to be in response to Congress’s complaint to the Election Commission, where they questioned the slow progress of vote counting.

“Congress is a parasitic party that swallows its allies. They want to build a nation where people hate their heritage and question every institution that this country takes pride in,” Modi said. He further alleged that Congress consistently aims to “tarnish” the image of national institutions like the Election Commission, police, and judiciary.

Congress Left Stunned by Defeat

The Congress, visibly shaken by the outcome, called the Haryana election results “totally unexpected” and “completely surprising.” They argued that the result was counter-intuitive and did not align with ground realities. Despite their protests, the party has stated it will not accept the election results, casting doubts on the fairness of the process.

Jammu and Kashmir: BJP Rises to Second Largest Party

In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP also made significant gains, emerging as the second-largest party by winning 29 seats. PM Modi highlighted that Congress’s poor performance continues to hurt its allies, referencing their weakening position in both the recent Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

“Congress’s allies have repeatedly suffered because of their association with the party, and today’s results have once again confirmed it,” he said, recalling how half of Congress’s Lok Sabha seats were won with the support of their allies.

Congress’s Allegations and PM Modi’s Response

PM Modi also responded to Congress’s allegations against the Election Commission, recalling how the party and its “urban Naxalite” allies had approached the Supreme Court before the Lok Sabha results, attempting to discredit the Election Commission’s impartiality. He accused Congress of misleading the public and habitually questioning the credibility of institutions.

“Congress has always sought to mislead the nation and cast doubts on the impartiality of our institutions. This has been their habit, and they continue to shamelessly do so,” Modi remarked.

Election Commission’s Response

The Election Commission responded strongly to Congress’s complaints, calling them “irresponsible” and “unfounded.” The poll panel criticized Congress for giving credence to “malafide narratives” that sought to undermine the democratic process.

In the aftermath of this decisive win, the BJP’s success has further cemented its position, while the Congress is left to reevaluate its strategies amidst the growing criticism.

</excerpt>

Haryana is all set to vote on Saturday in fiercely contested Assembly election, with polling set to take place across 20,632 booths. More than 2 crore voters will decide the future of the state. The ruling BJP aims for a third consecutive term, while the Congress seeks to reclaim power after a decade in opposition. The stakes are high, with both national and regional parties vying for control of the state’s political landscape. The single-phase polling, which will determine the composition of the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly of 90 seats, has seen intense campaigning from the BJP, Congress, and key regional players such as the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).

The BJP, which won 40 seats in the 2019 elections and formed a coalition government with the JJP, is hoping to secure a majority this time around. However, the BJP-JJP alliance has since collapsed, leaving both parties to contest separately in this election. According to Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal, the state has 2.03 crore registered voters, including 1.07 crore men, 95.77 lakh women, and 467 individuals from the third gender. Among the electorate, 5.24 lakh are first-time voters aged 18-19, while 2.31 lakh voters are above the age of 85. Additionally, 1.49 lakh voters have disabilities. Polling will begin at 7 AM and conclude at 6 PM. A total of 1,031 candidates, including 101 women, are in the fray for 90 Assembly seats. Of these, 464 candidates are contesting as Independents.
The results of the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared on October 8, alongside those of Jammu and Kashmir, making this one of the most closely watched electoral battles in recent times.

As the campaign season wrapped up on Thursday, the BJP sought to highlight its governance track record, while the Congress hammered the ruling party over unemployment, economic mismanagement, and alleged crony capitalism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a last-minute push to voters, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Congress’s stance on reservations and its handling of caste-related issues. He accused Congress leaders of being out of touch with Haryana’s needs, adding, “Haryana’s backward and Dalit communities are angry with Congress for its failure to prevent caste-based violence. The people of Haryana are ready to punish Congress once again. From every corner of the state, the message is clear—trust from the heart, BJP again.”

In a contrasting message, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to hold the BJP accountable for high unemployment rates in the state. He promised that a Congress government would provide 2 lakh permanent jobs and work towards making Haryana drug-free. Addressing voters on X, Gandhi wrote, “The unemployment crisis created by the BJP has jeopardized the future of Haryana’s youth. Under BJP rule, the backbone of employment-generating systems in the state has been broken. Congress will restore jobs, protect the youth, and ensure that every family prospers.” While the BJP and Congress dominate the headlines, regional parties such as the INLD, JJP, and their respective allies—Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Azad Samaj Party (ASP)—are also expected to play crucial roles in the election outcome. With fractured political alliances, the possibility of a hung assembly looms, making these regional outfits potential kingmakers.

On Friday, party candidates and workers were seen making last-minute efforts to solidify support. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula, performing a ‘havan yagya’ for the party’s success. Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Leader of Opposition, was in Rohtak meeting party workers, while BJP stalwart and former Home Minister Anil Vij was in Ambala meeting BJP functionaries. With the BJP banking on its governance track record and Congress appealing to marginalized communities and unemployed youth, the results are expected to have significant national ramifications, particularly as both parties prepare for the upcoming general elections in 2025. All the parties have offered freebies ranging from monthly financial assistance to women voters, procurement of crops on MSP, cheaper LGP cylinders and electricity and over two lakh government jobs.

</excerpt>

In a significant political development, National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced that he will contest the upcoming Assembly elections from the Ganderbal constituency. This marks a notable shift in Abdullah’s stance, as he had previously pledged not to participate in any elections until Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood was restored.

Omar Abdullah’s decision comes on the heels of his defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections in the Baramulla district, where he lost to the imprisoned candidate Engineer Rashid. The decision to return to the Ganderbal seat holds symbolic importance, as the constituency has long been a stronghold for the Abdullah family. Historically, it has elected three generations of Abdullahs: NC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in 1977, his son Farooq Abdullah in 1983, 1987, and 1996, and Omar Abdullah in 2008.

On August 16, NC President Farooq Abdullah had announced that he would lead the party in the assembly elections, which are scheduled in three phases starting from September 18. The party released a list of 32 candidates on Tuesday, which included Omar Abdullah’s name for the Ganderbal seat, a constituency he represented during his tenure as the Chief Minister from 2009 to 2014.

The decision marks a reversal from Omar Abdullah’s earlier stance. Addressing the media on Monday, he acknowledged his dilemma regarding the Assembly elections, stating that his earlier decision not to contest could send a “wrong signal” to voters and party members.

“I am conscious of one thing which I had not thought over fully, which is my mistake. If I was not ready to contest an election for an assembly, how can I get the people ready to vote for that assembly?” Abdullah said. He further added, “How can I hope that my colleagues will seek votes for an assembly which I am not ready to accept or may be suggesting that I look down upon? It has put pressure on me, and I do not want to give a wrong signal to the people.”

This announcement is likely to reinvigorate NC’s campaign, especially in Ganderbal, where the party’s legacy runs deep.

In related developments, the National Conference (NC) and Congress have reached a seat-sharing agreement for the elections. The two parties will engage in a “friendly contest” in five constituencies and have left one seat each for the CPI(M) and Panthers Party.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 15 candidates, representing both the Jammu and Kashmir regions. The party is focusing on providing representation to various communities and castes.

Speaking on the political landscape in Jammu & Kashmir, Er. Khatana highlighted the decision of Jamat-e-Islami to contest the assembly elections as a direct challenge to dynastic politics. “Jamat-e-Islami is contesting the assembly polls because they have seen a ray of hope under Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s leadership in the country,” he remarked. Er. Khatana praised the Prime Minister for creating an inclusive environment that offers opportunities to all citizens to contribute to nation-building. “Those who believe in Indian democracy and the policies of Shri Narendra Modi will not be disappointed,” he added, expressing confidence in the Prime Minister’s vision for the country.

Er. Khatana also addressed recent political developments in Jammu & Kashmir, specifically criticizing the alliance between former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He characterized their coalition as an attempt to undermine the progress and stability that have been achieved in the region. “Yesterday, Mehbooba Mufti offered an alliance to the National Conference and Congress, and today Omar Abdullah accepted it. This alliance is nothing but a conspiracy to destabilize the peace and progress of Jammu & Kashmir,” he asserted.

Er. Khatana expressed deep concern over the potential repercussions of this political maneuver, warning that it could disrupt the fragile peace in the region. “This alliance threatens to unravel the normalcy, peace, and progress that Narendra Modi has achieved in Kashmir,” he stated, highlighting the risks associated with this coalition.

Reflecting on recent interactions between political figures, Er. Khatana mentioned a meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah in Kashmir, using it to underscore his criticism of traditional political elites. He suggested that such meetings signal a disregard for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. “I feel proud to be a soldier of BJP, a party that ends the fear of being killed in Kashmir. Now, you can have dining anywhere in Kashmir because Kashmiris want peace and progress,” he said, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to enhancing the region’s security and stability.

Er. Khatana further criticized the erstwhile political leadership, accusing them of exploiting the people of Kashmir for personal gain. “The dynasts have sacrificed the people in Kashmir for the sake of their chairs,” he lamented, contrasting this with the BJP’s approach, which he described as transformative and people-centric.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance, Er. Khatana pointed to the significant strides made in Kashmir under his leadership. “Modi Ji has changed the definition of governance. There is no civilian killings and strike calendar in Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji provides opportunities for Kashmiri youth to decide their own future,” he noted. Er. Khatana credited Prime Minister Modi’s policies with fostering an environment conducive to growth and development, allowing the youth to actively participate in shaping their destinies.

In stark contrast, Er. Khatana accused Abdullah, Gandhi, and Mufti of manipulative tactics. “Unfortunately, for decades, Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti used the Kashmiri people as human shields to save their chairs,” he charged, suggesting that their actions have been detrimental to the region’s well-being.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP continues to position itself as a champion of change, advocating for policies that prioritize development, security, and the empowerment of all citizens, including those in Jammu and Kashmir.

</excerpt>

The assembly elections in Karnataka may be over, but a series of other state polls this year will keep the political pot boiling till the 2024 Lok Sabha battle.
At least three assembly election could also take place alongside the Lok Sabha polls.
After Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram would go for polls this year.
The northeastern states of Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya were the first to have assembly polls in 2023.
The last part of 2023 would witness a series of assembly polls with terms of legislative assemblies of Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana ending on different dates in December this year and January 2024.
While the term of the 40-member Mizoram assembly ends on December 17, the tenures of the Chhattisgarh and the Madhya Pradesh legislative assemblies conclude on January 3 and January 6, 2024, respectively.
The tenures of the Rajasthan and Telangana assemblies end on January 14 and January 16, 2024, respectively.
Polls in these five states being held together cannot be ruled out at this stage.
Besides the scheduled polls, assembly elections in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir can also not be ruled out this year.
Sources had earlier said that elections in Jammu and Kashmir may be held in the summer of 2023 after winter conditions subside, and the timing would depend on the security scenario.
After the conclusion of the 62-day long Amarnath Yatra from July 1 to August 31, a possible window sometime in October this year could be available for polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
The terms of the legislative assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha are ending on different dates in June next year.
Since Lok Sabha polls are usually held in April-May, there is a likelihood that assembly elections in the three states could be held simultaneously with the parliamentary exercise.

</excerpt>

The counting of votes in the Meghalaya Assembly elections will be held on Thursday amid tight security arrangements.

“All necessary arrangements have been made with respect to tomorrow. We have 13 counting centres across the state, 12 in all district headquarters, and one in Sohra Sub Division. 22 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies have been retained for purposes of ensuring 24×7 safeguard protocols in respect of the strong rooms containing the polled Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) of 3,419 polling stations in the 59 poll-going Assembly constituencies and will stay on till April 4 for any post-poll contingencies or emergencies,” said Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor.

The Meghalaya CEO said there will be three-tiered security arrangements, with CAPF guarding the innermost layer and state-armed police keeping vigil over the second and third layers.

The counting centres are all placed under CCTV and webcast surveillance during the entire period. There will be a total of 383 rounds of counting, with a maximum of nine rounds for the biggest assembly constituency, Mawlai in East Khasi Hills District, and four rounds for smaller ACs like Dalu in West Garo Hills District, according to the CEO.

According to the Election Commission, the counting in all 13 centres will commence at 8 a.m. on Thursday. The counting will initially begin with a postal ballot count for the first 30 minutes, followed by the counting of polled votes in the EVM Control Units. The CEO, accompanied by the District Electoral Officer (DEO) and Superintendent of Police, has already personally inspected the counting arrangements at the East Khasi Hills Counting Centre at Polo Grounds, Shillong, which has the state’s maximum number of 14 counting halls, one for each assembly constituency.

The West Garo Hills District Counting Centre caters to 11 assembly constituencies and is the second-largest counting centre in the state. The Election Commission has deployed 27 counting observers, and over 500 micro observers will also assist the counting observers at each table. Each table will have a counting observer assisted by four counting assistants.

In seven polling stations, there were cases of non-deletion of mock poll data. These include a polling station in East Jaintia Hills, Khliehriat AC, one in West Khasi Hills, Rambhai AC, two in East Garo hills, Songsak AC, two in South West Garo Hills, Salmanpara ACs and one in Mylliem AC. In the above polling stations, DEOs and ROs (returning officers) have been directed to strictly follow Election Commission protocols on counting.

Also, post-counting of EVMs, five polling stations will be selected at random through a draw of lots, and manual counting of five randomly selected EVMs will be undertaken as per ECI protocols. Additionally, concerned DEOs have issued necessary orders pertaining to traffic arrangements and victory processions post-counting in respect of their respective districts.

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Meghalaya assembly polls, Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) chief Conrad Sangma met Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Tuesday night. Notably, Sarma is the convenor of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA). As per the report, it has been said that both Chief Ministers took part in a crucial meeting in a hotel in Guwahati, and the meeting lasted for half an hour. Following the meeting, the Meghalaya Chief Minister returned to Tura in the West Garo Hills.

Earlier on Tuesday, Meghalaya’s CM hinted at forming a post-poll alliance to form the government. The exit polls published by various media groups predicted that the northeastern state would have a hung house, with Sangma’s NPP emerging as the single-largest party. Following this, Conrad Sangma said that he would keep all options open to form a stable government.

“We will keep all our options open to form a stable government. We are happy to see the trend is in line as we expected to get more seats than we received last time,” said Sangma. Meghalaya recorded a voting percentage of over 76 percent on Monday. Polling was held at 3,419 polling stations across 59 Assembly constituencies in the state.

Of the 60 Assembly constituencies in Meghalaya, 36 fall in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills regions, while 24 are in the Garo Hills region. However, polling for the Sohiong Assembly constituency was postponed following the demise of the state’s former Home Minister and United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from the seat, HDR Lyngdoh.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Gujarat on Friday conducted raids at as many as 150 locations in different parts of the state, sources informed. As a part of the joint operation with Gujarat GST, the raids were conducted in districts like Surat, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Bharuch, and Bhavnagar over tax evasion and money trail on international routes.

Recently, the Gujarat ATS uncovered a bogus international racket and apprehended four people from the new Naroda area of Ahmedabad for issuing fake passports and visas to Canada aspirants. The raid is conducted just when the state is gearing up for upcoming assembly elections which are scheduled to be held in two phases on–December 1 and December 5.

On the other hand, voting for Himachal assembly elections is underway and will take place till 5 pm.

In the first round, 89 of the total 182 Assembly seats will go to polls and prominent political parties have declared their candidates for almost all these constituencies. Out of the 182 seats, 89 will go for the polls in the first phase and 93 in the second.

Over 4.9 crore electors are eligible to vote in the polls. More than 51,000 polling stations will be set up, including more than 34,000 in rural areas. The term of the Gujarat Assembly ends on February 18, 2023.

It’s been two decades since the Bhartiya Janta Party has been in the power. Not to mention which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader, chaired a meeting on Thursday with party leaders in the state’s capital ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections.

The meeting was attended by the Union Minister, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and other important party officials. Amit Shah returned to his home state in an effort to win the upcoming state elections after previously being in Himachal Pradesh, another state where elections will be held this year.

Shah inaugurated the “Gujarat Gaurav Yatra” in Ahmedabad on October 13, during the campaigning of the BJP ahead of the upcoming Gujarat Assembly Polls.

A day prior to the inauguration of the “Gujarat Gaurav Yatra,” JP Nadda flagged off the yatra in Mehsana. The event was attended by CM Bhupendra Patel and other BJP leaders.

While addressing the rally during the event, Nadda said, “BJP is a pro-active, responsible, and responsive government.” He said the BJP government understands the plight of the people. What did Congress do for years? pitted brothers against each other, areas against each other, and did not supply water where it was needed. Jo vikas ki yatra chalani thi usko atkaya, bhatkaya, latkaya. “Now they themselves are stuck.”

He further added, “Gaurav yatra is not just for Gujarat alone; it is a yatra to establish the pride of entire India.” It’s a matter of fortune that Gujarat is the “Gangotri” of “Gaurav Yatra” to re-establish the nation on the global map, to make it self-reliant, developed.”

The BJP is fully prepared for the upcoming elections. Earlier on October 12, PM Modi addressed a public gathering at Jamkandorna in Rajkot district.

PM Modi tweeted, “Being in Jamkandorana is always special.”

Multiple projects worth Rs 8,000 crore were also launched by the Prime Minister at Amod, Bharuch. The foundation stone of the Bulk Drug Park has been laid by the PM at Jambusar, the deep sea pipeline project at Dahej, Phase 1 of Ankleshwar Airport, and the development of multilevel industrial sheds at Ankleshwar and Panoli.

The party has won six consecutive assembly elections in Gujarat. The decision on the candidates is still pending with Congress.

This year, the Aam Aadmi Party is also fighting the elections, led by Arvind Kejriwal. The term of the Gujara Assembly will end on February 18, 2023.
