</excerpt>

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the BJP government of mismanaging the Annapurna Rasoi Yojana, which provides affordable meals to the poor and middle class. Gehlot, in a social media post, claimed that the government has gradually weakened the scheme, which was originally launched as the Indira Rasoi Yojana during Congress rule. He emphasised that the programme was designed to ensure no one in the state would go to bed hungry, but under the current government, its effectiveness and quality have deteriorated.

Taking to social media, Gehlot remarked, “Indira Rasoi was started during our tenure with the spirit that no one should sleep hungry. After the BJP government came to power, the name of this scheme was changed to Annapurna Rasoi Yojana. After changing the name, there should have been a resolution to strengthen this scheme, but it is being gradually weakened.”

He pointed out that during the Congress’s tenure, the Indira Rasoi Yojana had even earned praise from foreign tourists, particularly in Jodhpur, where it had become common for international visitors to enjoy the meals.

Gehlot further criticised the BJP government, stating, “Now in the BJP government, there is no food in some kitchens, and in others, there is dirt. Cold food is being served, and as a result, people who come for the meals are getting disappointed.”

He expressed his disappointment at the poor management of the scheme and urged Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to take effective steps to monitor and improve the Annapurna Rasoi Yojana.

The Annapurna Rasoi Yojana was launched during the tenure of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s government. The scheme was initially called Indira Rasoi Yojana during Congress rule, which BJP had criticised for the name change. Following the BJP’s rise to power, the name of the scheme was altered again. On January 5, 2024, just 20 days after Bhajan Lal Sharma took office, the government announced the renaming of the scheme to Shri Annapurna Rasoi Yojana.

Gehlot further reminded people of the original purpose of the scheme, which aimed to provide nutritious, affordable meals to the poor and middle class.

“This scheme was meant to offer good food to people at a low price, and the Chief Minister should effectively monitor it and improve its quality,” he stated.

Gehlot Expresses Grief Over Demise Of Jodhpur’s First Woman Mayor

In a separate post, Gehlot also expressed his sorrow over the passing of Dr Omkumari Gehlot, the first woman mayor of Jodhpur. He offered his condolences, praying for her soul to rest in peace and for strength to her family members in this difficult time.

The death of Dr Omkumari Gehlot, a notable figure in Rajasthan’s political history, has left a void in the city. Her contribution as the first woman mayor of Jodhpur has been widely acknowledged, and her untimely demise has saddened many in the state. Gehlot extended his heartfelt condolences and shared in the grief of her loss.

</excerpt>

Devasthan, Dairy, and Gopalan Minister Joraram Kumawat responded to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s tweet regarding Galta Peeth. He stated that approval for Rs 48 lakh has been granted for necessary work at Galta Ji and its subordinate temples, as well as for service worship at the temples.

Regular Arrangements For Service Worship At Temples

Kumawat added that, following the government’s order, regular arrangements for bhog samagri and garlands are being made at the temples, with priests performing service worship and offering Hanuman Ji’s Mukharvind. He dismissed Gehlot’s statement as untrue.

Festivals And Events At Galtaji

Kumawat further emphasised that the government has organised grand celebrations for festivals like Tulsi Jayanti, Janmashtami, Navratri Utsav, Kanya Pujan, Deepotsav during Diwali, Chhath Utsav, and Dev Deepawali at Galtaji. Payments for priests, security personnel, gausevaks, and sanitation workers at Galtaji and its subordinate temples for December and January have also been made.

Increased Bhog Raag And Priest Honorarium

The Minister also announced that the Bhog Raag amount will be increased. In a recent cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at Rajasthan Mandapam in Prayagraj, it was decided to double the Bhog Raag to Rs 3,000 per temple for arrangements of service, worship, bhog, prasad, festivals, dress, water, lighting, etc. Additionally, the honorarium for part-time priests working in these temples has been raised from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500 per month.

Rs 101 Crore Budget For Temple Renovations

A Rs 101 crore budget has also been allocated for the renovation, repair, and development of temples under the Devasthan Department, and Rs 25 crore has been approved for the renovation of temples outside the state.

Development Of Temples And Faith Centres

Regarding the tweet from Gehlot, Kumawat said that they follow Sanatan and believe in the philosophy of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.” He criticised the previous government for focusing on facilities in madrasas to gain Muslim votes, spending crores of rupees on them. Kumawat added that the Bhajan Lal government has announced Rs 300 crores for the development of 20 temples and faith centres and Rs 100 crores for the construction of the Khatu Shyamji temple corridor in the 2024-25 state budget. With the aim of promoting religious tourism in the state, 12 temples will be renovated, and other development projects will be carried out.

Funding For Decorations And Aartis At 593 Temples

Additionally, Rs 13 crores has been allocated for special decorations and aartis during major festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Ram Navami at 593 temples across the state. The government has issued strict instructions for the maintenance and smooth operation of temples, with regular reviews.

</excerpt>

The BJP is intensifying its criticism of the remarks made by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, defending Rahul Gandhi, launched a big attack on RSS on Thursday. Gehlot has supported Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement on the RSS, describing it as a warning to the country about the deteriorating conditions. Gehlot stated that Gandhi’s remarks were completely accurate, emphasizing that there is an atmosphere of fear in the nation where people are afraid to voice their opinions. He criticized the BJP and RSS for allegedly pressuring national institutions over the past decade, aiming to bring them under their control.

Criticism Of BJP And RSS Influence On National Institutions

Gehlot claimed that central agencies such as the ED, CBI, Income Tax, and Delhi Police, along with independent bodies like the Election Commission, are now functioning under the influence of the government. He pointed out that even Supreme Court judges have spoken out about the pressure on the judiciary, reflecting widespread concern over the biased functioning of these institutions.

Historical Allegations Against RSS

Gehlot reiterated that Gandhi’s criticism of the RSS on Wednesday was justified, highlighting the group’s long-standing intention to align with the government. He noted that the RSS had historically sided with the British during the freedom struggle, furthering its agenda to control institutions and turn them against the opposition and the public.

Supreme Court Criticism Of ED’s Conduct

The former CM also referenced a recent Supreme Court remark on the ED’s conduct, where it was stated that the agency’s purpose seemed to be merely to incarcerate people by labelling them as accused. Gehlot interpreted this as clear evidence of the central government using the ED to intimidate and control the public, further intensifying concerns over the country’s political environment.

BJP’s Attempt To Divert Attention From Key Issues

He accused the BJP of attempting to divert attention from critical issues like inflation and unemployment by misrepresenting Gandhi’s remarks and tarnishing his image through media manipulation. Gandhi, during the inauguration of the Congress party’s new office on Wednesday, had called RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comment—claiming that India gained true independence only after the construction of the Ram temple—an act of treason. Gandhi linked Bhagwat’s statement to the country’s independence, sparking political tensions between the BJP and Congress. Many senior Congress leaders, including former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, defended Rahul and criticized the RSS and BJP. Given the current political climate, Gandhi’s remarks are likely to fuel even more heated exchanges between the two parties in the coming days.

Gadkari’s Message Of Peace And Harmony

The chadar on behalf of Gadkari was presented by Khadim Syed Afsan Chishti, who placed it at the tomb of Khwaja Garib Nawaz. In his message, Gadkari expressed congratulated the followers of Khwaja Garib Nawaz worldwide and highlighted the significance of Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb and social harmony, which the saint’s teachings have always championed. Gadkari emphasised the saint’s contribution to India’s spiritual traditions and called for the continued service to humanity, as exemplified by the Sufi saint.

On the same day, a velvet chadar and flowers were offered at the Dargah on behalf of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The Waqf Board Chairman, Khanu Khan Budhwali, along with several Congress leaders, carried the chadar and offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country and state. In his message, Gehlot praised Khwaja Garib Nawaz for his spiritual contributions and commitment to serving the oppressed, the weak, and fostering brotherhood. He stressed that during these times of divisive forces, the message of national unity preached by Khwaja Garib Nawaz holds immense importance.

Budhwali Reads Gehlot’s Message At Buland Darwaza

Budhwali read Gehlot’s message at the Buland Darwaza, where he extended his tribute to the saint and prayed for the success of the Urs. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering, including Congress leaders and local officials, all coming together to honour the spiritual legacy of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.

The occasion of the Urs brought together pilgrims from across communities and nations, all seeking blessings and spreading the message of peace and unity taught by Khwaja Garib Nawaz.

</excerpt>

In preparation for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Congress has launched the ‘Jeevan Raksha Yojana,’ a new health initiative aimed at providing families in Delhi with a health insurance cover of Rs 25 lakh. The announcement was made by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who described the scheme as a “game changer” for Delhi residents. Gehlot highlighted that the scheme was inspired by Rajasthan’s successful ‘Chiranjeevi Yojana,’ a health initiative that has benefited many families in the state.

A Game-Changer For Delhi’s Health System

Gehlot emphasised the comprehensive nature of the ‘Jeevan Raksha Yojana,’ which, unlike other health schemes like Ayushman Bharat, will provide extensive coverage without restrictions. He expressed confidence that this initiative would have a similar positive impact in Delhi as it did in Rajasthan.

Optimism For 2025 Delhi Elections

During the press conference, Gehlot also reflected on Congress’ growing optimism regarding the upcoming elections, noting that the political landscape in Delhi was shifting. He expressed hope that the 2025 elections would yield a different outcome, with Congress making a strong comeback.

Congress Reaffirms Commitment On Social Media

The Delhi Congress unit reiterated this vision on social media, highlighting that the second election guarantee would be a Rs 25 lakh free medical insurance cover for every Delhi resident. Vaibhav Walia, the Communications Secretary for the Indian National Congress, reaffirmed that the scheme would be implemented when Congress comes to power.

The party’s electoral strategy is focused on the welfare of citizens, particularly the underprivileged sections, contrasting Congress’ commitment to health with the current government’s approach. With elections scheduled for February 5, 2025, Congress aims to regain its influence in Delhi, following setbacks in recent years.

</excerpt>

BJP State President Madan Rathore has strongly countered the statements made by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, accusing him of creating confusion and engaging in political rhetoric rather than playing a constructive opposition role. Rathore, in a recent statement, remarked that Gehlot, being a three-time Chief Minister, understands the working of the government but chooses to engage in political rhetoric.

“He only shouts and speaks without substance. As a senior leader, he should refrain from this. Gehlot has always tried to create confusion, be it about the Constitution or EVMs. He has no substantial work to offer. Instead of doing this, he should play a positive role as the opposition leader,” Rathore stated.

Rathore Defends BJP’s Actions And Public Welfare Schemes

Rathore also defended the BJP government’s actions, stating that they had not discontinued any public welfare schemes initiated by the previous Congress government. He explained that while the Congress government may have introduced schemes for political gain, it is only natural for the BJP to review such schemes.

“The Gehlot government left crucial projects like the ERCP, pending for five years. Upon taking office, the BJP government prioritised the ERCP project, completing the MoU and initiating the tender process in a historic move,” Rathore added.

Rathore Slams Congress Protests In Banswara

Addressing the protests staged by Congress in Banswara, Rathore commented, “Congress is protesting in Banswara and getting beaten there. They couldn’t even save their deposits in Banswara, Dungarpur, and Chaurasi. The recent elections have shown the reality – they have no base in these areas. Congress leaders are desperately searching for their base through protests.”

Gehlot Criticises BJP’s Governance In Jodhpur Visit

Gehlot’s statements, made during a visit to Jodhpur on Sunday, targeted the one-year performance of the BJP government. He accused the government of ending schemes, closing schools, and discontinuing the creation of new districts that would have promoted better governance and public cooperation.

“If new districts would have been created, the public would have benefited. The government ended the schemes instead,” Gehlot had remarked.

He also criticised the delay in the SI recruitment, alleging that the BJP government was deliberately prolonging the process after the paper leak incident during the previous government.

In response, Rathore dismissed these claims, reinforcing the BJP government’s commitment to working for the welfare of the public and addressing the issues raised by Gehlot.

</excerpt>

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot raised serious concerns about the current state government’s actions, accusing them of deliberately prolonging important matters such as recruitment exams, district formation, and the implementation of key schemes. He addressed the media in Jodhpur on Sunday, elaborating on several issues and challenges faced by the state under the present government.

Concerns Over Delays In SI Recruitment Exam

Gehlot expressed his concerns about the handling of the Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam, which has been plagued by delays and controversies. He claimed that the government is intentionally prolonging the process to give the impression that the paper leak occurred during the previous government’s tenure. Gehlot stressed that although papers were leaked across the country, swift action should be taken against those responsible rather than prolonging the matter unnecessarily. He added that states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab have faced similar issues, emphasising the importance of addressing these matters promptly.

Support For English Medium Education In Rural Areas

On the subject of English medium schools, Gehlot praised the initiative of introducing English-medium education in rural areas, stating that it empowered children in villages to learn English and compete globally in fields such as AI and IT. He highlighted the importance of English in today’s world, particularly for the future of the youth.

Opposition To Halting New District Formation

The former CM also expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s decision to halt the formation of new districts, a move he believed would have improved governance and facilitated implementation of public schemes. He argued that discontinuing this initiative is harming public welfare and depriving the people of opportunities for better governance.

Gehlot Raises Questions Over ERCP Agreement

Regarding the ERCP (Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project), Gehlot raised questions about a secretive agreement between two states and urged the government to share more information about the agreement and its potential impact on Rajasthan. He also criticised the current government for not presenting its achievements and instead focusing on undoing policies introduced by the previous administration.

Stalled Developmental Projects Under Current Government

Additionally, Gehlot pointed out the stalling of several developmental projects approved during his tenure, such as the Fintech University and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Social Science, which have not made any progress. He also urged the government to inaugurate the Pachpadra refinery project as soon as possible, emphasising that the project would have benefited the youth by providing local job opportunities.

Gehlot Urges Shekhawat To Focus On Tourism

Lastly, Gehlot took a jab at Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, advising him to focus more on the tourism industry in Rajasthan. He suggested that Shekhawat push for tourism to be given the status of an industry in the state, thereby boosting the local economy and generating more job opportunities.

</excerpt>

With the announcement of by-elections in other states including Maharashtra-Jharkhand, Congress has come into election mode. Senior leader of the state and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been given the responsibility of Senior Observer of Konkan Division by the Congress Party. While former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has been given the responsibility of Senior Observer of Marathwada Division along with Uttam Kumar Reddy. Ashok Gehlot was the senior observer in the Haryana Assembly elections. While Pilot was made a star campaigner in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. After Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir elections, now both the leaders will also work in Maharashtra elections.
Voting will be held in Maharashtra on November 20. After the defeat in Haryana Assembly elections, Congress now does not want to leave any kind of deficiency at the ground level in Maharashtra elections. Therefore, now senior observers have been made at the division level and big leaders have been given responsibility. Usually, in assembly elections, the responsibility of senior observers is given at the state level. Giving division level responsibility to leaders like Gehlot and Pilot and making them senior observers is also being considered a part of this strategy. This is being linked to the micromanagement of Congress.
Meanwhile, with the announcement of by-elections on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan, the All India Congress Committee has given the responsibility of different assembly constituencies to the AICC secretaries in Rajasthan. State in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has issued an order in this regard. According to this, Chiranjeevi Rao has been given the responsibility of Jhunjhunu, Ramgarh and Khinvsar. Ritwik Makwana has been given the responsibility of Salumbhar and Chaurasi seats. While Poonam Paswan has been given the responsibility of Dausa and Deoli Uniara seats.

</excerpt>

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has clarified his “circus” statement, emphasising that the public ultimately decides the effectiveness of any government. He expressed that his remarks about Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma were made out of concern for his welfare, noting Sharma’s frequent travels between Delhi and Jaipur. Gehlot pointed out that the initial impression of Sharma’s government among the public has not been positive.
“Today, Congress is discussed in every village thanks to our initiatives,” Gehlot said, suggesting that Sharma conduct a survey to gauge public sentiment regarding his administration. He emphasised that if Sharma seeks attention as chief minister, it is his responsibility to deliver benefits to the people.
“I have no intention of insulting him; my comments are not meant to be malicious,” Gehlot asserted.
He added that members of Sharma’s own party have described the situation as chaotic, likening it to a circus.
“The most important opinion is that of the people of Rajasthan, which is beyond anyone’s control,” he concluded.
Gehlot remarked on the political landscape, acknowledging that his party also faced election losses.
“What didn’t we say to form the government? After taking office, I urged the need to serve the people, especially in these challenging times. The public must benefit, and if the opposition raises concerns, they should be taken seriously as constructive feedback.”
He criticised the current government’s approach to opposition criticism, stating, “When I was in power, we didn’t send multiple ministers to counter every statement. These officials are too focused on responding to me instead of addressing the issues at hand.”
On the topic of inflation relief, Gehlot questioned the rationale behind discontinuing the inflation relief kits, stating, “What do the people of the state think? This government has been in power for only 8-10 months, yet they continuously blame the previous administration. What kind of governance is happening in every department? People are struggling to receive their pensions, and crucial dengue prevention measures are being overlooked.” He pointed out that many beneficial schemes from his tenure have been shut down.
“We initiated ration kits to provide relief during inflation, but now they’ve been discontinued. You can rebrand the initiative under your name, but why close a program that was helping the people? Many schemes are either being terminated or weakened,” he concluded.

</excerpt>

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has responded to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s comments about a “circus.” He responded sharply saying, that Gehlot effectively performed a “circus” for a full five years, often shifting locations from hotels to other venues.
During the inauguration of the Tiger Safari at Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur on Monday, CM Sharma took aim at Gehlot, saying, “These days, Ashok Gehlot is quite active on ‘X’ and writing extensively. I want to remind him to reflect on his own words from ten months ago. When one points a finger at someone else, three fingers point back at them. He should keep this in mind.”
Sharma emphasised Gehlot’s experience as a multiple-time chief minister, urging him to self-reflect before making statements.
“He has been in politics for a long time and could have implemented the changes he is now advocating for himself,” Sharma remarked.
“He should consider how well he has lived up to his own words. Whether the Bharatiya Janata Party government is at the centre or in the state, whatever we have said, our government fulfills it. We had said that we will work to provide one lakh jobs. In 5 years, we will work to provide four lakh jobs. This is probably the first occasion when the cabinet has approved 90,000 job posts at once. What we have said, we will fulfill it completely.
After the inauguration, Sharma also went on a tiger safari and visited the biological park. Now wildlife lovers will also be able to enjoy tiger safari in Nahargarh. During the safari, the chief minister also named two tiger cubs in Nahargarh Biological Park. The chief minister named the female tiger cub ‘Skandi’ and the male tiger cub ‘Bheem’. Sharma congratulated the people of the state on the Wildlife Week being celebrated from October 2 to October 8 and said that it is the duty of all of us to protect wildlife and preserve nature. In this wildlife week, students are being given free entry to biological parks. He said that the tiger safari starting on Monday with the joint efforts of the Forest Department and JDA has given a new start to tourism in the state. Along with this, it will also promote the conservation and promotion of tigers.

Rajasthan enhances wildlife conservation and tree planting efforts

The chief minister said that Rajasthan is giving special emphasis on the conservation and promotion of wildlife. Three national parks, 26 sanctuaries, 36 conservation reserves and four biological parks have been developed in the state. He said that due to the continuous efforts being made by the state government for the conservation of tigers, their population is increasing. There are about 130 tigers in Rajasthan. He said that JDA has developed two new parks in Jaipur district. These include Nagar Van in Zerota and Biodiversity Park near Nevta. This will benefit the population of 5 lakhs in the surrounding area. Sharma said that under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, and ‘Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Maha Abhiyan’ started Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seven crore saplings have been planted in the state. He said that the state government is continuously planting trees under the ‘Hariyalo Mission’. Under which 10 crore saplings will be planted every year in the next five years.

Tiger Safari will promote conservation

The state government has developed a tiger safari in 30 hectares at a cost of Rs 453 lakh. A 7 km safari track has been developed in this tiger safari. This safari will give tourists an opportunity to experience the beauty of tigers in the natural environment and will spread awareness about tiger conservation among people.
It is noteworthy that Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 5 thousand 240 hectares. Nahargarh Biological Park has been developed in 720 hectares. Lion Safari is already operating in it. Minister of State for Urban Development (Independent Charge) Jhabar Singh Kharra, Minister of State for Forest and Environment (Independent Charge) Sanjay Sharma, MLA Prashant Sharma, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Heritage) Mayor Kusum Yadav, Principal Chief Forest Conservator Arijit Banerjee and many wildlife lovers were present in the ceremony.

</excerpt>

A “Congress storm” is brewing across Haryana, said senior Congress leader former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He said Congress will set a new victory record. In a special interview to the Daily Guardian, Gehlot, who was appointed party observer for Haryana elections, said Rahul Gandhi’s initiative to open ‘Mohabbat ki Dukan’ is effecting a change across the country, and its impact is now evident in Haryana following the Lok Sabha elections. He credits Rahul’s resolution, along with the strategies of national president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Priyanka Gandhi, for the likely change in party’s fortunes.

Stressing that the Congress is contesting elections united, Gehlot said the public is fed up with the 10 years of BJP rule. The public will answer the negative propaganda that BJP is doing about the party’s senior leader Selja on the day of voting. Selja herself has answered that BJP should not spread confusion. Gehlot said in Congress no one is made CM face in advance. The central leadership of the party approves the decision taken in the meeting of the legislative party after the elections. Excerpts from the interview:

Q: As a senior observer of Haryana elections, what is your assessment?
A: Based on my observations, it seems quite clear that the BJP is going to face a crushing defeat in Haryana. I believe they are likely to experience a substantial defeat in the upcoming elections. Many people in the state are frustrated with what they have seen in ten years of misrule under BJP leadership and have decided to support Congress. Regardless of the propaganda efforts the BJP may employ, I don’t think they will be able to influence or sway the public opinion. Both former Chief Minister Manohar Lal and current Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini seem unable to connect with the voters, who appear determined not to be misled any longer.

Q) On what basis are you saying that Congress will win?
A: See, the resolution taken by our leader Rahul Gandhi to open ‘Mohabbat ki Dukan’ during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, its effect was visible in the Lok Sabha elections. People have regained faith in Congress. The same effect is now visible in Haryana as well. Rahul’s resolution to open ‘Mohabbat ki Dukan’ is also going to play a big role in the victory of Congress. People have now started giving more importance to brotherhood than the divisive politics of BJP.

You’ll see that every section of Haryana is unhappy with BJP’s rule. Take the farmers, for example. For the first time in independent India, they sat under the open sky during harsh winter, rain, and summer. Tragically, hundreds lost their lives, yet the Modi government showed indifference. To make matters worse, farmers were denied entry into the capital to voice their demands. This level of disregard has deeply affected the agricultural community and has contributed to their growing frustration with the current government.
In such a situation, you tell why the farmer will vote for BJP. Farmers have also expressed their displeasure in the Lok Sabha elections. Now talk about wrestler daughters. In my political life of more than 45 years, I do not remember that the country’s farmers were not allowed to enter the capital. This kind of misbehaviour happened with women wrestlers on the streets of the capital. Women have not forgotten this insult. The youth who want to join the army are angry with the Agniveer scheme. The common man is angry with unemployment, inflation, corruption and the ruined law and order. The public has seen the rule of Congress, so the public has already made up its mind to make Congress win. Now, no matter how many parties contest the elections, nothing is going to happen.

Q: It seems Congress is dealing with infighting instead of focusing on elections. Selja has kept a distance from campaigning. Randeep Surjewala is limited to campaigning for his son. BJP is making offers to angry leaders of AAP.
A: Look, there is no fight within Congress. This is a theory created by media and BJP. The party is fighting the elections collectively. You will soon see many big leaders like Selja and Randeep Singh Surjewala campaigning for the elections. The BJP finds itself in a position similar to a frustrated cat scratching a pillar. Knowing they’re unlikely to succeed, they attempt to create doubt about Congress. Selja is a senior and strong leader of Congress. Selja herself has given a befitting reply to BJP that she is a Congress person and will remain a Congress person. She is not going anywhere. I would say to BJP people that now the days are over. The politics of sabotage is not going to work in Haryana. The public will give the answer on the day of voting. I would especially like to tell former CM Manohal Lal sahab that he should think more about himself than our leader Selja about what will happen to his party after 8 October.

Q: However, during ticket distribution, it became evident that more supporters of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda were given the tickets. There are also claims that he may become the Chief Minister again, which has led to dissatisfaction among other leaders. What are your thoughts on this?
A: I have already said that the media and BJP talk according to their own will. Then there is a discussion on it. I will tell you how tickets are given in Congress. Names come from the state. A proper survey of the winners is conducted. Then the scrutiny committee considers them. Many times two strong contenders come for one seat. Then the central election committee considers. In that, the winner is given a chance. There is no point in giving ticket to one person. Those who were going to win are given tickets. Our party or any leader has never said that more tickets were given to the supporters of so and so. You people decide everything. As far as the question of Chief Minister is concerned, in our party the winning MLAs and the central leadership decide who will be the Chief Minister. In the central leadership, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi etc. take the decision together. As far as Bhupendra Singh Hooda is concerned, he is the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. At the time of elections, the role of State President Uday Bhan and Leader of Opposition becomes important. The role of the leader of the AAP becomes important.

In a separate statement, Gehlot took to social media and expressed deep concern about the increasing crime rates in his constituency, Jodhpur. He highlighted that while Jodhpur was previously in the spotlight for its major infrastructure projects, including Marwar Medical University, Rajiv Gandhi Fintech Institute, Marwar International Center, and Pawta ISBT, recent news has been dominated by crime-related issues.

Gehlot criticized the ruling party’s representatives, noting that 8 out of 10 MLAs and MPs from Jodhpur belong to the ruling party yet have neglected the city’s pressing issues. He called on the state government to take decisive action to improve law and order in Jodhpur, ensuring the safety of its residents and preserving its esteemed reputation.
Additionally, Gehlot paid tribute to his late mother, Seva Devi, on her death anniversary, offering homage and reflecting on her influence.

</excerpt>

The notice states that court-issued attachment warrants have been served to borrowers who have defaulted on their loans from the Hanumangarh branch of the bank.

The political temperature has increased in Rajasthan politics after BJP released the advertisement for auction of farmers’ land in Hanumangarh. The Congress has launched scathing attack on BJP and at the central Modi government in this matter. Hanumangarh Cooperative Land Development Bank Limited has issued an auction notice. The notice states that court-issued attachment warrants have been served to borrowers who have defaulted on their loans from the Hanumangarh branch of the bank. These borrowers deliberately failed to repay their loans, resulting in the confiscation of their mortgaged agricultural land or property. Now, the bank will auction off these confiscated properties publicly. The advertisement provides information about the confiscation of 20 properties, with most borrowers having taken loans for housing and agriculture purposes, while two had taken loans for non-agricultural purposes.

In this matter, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has written on social media ‘X’ that the advertisement printed in the newspapers of Hanumangarh district for auctioning the land of farmers has exposed the truth of “Modi’s guarantee”. BJP had promised on page number 42 of its manifesto in Rajasthan that it will ensure to stop the auction of farmers’ land, but the land of farmers is being auctioned in Rajasthan.

He said that this anti-farmer BJP government formed the government by making false promises, but they do not care about the farmers. Our government had formed the Agricultural Debt Relief Commission, but the new government has not made it functional either.

Gehlot wrote that in November 2020, our government had passed a bill from the assembly and made a provision that 5 acres of agricultural land of farmers would not be auctioned.

The Governor had sent this bill to the Central Government for approval, but it has not yet received approval from the Central Government. For this reason, on January 20, 2022, our government, through an administrative order, banned the agricultural land auction started by some banks at that time.

Gehlot wrote that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma should immediately get the bill passed in the Assembly on November 2020 approved by the Central Government, so that farmers can get relief. He said that ‘I want to tell the Chief Minister that by giving immediate orders, the auction of farmers’ land should be stopped and concrete arrangements should be made so that no further auction can take place.’

However, after former CM Ashok Gehlot issued a statement on social media, BJP’s state president CP Joshi has responded in a special conversation with The Daily Guardian.

He further alleged that the audio of the phone conversation of Rebel congress leaders were provided to news organizations by Ashok Gehlot himself.

The conversation about ousting the Congress government was tapped.

Adding another revelation during press conference, Lokesh Sharma further disclosed that in 2020, Gehlot himself provided him with the audio clip featuring Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and other Congress members discussing the ousting of the Congress government in Rajasthan.

How did the conversations go viral?

According to the confession of the former OSD, he revealed that contrary to what he had previously stated, he did not obtain those audio recordings from social media. This is not the truth. While addressing the press conference, he revealed that he himself gave that audio clips to media using his phone number.

In those clips, a conspiracy was hatched to bring down the government by poaching the MLAs. On July 16, 2020, Ashok Gehlot visited Fairmount Hotel, where all the rebel leaders were kept. After one hour when the CM left, he called Lokesh Sharma through PSO Ramniwas, and asked to come to the CMs Residence.

After coming to the house, Ashok Gehlot allegedly handed him the pen drive and paper which contained the conversation between Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Late MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma, and Sanjay Jain. Who were allegedly planning to topple the government.

Later sharma further emphasized, that he was asked by the ex-cm of Rajasthan to circulate the audio through social media. And he also asked me to circulate this audio clips to media. “I was asked to circulate the audio on social media. I did not receive these audio clips via social media, CM Ashok Gehlot handed them over to me in this pen drive and asked me to circulate them to the media.”said Lokesh Sharma

Wanted to portray the BJP’s hand behind the toppling of the Rajasthan government

He further said that the congress wanted to prove BJP’s hand in this matter, which wasn’t the case at all. In this whole matter, they managed to portray Gajendra Singh Shekhawat as the main accused in this whole matter. And due to ignorance of their grievances, All the MLAs along with Sachin Pilot, and reached the party’s high command.

As soon as Gehlot got to know about it, he kept everyone’s phone on surveillance including that of Sachin Pilot.

</excerpt>

Congress MLA and former Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya is reportedly considering joining the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), posing a significant setback to the Congress in the state as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach.

Sources suggest that Malviya is discontented with the Congress. His absence during the filing of nomination papers for Sonia Gandhi, a Congress candidate from Rajasthan for the Rajya Sabha elections on February 14, raised eyebrows.

Currently representing the Bagidora Assembly seat in the Banswara district, Malviya’s potential shift to the BJP holds importance, especially in southern Rajasthan, where the BJP traditionally has a stronger presence. The Bagidora Assembly seat is situated in the Mewar region, covering districts like Bhilwara, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, and Udaipur.

A tribal leader, Malviya has been an MLA since 2008, winning against Janata Dal (United)’s Jeetmal Khant. Despite facing anti-incumbency in 2013, he retained his seat and defeated the BJP’s Khemraj Garasiya in both 2013 and 2018. In 2020, Malviya was implicated in an FIR related to the attempt to overthrow the Ashok Gehlot government during the political crisis that year, though he has remained a prominent political figure.

</excerpt>

The Congress party has entrusted a new responsibility to former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, as he takes on a crucial role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The Congress has formed a committee to explore alliances with other parties for the elections, focusing on negotiating seat-sharing agreements. This committee includes leaders such as Ashok Gehlot, Mohan Prakash, Bhupesh Baghel, Mukul Vasnik, and Salman Khurshid. The inclusion of Gehlot and Baghel comes at a time when the Congress faced defeats in recent assembly elections in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties are convening in Delhi for their fourth meeting today. However, the Congress has already established a ‘National Alliance Committee’ to leverage the experience of its senior leaders. In the elections slated for the next year, the Congress aims to deploy the expertise of its senior leaders, especially considering the recent losses in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, where Congress senior leaders may play a pivotal role.

The BJP has been under fire from Congressman and acting chief minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, for the three Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan’s lack of announcement of their chief ministers’ identities. Gehlot expressed dissatisfaction ahead of a crucial meeting to assess the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly elections, claiming that “there is no discipline in this party.”

Gehlot, who is in Delhi for the meeting, accused the BJP of polarizing the elections in Rajasthan by raising religious issues and spreading misinformation. He remarked on the BJP’s delay in announcing the Rajasthan Chief Minister, stating that if the Congress had taken a similar amount of time, the BJP would have criticized them. Gehlot emphasized the need for the new government to quickly make decisions, citing the example of the Gogamedi case, where he had to sign a document for an NIA probe.

The Congress leader highlighted issues such as triple talaq, the abrogation of Article 370, the Kanhaiya Lal murder, and false narratives about monetary distributions based on religion as factors contributing to the BJP’s victory in the assembly elections. Despite these allegations, Gehlot mentioned that the Congress would cooperate with the new government.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party MP Rahul Gandhi arrived at the AICC headquarters in Delhi for a crucial meeting to review the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly polls. Rajasthan Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra emphasized the party’s focus on analyzing shortcomings and making corrections for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress brass held separate meetings to review losses in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, seeking detailed reports from state unit chiefs on the party’s performance. The recent assembly election results, particularly the losses in the Hindi heartland, dealt a significant blow to Congress’s prospects for the 2024 elections, leading to a reevaluation of strategies and performance. In Rajasthan, the BJP emerged victorious, winning 115 seats, while the Congress trailed with 69 seats.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot handed in his resignation letter to Governor Kalraj Mishra as the BJP appeared to be on the verge of victory in the Rajasthan Assembly elections. The resignation was confirmed in an official statement from the governor’s office, which stated that Gehlot submitted his resignation on Sunday at Raj Bhavan.

Governor Mishra swiftly accepted Gehlot’s resignation, urging him to continue working until the formation of the new government in the state. The unexpected move comes as the BJP establishes a lead in the assembly, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of Rajasthan.

In a social media post earlier, Chief Minister Gehlot expressed his acceptance of the public mandate as the BJP secured a lead. “We humbly accept the mandate given by the people of Rajasthan. This is an unexpected result for everyone. This defeat shows that we were not completely successful in taking our plans, laws, and innovations to the public,” Gehlot shared on X.

Gehlot, in a gracious gesture, called for the continuation of the schemes initiated during his tenure in the new BJP government. “I wish the new government all the best. My advice to them is that despite working hard, we were not successful, but it does not mean that they should stop working after coming to the government. All the schemes, including OPS, Chiranjeevi, and the pace of development that we have given to Rajasthan in these five years should be taken forward,” he emphasized.

Expressing gratitude, Gehlot thanked Congress workers and voters for their support. Despite Gehlot leading in the Sardarpura constituency, the BJP surged ahead on 115 seats in the 199-member Assembly, while Congress lagged with 69 seats.

Rajasthan witnessed polling on 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25, with the majority mark set at 100. The elections in the Karanpur constituency were adjourned due to the unfortunate passing away of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. The unexpected resignation of Chief Minister Gehlot adds a layer of uncertainty to the evolving political scenario in Rajasthan, as the BJP’s dominance reshapes the political narrative.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took a dig at the BJP ahead of the state assembly elections, stating that the party is frustrated because it couldn’t topple the government in Rajasthan. Gehlot compared the BJP’s success in forming governments in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh through toppling strategies but highlighted their inability to do so in Rajasthan.

During a press conference in Jaipur, Gehlot commented on the BJP’s election campaigning and predicted their absence from the state after the November 25 elections. He also addressed the Mahadev App controversy in Chhattisgarh, accusing the BJP of conspiring against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Gehlot criticized the central government for misusing agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), alleging that they are being employed to topple governments rather than focusing on economic offenses.

Gehlot emphasized the importance of these agencies in dealing with economic offenders and securing the country’s economy. He accused the BJP of using pressure tactics, including ED’s influence and income tax raids, to threaten Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and orchestrate government changes in states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

In response, the BJP has also made critical statements against the Congress, with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserting that the Gehlot government has negatively impacted Rajasthan over the past five years. The Rajasthan elections for 199 seats are scheduled for November 25, with results expected on December 3.

</excerpt>

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday that the Congress party would return to power for a second term if it won a large majority in the next assembly elections, which are planned for the end of the year.

In Jaipur earlier today, Rajasthan Congress leaders met in the presence of the party’s state unit president Govind Singh Dotasara, CM Ashok Gehlot, MLA Sachin Pilot, and state in charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.

After the meeting, Gehlot while addressing the media, said, “Congress will again win with a huge majority in the state. The public has determined that Congress repeats government in Rajasthan”.

He went on to say that they had begun preparations and that the state was directing the other states on various subjects. CM Gehlot went on to say that other states were incorporating their plans into their election manifestos and poll campaigns.

He stated that people in various sections of the country were discussing their systems, such as the Old Pension Scheme, the Right to Health, Social Security, and others. “It is a significant victory in and of itself.”

Congress leader Raghu Sharma claimed on Saturday that the party will form the government in Rajasthan again in the State Assembly elections this year.

Furthermore, on August 17, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the formation of the state BJP unit’s election manifesto committee and the Rajasthan BJP unit’s election manifesto committee.

</excerpt>

The Bharatiya Janata Party described it as a “Bofors moment” for the state administration on Thursday, a day after ousted Rajasthan Minister Ram Chandra Gudha made three pages of his “red diary” public and accused voters of corruption in the Rajasthan Cricket Association election.

Rajendra Gudha, a former minister from Rajasthan who was removed from the Cabinet after criticising his own administration for the rise in crime against women, published three pages of a “red diary” on Wednesday in which he claimed there had been fraud in the elections for the Rajasthan Cricket Association, which is run by Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav. “The’red diary’ is disclosing the actions of not just the chief minister of Rajasthan but also his son…Because the accusations being made against the administration, this is the Rajasthan government’s Bofors moment, according to BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi, who was speaking at a news conference.

He said that a black chapter has been added to the misdeeds of the Rajasthan government and that chapter is associated with the red diary.
Asserting that whenever BJP raises allegations against Congress and other Oppositions are not “baseless”, Trivedi said, “In 2G (scam), there was a report of Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) and an observation of court. During Bofors, (former Prime Minister) Rajiv Gandhi’s minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh levelled the same allegations. Today Rajendra Gudha levelled allegations against its own government led by Ashok Gehlot. So I can say that this is going to be a Bofors moment for the Rajasthan government.”
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Gudha held up the ‘Red Diary’ and also read a couple of pages from it saying he will continue revealing more secrets in the coming days.

Invoking a purported conversation between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Saubhag Singh and Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dharmendra Rathore, Gudha said the diary mentions talks on settling accounts of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

</excerpt>

On Friday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s “Jan Sangharsh Yatra” entered its second day amidst political commotion in Rajasthan.The 125-kilometer yatra from Ajmer to Jaipur concentrates on pressing issues like paper leakage and corruption. Pilot walked about 25 kilometres on the first day from Ajmer to Tolamal village in Kishangarh to challenge Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the party’s top leadership as the state assembly elections draw closer.

“Even though it’s May and the height of summer, people are still out on the streets because the concerns I’ve brought up are still important. We are impacted by issues with corruption and issues with the future of our youth. On the second day of his yatra, Pilot said, “We hope our state government will take notice of the issues I have raised.

According to reports, the five-day yatra mounts further pressure on the party leadership as it hopes to retain the state in the elections at the end of the year. “I am taking out this yatra to raise my voice, to hear your voice, and to become the voice of the people,” Pilot said at the start of the ‘padyatra’.Earlier on Tuesday (May 9), Pliot announced that he will take out a ‘Jan Sangharsh Yatra’ against the “inaction of the Rajasthan government” with regard to the alleged corruption during the previous Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government in the state.

</excerpt>

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Thursday lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh over the Supreme Court verdict on Maharashtra political crisis and said that they are not concerned about it.

Talking to the media persons, Gehlot said, “BJP and RSS are fascists, they don’t care what the Supreme Court verdict is.” This comes after, the SC on Thursday said that it could not disqualify the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government and rejected the submission to reinstate Uddhav Thackeray as chief minister because the latter had chosen to resign instead of facing a test of strength in the assembly.

Hitting out at BJP, Gehlot alleged that the party toppled the government in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

“They (BJP) toppled the government in MP, Maharashtra and Karnataka, our (Rajasthan) government survived otherwise, the same situation would have happened to us. People should save themselves from these people,” he said.

After the verdict of SC, Uddhav Thackeray said that people who had left his party had no right to ask him questions, and if Eknath Shinde has any morality he should submit his resignation.

</excerpt>

In an escalation of conflict in Rajasthan Congress, party leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday attacked Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot saying that his speech in Dholpur showed that Gehlot’s leader “is not Sonia Gandhi but Vasundhara Raje Scindia”. Pilot announced ‘Jan Sangharsh Yatra’ from Ajmer on May 11 to raise issues of “corruption”.

Pilot’s attack on Gehlot came on a day Rahul Gandhi is in Rajasthan and days after the Chief Minister claimed at a rally in Dholpur that Vasundhara Raje was among BJP leaders who helped him save his government during the revolt by Pilot and some Congress MLAs in 2020 seeking change in leadership in the state. Gehlot had also targeted the MLAs who had revolted against him and said who those “who took money from the BJP to return it”.

Pilot alleged at a press conference that there was “corruption” under the BJP government and there was no action on it.
“For 4.5 years, why no action was taken, I am able to understand now. I wrote letters, went on fast but there was no action. Now I can understand why. But people are bigger than any leader. We will go before people. We will keep issues before them,” Pilot said.
He said the yatra will start from the RPSC office in Ajmer and alleged there was corruption there which led to the cancellation of exams affecting students and their parents.

“I will hold a five-day-long ‘Jan Sangarsh Yatra’ from Ajmer to Jaipur starting May 11. This yatra is against corruption. Any further decision will be taken after this yatra,” Pilot said.

Pilot, a former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister, said they will raise issues like corruption and other issues concerning the youth.
“I believe the right decisions are only taken when we have people’s support.”
Rajasthan will go to the polls later this year and the latest round of conflict between Pilot and Gehlot has raised problems for Congress.
“Some people want to weaken the Congress party, we will not let them succeed. But my stand on public issues, it was and will remain the same,” Pilot said.

Taking a swipe at Gehlot, Pilot said it is first time he has seen that an attempt was made to defame the party MLAs.He said allegations had been levelled that BJP had tried to bring down the Congress government and now there are remarks that BJP leaders saved it.
