A suspect who was involved in the shooting that occurred at the residence of singer AP Dhillon in British Columbia has been arrested, according to a police report, which further suggests that another suspect may have escaped to India.

The Canadian police reported, “On October 30th, 2024, a man was arrested and later charged in connection with recklessly discharging a firearm into a residence as well as setting fire to two vehicles in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, Colwood on September. The crime occurred on September 2024.” The arrest relates to an incident in September when shots were fired and vehicles were set on fire near Dhillon’s Vancouver-area home.

Who are the suspects in the AP Dhillon shooting case? The Royal Canadian Mounted Police identified the arrested suspect as 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra from Winnipeg. Kingra is charged with “Discharge of a Firearm with Intent and Arson.” He was arrested in Ontario and is expected to appear in court there on Friday.

The suspect in the video is seen setting fire to a black truck and a small vehicle before firing shots, a total of 14, at Dhillon’s residence and fleeing away in a car.

In another video, scorch marks of the cars are seen along with bullet holes in the front windowpanes of Dhillon’s residence.

Rohit Godara, a gangster linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack in a message on social media, according to reports. The Bishnoi-Godara gang is also accused of carrying out shootings in Victoria Island and Woodbridge in Canada. These, though, cannot be independently verified.

In response, Dhillon, a rising hip-hop artist, updated his fans on his Instagram Stories that he and his team are safe. The artist said: “I’m safe. My people are safe. Thanks again to the love from everybody who hit my phone. That shit means the world. Peace, love to all.”

A 31-year-old musician from Gurdaspur in Canada, he shifted there in 2015 for post-graduation in Business Administration and Management. This incident comes a month after a similar attack on the residence of Bollywood star Salman Khan in Mumbai, allegedly by the Bishnoi gang.

Amid Shubh’s Tour Controversy, AP Dhillon Shares Cryptic Post

Punjabi-Canadian rapper Shubhneet Singh’s ‘Still Rollin India tour’ was cancelled earlier over his alleged support to the Khalistan cause.

A day after Shubh’s tour was cancelled, Indo-Canadian singer AP Dhillon took to Instagram stories and broke his silence on the fury over Shubh’s tour.

Dhillon wrote, “I try to stay out of all the social mania as it is clear to me that regardless of what I say or do, it is a lost cause… someone, somewhere is going to spin the narrative to their liking and create more division. As an artist, it has become almost impossible to stay focused on your craft and do what you love. I try to be mindful of everyone’s sentiments but it has gotten to a point where we have to second and triple guess our every move due to fear of unintentionally fuelling even more division.”

He added, “Special interest and political groups constantly use our (artists’) public image as a chess piece to further their agenda, while we are just trying to make art that helps people on an individual level, regardless of their colour, race, religion, nationality, gender etc.”

Dhillon concluded, “Spread love not hate. Let’s start thinking for ourselves and not let hateful influences program our beliefs. We are ALL one. let’s not let man-made social constructs divide us. Division has gotten us to this point but unity is the key to the future.”

For those unaware, ticket booking platform BookMyShow posted on X on September 20 that the musician’s show has been cancelled. Also, the company said that it has initiated a complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show.

AP Dhillon Says ‘Brown Community Is Getting The Light It Deserves Globally’

Singer AP Dhillon believes the brown community is finally getting the appreciation it deserves. He told News Agency in an interview, “We, as a brown community, are getting the light, the appreciation that we deserve, and that our culture is moving forward, like hip-hop music… I don’t think the world took us seriously before, and now they are.”

The singer added, “The music coming from India or the Indian people, who are in Canada or in States, is getting recognised. It is amazing to see all these artists now doing different things, trying independently… So it gave people hope that, ‘If he can do it, I can do it too.”

AP Dhillon shared while music was always his passion, he initially wanted to become a basketball player. “Before this, I just wanted to be a basketball player. When I moved to Canada, I was in survival mode. I salute all the students who go there. They work so hard, they go there from such a different culture. They try to fit in, there is pressure of working, making money, and going to school.”

The singer said, “Sometimes you forget about your dreams, you just want to survive. But we didn’t stop. Music was always my passion. I wanted to make music, I loved singing, and playing guitar here and there.”

He added, “I used to listen to artist tracks, I would listen to a lot of Punjabi artists like Jitender Sartaj, Garry Sandhu, Amar Singh Chamkila, they are legends, Gurdip Mann. I used to listen to all sorts of music… There’ve been some great artists, like so many… Arjit Singh, AR Rahman, Siddhu was amazing. There is a lot of old music. So, a lot of these artists inspire.”

For those unaware, his four-part documentary series is currently streaming on Prime Video. Watching his journey on screen made him “emotional.” He shared, “With the documentary, we just wanted to create something, which helps other artists and other people, who are starting out and are trying to do similar things, and they have this brown print to follow.”

The singer continued, “It is just like keep doing it, pushing it more and more, just experimenting with our sounds, and giving fans what they want. That’s the goal, keep doing what we are doing.”

Asked if he has received offers from Bollywood for a collaboration, he said, “Whenever we feel right, we will do it. But so many times we have been offered but we didn’t get time to do it. Whenever we feel right for a certain movie, like it goes with our image and sound… We just don’t want to force it.”

Many popular celebs such as Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh attended the grand screening event of AP Dhillon First of a Kind, the Amazon Prime docuseries. First of a Kind is based on the life of the celebrated Indo-Canadian singer-rapper AP Dhillon.

The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor Ranveer Singh arrived at the screening and posed with host AP Dhillon in style. Later, Bollywood Dabangg star Salman Khan made a grand entry into the venue. Ranveer opted for an off-white co-ord set, which is paired with a statement layered necklace, his signature diamond studs, and a pair of oversized sunglasses. Salman Khan looks his casual best in a grey t-shirt and a pair of black trousers. On the other hand, host AP Dhillon opted for a multi-color tye- dye jacket, matching t-shirt, and trousers.
