Bollywood Actors Attend Nirmal Kapoor’s Funeral in Mumbai

Several Bollywood celebrities, including Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, and Harshvardhan Kapoor, gathered in Mumbai on Saturday to pay their last respects to Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of veteran actor Anil Kapoor. She passed away on May 2 at the age of 90 after a brief hospital stay at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

The funeral is being held at the Vile Parle Crematorium on S.V. Road in Mumbai. Many stars were seen arriving at the crematorium to offer condolences. Rani Mukerji appeared in a white kurta and blue jeans. Harshvardhan Kapoor, Nirmal Kapoor’s grandson, was also present, followed by his sister Sonam Kapoor. Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, dressed in white, also attended.

Boney Kapoor, Nirmal’s son, was seen at the venue. Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor arrived hand in hand to bid farewell to their grandmother. Earlier in the morning, the Kapoor family held the Antim Darshan at Nirmal Kapoor’s residence. In an interview, Ranvir shared his mixed emotions regarding Anil Kapoor replacing Salman Khan as the host this year. LS Polls 2024: Anil Kapoor Says, ‘All Citizens Of India Should Vote’

As voting commenced on Monday in Mumbai for the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, numerous notable personalities exercised their right to vote. Among them was veteran actor Anil Kapoor, who cast his vote at a polling booth in the city.

After voting, Anil Kapoor urged everyone to utilize their voting power. “I have cast my vote. All citizens of India should vote,” Anil told ANI.

Earlier in the day, celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Suniel Shetty, Kunal Kemmu, Neha Dhupia, Mahesh Bhatt, and Govinda were seen arriving at their respective polling stations to cast their votes.

Voting on Monday began at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm, with those in line by closing time still allowed to vote. According to the ECI, over 8.95 crore voters, including 4.69 crore males, 4.26 crore females, and 5409 third-gender electors, will determine the fate of 695 candidates in this phase.

The fifth phase features significant contests in various constituencies. Leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Piyush Goyal, Ujjwal Nikam, Karan Bhushan Singh, LJP (Ramvilas) chief Chirag Paswan, JKNC chief Omar Abdullah, and RJD leader Rohini Acharya are vying for electoral success. To ensure a peaceful voting environment, a total of 2,000 flying squads, 2105 static surveillance teams, 881 video surveillance teams, and 502 video viewing teams are monitoring the 94,732 polling stations round the clock.

Meanwhile, Kapoor is enjoying the success of Siddharth Anand’s aerial action thriller ‘Fighter,’ where he stars alongside Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. In ‘Fighter,’ Kapoor portrays Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, fighting alongside Roshan’s Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania and Padukone’s Squadron Leader Minal Rathore. Fighter Box Office Collection Drop To Single Digits After Three days

Fighter’s weekday business, which launched last week, is something of a “paradox,” according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The domestic box office numbers for the film Fighter, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as air force officials, have dropped sharply. Mr. Adarsh claims that “the dwindling numbers in India are a complete shocker.” However the movie is doing well overseas; following a “excellent weekend” of sales, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have all reported high box office results. In his post about the statistics, Taran Adarsh posed the question, “How does one explain this paradox?”
After six days in theaters, Fighter has earned ₹ 134 crore at the box office, according to Sacnilk.

This week, the earnings dropped to single digits with just ₹8 crore on Monday and ₹7.5 crore yesterday in comparison to ₹29 crore on Sunday

“Fighter shocks India, rocks overseas. The underperformance of Fighter has sent shock waves within the industry. Imagine, the film ticks all the boxes – right from star names and director’s credentials to tremendous critical acclaim and positive audience feedback. Yet, the dwindling numbers in India are a complete shocker. To face a setback at the very start of the year is indeed worrisome,” posted Taran Adarsh.

“Having said that, while the numbers are witnessing a downward trend in India, the biz in key international markets continue to be strong, even on weekdays. Markets like USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are still holding fort, even after an excellent weekend. How does one explain this paradox?” he added.

He’s isn’t the only expert who is astonished by very low numbers of this year’s first big film. “It’s disappointing to see Fighter drop on Monday. This is a film that deserved to be a success. Surprised that audiences have not stepped in, even though Friday was particularly good,” wrote trade analyst Joginder Tuteja.

Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles.
