</excerpt>

Raipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday presided over two key meetings in Raipur on Naxalism and met the relatives of a police officer who was martyred in an IED blast, officials added. He said that the nation will be Naxal-free by March 31, 2026, an official statement added.

Amit Shah Holds Inter-State Coordination and LWE Review Meetings

Shah chaired his first Inter-State Security Coordination Meeting on Naxalism with Director Generals of Police and Additional DGPs and top officials of seven states Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The second was a review meeting on the Left Wing Extremism situation in Chhattisgarh, it said.

Reiterating that there would be no let-up in the momentum gained by security forces, Shah added the anti-Naxal operations would continue even in the rains.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and a few other top officials of Central Armed Police Forces joined the meeting at a hotel in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

Amit Shah Lauds State Government and Security Forces

Shah has commended the Sai government for providing a new thrust to a “previously stalled” anti-Naxal campaign and charting, apart from an added morale boost for security forces, it added.

Deputy CM Sharma subsequently informed mediapersons that the Union minister went through all the problems and discussed gaining momentum for the campaign in the monsoon.

Amit Shah Meets Martyr’s Family, Cancels BSF Camp Visit

Shah also met the relatives of Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao Girepunje, who lost his life when an IED set by Maoists detonated in Sukma district on June 9, and assured them of every possible help, he added.

When questioned regarding Shah’s planned visit to a Border Security Force camp in Narayanpur district of Bastar division on Monday, Sharma replied, “There are forecasts for rain tomorrow and therefore the tour is not likely to happen.”

A group of security force commanders has been summoned in Raipur. “Shah ji may meet them in Raipur,” he added.

Layed Foundation Stones for Forensic Institutions

Earlier today, Shah laid the foundation stones of the campus of National Forensic Science University and a Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Chhattisgarh’s Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. He also inaugurated online the transit campus of NFSU in Raipur.

Shah explained that Naxalites will not find relief during monsoon as operations against them will go on in rains, though he disallowed talks and urged the ultras to surrender arms and take the path of development.

Gunned down since last January, over 400 Maoist ultras by security forces in individual encounters in the state, the most significant being Bastar’s killing on May 21 of Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavaraju, general secretary and highest functioning member of proscribed Communist Party of India.

</excerpt>

Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday confirmed that BrahMos missiles, developed within the country, had been employed in destroying Pakistani air bases during the recent conflict following India’s Operation Sindoor.

In his speech in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, Amit Shah also informed that Pakistan’s China-borrowed air defence system saw no action during Operation Sindoor, revealing its terrorism lies to the world.

Amit Shah: Air Bases Destroyed With Indigenous BrahMos

“As our indigenously developed BrahMos (supersonic cruise missile system) worked to destroy Pakistan’s air bases, its own air defence system, borrowed from China, remained unused. Our Air Force carried out precise attacks and inflicted heavy damage on many places in Pakistan, which were considered impregnable. Operation Sindoor will be written in golden letters when the history is written on the border safety,” PTI quoted Shah as saying.

The home minister expressed that although surgical strikes and the airstrike in the previous instance were confined to the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), India intruded 100 km deep inside Pakistan’s border in Operation Sindoor and wiped out terrorists and their clusters.

Pakistan’s Narrative on Terrorism Exposed says Amit Shah

“Pakistan used to tell the whole world that no terrorist activity happens there and accused India of making false complaints. But, terrorists were finished with missiles under ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pakistan was exposed to the world,” Shah said.

He said the next day, senior officers of the Pakistani army attended the funeral of terrorists and offered prayers, “which exposed the nexus of the Pakistani Army, Pakistan, and terrorism, and the whole world came to know that Pakistan runs bases for terrorists”.

Operation Sindoor was initiated by the Indian forces in retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack that had resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen.

Terror Bases Targeted in Punjab and PoK

The terror dens in Pakistan’s Punjab province and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were hit by the Armed forces at the crack of dawn on May 7, and over 100 terrorists were killed at nine different places.

The operations wiped out terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, from where terrorist activities against India were launched and coordinated.

India Foils Retaliatory Strikes From Pakistan

Following the first Indian raids, Islamabad attempted to hit India’s military bases several times until May 10, but they were deterred by India’s air defence systems.

In response, the Armed forces damaged a number of Pakistan’s military bases until an agreement was made between the two nations to end hostilities on May 10.

</excerpt>

In what has been dubbed India’s largest anti-Maoist operation, security forces eliminated 31 Maoists and reclaimed Karregutta Hill, a stronghold of insurgents on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The 21-day operation, carried out by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Chhattisgarh Police’s Special Task Force, and the District Reserve Guard, also resulted in the recovery of 450 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 40 weapons, large quantities of ammunition, and dismantling of multiple arms manufacturing units.

From Red Terror to National Pride

Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the operation as a major milestone in the government’s campaign to eliminate Maoism by March 2026. “The hill, once ruled by red terror, now proudly waves the tricolour,” Shah said. “This largest operation was completed by our security forces in just 21 days… and I am immensely delighted there was not a single casualty among forces in this operation.”

Describing the hill as the “unified headquarters” of major Maoist factions, Shah said it was where attack strategies were formed, weapons were developed, and cadres trained.

Massive Seizure of Explosives and Weaponry

Sources revealed that in addition to the Maoists killed, forces recovered detonators, explosive devices, 12,000 kg of logistical materials including medicines and electrical equipment, and dismantled four makeshift factories producing weapons, motors, and cutting tools.

CRPF chief General GP Singh said the Maoists killed had a collective bounty of ₹1.72 crore. He described the seizure of Karregutta as “the beginning of the end” for Maoism in the region. “What we set out to do… we have achieved more than that,” Singh said. “We are confident and happy — this is the beginning of the end, and we will achieve the target of eliminating Maoism by March 31, 2026.”

So far, 28 of the 31 Maoists killed have been identified, with many suspected to be part of the senior leadership.

Steep Decline in Maoist Presence Across India

Singh highlighted a significant decline in Maoist-affected districts — down from 35 in 2024 to just six now. He noted that nearly 1,000 Maoists surrendered last year, with 718 already doing so in 2025.

Last month, Amit Shah had urged Maoists to lay down arms and join the mainstream, pointing to numerous welfare schemes run by both the Centre and BJP-led state governments.

Operation Ground Zero

The operation to reclaim the infamous Karregutta Hill — dubbed the “Black Hill” — began on April 22. At 5,000 feet tall, the hill had long served as an impenetrable Maoist bastion, suspected to house Madavi Hidma, one of the most feared Maoist leaders, known for orchestrating several deadly attacks including those in Dantewada (2010) and Sukma (2017). It remains unclear whether Hidma was among those killed or captured.

Two of the hill’s three ridges fell quickly to advancing troops. However, Karregutta itself posed greater resistance until forces, airdropped in strategic positions, navigated hidden IEDs and rugged terrain to secure the site.

“The nation is proud of you,” Shah told the security forces, commending their bravery and strategic precision.

Chhattisgarh CM Praises Forces’ Bravery

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai also saluted the courage of the personnel. “This is the biggest anti-Maoist op in the country. I salute the courage of our forces, operating in scorching heat, rugged terrain, without shade or water,” he said.

With Karregutta reclaimed and insurgent leadership dealt a heavy blow, India’s fight against left-wing extremism has crossed a crucial milestone in its final push to eradicate the Maoist threat.

</excerpt>

In a key meeting with the Chief Ministers and Governors of Indian states bordering Pakistan and Nepal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the importance of maintaining uninterrupted access to essential goods and services. The directive comes under the nationwide security preparedness initiative Operation Sindoor.

Relief forces told to stay on high alert

In the meeting with the Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of border states adjoining Pakistan and Nepal held today, asked the states to maintain the availability of essential goods and services and to keep relief and rescue forces like the SDRF, Civil Defence, Home Guards,… pic.twitter.com/oxbZgZOJMa

Amit Shah instructed states to keep rescue and relief forces, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Defence, Home Guards, and National Cadet Corps (NCC) on standby. These forces are expected to respond quickly to any emergency or threat along the border regions.

Countering anti-national propaganda

The Home Minister also urged the states to monitor all media platforms, especially social media, and take swift action against any anti-national propaganda. Officials were told to maintain seamless communication and strong security measures at sensitive locations.

</excerpt>

Following India’s pinpoint strikes under Operation Sindoor, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an emergency high-level security meeting with Chief Ministers, DGPs, and Chief Secretaries of border states. The meeting today at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) seeks to review the changing national security scenario in the wake of India’s retaliatory strike.

High-Level Participation Expected

Chief Ministers, Directors General of Police (DGPs), and Chief Secretaries from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, and West Bengal will be there. The Lieutenant Governors of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will also be present at the deliberations.

The fact that the Centre is taking the prevailing geopolitical scenario so seriously is reflected in the urgency of calling the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to update President Droupadi Murmu on the goals and results of Operation Sindoor, India’s prompt reaction to the Pahalgam terror strike. The air strikes, sources said, had hit nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, giving a clear message against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and briefed her about #OperationSindoor pic.twitter.com/8EufmJNTos

Strategic Coordination Underway

This two-pronged action — the internal security review and the external diplomatic briefing — is reflective of India’s integrated approach to addressing cross-border terrorism. With tensions still running high, particularly along the northern and western borders, today’s deliberations may influence short-term preventive measures, such as increased surveillance and troops on alert.

As the course of events turns, the national government is unfaltering. “Hum sab ke liye garv ka pal hai,” PM Modi declared to his government, in commemoration of successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor. With the country observing keenly, today’s session may hold the key for India’s subsequent action towards its national security.

</excerpt>

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently gave an account of his own fitness regime and how he overcame medical issues, including diabetes. While addressing a function on World Liver Day at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), Shah stressed the need for a healthy lifestyle with daily physical exercise, good sleep, and a nutritious diet.

Amit Shah’s Fitness Regimen: 2 Hours of Exercise, 6 Hours of Sleep

Shah, looking at his transformation from May 2019, explained, “I have attained a very big change since May 2019 till date. With the right amount of sleep, pure water, food, and exercise, I have attained a lot in life. In the last 4.5 years, I have become free from all allopathic medicines.” He called on the young people to embrace a routine of two hours of exercise and six hours of sleep for enhanced well-being, observing that it had worked like magic for him.

Home Minister’s Health Suggestions for the Youth

“I ask all who are here to spend two hours of exercise for their body and six hours of sleep for their brain. This would be of great help. This is my personal experience,” Shah suggested, urging young people to make their health a priority.

New Liver Rehabilitation Centre Opened

Shah also opened an Integrated Liver Rehabilitation Centre at ILBS and acknowledged the institute’s continuous efforts. At the occasion, he thanked the ILBS director Dr. S Sareen for planning a cartoon gallery based on the theme of liver health, to which Shah also personally gave himself a thumbs up, including cartoons depicting him as well.

Government Initiatives for Public Health

The Home Minister highlighted several government programs, including Ujjwala Yojna, Khelo India, and Fit India, as crucial initiatives directly linked to the health and well-being of citizens. He also pointed out that the Union Budget had allocated Rs 1.27 lakh crore for health, a substantial increase from Rs 37,000 crore in 2014.

Event Attended by Delhi’s Top Officials

The occasion was also graced by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, making it a milestone event in the awareness of public health.

Sources disclosed that Home Minister Amit Shah made direct contact with all Chief Ministers and held discussions regarding the issue on Friday afternoon.

The order was issued after India said it was revoking all visas for Pakistani citizens as part of a wide-ranging diplomatic move in response to the terror strike that killed 26 individuals in Pahalgam. The attack, carried out on Tuesday at Baisaran Valley, involved five militants with automatic guns who attacked civilians, especially men, according to horrific visuals that were posted on social media. The assailants remain on the loose, and authorities have initiated a massive manhunt.

India Cancels Visas and Suspends Water Treaty in Retaliation

India’s move to cancel all visas for Pakistani citizens will take effect on April 27, except for long-term visas issued to Hindu citizens of Pakistan, which will be valid. Medical visas will be valid only for another 48 hours. These are part of a five-pronged counteroffensive by India after the Pahalgam attack.

India also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), a major water-sharing treaty between India and Pakistan. Suspension of the IWT, a crucial accord governing the use of the Indus River and its tributaries, has been strongly condemned by Pakistan, which has termed the suspension an “act of war.” Pakistan has suspended the Simla Agreement, which governs bilateral relations between the two nations, and shut its airspace to Indian airlines in retaliation.

Global Diplomacy and Pakistani Involvement

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri gave proof to senior diplomats of various countries, including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Russia, that Pakistan was involved in the planning and conducting of the attack. These diplomatic moves were made to garner international support and put pressure on Pakistan to own up to their actions in the attack.

Prime Minister Modi’s Strong Statement

After the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly asserted himself, turning to English during an event in Bihar in order to make a clear signal to the international community. He stated, “From the land of Bihar, I am saying to the world that India will find and punish every terrorist, and those responsible for them.”

Modi’s words were seconded by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who vowed a tough response to the perpetrators. “We will not only punish the beasts who committed this act of barbarianism and brutality, we will also track down those who hid behind a veil to execute this conspiracy,” Singh said at a function in Delhi.

All-Party Meeting and Next Steps

On Thursday, the Indian government convened an all-party meeting during which political parties were apprised of the situation. The meeting reiterated India’s resolve to punishing the perpetrators of the attack and safeguarding its borders against terror attacks.

The Pahalgam attack has been termed the worst since the Pulwama attack in February 2019, and the authorities are making efforts to break terrorist cells active in the area.

</excerpt>

Indian intelligence units had warned the government of an impending Pakistan-supported terrorist strike in Jammu and Kashmir, before the horrific Pahalgam attack on April 22 that left at least 26 dead. Sources uncovered that the alert had suggested Islamabad’s intentions for a “hot summer” in the state. As a precautionary measure, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan convened a security meeting in Jammu on March 10, followed by another important discussion on April 6 chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah in Srinagar.

Details of the Pahalgam Attack

The first investigation into the Pahalgam attack reveals that at least four terrorists, two of them foreign nationals, carried out the attack. Two home-grown militants, Aadil Thakur and Aasif Sheikh, were named as perpetrators and Suleman Shah and Abu Talha were named as foreign operatives, possibly Pashtun in origin. The attack was said to have been planned by Saifullah Kasuri, a top commander in the militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Existing Terror Threat in Jammu and Kashmir

Indian officials reported that there are about 70 foreign terrorists still active in the area, with some of them infiltrating through different routes. In March, an infiltration attempt foiled along the international border led to the killing of some of the militants. Intelligence reports, though, suggest that quite a number of the terrorists have infiltrated successfully into the area and are awaiting orders. With the melting of snow, some militants will likely use the hill routes for their operations.

Authorities Announce Crackdown and Search Operations

A cordon-and-search operation has been launched in Pahalgam to stop the terrorists from escaping, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is gearing up for a potential crackdown on local compatriots who might have supported the attackers.

</excerpt>

Hours following the murderous terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 28 were killed, Pakistan released a denial statement of any involvement. Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif disowned Islamabad for the attack, referring to the violence as “home-grown” and branding it as part of a wider rebellion against India.

Pakistan’s Counter-Response to the Pahalgam Attack

Talking to Pakistan’s Live 92 news channel, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan had “nothing to do” with the bloodshed in Pahalgam. He portrayed the attack as a response by local insurgents against the Indian government and not foreign intervention. Asif mentioned persistent unrest in some Indian states like Nagaland, Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur, labeling them as “local uprisings.”

We have absolutely nothing to do with it. We reject terrorism in all its forms and everywhere, says Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on the #Pahalgam attack.#pahalgamattack pic.twitter.com/qGiTz6uVOn

— Ghulam Abbas Shah (@ghulamabbasshah) April 23, 2025

“Pakistan has no connection with this. There are revolutions in so-called Indian states, from Nagaland to Kashmir, in Chhattisgarh, Manipur, and the south. These are not acts of foreign interference but local uprisings,” he said. Tis is home-grown as the government is exploiting many,” Asif said. He went on to add, “This is home-grown as the government is exploiting many.”

As Pakistan continued to distance itself from the assault, Asif reiterated that indigenous forces against the Indian government tend to result in international blame being leveled against Pakistan. “We do not support terrorism in any form, and locals should not be a target for terrorists, and we have no doubt about it,” he clarified.

Saifullah Sajid Jutt Identified as the Mastermind

In the meantime, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Saifullah Sajid Jutt, one of the leading Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commanders, as the mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack. Jutt, alias Saifullah Kasuri, is a resident of Shangamanga village in Pakistan’s Punjab province. The NIA has described him as a “hardcore terrorist” and established that he is currently functioning from a Lashkar-e-Taiba camp in Islamabad.

Reports suggest that Jutt’s role in the attack is in line with the modus operandi of past LeT operations, with the terror outfit suspected to be responsible for a string of high-profile attacks in the region. The NIA has initiated a manhunt to arrest Jutt and bring him to justice.

The fatal attack took place on Tuesday, when armed terrorists fired on a group of tourists at a popular meadow close to Pahalgam in south Kashmir. Terrorists killed two foreign nationals, one from Nepal and one from the UAE, among the 28 victims in the Pahalgam attack. In response, the Indian government has pledged to take tough action against the attackers and punish them accordingly.

</excerpt>

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday met with the victims’ families in the Pahalgam terror attack who were killed in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. His visit followed hours after he made floral tributes to the victims at the Police Control Room (PCR) alongside Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Amit Shah Consoles Grieving Families in Srinagar

He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to taking stringent action against the perpetrators of the fatal attack. The victims, who were primarily tourists, were killed in a cold-blooded attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, the worst attack in the area since the 2019 Pulwama disaster.

Support and Action Promised

Officials informed that the mortal remains of the victims were taken to the PCR in Srinagar at the early hours of Wednesday. Subsequently, Amit Shah, accompanied by LG Sinha and CM Abdullah, reached the scene and offered condolences to the departed. Shah thereafter went to meet the injured at GMC Anantnag to inquire about their well-being and show solidarity.

The Home Minister’s visit to the families and the injured is a demonstration of the Centre’s concern for both healing and justice after the attack.

The Resistance Front has claimed responsibility.
</excerpt>

At least 26 civilians, of whom the majority were tourists, were murdered in a gruesome terror strike in Pahalgam, the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. The attack, which occurred at the isolated Baisaran meadow, is the worst in the Valley since the Pulwama bombing in 2019.

Sources indicated that the terrorists fired at a group of tourists who were on a visit to Baisaran, a picturesque spot which can be accessed only on foot or by pony. The Resistance Front, a front organization of the outlawed Pakistan-based terror outfit LeT, took responsibility for the attack, though the government has not issued an official statement yet.

Amit Shah Offers Floral Tributes

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on his Srinagar visit, was filled with deep regret at the deaths of innocent people in the Pahalgam terror attack. He offered floral tributes to the victims at the Police Control Room (PCR) in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Shah reiterated the government’s resolve to ensure that those guilty of the ghastly act are brought to justice and ensured that such acts of terrorism would be confronted with a firm and decisive action.

Reports state that the mortal remains of the tourists who were killed in the attack were taken to the PCR in Srinagar earlier this morning. Amit Shah, accompanied by the LG and CM, soon afterwards paid his respects to the victims. Shah left for GMC Anantnag after the tribute ceremony, where he will meet and interact with the injured in the attack.

PM Modi Shortens Saudi Visit, Promises Revenge for Pahalgam Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who returned to India from Saudi Arabia immediately after hearing the news, denounced the attack in strong words. “Those responsible for this cowardly act will be punished and will not be spared,” PM Modi stated. Shortly after his return, he held an emergency meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at the Delhi airport.

The global community responded quickly. In particular, US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni strongly condemned the attack. Moreover, all three leaders expressed their support and solidarity with India at this critical juncture.

US-Based Techie Among the Victims

Among the victims was 40-year-old Bitan Adhikary, a TCS techie from Florida. Bitan, who had come to India on April 8 with his wife Sohini and three-year-old son, had intended to return to the US this Thursday. However, he was one of the victims gunned down in the Pahalgam attack. Thankfully, his wife and son were safe, and currently, efforts are on to bring them back home unharmed.

Security Forces Repel Infiltration Attempt Post-Incident at Pahalgam

Days after the Pahalgam attack, Indian security forces thwarted a bid by terrorists to infiltrate in Baramulla district. Two to three terrorists attempted to cross over via the Uri Nala sector, the Army’s Chinar Corps said. “Alert troops challenged and intercepted the infiltrators,” added the Corps, stating that a gun battle broke out, leading to the neutralization of two terrorists.

A huge amount of weapons, ammunition, and other war-like stores have been recovered from the terrorists,” it further added. The operation is still in progress.

Emergency Helplines Activated

The high-level meeting, which is likely to have top officials from the Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other central agencies, will evaluate the prevailing security situation in the Valley, especially in tourist areas such as Pahalgam, where the attack took place. The Resistance Front (TRF), the Pakistan-sponsored proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the attack targeting Hindu tourists in the popular Baisaran valley.

Amit Shah to Visit Hospitals, Meet Security Forces

Sources say Shah will also go to the hospital where the wounded are being treated and interact with security personnel deployed in the area. The visit is the Centre’s quick response to what is being termed as one of the most lethal attacks on civilians in years. The Home Minister had previously presided over a virtual meeting with senior intelligence and security officials to oversee the immediate response and discuss actionable intelligence.

“Innocent Blood Will Be Avenged,” Says Amit Shah

On X (formerly Twitter), Amit Shah posted, “Deeply anguished by the Pahalgam attack. I have spoken to senior security officials and will personally review the situation in Srinagar. Every drop of innocent blood will be avenged. Terrorists and their handlers will face the consequences.”

J&K Leadership Assures Full Support

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has denounced the attack in strongest possible words, described it as an “abomination” and promised that the state government would work in close coordination with central agencies to regain the confidence of citizens and tourists.

As Kashmir struggles to come to terms with the horror of the massacre, Amit Shah’s arrival also heralds an increased thrust for counter-terror operations, coupled with a rigorous review of the security infrastructure that exists, especially in non-local tourist-infested areas. The political and security establishment as a whole is unanimous in its determination to squash the perpetrators of violence and avert such incidents in the future.

He also criticized the Opposition for spreading fear about the bill.
</excerpt>

Union home minister Amit Shah stirred a debate in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday by recalling Lalu Prasad Yadav’s 2013 speech on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Shah claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now implementing the stricter laws that Lalu had once demanded.

Lalu Prasad’s 2013 Speech Resurfaces

Participating in the discussion on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Amit Shah criticized the Congress-led UPA II government for passing amendments in 2013, which he said led to unnecessary complications.

Shah quoted Lalu Prasad’s 2013 speech, in which the RJD leader had demanded strict laws against illegal land dealings involving Waqf properties. “Most of the land has been grabbed, be it government-owned or otherwise. The Waqf Board has sold prime land. We support amendments but need a stricter law in the future,” Lalu had said.

Modi Government Delivering on Lalu’s Demands, Says Shah

Taking a dig at the Opposition, Shah said, “Lalu Prasad’s wishes were not fulfilled by them, but Narendra Modi is doing it now.” He accused the Opposition of failing to act on Waqf land misuse when they had the chance.

Opposition Accused of Fear-Mongering

Amit Shah also slammed the Opposition for allegedly spreading misinformation about the bill. He clarified that “No non-Muslim will be part of Waqf management. There is no provision to interfere in religious practices or donated properties.”

He further accused the Opposition of “intimidating minorities” by spreading false narratives about the bill’s impact.

A Divisive Debate in Lok Sabha

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, has sparked heated exchanges in Parliament. While the BJP calls it a step toward transparency and accountability, critics, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, argue that the bill serves a divisive political agenda.

With the debate intensifying, the Modi government remains firm on its stance that the amendments align with past demands for stricter regulations on Waqf land management.

The force’s significant contributions include securing critical infrastructure, saving lives, and expanding its capabilities. Modern technology, welfare initiatives, and recruitment boosts are central to its evolving role.
</excerpt>

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will celebrate its 56th Raising Day on March 7, 2025, at its Rajadithya Chozhan Regional Training Centre in Thakkolam, Tamil Nadu. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend as the chief guest, where he will address CISF personnel and inaugurate several new infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the force’s operational preparedness and welfare facilities.
The CISF, raised in 1969, has evolved into one of India’s most critical security forces. It provides security to 359 strategic installations across the country, including airports, metro networks, power plants, ports, nuclear facilities, and key government buildings. The force, now nearly two lakh strong, also secures individuals under threat through its Special Security Group, which protects over 150 persons.

In 2024, the CISF was responsible for securing the movement of nearly one crore people every day, spread across airports, the Delhi Metro, and various industrial and infrastructure sites. A remarkable 75 percent of its units reported zero crime over the past year, underscoring its reputation for effective security management.

Beyond its core duties, CISF personnel saved over 100 lives in 2024, responding to medical emergencies, fires, and suicide attempts. One such incident occurred in December, when personnel from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Mumbai Port Authority units rescued around 60 passengers, including children, after a collision between boats near Mumbai’s Gateway of India. CISF teams performed CPR, pulled victims from the water, and stabilized many of them before medical help arrived.

The Delhi Metro unit alone located 200 missing children in 2024 and reunited them with their families or child welfare authorities. CISF teams also assisted 481 women in distress during their journeys.

The CISF Fire Wing, with nearly 9,000 personnel, saved property worth over ₹1,000 crore in various fire incidents. Meanwhile, the force’s expertise in security consultancy continues to grow. Since 1999, CISF has provided consultancy services to 238 establishments, including Infosys, the Reserve Bank of India, AIIMS Delhi, and the Shri Ram Janmbhumi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya.

The force expanded significantly in 2024, with new deployments at Parliament House Complex in Delhi, Ayodhya Airport, Beas Satluj Link Project in Himachal Pradesh, Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar, and NTPC Coal Mining Project in Jharkhand. Inductions at Tuticorin and Vijayawada airports are under consideration.

Recruitment saw a major boost, with over 31,000 personnel being added across ranks. The CISF is also forming its first all-women battalion, focused on internal security duties. The Ministry of Home Affairs has further sanctioned two new battalions, raising the total number to 15.

Modern technology is now central to CISF’s operations. A dedicated drone and anti-drone training center has been set up in Rajasthan, while airports under CISF watch are being equipped with full-body scanners, AI-driven video analytics, and enhanced cybersecurity. A dog breeding center is also being established to meet the force’s growing need for highly trained K9 units.

Personnel welfare has received special attention. CISF introduced choice-based postings, allowing personnel with more than 10 years of service to list preferred locations, with special provisions for women, couples, and those nearing retirement. In 2024, CISF reported a suicide rate of 9.87 per lakh, significantly lower than the national average of 12.4 per lakh.

Family accommodation, a longstanding concern, is being addressed through new housing projects. In 2024, 701 residential quarters were acquired in Delhi, while 33 new housing projects worth ₹193 crore were approved. Another ₹875 crore worth of housing projects are under construction, with more in the pipeline.

On the health front, CISF is promoting millet-based meals and free daily honey to personnel in nearly 300 units. Yoga training has been institutionalized across the force, with at least one yoga trainer at every unit. Green energy is also a priority, with solar power installations being expanded across 16 CISF campuses under a new partnership with NTPC.

In sports, CISF personnel won 120 medals in 2024, including international, national, and All India Police Games competitions. To prepare for the 2036 Olympics, 300 young sportspersons will be recruited in 2025. A dedicated women’s hockey team is also being formed, and a new Regional Sports Centre in Hyderabad will focus on badminton, fencing, cycling, and lawn tennis. Preparations are in full swing for the World Police and Fire Games 2025 in Birmingham, USA.

CISF is also building specialized teams in cyber security, aviation security, and port security. Its new Internal Quality Control Unit for Aviation Security will ensure compliance with international standards at airports. The force has also developed a security roadmap for India’s ports, aligning with global maritime protocols, and will offer training to private security personnel deployed at ports.

Training programs for new recruits and serving personnel are being updated with new modules on aviation security, drone operations, cyber security, and legal frameworks. Under the ongoing modernization plan, CISF is acquiring advanced equipment such as portable X-ray scanners, containerized shooting ranges, bomb disposal tools, and surveillance drones. By 2030, the force plans to invest ₹819 crore in new technologies and infrastructure.

As part of the Raising Day celebrations, CISF will flag off a 6,553 km coastal cyclothon spanning the entire Indian coastline, starting from Lakhpat in Gujarat and Bakkhali in West Bengal, culminating at Kanyakumari on March 31. The Arakkonam training center will be renamed Rajadithya Chozhan RTC in a formal ceremony.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai ahead of the event, CISF Director General Rajwinder Singh Bhatti emphasized the force’s evolving role in securing critical infrastructure and its growing reliance on technology, professional expertise, and innovation to meet emerging threats.

</excerpt>

New Delhi: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a two-nation visit to France and the United States, Home Minister Amit Shah has been leading the discussions with various stakeholders to decide who is best suited for the post of the chief minister of Delhi.

While electorally, Delhi is relatively a small state with a 70-member Legislative Assembly and seven Lok Sabha MPs, its significance, politically, lies in the fact that it is the national capital, the seat of power. Being in power in Delhi carries significant symbolic value across the country.

It is due to these considerations, and the fact that the BJP has won in Delhi almost after three decades, that Shah, who is the most trusted associate of PM Modi, is meeting various people and taking inputs from multiple functionaries before shortlisting the most suitable among his 48 party MLAs for the post of chief minister.

Both Modi and Shah have a clear idea of how they want to transform Delhi and make it a global capital, which will include beautifying the Yamuna riverfront, curbing pollution, handling vehicle traffic, and investing massively in Delhi’s infrastructure.

For this, they need someone who understands Delhi, can bring people together, is grounded and has the ability to execute big projects within set deadlines. What the BJP will achieve in Delhi in the coming next year will define the party’s perception in the coming decades.

Shah, who, just like Modi, follows a work style of giving a timeline by which he expects the project to be completed or the objective to be achieved, requires individuals and officials who can work under tight deadlines without excuses. He knows that people and the media will expect quick results and hence cannot leave the things to politically immature and overly ambitious leaders.

Some years ago, during a meeting involving senior party leaders of an Eastern state where elections were about to begin, a few top leaders raised the issues and problems they were facing. Shah told them that being from the state, they should have been aware of the solution to the problem rather than asking him for suggestions on how to resolve it.

After this, Shah went on to tell them how the problem can be resolved. The fact that Shah enjoys the complete confidence of PM Modi allows him to move ahead with confidence and even take decisions that are often considered bold and unexpected.

In all the recent elections where the BJP won, Shah, on the advice of Modi, had chosen relatively unknown faces for the post of CM. This approach is attributed to his own long and laborious stint in the BJP, where he rose from the bottom, gaining the ability to separate the proverbial wheat from the chaff.

Shah rarely gets impacted or influenced by lobbying or pressure from prospective candidates and always prioritises the long-term benefit that the decision will bring for the party. This quality was recognised by Modi very early in his political career.

Ever since the party came to power by winning the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Shah has been at the centre of all decisions, alongside PM Modi. The selection for Delhi’s CM is no different.

Shah’s Chanakya Strategy Leaves Opposition in the Lurch: Smart Management Turns the Tables in Delhi

<excerpt>Amit Shah’s meticulous strategies in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi showcased his political brilliance, leading to significant BJP victories. His attention to detail, including booth management and candidate selection, proved highly effective. Now, his focus shifts to Bihar for the next phase of his strategy.
</excerpt>

New Delhi: Union Minister Amit Shah, often referred to as the political “Chanakya” of India, is known for his sharp thinking, strategic planning, and execution. His focus is entirely on the success of his party, working tirelessly day and night to craft subtle strategies that the opposition often fails to notice. Shah has skillfully designed political moves to outmaneuver opponents in multiple states, including Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi. His clever and well-planned tactics have made him a formidable force, making it extremely difficult for the opposition to challenge his influence and political acumen.

During the Haryana election, which appeared to be the most challenging, Amit Shah took full control of the situation. He managed everything, from devising the election strategy to distributing tickets, making decisions that turned the tide in favor of the BJP. While Congress blamed the EVMs for their defeat, the real truth was that they had realized a week before the vote that they were losing. After securing Haryana, Shah quickly shifted his focus to Maharashtra and created such a strategy that even Sharad Pawar, a seasoned political leader, was defeated. Pawar’s party faced a crushing loss that he had never anticipated. Shah had directly targeted Pawar in his first campaign, signaling that only the BJP would win. Uddhav Thackeray, who had sided with Pawar to play the sympathy card, was also shocked by the results. Shah’s strategies proved successful in Maharashtra and were similarly applied to the Delhi elections, which many thought would be difficult for the BJP. His careful planning and execution helped the party maintain a strong hold across multiple states.

Congress is wearing façade of happiness which appears unnecessary after the defeat of AAP. Congress sems to be oblivion of the fact that had Congress allied with AAP, the outcome would have likely been the same, with similar results for both parties. Talking about the strategy devised by the ‘Chanakya’; Amit Shah, often called as a political mastermind, devised a comprehensive strategy for the Delhi elections, adapting his approach based on the nature of the contest. Once it was clear that the election would be a triangular fight, Shah adjusted his tactics accordingly. He first focused on the slums, mobilizing support through the Sangh and personally addressing a slum conference. Next, he turned his attention to women, replicating the successful strategy used in the 2020 Bihar elections, offering guarantees to attract their votes. Issues such as poor infrastructure, dilapidated roads, and dirty lanes were highlighted to resonate with the voters.

Prime Minister Modi’s “Aap Da” campaign slogan played a significant role in connecting with the people. Shah also made sure to directly communicate with booth-level workers, a key strength of the BJP. Booth management, considered the party’s biggest asset, was carefully overseen by Shah, who is regarded as an expert in this area. In contrast, opposition parties treated booth management as a mere formality.

If the equation of ticket distribution is analyzed thoroughly, Shah made strategic decisions based on Meticulous inspection of each constituency. For instance, he chose Pravesh Verma for New Delhi, Kapil Mishra for Karawal Nagar, and Mohan Singh Bisht for Mustafabad. These decisions were surprising but effective. Verma, initially seeking a ticket from Outer Delhi, agreed to contest New Delhi on Shah’s advice. Similarly, Bisht was fielded in a Muslim-dominated area, where Shah’s strategy aimed to unite Hindus and secure a win. His overall approach in both campaigning and strategy proved to be highly effective.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was made the face but at the same time such a strategy was made that the election was run on issues only. As far as campaigning is concerned, Prime Minister Modi was the most prominent star campaigner but the way Home Minister Shah used his team made the victory easier. From Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to all the Chief Ministers, responsibility was given according to the seats.

In the election strategy, each leader was assigned responsibility for influencing voters in specific constituencies. For example, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami campaigned in areas related to Uttarakhand, while former CM Ramesh Chandra Pokhriyal was in charge of managing multiple seats, including New Delhi. The Jat-dominated seats in outer Delhi were overseen by Haryana in-charge Satish Poonia. Amit Shah closely monitored the management of each seat, ensuring everything was on track. In terms of campaigning, Shah personally attended 12 public meetings and four road shows, actively campaigning on 16 seats. Out of these, the BJP won 14, with only Kalkaji and Badarpur remaining out of their reach. This success further solidified Shah’s reputation as a master strategist.

Shah earned the title of “Chanakya of politics” not just by his presence but by his behind-the-scenes work. While he remained out of the spotlight during the 2014 general election, he was the key strategist. His leadership during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections demonstrated his political brilliance, leading the BJP to a landslide victory. Shah’s strategy played a crucial role in the success of the 2019 general election and various state elections afterward. In the 2024 general election, the opposition’s confused campaign and overconfidence hurt them, while Shah took command in all states, making strategic decisions with the party’s organization.

Now, Amit Shah’s focus is on Bihar, where he has already started touring. Once the election of the new national president is completed, Bihar will become his primary target for the next phase of his political strategy.

</excerpt>

At the launch of “Indian Renaissance: The Modi Decade”, edited by Dr. Aishwarya Pandit, chairperson of the ITV Foundation and associate professor at Jindal Global Law School, Union Home Minister hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling his term a momentous and a turning point in India’s history post 1947. He emphasized that when India’s history would be written, PM Modi’s name would be written in ‘golden words’- even by his critics.

Reflecting on the 2014 electoral victory, the home minister highlighted how the BJP won from all corners of the history, from Ladakh, to Kanyakumari to Assam. He stated that while India gained independence from the British Raj in 1947, true freedom from colonial influence was realized only in 2014. Praising India’s inclusivity and acceptance of other cultures, languages and people, he said how communities like Parsis integrated seamlessly and contributed significantly to the nation.

Underscoring numerous developments in the last one decade under PM Modi’s era, Shah cited achievements in multiple sectors including in infrastructure, economy, defense and others. Talking about the Covid period, he laudes India’s exemplary handling of Covid pandemic, ensuring vaccination to 130 crores citizen and minimizing losses. Modi, he said, turned development into a mass movement, giving the country a clear direction.

Discussing Modi’s personal struggle and long journey, Shah recalled knowing him since the 1980s as an RSS worker who traveled by bike and bus, eating with the poor. He credited Modi for raising the issues of sanitation and credited him for bringing toilets, health insurance, and free ration to 60 crore people—something previous governments failed to do. He attributes this to Modi’s grassroot connections, unlike past leaders.

Shah also highlighted major milestones such as the abrogation of Article 370, the rise in tourism in Kashmir, and ISRO’s achievements. He asserted that Modi has ended dynastic politics, casteism, and polarization, leading India toward a brighter future.

This visit is notably meaningful as it marked the first time Shah was accompanied by his son Jay Shah’s son, giving ample expression to the beauty of generational connect at the sacred event in Maha Kumbh.

His son, Jay Shah, who is the current chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), became a father at the end of last year. Jay Shah also has two daughters.

Shah’s Kumbh Journey

This is the second instance where Amit Shah has been photographed with his grandson. The first was when this year’s Makar Sankranti arrived, and Shah visited Ahmedabad. He performed prayers at Jagannath Temple and even went on to do a ritual with Jay Shah’s son. He also said a few words to his son, an incident that got many talking.

Notably, Shah said he has immersed himself in the Kumbh nine times before. This year marks his 10th time for him to do the sacred ritual and cements him into the Kumbh event. His constant participation in the Kumbh symbolizes his allegiance to the practices of Sanatan Dharma.

</excerpt>

Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, unleashed a bitter attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Police for supposedly diluting the law and order situation in the city on January 22, 2025. According to Kejriwal, Amit Shah has taken control of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign, and that the law enforcement machinery of Delhi was abetting it.

Delhi Police Allegedly Deployed for BJP Campaign

Arvind Kejriwal said, “Amit Shah has taken charge of the BJP’s election campaign, and the entire Delhi Police force has been pulled out from enforcing law and order in the city. Instead, they are now working to push BJP’s agenda.” The Delhi Chief Minister further accused that police officers are stationed at key election campaign spots to ensure that voters get incentives such as money and sarees, which are being distributed by BJP workers.

दिल्ली चुनाव में इनकी धोखाधड़ी से बात नहीं बनी तो अब बीजेपी खुलेआम गुंडागर्दी पर उतर आई है। https://t.co/4VPlkdzm16

According to Kejriwal, the police’s involvement in these activities marks a grave collapse of the National Capital’s law and order situation. He noted that instead of upholding public order, the Delhi Police is being used as a tool for the BJP’s political gain.

Police Allegedly Disrupting AAP Events

Kejriwal has also mentioned that SHOs who are the station house officers, in charge of local police stations, have privately told him that they are receiving instructions from MHA to scuttle the meetings. “Police bring the goons from BJP to attend these programs and let them commit hooliganism”, he alleged with this charge pointing toward the use of law enforcement as an instrument to foment trouble at the AAP gathering sites.

Intimidation and Fear Tactics Against AAP Supporters

In his press statements, Kejriwal underlined the sense of fear that has gripped the city. He charged Delhi Police with threats to AAP workers and supporters to deter them from supporting the party. “An atmosphere of fear has been deliberately created to dissuade people from voting for AAP,” he claimed.

The AAP leader stated his reservations about the coming election, fearing that he said the voters may be stopped from casting their ballots on the day of the polls. “I am scared that on the day of polling, they will not let people vote,” Kejriwal added while demanding a transparent and fair process of the election.

The elections being close, AAP and BJP continue to flare up against each other by leveling charges of unfair practices and interference.

The Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) has now been extended to seven more airports. On January 16, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the service at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Cochin airports. This launch took place from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Convenient Immigration Process for Registered Travelers

Following the launch, Shah shared on X that the programme would allow registered citizens and OCI cardholders to bypass airport queues. Instead, they can quickly clear immigration by scanning their passports and boarding passes at e-gates. This makes the process far more convenient and efficient for travelers.

The Modi govt is committed to making international travel easier and hassle-free for our citizens and OCI cardholders.
Previous Launch and Future Plans

Previously, the initiative was introduced at Terminal 3 of New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in June 2024. Looking ahead, the government plans to expand FTI-TTP to 13 additional major airports across the country.

What is FTI-TTP?

FTI-TTP aims to streamline the immigration process for international travelers. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the programme is designed to provide “world-class immigration facilities,” ensuring that international travel becomes both smoother and more secure.

Free Service for Indian Citizens and OCI Cardholders

Importantly, the service is currently free for Indian citizens and OCI passengers arriving from abroad. This initiative removes any financial barrier for eligible travelers, further promoting ease of travel.

A Step Towards ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ Vision

Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs highlights that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the programme is a significant step towards realizing the ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ vision.

Seamless Travel Experience for Passengers

In addition, a senior official from the Ministry of Home Affairs previously stated, “India is becoming an international hub. This programme ensures a smooth and effortless travel experience. Eligible passengers can now bypass regular immigration queues and use automated e-gates instead.” This reinforces the programme’s goal of making international travel more efficient.

The ongoing political rivalry between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) escalated on Tuesday with the release of a provocative poster by AAP. The poster targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah, mocking him as a “Chunavi (electoral) Musalman,” in a direct challenge to the BJP’s controversial rhetoric surrounding Muslims during election campaigns.

AAP’s Sarcastic Attack on Amit Shah

The poster, filled with subtle jabs and sarcasm, depicted Shah wearing a Kashmiri woollen cap with the iconic Jama Masjid in the background. The text on the poster referred to Shah as the “director” of a fictional film featuring terms like “Rohingyas,” “Bangladeshi,” “Maulvi,” “Maulana,” and “Imam,” among others. The producer of this supposed film was named “Lootus Productions,” a clear reference to the BJP’s party symbol, the lotus.

The bold text on the poster questioned, “Have you ever wondered why the BJP remembers Muslims only during elections?” This attack comes amid ongoing allegations from both parties regarding the issue of Rohingya Muslim and Bangladeshi refugee settlements in Delhi.

Accusations of Exploiting Refugees for Votes

The AAP has long accused the BJP of settling Rohingya refugees in Delhi while publicly criticising them. AAP officials have alleged that the BJP exploits the issue for political gain, accusing them of using the refugee population to increase their vote bank in the capital.

On the other hand, the BJP has responded by accusing the AAP of aiding the settlement of illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, providing them with official documents, and manipulating the situation to create a loyal voter base.

BJP Strikes Back: ‘Chunavi Hindu’ Poster Targeting Kejriwal

The poster targeting Amit Shah is just the latest in a series of tit-for-tat attacks between the two parties. In recent days, the BJP released a controversial poster branding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a “chunavi (electoral) Hindu.” The poster depicted Kejriwal in a priest-like avatar, wearing rudraksha beads and vermilion, mocking his promise of Rs 18,000 monthly compensation to temple priests and gurdwara granthis ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections.

In addition to the “chunavi Hindu” poster, the BJP has also targeted Kejriwal with other inflammatory messages. One such poster referred to him as a “chaliya naag” (deceptive snake), accusing him of misleading the elderly and women in Delhi with his welfare schemes.

Allegations of Voter List Tampering

The BJP further escalated its attack on AAP by releasing a poster titled “Voter List Me Scam 2024,” drawing inspiration from the popular web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. This poster accused the AAP of manipulating Delhi’s voter list in order to gain an unfair advantage in the upcoming elections.

Tensions Escalate as Election Nears

As Delhi heads towards its election season, the political battle between the BJP and AAP is intensifying. Both parties continue to engage in bitter attacks through posters and public statements, each accusing the other of playing politics with sensitive issues like religion and refugee settlements.

With the election just around the corner, these inflammatory campaigns are expected to dominate the political discourse in the capital, setting the stage for a fierce battle between the ruling party and the opposition.

</excerpt>

Notwithstanding the economic issues faced by it back home, the Pakistan Army is fully backing the terrorist infrastructure as 60 per cent of terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir this year were Pakistanis.

The local recruitment of terrorists in the Pakistan-sponsored terror groups ia also very low as only four locals have joined these groups this year, Army officials said.

In different encounters and operations, the security has been able to eliminate around 75 terrorists in different regions of the state including the Jammu region and the Kashmir valley along with the firefights that take place during infiltration attempts by terrorists on the Line of Control, they said.

Notably, Pakistan has traditionally been seen as one of the biggest hubs for exporting terrorists to almost all parts of the world with a main focus on India.

Islamabad has tried to give a strong push to terrorism in the Jammu region since last year but the activities of the Pakistani terrorists in this area of Jammu region including districts in Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua and Reasi govern been curbed with additional deployment of troops and filling up of the vacuum created thereafter withdrawal of the Uniform Force of Rashtriya Rifles from there for the China border deployments.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati has announced plans for a nationwide protest on December 24 in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s controversial comments about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution. Mayawati expressed that Shah’s remarks have deeply offended many people across the country.

Mayawati Criticizes Shah’s Disrespect for Ambedkar

In a series of posts on X, Mayawati said that Shah’s comments have hurt the sentiments of millions. She emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar, who created the Constitution to protect the rights and dignity of Dalits, marginalized communities, and others, is revered almost like a deity in India. Mayawati stated, “Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the author of the original book in the form of the super-humanistic and welfare constitution for the self-respect and human rights of the Dalits, deprived and other neglected people of the country, is as revered as God. His disrespect by Amit Shah hurts the hearts of the people.”

Mayawati Demands an Apology

Mayawati called on Amit Shah to take back his statement and apologize. She said, “People from all sections of society in the country are quite agitated, angry by the words spoken by him in the Parliament regarding such a great man. Ambedkarite BSP has demanded him to take back his statement and repent, which has not been implemented till now.”

BSP Plans Peaceful Nationwide Protest

In light of Shah’s refusal to retract his comments, Mayawati announced that the BSP would hold a peaceful protest across India on December 24. “In such a situation, if the demand is not met, then BSP has talked about raising voice across the country. That is why now the party has decided to hold a nationwide movement on December 24 in support of this demand. On that day, a completely peaceful dharna demonstration will be held at all the district headquarters of the country,” she added.

BSP’s Dedication to Ambedkar’s Legacy

Mayawati reiterated her party’s commitment to preserving the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, who fought for the rights of Dalits and Bahujans, securing legal protections including reservations. “Therefore, if Congress, BJP etc., cannot respect Baba Saheb from their heart, then they should not disrespect him either. The day SC, ST and OBC classes got legal rights in the Constitution due to Baba Saheb, they also got heaven for seven lives,” she remarked.

Shah’s Controversial Statement Sparks Protests

The controversy began when Amit Shah made a statement in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, saying, “If they (opposition) had taken the name of God so many times instead of Ambedkar, they would have got heaven for seven lives.”

Opposition MPs Protest in Parliament

Following Shah’s remarks, members of the INDIA alliance, led by Rahul Gandhi, protested in the Parliament complex on Thursday, demanding an apology and Shah’s resignation. A scuffle broke out during the protest, resulting in injuries to two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput. Both sides accused each other of pushing their members. The Delhi police have filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi regarding the incident.

Tensions ran high during the demonstration, resulting in a scuffle between the protesters and the police. Large numbers of officers were deployed to ensure law and order was maintained. BJYM district president Yogendra Singh was vocal in his criticism, warning that Rahul Gandhi would not be allowed to enter Jabalpur following his remarks.

Strong Reaction Against Congress Leadership

Singh condemned the Congress leader’s comments, accusing the party of disrespecting not only BJP leaders but also its supporters and workers. He stated that such behavioUr would no longer be tolerated and that the BJP youth wing would respond strongly to future provocations from the Congress.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal took a sharp dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his comments on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar during a parliamentary session. Kejriwal accused Shah and the BJP of disrespecting Ambedkar and displaying arrogance.

“See how Amit Shah ji is making fun of Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the parliament. These BJP people have become so arrogant that they don’t consider anyone as anything. Yes, Amit Shah ji. Baba Saheb is no less than God for every child of this country. I don’t know about heaven after death, but if Baba Saheb’s constitution was not there, you people would not have allowed the oppressed, downtrodden, poor, and Dalits to live on this earth. India will not tolerate Babasaheb’s insult. Jai Bhim,” Kejriwal declared on X.

“For the last ten years since Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi, he has worked for the common man of Delhi. In the history of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is the only leader who has worked for the poor people of Delhi,” Atishi said.

She highlighted that the government schools now offer better facilities than many private institutions, showcasing AAP’s commitment to public welfare.

Gangs and gangsters are now active, demanding ransom money for protection,” Bhardwaj said.
</excerpt>

Recently, the Delhi government, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been targetting the the Bharatiya Janata Party for rising crimes in Delhi. On Monday, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital, stating that gangs and gangsters have become increasingly active, demanding ransom money for protection.

According to Bhardwaj this situation in Delhi is unprecedented. He remarked that nowadays, a woman cannot even walk in her own colony, and a person cannot park their vehicle outside their house without fearing theft.

The minister emphasised that this issue affects the public directly and that residents of Delhi expect an explanation from the Union Home Minister.

“Today in Delhi, a woman holding a phone in her hand cannot walk in her colony without fearing it will be snatched. A person cannot park their vehicle outside their house without worrying it will be stolen. Delhi has moved beyond petty crimes. Gangs and gangsters are now active, demanding ransom money for protection,” Bhardwaj said.

“This is unprecedented in Delhi. This is not an election issue but a public concern, and the people of Delhi demand answers from the Union Home Minister,” he added.

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Manish Sisodia also criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its handling of law and order in Delhi.

Sisodia noted that while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had successfully addressed key issues such as schools, electricity, and hospitals, the law and order situation under Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership had deteriorated.

“The people of Delhi entrusted Kejriwal ji with responsibilities such as improving schools, electricity, and hospitals. He delivered–government hospitals are better, there is a 24-hour power supply, zero electricity bills, and government schools are performing fantastically. On the other hand, the responsibility for law and order was given to Amit Shah and the BJP,” Sisodia said.

“But what has happened under his watch? Law and order have worsened–murders and shootouts are taking place. People feel that Amit Shah is unable to handle the situation,” he added.

Also read: Two Groups Clash In Gurugram, Car Set On Fire| Video

Sisodia further claimed that the people of Delhi are increasingly frustrated with the BJP’s failure to address these issues. “In this election, the people are sending a warning to Amit Shah–either improve law and order, or they will know how to address it themselves,” he added.
