Only Bomb Capable of Striking Iran’s Deep Nuclear Facilities

<excerpt>As Iran-Israel tensions escalate, experts highlight the U.S.-built GBU-57 as the only bomb capable of reaching Iran’s fortified Fordo nuclear site. The 30,000-pound weapon can penetrate 200 feet underground and is deployable only by the U.S. B-2 stealth bomber.
</excerpt>

As the rhetoric heats up between Israel and Iran, eyes have fallen on the GBU-57, a high-powered U.S.-designed bunker-buster bomb that the experts claim is the sole conventional weapon with the capability to penetrate to and destroy Iran’s deeply buried nuclear facilities like Fordo.

With a weight of 30,000 pounds (13,607 kg), the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator is designed to penetrate up to 200 feet (61 metres) underground before exploding. Even though Israel has pledged to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons, the sophisticated bomb is not in its inventory.

Reports say that the United States’ former President Donald Trump is weighing whether America should intervene in the current conflict between Iran and Israel. There was a recent National Security Council meeting where officials debated a possible strike on Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility, a buried enrichment facility where uranium is enriched.

Addressing the G7 Summit in Canada, Trump announced, ‘Iran will not win’ in this battle and called on Tehran to come back to the negotiating table ‘before it’s too late’.

Why Only the GBU-57 Can Reach Fordo

Though recent Israeli attacks have struck some Iranian military assets, analysts consider Fordo to be unscathed because of the extreme depth. “All eyes will be on Fordo, buried under roughly 300 feet of rock in central Iran,” said Behnam Ben Taleblu, director of the Iran program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD).

He went on to say, “In less than a week, the regime’s missile inventories, launchers, bases, production sites, nuclear experts, military command and control has been very severely battered.” Nevertheless, he said that doubts persist regarding how potent Israel’s attacks have been against the essence of Iran’s nuclear program.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified Fordo was not damaged. Unlike other sites like Natanz or Isfahan, Fordo’s rock shielding renders it resistant to routine airstrikes.

Mark Schwartz, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general and Rand Corporation researcher, remarked, “Only the United States has the conventional capacity” to obliterate Fordo. He explained that by this capacity he meant specifically the GBU-57 bomb.

What Sets the GBU-57 Apart

The GBU-57, or Massive Ordnance Penetrator, is unique in that it can penetrate hard rock and fortified buildings. As reported by the U.S. military, the bomb burrows as deep as 200 feet before detonating—making it the perfect tool for destroying underground installations.

Masao Dahlgren, a missile defense analyst with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), described, “In order to engage these deeply buried targets, these weapons must be hardened with relatively heavy steel casings of hardened steel to essentially blast through these layers of rock.

The 6.6-metre bomb also features a dedicated delayed-action fuse. “You have to have an explosive that won’t detonate right away under that kind of shock and pressure,” Dahlgren said.

The GBU-57 was in development in the early 2000s, and Boeing was contracted to deliver 20 units in 2009.

Just One Aircraft Can Carry the GBU-57

At the moment, only the American B-2 stealth bomber can carry the GBU-57. Satellite photos from Planet Labs showed that B-2s were deployed at the UK-US base in Diego Garcia in early May, though they were ‘no longer visible by mid-June’, AFP reported.

Dahlgren said, “With their range, B-2s flying out of the United States can go all the way to the Middle East to make bombing runs. That’s been done before.

Two GBU-57s can be carried on each B-2 bomber, and it may take more than one bomb to achieve maximum impact. Military strategist Peter Schwartz noted that, with current Israeli air superiority over Iran, “They’re not going to just be one and done,” so it makes it more practical for U.S. bombers to get to Fordo and strike multiple times.

Briefly, the GBU-57 is the sole conventional weapon with the depth-penetration capability to hit Iran’s most heavily defended nuclear installation, placing it in the middle of future military planning should the United States opt to intervene.

</excerpt>

Midwifery is defined as the “skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate care for childbearing women, newborn infants, and families across the continuum from prepregnancy, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the early weeks of life.”

Evidence shows that midwifery, when provided by an educated, trained, and licensed midwife, is associated with improved quality of care and reduced maternal and newborn mortality.

Whether you’re considering becoming a midwife through a DNP midwifery program or you’re planning a family, it’s essential to understand the importance of a midwife. They play an important role in family planning and providing support before conception to postnatal.

This article will explore the profession and its role in reducing maternal and newborn mortality rates—which America is currently facing a crisis with. Data has found 80% of maternal deaths are preventable with the right care, provided through a midwife.

The vital role of midwives

Midwives are healthcare providers that specialize in pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, and postpartum health. Depending on where they work and their credentials, midwives can provide a range of health services, including (but not limited to):

Attending to birth and newborn care

Postpartum care (immediately after childbirth and generally 6-8 weeks later)

Pap tests and breast exams

Education on nutrition, fertility, and other aspects of reproductive health

Providing advice and/or counseling for family planning

Ultrasounds and prenatal blood work

A midwife can practice at hospitals, clinics, birth centers, or a patient’s home. In the United States, there are also different types of midwives based on their certifications. These include:

Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are midwives who have completed nursing school and chosen to pursue a graduate degree in midwifery.

Certified midwives (CMs) are professionals who have a master’s degree in midwifery but have not completed nursing school. They are only licensed to practice in certain states.

Certified professional midwives (CPMs) work in birth centers or homes. They have only completed coursework (no Master’s or nursing school) and are certified by the North American Registry of Midwives.

The differences between the types of midwives lie in their education, qualifications, and scope of care. For example, a CNM can prescribe medication and work in all 50 states, whereas a CPM can’t provide the same level of care, and can only practice in a few states.

The healthcare workforce shortage

The United States is experiencing a healthcare workforce shortage, which has been exacerbated by the pandemic. This shortage impacts almost every facet of healthcare, from practitioners to nurses, including midwives.

According to a study from the American College of Nurse-Midwives, there are only 14,000 midwives in the US, including those not in clinical practice. This means there are currently only 4 midwives employed per 1,000 live births.

The statistics get more concerning, too. With the US facing over 3.7 million live births a year, at least 22,000 midwives are needed in the midwifery workforce to meet the World Health Organization’s (WHO) goal of a minimum of 6 per 1,000 live births.

There would need to be at least 8,200 more midwives employed to meet the WHO’s goal, which is a massive concern. This data reveals that most people in the United States do not have access to midwives, which is vital for reducing maternal and newborn mortality.

Even if the United States were able to reach the WHO’s minimum (6 midwives per 1,000 live births), its midwifery workforce would still be behind every other high-income country. Statistics show the United States has the lowest overall supply of midwives and OB-GYNs compared to other developed countries.

America’s maternal mortality crisis

In addition to the midwife shortage, the US is also facing a maternal mortality crisis. In 2022, the country’s maternal mortality rate was 22 deaths for every 100,000 live births. A total of 817 women died that year in the US due to maternity-related causes.

The United States has the highest rate of maternal deaths of any high-income nation, despite a decline since the COVID-19 pandemic. Data reveals the rate of maternity-related deaths is also highest for Black women, suggesting race and class also have an impact.

Nearly two of three maternal deaths in the US occur during the postpartum period—meaning up to 42 days following birth. Studies comparing women in the US to other countries have found this could be due to the lack of postpartum supports, like home visits and guaranteed paid leave.

Where most high-income countries have managed to improve mortality rates and care over the years, the US has only worsened. US maternal mortality rates more than doubled between 1987 and 2018 and are expected to grow in the future.

The link to midwives

The maternal mortality crisis the United States is currently facing can be linked to the midwifery shortage. One of the major factors impacting the maternal mortality crisis is the lack of access to healthcare services, particularly during the postpartum period.

According to the World Health Organization, 80% of all maternal deaths, stillbirths, and neonatal deaths could be avoided by employing more midwives. They play a crucial role in providing care from before conception to well after birth to ensure the health of the mother and babies.

Statistics show that the US currently has a shortage of midwives, and also that OB-GYNs outnumber them. In other countries, like the UK and the Netherlands—which have better mortality rates—midwives outnumber OB-GYNs and perform most prenatal care and deliveries.

In other developed countries, like the Netherlands, France, and Germany, midwives provide postpartum care/home visits and are covered by national insurance. In the US, however, it’s rarely a midwife providing postpartum care, and it is only covered in some state Medicaid programs and certain health plans.

Aiding the mortality crisis

There is a clear link between America’s maternal mortality crisis and midwives. While the problem will require a multi-faceted solution, growing the midwifery workforce and improving accessibility to postpartum care provided by midwives is a great start.

The midwifery workforce needs to almost double in size over the next few years to meet the World Health Organization’s standards. They could do this by improving the current work conditions to better retain employees and make midwifery a more attractive job prospect, through increasing salaries and benefits.

Improving accessibility to postpartum care provided by midwives will require fundamental changes to the United States healthcare system. The US Government will need to invest in better public health systems if they want to improve the crisis, they will also need to work on bridging the gap that exists in the healthcare system for people from diverse/minority groups.

Healthcare is also in dire straits in rural parts of the United States, especially for midwifery. More than half of rural hospitals in the US reported no locally available midwifery care options.

This is a major issue in an already growing problem of a shortage of healthcare providers in rural areas. The US Government needs to recognize the importance of midwifery and invest in its workforce if it wants to improve maternal mortality rates.

While some suggest it’s evidence of alien life, skeptics believe it’s just crop irrigation fields. The debate continues online.
</excerpt>

A cryptic photograph depicting what looks like a gargantuan 1,000-foot-wide unidentified flying object (UFO) flying above the American Southwest has stormed social media. Widespread shared by UFO disclosure supporters, the photo has caused a fiery online debate as users argue if it is an actual extraterrestrial sighting or simply a mistaken visual anomaly.

The photo surfaced at a UAP Disclosure Fund panel in Washington, DC, called Science, National Security and Innovation. Former Pentagon official Luis ‘Lue’ Elizondo, who was involved in previous UFO research, unveiled the photo at the gathering, which included scientists and US legislators calling for more openness regarding UFO-related information.

The UAP Disclosure Fund also shared the image on X (formerly Twitter), tagging it: “Seen close to Four Corners at FL210, approximated 600–1000 ft in diameter, silver-colored, disc-like.” The photo is said to have been captured by a commercial airline pilot in 2021 and depicts what appears to be a metal disc with a clear shadow on the ground.

Mixed Reactions and Expert Skepticism

While the object’s shadow is being indicated as proof of its physical existence, Elizondo pointed out, “I can’t vouch for the authenticity of the photo because I didn’t take it.” He added that the photograph was taken by a civilian camera and stressed that the shadow could imply that it was something concrete.

The group also asserted that multiple speakers at the event testified that the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community possess hundreds of such classified photos and sensor reports on UFOs.

But the skepticism was quick in coming. Famous UFO skeptic Mick West ruled out the claim, stating the object might simply be circular crop irrigation fields that can be found throughout dry areas. He went on to say that the shadows of the surrounding hills do not match up with the supposed shadow of the UFO. Elizondo previously garnered criticism for peddling dubious UFO content, and several of his previous claims have been repudiated by the Pentagon.

Social Media Users Split

Internet users have expressed a broad spectrum of views. One user said, “It doesn’t look much like a UFO. But I lived in that area as a kid, and UFO sightings were fairly frequent. My brother and I spotted one in the late ’90s—a yellow-green disc that traveled at impossible velocities before blasting off into space.”

Another respondent commented, “Aren’t those just irrigation circles?” with another person adding humorously, “Alien activity?” Numerous others chimed in to second that the photograph is more likely to show farmland patterns rather than extraterrestrial activity.

What Are Americans Stocking Up On Before Trump’s Tariffs Take Effect?

<excerpt>Americans are rushing to stores, panic-buying goods ahead of President Trump’s sweeping new tariffs. Items like electronics, cars, furniture, and groceries are in high demand due to fears of rising prices. Experts warn the tariffs will increase business costs, reduce margins, and lead to higher consumer prices.
</excerpt>

Shopping carts are brimming and checkout lines are swelling as Americans dash to purchase merchandise before President Donald Trump’s newly imposed reciprocal tariffs, which are poised to cause broad price hikes across industries. From fruits and vegetables to passenger cars, shoppers are rushing to make purchases before the increases take effect.

The specter of increasing prices has prompted a panic buying spree nationwide. Basic commodities such as electronics, automobiles, coffee, apparel, and furniture are selling like hotcakes, with consumers attempting to beat the anticipated price hike.

Though President Trump maintains the tariffs are used to “level the playing field,” trade and supply chain analysts say the result will be higher prices for producers, narrowed margins, and ultimately higher-priced goods for ordinary Americans.

The auto sector is already experiencing a surge in consumer traffic, especially on imported cars or foreign-assembled autos. Demand, the Associated Press stated, has also skyrocketed for premium electronics like smartphones, tablets, and laptops, basically products commonly dependent on foreign-sourced components.

What’s Flying Off the Shelves?

These are the top products that consumers are buying up to prepare for the impact of the tariffs:

Electronics:
These include smartphones, tablets, and laptops that are experiencing a surge in sales. These products have most of the foreign components, especially from China, and are therefore at risk of significant price increases.

Household Appliances:
Products like dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines are hot on the demand list. Since the products are assembled using global parts, consumers are being alerted by retailers about possible price increases.

Cars and EVs:
Shoppers are running to dealerships to buy foreign-assembled cars and electric cars. Dealers have experienced higher demand, with consumers looking to make a deal before tariffs hit the prices of the cars.

Furniture:
There seems to be a noticeable rise in pre-purchasing of household items like beds, sofas, desks, and dining tables. Most are either imported or made from foreign-sourced materials, and thus are under threat from the new policy.

Footwear and Clothing:
Shoppers anticipate the prices of footwear and clothing going up in the near future, triggering a head start shopping splurge. Shoppers are scurrying to purchase sportswear, denims, working clothes, and casual footwear-most of which is produced or procured from foreign countries.

Essentials for Kids:
Toys, diapers, strollers, and baby clothes are being sold off the shelves in bulk. Since these items are largely imports, families are buying up before they pay more.
Homeowners and builders are vying to purchase materials like tiles, sanitary ware, wood, and hardware. Tariffs will be a disruptor to the cost of construction, particularly for home renovation and improvement.

Imported Foods:
Specialty foodstuffs such as gourmet coffee, condiments, and global snacks are experiencing high demand. Urban market retailers have already started raising prices, expecting increased import duties.

Fitness Gear:
Home gym equipment like stationary bikes, massage chairs, and treadmills are being purchased in increasing numbers. Most of these products are imported or assembled from overseas parts, so they’re right in the tariff crosshairs.

Kitchen Appliances:
Blenders, toasters, air fryers, and espresso makers are also experiencing sales increases. Consumers are taking advantage before prices skyrocket from the trade shift.

They reflect growing resistance to U.S. political influence, especially following controversial Trump remarks. The caps are sold online and embraced as bold anti-Trump statements.
</excerpt>

Donald Trump’s signature red ‘Make America Great Again’ hats have been more than a campaign prop for years. Frequently seen at political protests and rallies, the cap has become a badge of patriotism among his supporters. But now, a tide of parody hats sporting the phrase “Make America Go Away” is sweeping up among critics, most notably in Greenland and Canada.

The satirical twist on the MAGA hat slogan is being utilized to pass on increasing resistance to American political power. One such incident went viral when a Greenlander uploaded a picture on Facebook with the modified version of the red hat. The picture, uploaded just days before U.S. Vice President JD Vance and wife Usha Vance landed on the island, displayed the hat prominently displaying the words “Make America Go Away.”

Aannguaq Reimer-Johansen, who is a consultant for Greenland’s KNI trading group, shared the photo while advising locals not to interact with the Vances’ visit. “Citizens: Vance’s wife’s visit is a charm offensive. If you take a smiling selfie with them, you are sending a signal to the whole world that you love America and want to be part of it. Therefore don’t show interest. We have already demonstrated our stand through a huge demonstration. Let us remain firm and united,” he said.

After its popularity in Greenland, the parody cap has also become viral in Canada. One of the versions, ‘Make America Go Away Hat, Maple Leaf Cap’, is being retailed on Amazon Canada for around 1,000. The product description: “Bold Political Statement – Express your Canadian pride with this ‘Make America Go Away’ hat with maple leaf, ideal for anti-Trump fans.” A version of the cap containing the words “Canada Is Not For Sale” is another one.

This pop in popularity among these anti-MAGA caps in Canada was partly caused by comments made by former United States President Donald Trump. Trump explained, in one of his addresses, that, “I think Canada would be much better off being the 51st state because we lose $200 billion a year with Canada. And I’m not going to let that happen. Why are we paying $200 billion a year, essentially a subsidy to Canada?”

As a reaction to such sentiments, the hats are becoming a symbol of protest against perceived American overreach, turning political apparel into a global statement of resistance.

</excerpt>

How America Lost Control of the Bird Flu, Setting the Stage for Another Pandemic

The world has faced several pandemics throughout history, with the most notable in recent memory being the COVID-19 pandemic. However, before the world became preoccupied with the novel coronavirus, there was another looming threat that almost became the next global health catastrophe: Avian Influenza, or bird flu. In particular, the situation in the United States has raised concerns about how public health systems and government agencies failed to control the outbreak, allowing it to spread unchecked and setting the stage for a future pandemic.

Bird flu is a viral infection primarily affecting birds, but certain strains of the virus, such as the H5N1 and H7N9 subtypes, have the potential to infect humans and cause severe disease. The virus is typically spread through direct contact with infected birds or contaminated environments, making poultry farming and wild bird migration the major vectors for transmission. The situation became more alarming when highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreaks occurred in birds, as the disease could mutate and evolve into a strain capable of sustained human-to-human transmission. In recent years, the U.S. has witnessed several bird flu outbreaks, which have provided an unsettling preview of what could happen if such a virus were to evolve further.

The Early Warnings and Missed Opportunities

The avian influenza virus has long been a known threat to global health. In the early 2000s, public health experts warned that a human influenza pandemic was a matter of “when,” not “if.” In 2005, the H5N1 strain of bird flu hit global headlines as it spread across Asia and began infecting humans. The virus caused several deaths, mainly in people who had close contact with infected poultry, but experts feared that it could mutate into a form capable of spreading easily from human to human, which could lead to a pandemic.

Despite these early warnings, the U.S. government’s response to the bird flu threat was sluggish and disjointed. While the H5N1 strain never evolved into a pandemic, it set the stage for future outbreaks. The United States, which houses some of the largest poultry industries in the world, has been a hotspot for avian flu outbreaks. However, the response from authorities often seemed reactive rather than proactive, focusing on containment measures once outbreaks were detected, but failing to implement robust preventative strategies.

In 2014, an outbreak of H5N8 avian flu in the U.S. affected wild birds, leading to the culling of over 50 million birds. Public health experts and virologists once again sounded the alarm that the bird flu could mutate and become capable of human transmission. But even after this close call, the U.S. government failed to prepare adequately for future outbreaks, focusing more on short-term containment rather than long-term preparedness for a potential pandemic.

The Lax Response to the 2015 Avian Flu Outbreak

One of the most significant examples of the U.S. government’s failure to control bird flu occurred during the 2015 avian influenza outbreak. In that year, the H5N2 strain of avian flu swept across the country, infecting commercial poultry farms, primarily in the Midwest. The outbreak became the largest in U.S. history, infecting over 50 million birds and costing the U.S. poultry industry an estimated $3 billion. Despite the vast scale of the outbreak, the response from the U.S. government and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was inadequate.

Though the 2015 outbreak did not lead to human infections, it raised several important concerns about the country’s preparedness for a potential avian flu pandemic. The virus was found in wild birds and spread rapidly through factory farms, with outbreaks hitting nearly 20 states. The response largely revolved around culling infected flocks, rather than addressing the broader, systemic issues that allowed the virus to spread. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) initiated containment efforts, but these efforts were reactive, occurring after the virus had already spread widely.

Experts warned that the rapid spread of H5N2 was a direct consequence of industrial farming practices, which bring together large numbers of birds in confined spaces, creating ideal conditions for the virus to thrive and mutate. Despite these warnings, there were no significant policy changes in the agricultural sector to address these concerns. Instead of investing in long-term solutions such as biosecurity measures or diversifying poultry farming practices, the U.S. government’s focus remained on short-term containment. This reactive approach only reinforced the notion that the country was not truly prepared for a larger-scale outbreak, let alone a pandemic.

Failures in Surveillance and Early Detection Systems

One of the major contributing factors to the spread of avian influenza in the U.S. has been weaknesses in the surveillance and early detection systems that are supposed to catch outbreaks before they become widespread. In theory, the CDC and USDA are tasked with monitoring avian flu outbreaks in both wild and domestic birds. However, in practice, these surveillance systems have proven to be insufficient in preventing the rapid spread of the virus.

For example, during the 2015 outbreak, there were significant delays in detecting infected birds and implementing measures to prevent further spread. By the time the virus was identified in some commercial poultry farms, the infection had already spread to neighboring farms, making containment much more difficult. The lack of timely detection allowed the virus to spread quickly, with very little oversight on how the disease was being managed at the local level. This is a critical failure because early detection and containment are vital to preventing a virus from mutating and jumping to humans.

The absence of a well-coordinated response between state and federal agencies also hindered efforts to control the outbreak. While the USDA took steps to cull infected poultry, these efforts were often disorganized and poorly executed. Local farmers and poultry producers were left to fend for themselves in many instances, and the lack of standardized protocols meant that some areas were better equipped to handle the crisis than others.

The Current Bird Flu Situation and Concerns for the Future

In 2022 and 2023, the U.S. saw another significant resurgence of bird flu, with the H5N1 strain once again making headlines. This outbreak has raised alarms because of the potential for the virus to evolve and gain the ability to transmit between humans. The current bird flu strain circulating in the U.S. has already caused significant damage to the poultry industry, with millions of birds being culled to prevent the virus from spreading further.

While human cases of bird flu remain rare, the virus continues to mutate, and the possibility of a new pandemic strain emerging cannot be ruled out. As in previous outbreaks, the U.S. government has relied heavily on culling infected birds and implementing containment measures after outbreaks are detected. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive strategies to prevent the virus from evolving into a form capable of sustained human-to-human transmission.

The failure to prepare for a potential bird flu pandemic has left the U.S. in a vulnerable position. Experts warn that the U.S. could face another global health crisis if the virus were to mutate in such a way that it could spread from human to human. The continued presence of the virus in both domestic and wild bird populations means that the U.S. will likely see further outbreaks in the future. Without stronger preventive measures, such as better surveillance systems, biosecurity in poultry farms, and faster response protocols, the country risks losing control over the next major outbreak.

The Path Forward: How the U.S. Can Prevent a Future Pandemic

To prevent the next pandemic, the U.S. must adopt a more proactive approach to avian influenza and invest in long-term strategies to mitigate the risks associated with the disease. There are several key actions that need to be taken:

Improving Surveillance Systems:
The U.S. needs to improve its surveillance and early detection systems for avian flu, particularly in high-risk areas such as poultry farms and migratory bird habitats. This requires investment in technology and stronger coordination between federal, state, and local agencies.

Enhancing Biosecurity:
Strengthening biosecurity measures on poultry farms is critical to preventing future outbreaks. This could include measures such as improving sanitation, limiting contact between wild and domestic birds, and ensuring that workers have the necessary personal protective equipment to avoid cross-contamination.

Research into Vaccine Development:
Continued investment in vaccine research for avian flu is necessary to protect both humans and poultry from future outbreaks. Vaccines can play a pivotal role in preventing the spread of the virus and reducing the risk of a pandemic.

Global Cooperation:
Avian influenza is a global issue, and the U.S. must work with other countries to monitor and control the disease in wild bird populations and poultry industries worldwide. Collaboration with international health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) is essential to prevent the spread of the virus across borders.

Public Awareness and Education:
The public needs to be educated about the risks of bird flu and the importance of biosecurity and preventive measures. Increased awareness can help reduce the spread of the virus and encourage timely reporting of potential outbreaks.

The U.S. lost control of the bird flu outbreak due to a combination of factors, including a reactive approach to disease control, inadequate surveillance systems, and a lack of long-term preparedness. These failures have set the stage for a potential future pandemic. If the U.S. does not take immediate action to strengthen its systems for monitoring and controlling avian influenza, it could find itself facing another global health crisis. The lessons learned from past outbreaks should serve as a wake-up call, highlighting the urgent need for proactive measures to safeguard public health in the face of future pandemics.

</excerpt>

A TikToker, known as @kaybeecees, has sparked controversy with her advice to American women after Donald Trump’s victory, urging them to take drastic steps for their safety and reproductive rights. In a viral video titled ‘Women – take these steps,’ she advised women to leave their husbands if they voted for Trump, claiming that they are “in danger.” She said, “If he voted for that man, you need to leave him. You need to leave him.” She further added, “I know you love him, I know you think he can change…but especially if you are married to him, you are in danger right now. You are in a lot of danger.”

The TikToker, who previously mentioned living in rural Alabama, emphasized that her advice was just her personal opinion but believed it was necessary to protect women under Trump’s presidency. She also warned women against getting pregnant and advised deleting period-tracking apps due to concerns about the potential criminalization of women for abortions or miscarriages, referencing the 2022 Dobbs decision and six-week abortion bans in several states.

She also recommended women take self-defense classes or carry a weapon to protect themselves, saying, “You don’t get [raped].” In a follow-up video, she clarified that she was not trying to panic anyone, stating, “I’m just being very real, we are having a heart-to-heart right now. I need you to hear me.” She reassured viewers, saying, “I know it’s gonna be OK … because we’re going to make sure it’s gonna be OK.”

In response to questions from viewers, @kaybeecees expressed concerns about the societal impact of Trump’s presidency, stating, “The worst men among us have now been emboldened.” She warned, “You can absolutely expect [rape] and [domestic violence] to increase nationwide” under Trump’s leadership.

</excerpt>

For Americans relocating to India, the cultural differences can be both entertaining and enlightening. Kristen Fischer, a US citizen who first visited India in 2017 and now resides in New Delhi, effectively captures this experience. As a mother of three who identifies as “Very Videshi,” Fischer frequently shares observations about the cultural contrasts between the US and India on social media.

In her latest Instagram video, she emphasizes the disparity in seasoning food: while Americans typically rely on salt and pepper, Indian cuisine incorporates an array of spices, including aamchur (dried mango powder), dhaniya powder (coriander powder), haldi (turmeric), chilli powder, garam masala (a spice blend), jeera powder (cumin powder), and kaali mirch (black pepper).

Fischer also points out differences in mealtime customs. In the US, dinner may start as early as 5 PM, whereas in India, it is common to dine around 10 PM. She contrasts coffee and tea cultures as well, noting that Americans often prefer large to-go coffee cups, while in India, small cups of chai are designed to be savored slowly.

Additionally, she touches on dining etiquette, highlighting that while Americans typically use forks, eating with one’s hands is a widespread and culturally accepted practice in India.

</excerpt>

On Thursday, Democratic presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris underscored that the current presidential race is pivotal for the future of the United States, declaring that the future is always worth fighting for.

Speaking at a rally in Georgia, Harris acknowledged that her campaign is positioned as the underdog but expressed strong confidence in securing victory in the upcoming election. “With 68 days to go, we are here to speak the truth. We know we’re the underdogs, and there’s hard work ahead. But we thrive on hard work. With your support, we will win this November,” Harris stated.

Reflecting on her career, Harris highlighted her history of advocating for people in difficult situations. She noted her experience as a courtroom prosecutor, emphasizing her commitment to justice with her slogan, “Kamala Harris For The People.” She spoke of her efforts to protect women, children, and seniors from abuse and conveyed that her previous challenges, including tough elections, have prepared her for the current fight.

“We never gave up because the future is always worth fighting for,” Harris asserted. “This is a fight for America’s future—a future with affordable childcare, paid leave, and accessible healthcare.”

In an earlier interview with CNN, Harris also mentioned her willingness to appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if elected president. She emphasized her commitment to diversity of opinion and experience in decision-making. “I believe it’s important to have a range of perspectives at the table for critical decisions,” she said, though she did not name any specific individuals.

Harris was nominated as the Democratic candidate after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race, partly due to concerns about his age and his performance in a debate with Donald Trump. Should she win, Harris, 59, would make history as the first woman to become President of the United States. She is also the second woman ever to be nominated for the presidency by a major political party.

</excerpt>

The expedited espionage trial of Evan Gershkovich, a US reporter for The Wall Street Journal, is reaching its final stages in Russia on Friday. The case has been widely condemned by Washington as a sham.

Gershkovich, 32, is the first Western journalist in Russia to face spying charges since the Soviet era. He was detained in March 2023 while on a reporting trip to Yekaterinburg in the Urals and has since spent nearly 16 months in Moscow’s notorious Lefortovo prison. If found guilty by a closed military court, he could face up to 20 years in a penal colony.

The latest hearing was set to begin at 10:30 a.m. local time at Sverdlovsk Regional Court in Yekaterinburg. A court spokesperson informed AFP that the defense and prosecution were expected to deliver their closing arguments, with a verdict potentially being announced as early as Friday or at a later date.

Gershkovich’s case has progressed rapidly, with only two closed-door hearings since the first in late June. The second hearing, held Thursday, was moved up almost a month at the request of Gershkovich’s defense team. Similar cases in Russia typically drag on for weeks or months between hearings.

Washington believes Gershkovich’s arrest is a strategic move by Russia to use him as a “bargaining chip” to secure the release of Russians convicted abroad. Tensions between the two countries remain high due to Moscow’s military actions in Ukraine.

Russia maintains a policy of not exchanging prisoners internationally unless they have been convicted. Both Moscow and Washington have expressed openness to a potential exchange involving Gershkovich, but details and timelines remain undisclosed. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed ongoing talks between US and Russian special services regarding possible prisoner exchanges but did not specify any individuals.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has hinted at a desire to secure the release of Vadim Krasikov, a Russian convicted in Germany for the assassination of a Chechen separatist commander, an act German judges attributed to Russian authorities.

Other US nationals detained in Russia include dual US-Russian citizens Alsu Kurmasheva and ballerina Ksenia Karelina, as well as former US Marine Paul Whelan, serving a 16-year sentence for spying. Additionally, a Moscow court recently sentenced former US paratrooper Michael Travis Leake to 13 years in prison on drug dealing charges.

The Kremlin has provided no public evidence for the spying allegations against Gershkovich, claiming only that he was caught “red-handed” spying on a tank factory in the Urals region and was working for the CIA. US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby has refuted these claims, stating, “Evan has never been employed by the United States government. Evan is not a spy.”

A United Nations working group recently declared Gershkovich’s detention “arbitrary” and called for his immediate release. Gershkovich, a US-born son of Soviet emigres raised in New Jersey, had been reporting from Russia since 2017 and chose to remain even after Moscow’s Ukraine offensive.

While in prison, Gershkovich has communicated with friends and family through hand-written letters, maintaining his sense of humor and optimism. At his first trial hearing on June 26, he greeted journalists with a smile and appeared cheerful despite his head being fully shaven.

The Wall Street Journal has denounced the accusations against Gershkovich as bogus, asserting that he was simply doing his job and had never worked for the US government. The White House has urged US citizens still in Russia to “depart immediately” due to the risk of wrongful arrest.

</excerpt>

Rare images of the Mashco Piro, an uncontacted Indigenous tribe in the remote Peruvian Amazon, have been released by Survival International. It has captured dozens of the tribe members on the banks of a river near areas where logging companies hold concessions. These sightings have become more frequent as the reclusive tribe appears to be fleeing the increasing presence of loggers, according to Fenamad, a local Indigenous rights group.

The photographs, taken at the end of June, show the Mashco Piro on the banks of a river in the Madre de Dios region of southeastern Peru, near the Brazilian border. Caroline Pearce, director of Survival International, noted the significance of the images, stating, “These incredible images show that a large number of isolated Mashco Piro live alone a few kilometers from where the loggers are about to start their operations.”

In recent days, over 50 Mashco Piro individuals were seen near the Yine village of Monte Salvado, with another group of 17 appearing near the village of Puerto Nuevo, according to Survival International. The Mashco Piro, who live between two natural reserves in Madre de Dios, typically avoid contact with others, including the Yine.

Several logging companies have timber concessions within Mashco Piro territory. One such company, Canales Tahuamanu, has constructed more than 200 kilometers (120 miles) of roads for timber extraction, according to Survival International. Despite requests, a Canales Tahuamanu representative in Lima did not comment. The company is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and holds 53,000 hectares (130,000 acres) in Madre de Dios for cedar and mahogany extraction.

The Peruvian government reported on June 28 that local residents had spotted Mashco Piro on the Las Piedras River, 150 kilometers from Puerto Maldonado, the capital of Madre de Dios. Rosa Padilha of the Brazilian Catholic bishops’ Indigenous Missionary Council in Acre state mentioned sightings of the Mashco Piro across the border in Brazil. “They flee from loggers on the Peruvian side,” she said, noting that the tribe often appears on beaches to collect tracajá (Amazon turtle) eggs, leaving behind turtle shells and footprints.

Padilha emphasized the constant state of unrest for the Mashco Piro, saying, “They are a people with no peace, restless, because they are always on the run.”

These sightings underscore the ongoing challenges faced by uncontacted tribes in the Amazon, as their traditional lands are increasingly encroached upon by logging and other activities.

</excerpt>

The director of the US Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, has sparked a heated debate following her explanation. As why an agent was not stationed on the roof where gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on former President Donald Trump. Cheatle, who is facing calls for resignation over the security failure, revealed that the agency deemed the roof of a nearby warehouse too risky for an agent’s placement during Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

On Sunday, Crooks, 20, scaled the building and took position on the roof, from where he fired at Trump, hitting him in the ear and killing a rally attendee. Cheatle explained to ABC News that the decision not to place an agent on the roof was due to its sloped design, which was considered too dangerous for a security post. Instead, the Secret Service opted to secure the building from the inside

This lapse in security allowed Crooks to evade both police and Secret Service agents, despite having been flagged as suspicious. Witnesses reported seeing Crooks climb onto the roof with his AR-style rifle, but security officials failed to act in time to prevent the attack.

Cheatle admitted that the Secret Service was aware of the building’s vulnerabilities but maintained that no personnel were assigned to the roof. She emphasized that the rapid unfolding of events and the challenges in locating Crooks contributed to the failure. “The buck stops with me. It was unacceptable, and it’s something that shouldn’t happen again,” Cheatle stated.

Dan Bongino, a conservative radio host and former Secret Service agent, claimed an “unimpeachable source” informed him that an agent was supposed to be on the roof where Crooks shot from but “didn’t show up.” “According to my source, that roof was supposed to be a police post… [there] was supposed to be someone there,” Bongino said. “They’re now making up excuses saying the pitch of the roof. My source says to me that no one knows why the post didn’t show up.”

Former FBI special agent Kenneth Gray criticized the Secret Service for its poor handling of the situation, suggesting that the agency’s recent focus on increasing diversity may have impacted its operational effectiveness. Republicans and other critics are calling for a thorough investigation into the incident. House Judiciary Committee member Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota stated, “Somebody, somewhere has a lot of serious questions to answer.”

Cheatle’s handling of the incident has drawn intense scrutiny, especially since she was not present at the initial FBI press conference. US President Joe Biden has expressed confidence in the Secret Service’s commitment but questioned whether the agency could have anticipated the attack. He stressed that the Secret Service members who responded were willing to risk their lives but left open the question of whether they should have prevented the incident.

During a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller emphasized India’s historical ties with Russia and urged India to leverage its unique position to influence Putin towards ending the conflict in Ukraine. Miller underscored the importance of upholding the UN Charter and respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“India has a longstanding relationship with Russia, that is well known. Speaking for the United States, we have encouraged India to use that longstanding relationship with Russia and the unique position they have to urge President Putin to end his illegal war and to find a just peace, lasting peace to this conflict, to tell Vladimir Putin to respect the UN Charter and Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Miller stated during the briefing.

Acknowledging India as a crucial partner in dealing with Russia, Miller’s statement comes shortly after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow. During his two-day visit, PM Modi held talks with President Putin, during which he expressed concerns over the impact of the conflict on the Global South and reiterated India’s commitment to supporting efforts towards peace.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured both Russia and the international community of India’s unwavering support for any peace effort,” the statement read.

Prior to Modi’s visit, the United States had conveyed its concerns to India regarding its relationship with Russia and urged PM Modi to use his dialogue with Putin to advocate for respect towards Ukraine’s sovereignty.

PM Modi’s visit to Moscow marked his first trip to Russia since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine more than two years ago. During his meeting with President Putin, Modi highlighted the importance of achieving peace and stability in the region, drawing upon Putin’s candid perspectives on the matter.

The diplomatic exchanges underscore the delicate balance India maintains in its foreign policy, navigating its strategic ties with Russia while engaging with global partners aligned on principles of international law and territorial integrity.

The developments reflect ongoing global efforts to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine, with international stakeholders urging diplomatic resolutions and peaceful negotiations to mitigate the humanitarian and geopolitical impacts of the crisis.

</excerpt>

In a significant development at the NATO summit on Thursday, US President Joe Biden reaffirmed America’s commitment to deterrence against North Korea, emphasizing that this includes the full range of US capabilities, including nuclear options. This statement came during a meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, underscoring the united front between the two nations.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the summit, saw both leaders authorizing a guideline aimed at establishing an integrated system of extended deterrence for the Korean Peninsula. This system is designed to counter the nuclear and military threats posed by North Korea, according to a statement from President Yoon’s office.

The new guideline formalizes the deployment of US nuclear assets in and around the Korean Peninsula. This strategic move is intended to deter and respond to potential nuclear attacks from North Korea. Kim Tae-hyo, Yoon’s deputy national security adviser, detailed the initiative during a briefing in Washington.

“It means US nuclear weapons are specifically being assigned to missions on the Korean Peninsula,” Kim said, highlighting the significant shift in US military strategy in the region.

In a joint statement, Biden and Yoon announced the signing of the Guidelines for Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Operations on the Korean Peninsula. The statement reinforced their mutual commitment as outlined in the US-ROK Washington Declaration. “The Presidents reaffirmed their commitments in the US-ROK Washington Declaration and highlighted that any nuclear attack by the DPRK against the ROK will be met with a swift, overwhelming, and decisive response,” the statement read.

For clarity, DPRK refers to North Korea’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, while ROK stands for South Korea’s formal name, the Republic of Korea.

Cheong Seong-Chang, a security strategy expert at the Sejong Institute and a proponent of South Korea’s independent nuclear armament, commented on the new guideline, describing it as a significant step forward that fundamentally alters the allies’ response strategy to a nuclear threat from North Korea.

“The problem is, the only thing that will give South Korea full confidence is a promise from the US of an immediate nuclear retaliation in the event of nuclear use by the North, but that is simply impossible,” Cheong said. He pointed out the inherent limitations of nuclear deterrence and expressed concerns about the guideline’s longevity, particularly with the potential for changes in the US administration.

</excerpt>

President Volodymyr Zelensky returns to the U.S. Capital on Wednesday to strengthen relationships with lawmakers. For securing future aid for Ukraine and to express gratitude for the $175 billion in assistance already approved since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.

During his visit, which coincides with this week’s NATO summit in Washington, Zelenskiy is expected to meet with the leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as key committees involved in defense, spending, diplomacy, and national security. “It’s an incredibly important mission, and we’ve got to stand by Ukraine,” Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner told Reuters.

Zelensky’s visit occurs amid significant uncertainty regarding the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Incumbent Democrat Joe Biden, a strong supporter of aid to Ukraine, is running against former Republican President Donald Trump, who has expressed skepticism about continued support. Biden’s uneven debate performance on June 27 and low public approval ratings have raised concerns about his re-election prospects and his ability to manage the demands of his position for another term.

A few congressional Democrats have called for Biden to step aside for another candidate to challenge Trump. Last month, Reuters reported that two of Trump’s advisers had presented him with a plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine if he wins the November 5 election. The plan involves pressuring Kyiv by limiting U.S. weapons supplies to encourage peace talks.

In Congress, many of Trump’s closest allies have consistently voted against aiding Zelensky’s government. However, Democrats and internationally focused Republicans have collaborated to approve the $175 billion in aid to Ukraine. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, a close Trump ally, shifted his stance in April—months after Biden’s request—and allowed a House vote that passed $61 billion in assistance for Ukraine.

When Zelensky last visited Congress in December, Johnson had opposed Biden’s request for additional funding. The House’s recent passage of the supplemental spending package by 311 to 112, with “no” votes from conservative Republicans allied with Trump, has fueled concerns that Trump’s party may block further aid if they gain control of the House, Senate, and White House in November.

However, in his first major national security address this week, Johnson acknowledged that Russia poses a threat beyond Ukraine and emphasized American voter support for the aid during his travels across the country. “People understand that [Russian President Vladimir Putin] would not stop if he took Kyiv. He’s a ruthless dictator in my view,” Johnson stated.

</excerpt>

Four Indian-Americans, including a woman, have been charged with allegedly running a human labor trafficking scheme out of a home in Texas, according to a media report. The Princeton Police Department disclosed details of an investigation that resulted in the arrest of four individuals after 15 women were discovered inside the home as alleged victims of human labor trafficking, Fox4News.com reported on Monday night.

The suspects, Chandan Dasireddy, 24, Dwaraka Gunda, 31, Santhosh Katkoori, 31, and Anil Male, 37, were all arrested in March and now face charges of trafficking persons, a second-degree felony. More arrests are anticipated, the channel reported, quoting police sources.

Authorities found that all the young women were forced to sleep on the floor in a home on Ginsburg Lane in Collin County, Princeton. “There was basically no furniture inside the home at the center of human trafficking, just a bunch of computer electronics and blankets,” police stated.

According to another news portal, the McKinney Courier-Gazette, officers from the Princeton Police Department were dispatched on March 13 to a residence following a welfare concern and suspicious circumstances. “After further investigation of the initial report, Princeton Police CID detectives obtained a search warrant for the home of Santhosh Katkoori, where 15 adult females were located. During the investigation, it was discovered that the females were forced to work for Katkoori and multiple programming shell companies owned by him and his wife, Dwaraka Gunda,” the portal reported.

During the execution of the search warrant, multiple laptops, cell phones, printers, and fraudulent documents were seized. It was later determined that several locations within Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney were involved in the forced labor of the victims, including adult males. Additional laptops, cell phones, and documents were seized from these other locations.

The initial concern was raised by a pest control company, which was called in for a possible bed bug issue. “Once inside, the inspector noticed that each room had 3-5 young females sleeping on the floors. There were also large amounts of suitcases. The company contacted the police,” Fox4News.com added.

Princeton Police Sgt. Carolyn Crawford revealed that over 100 more individuals are involved in the operation, “more than half of them victims.” However, she did not disclose the specific type of labor operation that was taking place.

</excerpt>

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Friday that Russia should begin producing short and intermediate-range nuclear missiles, previously prohibited under the now-defunct Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with the United States.

These missiles, with a range of 500 to 5,500 kilometers, were banned under the Cold War-era treaty signed by Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan in 1987, marking the first time the superpowers had agreed to reduce their nuclear arsenals and eliminated a whole category of nuclear weapons.

The United States, under former President Donald Trump, formally withdrew from the INF Treaty in 2019, citing alleged violations by Moscow, which the Kremlin (official website of the President of the Russian Federation) denied. At the time, Russia stated it would adhere to a moratorium on missile production if the US did not deploy missiles near Russian territory.

Putin stated that, given the US has begun production of short and medium range missiles, Russia also has the right to begin research and development of such missiles. pic.twitter.com/LQFGZliSyk

— RT (@RT_com) July 5, 2024

Putin has accused the US of resuming missile production and deploying them in various locations, including Denmark for the exercises and the Philippines, where Russia has pledge not to deploy such missiles prompting Russia to reconsider its stance. “We need to respond to this and make decisions about what we will have to do in this direction next,” Putin stated.

Putin said, “Apparently, we need to start manufacturing these strike systems and then, based on the actual situation, make decisions about where – if necessary to ensure our safety – to place them.”

Putin indicated that Russia might need to start manufacturing these missiles and decide on their deployment based on security needs. This move follows Russia’s suspension of its participation in the New START treaty last year, the last nuclear arms pact with the US. Additionally, the US has supplied shorter-range missiles to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict, partially lifting a ban on their use against Russian targets, which has heightened tensions.

The Marblehead Fire Department responded quickly to the blaze at the harbour’s mouth, joined by state environmental police and the US Coast Guard. America celebrates July 4 as its Independence Day.

According to reports, Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination announced on social media that the barge in the north coast village of Marblehead had caught fire during the night. A rather dramatic video footage shows a boat passing by the inferno, with dense smoke plumes rising into the sky. No one was killed in the accident and an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Americans enthusiastically celebrated their nation’s birthday with parades, cookouts, and vibrant fireworks displays, despite a financial fallout.
A joint statement of the Quad Leaders issued in New Delhi on Friday denounced the use of terrorist proxies and committed to promote accountability for terrorist attacks, including the 26/11 attack in Mumbai, “which claimed lives of citizens from all Quad countries”.

“We announce the establishment of the Quad Working Group on Counter-Terrorism, which will explore cooperation amongst the Quad and with Indo-Pacific partners, to counter new and emerging forms of terrorism, radicalization to violence, and violent extremism,” the joint statement said.

It noted that terrorism has become increasingly diffuse, aided by terrorists’ adaptation to, and the use of emerging and evolving technologies such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and the internet, including social media platforms for recruitment and incitement to commit terrorist acts, as well as for the financing, planning, and preparation of terrorist activities.

The group also welcomed the discussions on these themes at the Quad Counter-Terrorism Policy Meeting and tabletop exercise hosted by Australia in October 2022 and said it looked forward to its first meeting in the United States in March 2023 to continue discussions on this global issue.

Biden, US President addressed the press conference after the mid- term polls on Wednesday and said , Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at.

Biden was asked whether he thinks Elon Musk is a “threat to U.S. national security” and should his “joint acquisition of Twitter be investigated”. On which Biden said, “ I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at. Whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate.” Earlier on Wednesday, Joe Biden mocked the Republicans for blocking the Giant “Red Wave” and hailed the midterm elections as a “Good Day” for democracy.

He said, “Our Democracy has been tested in recent years, but with the votes of the American people we have proved once again that it’s Democracy who we are.”

Earlier, Musk tweeted, “Our Democracy has been tested in recent years, but with the votes of the American people we have proved once again that it’s Democracy who we are.”

Notably, his comments came shortly after he publicly declared his support for the Republican-controlled Congress and advised people to do the same.

Musk declared on Twitter that it is preferable for there to be two political parties in power, citing Joe Biden as the Democratic party’s representative in the White House.

“To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” Musk tweeted on Monday.”

Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge!” he added.

“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said.

Moreover, the reason for this action of the FBI has not yet been revealed.

Former US President Trump compared the FBI’s action to the Watergate scandal. “What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?” Trump said.

Significantly, the Watergate scandal is the biggest political scandal in the history of America. This happened during the tenure of Richard Nixon, who was the US President from 1972 to 1974, and due to this, he had to resign.

“It is political targeting at the highest level! Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 e-mails after they were subpoenaed by Congress. Absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. She even took antique furniture, and other items from the White House,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, trump said, this is an attack from hardline Democrats, who desperately want to stop me from contesting the 2024 election. Because of the recent elections, they are putting hurdles in this. Trump said he will do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming midterm elections.

However, an FBI spokesperson declined to give further details to the media about the action.

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi departed from the self-ruled island on Wednesday after a short trip. Pelosi trip raised tension in the Taiwan Strait.

“Our delegation has the distinct privilege of meeting with the President of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen today,” Pelosi tweeted.

The two countries discussed how America and Taiwan can deepen their economic ties, and further strengthen the security partnership.

For over twenty years the US House Speaker was the highest-level US official to visit Taiwan. “It was also my high honor to receive from President @iingwen of Taiwan the Order of Propitious Clouds with Special Grand Cordon: a symbol of our treasured friendship. Make no mistake: America remains unwavering in our commitment to the people of Taiwan-now and for decades to come,” she added.

Earlier on Tuesday night, the US Congressional delegation landed in Taiwan. Since she landed Pelosi held several discussions with top leadership in Taiwan.

“There is a struggle between democracy and autocracy in the world. We cannot back away from that. As China uses its soft power in order to gain support, we’ve to talk about Taiwan in terms of its technological advancement and show people Taiwan’s courage to become more democratic,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi responded to China over her visit, “No more evidence is needed on what happened in Hong Kong, one country two systems didn’t happen. We don’t want anything to happen to Taiwan by force.”

During talks with Taiwanese leadership, Pelosi has made a bedrock promise to always stand with the island country.

However, China opposed the US House Speaker’s Taiwan visit terming the trip a serious violation of the one-china principle. As a part of military operations, China also announced live firing near Taiwan in response to Pelosi’s visit.

A three-year restraining order against an alleged trespasser has been granted to American media celebrity and model Kendall Jenner.

A Los Angeles County Commissioner reportedly granted Jenner a permanent restraining order against Arnold Oscar Babcock on July 19 for alleged trespassing, according to court records. The court’s judgement follows Jenner’s filing of a non-violent civil harassment case against the man in January.

According to the filings, Jenner, Babcock, their attorneys Kate Mangels for Jenner, and Edward Crawford Watkins for Babcock, attended the hearing. The court’s ruling follows Jenner’s non-violent civil harassment case against Babcock that she submitted in January.

While making this choice may help Jenner feel more secure, this is not the first time she has experienced a security concern. After Malik Bowker was detained in March for trespassing on her Los Angeles property, she was given a five-year restraining order against him in April 2021.

Bowker reportedly knocked on Jenner’s windows while chanting her name, according to TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources. He then started taking off his clothing so he could swim in her pool.

When the incident occurred, sources close to the Kardashians star at the time told E! News that Jenner had increased her security measures.
