Earlier, TV actor Aly Goni wrote a touching note following the attacks on Jammu by Pakistan last week, wishing well to his relatives in Jammu and thanking the Indian Army. Shaheer Sheikh has also thanked the Indian Armed Forces now, sharing sleepless nights worrying about his family in the area.

A Message of Gratitude by Shaheer Sheikh

Shaheer took to Instagram and wrote, “Eternally indebted to our armed forces! My mother and sister are in Jammu… and the attacks gave us all sleepless nights. But to see the precision, swiftness and bravery with which our forces responded is remarkable. I can only imagine what the families of a soldier go through when their ‘own’ is on the frontline. Hats off to the soldiers, hats off to their families.”

He further expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives in the attacks, adding, “This bravery on and outside of the battlefield is what keeps our country and its countrymen safe. My sincere condolences to the people who lost their loved ones in these trying times. Jai Hind.”

Terrorist Attack in Jammu: The Pahalgam Incident

On 22 April, terrorists targeted the Baisaran meadow in the town of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, killing 26 civilians, the majority of them tourists. Some others were also injured. The Resistance Front, a splinter group of Lashkar-e-Taiba, owned up to the attack. India accused Pakistan of cross-border terrorism; however, Pakistan has rejected the allegations. The attack was one of the deadliest in the area since the 2019 Pulwama attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans.

India Strikes Back: Operation Sindoor

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian military forces launched missile strikes early on Wednesday against nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur, a Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group stronghold. The military operations were conducted under ‘Operation Sindoor’, as announced by a statement of the Indian Army released at 1:44 am on 8 May.

“A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” the Indian statement said. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” it added.

In his message, Salman Khan advised fans not to purchase tickets for any purported US tours, reinforcing that there are no such events planned. His statement read: “This is to inform that neither Mr. Salman Khan nor any of his affiliated companies or teams are organizing any upcoming concerts or appearances in the USA in 2024. Any claims suggesting that Mr. Khan will be performing are completely false. Please do not trust any emails, messages, or advertisements promoting such events. Legal action will be taken against anyone found falsely using Mr. Salman Khan’s name for fraudulent purposes.”

“I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know, don’t worry! It’s just a character appearance for my latest movie. The character requires me to have white hair, white beard and look old,” he added.

Chan’s post also featured a collection of nostalgic photographs from his esteemed career. “Even before today, many friends have been reminding me: ‘Jackie, it’s going to be your 70th birthday!’ Every time I hear this number, my heart would stop for a second — l’m 70 years old already?” he wrote.

Chan continued, “After recovering from the shock, the second thing that would come to my mind is a saying that my big brother, Sammo Hung once said: ‘being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.’ Especially for us stunt people, we don’t know how lucky we are to be able to grow old.”

“A big thank you to everyone for all your birthday wishes. Hope everyone stays happy and healthy,” he concluded.

Chan did not specify the particular role that necessitated him to portray an older character, although he is slated to star in the upcoming Karate Kid sequel, scheduled for release in December.

K Shivaram, actor and former IAS officer passes away at 70

K Shivaram, a former IAS officer who also pursued careers in acting and politics, passed away on Thursday at a Bengaluru hospital at the age of 70.

Shivaram was born on 6th April, 1953 in Urugahalli village, Ramanagar district, to drama maestro Kempaiah and his wife Chikkaboramma. He achieved success in acting and bureaucracy, but his political career never fully took off.

One of his most notable achievements was being the first person to clear the UPSC exam in Kannada.

In 1972, Shivaram obtained a job in the state government following his graduation from Government High School in Malleswaram and completion of a typing and shorthand course. The following year, he joined the police department’s intelligence wing as a police reporter.

While working, he pursued BA and MA degrees through evening and distance learning. He was appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1985 after passing the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) test.

In 1986, Shivaram achieved a childhood aspiration when he became the first Kannada individual to pass the UPSC exam and made history.

‘Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake,’ a 1993 musical thriller directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, was a successful movie that launched his film career. He decided to put more of his attention into his bureaucratic job when most of his later cinematic endeavors failed to materialize. As the regional commissioner for Bengaluru, he retired in 2013.

After retiring, K Shivaram joined the Congress party. Later, he changed to the JD(S) and ran from Bijapur in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, losing to Ramesh Jigajinagi of the BJP. He eventually became a member of the BJP and was given a position on the state executive committee.

He is survived by his wife Vani Shivaram and a daughter, who is married to Kannada actor Pradeep.

Hollywood star Cameron Diaz and American musician Benji Madden have been happily married for eight years. The two met at a party the actor threw at his apartment in May 2014. A few months later, in December 2014, the couple confirmed their engagement. A month later in January, Cameron and Benji exchanged vows at a Jewish wedding. They had a daughter via surrogate in 2019. However, they announced the big news in January 2020.

Announcing the birth of her daughter, Benji Madden wrote, “We are so happy, blessed and grateful to start this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She captured our hearts and added to our family in an instant.” However, the post was later deleted.

Even after a happy marriage, Diaz surely enjoys her private space, this came to light after she vouched for “normalizing separate bedrooms.” People magazine reported that Cameron Diaz, speaking to Yes Man stars Molly Sims and Emese Gormley on the latest episode of their podcast Lipstick on the Rim, said: “We should normalize separate bedrooms.”

Diaz said this when one of the women joked that her husband snores. The Charlie’s Angels actor added to the same, saying, “For me, I’d like, I have my house, you have yours. We have a family house in the middle. I want to go to sleep in my room. Go to your room and sleep. I am fine and we have a bedroom in the middle where we can gather for our relationships. because my husband is so amazing. I said that before we got married.”

Kartik Aaryan says “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 changed the course of my life”

‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ will continuously stay unique for entertainer Kartik Aaryan as he feels the film has “changed the course of his life.”
The film finished eight years today and Kartik decided to praise its anniversary in a unique manner.

Taking to Instagram, Kartik dropped a video of his famous monologue from the film and captioned it, “‘Problem Kya Hai?’ I didn’t know that these three words will become synonymous to my name this movie changed the course of my life, my career and put me on the track of an unforgettable journey into the celluloid.”
He added, ” #PyaarKaPunchnama2, clocks in eight years today… always indebted to Luv Sir and the audience who gave unconditional love back then and still look forward to hearing the Monologue every time. Ending this gratitude-note with the three magical words Problem Kya hai? .”
